The Many of Difficulties Twin Cities Bartenders Face Right Now - Eater Twin Cities

"Palmer’s has strict safety protocols and a zero-tolerance policy on mask wearing. The space is considered as safe as it could be under current regulations, although the usual lively atmosphere is missing." - Joy Summers

Nice restaurant tucked away in Peachtree city. Menu has a variety of food for meat eaters and non meat eaters. Staff was very nice and helpful offering suggestions on dishes constantly checked on my table throughout my meal. There is a patio area if you like to dine outside. Restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated.

Our first time here was phenomenal! From the time we walked in, everyone was so attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was so down to earth, you can tell the employees here actually have a relationship and work well together. The bartender (I believe his name was Patrick) provided THE BEST customer service I've ever had at an establishment. He was full of energy, knowledgeable about the menu, and very attentive to our table. The manager James and the female owner were also very kind and approachable. The food was a 10/10, literally everything we ordered was SO good, even down to the salad. If you haven't had their brisket stroganoff and their dessert waffle you're truly missing out. We will definitely return!

Google
Excellent burgers. The Brisket stroganoff chef's special was delicious. Only thing to be improved is the very small parking area, but other than that it's a perfect place for your lunch and dinner

Sydney and me had an amazing #valentinesday at @palmersptc The vday menu was very good! The staff were great and the restaurant was super cute, a total 10/10 experience!

My first visit was for early dinner on Friday night, and I was dumbfounded that the parking lot was already full. The young ladies at the door made me immediately feel welcome and seated me right away. I had the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Palmer's Angus Burger topped with sautéed mushrooms, which were both good and reasonably priced. My server, Kelsi, was spot-on with service even though the restaurant was packed, and she had quite a few tables. She was both amiable and attentive, which was great! I opted for the seasonal Strawberry Shortcake dessert, which was very good. The crowd size and cheerful atmosphere reflects that customer satisfaction is good!

Visited on a Friday evening, pretty busy but the wait time for a table was not long at all. We chose to sit outside and listen to the live music that was available. We had the fried green tomatoes (which were amazing) and I am a wing person so I always like to try the wings at a restaurant so I had a order of the lemon pepper wings. They were crisp, fried to perfection and the seasoning was just right. I also had a Spicy Margarita, not as much kick as I like but it was quite refreshing. For dinner, I had the fried grouper sandwich with fries. Again everything was cooked to perfection and tasted really fresh. Good spot for a casual date night or just hanging out with family and friends.

Yesterday, my friends and I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at this charming place. Despite its large exterior, the interior is quaint with limited table space, especially if you're a party of four. The pub tables are not the best choice in that case, as our hostess suggested. The table we had was approximately 18"x36" in size - quite small, but it added to the cozy atmosphere. The acoustics in the restaurant are quite lively, making it lively and energetic, but perhaps not the best for a quiet, intimate conversation. On the bright side, Palmer's boasts a delightful outdoor patio seating area and a sports fan's bar with flat-screen TVs. Now, onto the food! My burger was a delight with its delicious chargrilled taste - highly recommended. My mother-in-law thoroughly enjoyed her roast beef sandwich as well. And we can't forget to mention our super-friendly server, Alejandro. We're already looking forward to returning!

Google
The food was excellent, and the service was fabulous. All for Morgan, she is very helpful with making food choices if it's your first time going. Everyone was very professional and polite. My wife and I will be going back.

Yelp
Review update: Me and my wife go here whenever we are on this side of town! I like this place because they have great food, great drinks, and great customer service. Let me talk about the service. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable with our seating outside because it was a little chilly. They moved us to a table with a nice heater. They checked on us frequently and more than one server came to the table to see how we were doing. It seemed like all the staff were really working together well, and just concerned about the customer experience. It really shows when the staff at a restaurant exhibit true southern hospitality. Most restaurants it seems, have reduced in quality of table service since the pandemic and it's refreshing to have a great service experience. This time me and my wife just ordered the fried green tomatoes and some drinks as we had recently eaten. We enjoyed the appetizer and our drinks. We have consistently had good service and food over the years, which is why we often tip them more than the customary amounts. In a world where good service and food are hard to come by, this spot is a gem!

Yelp
We used to love Palmers. The inside is extremely loud (echoing) but the outside ambiance was great as was the food. The last few times we've gone the food has made dramatic declines. Last night, the portions were ridiculously reduced. My husband ordered chips and salsa. The salsa serving was literally 2 tablespoons. I ordered a smash burger no bun. It came with the tiniest, single slice of lettuce. (They used to accommodate gluten free and no longer do so this was one of my few options). Usually a bun free burger is served with a bit of lettuce to round it out. Everything was smaller except the price. I don't mind a smaller portion or a higher price but both? Nah.
google avatar

Allen B.

Yelp
I tried again because a friend wanted to meet here. The seats inside are hard and uncomfortable. What would it cost to add cushions? And me feet don't touch the floor, and I'm 6'1", which hurts my leg behind the knee. Outside is better but not fantastic. You'd think comfort would be more important to people but they seem too do a good business. There isn't an appetizer on the menu under $12 or a dessert under $9. ?? That's fine if you only order one or the other. The Ruben was very good. It was the least expensive lunch entre at $15 for sandwich and fries. UGG. I'm getting old. This isn't fine dining by any stretch. They did have a nice selection of beers but beer and cocktails were at the top of the price range. There is just nothing to make you want to come back.

Yelp
I've eaten at Palmer's twice and both times the food was drinks were incredible! The roasted carrots alone are a MUST order! Service has been generally good, although I preferred table service to eating at the bar. My biggest complaint is that the restaurant is quite small so they fill up fast and the wait can be long. Nothing remarkable about the interior, just a cute restaurant

Yelp
Palmer never fails It's an amazing restaurant and the management is beyond accommodating If every restaurant in Peachtree city and Fayetteville was as delicious as my A1c would be in the quadruple digits !! But seriously, Palmer and their sister restaurant is incredible I've had several birthdays here and several meals now at the other restaurant at crossroads and the bar is amazing. The food is amazing. And the quiet outdoor dining area when there's no one playing instruments is one of the most wonderful places to hang out with your friends

Yelp
Great restaurant with a lot of options for everyone. The food is tasty and satisfying. There is a mix of different entrees to choose from. Their fish options are great, as well as their burgers and sandwiches. You can definitely change a side dish out without it being an ordeal. They also have different side dishes to choose from. The service is very prompt and attentive. The wait staff is excellent and knowledgeable. The restaurant feels like a casual upscale place that is very comfortable. Great casual local restaurant with an upscale feel.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere here! Outdoor seating is ample and comfortable. Food is really good and the service is awesome. Love the blue cheese chips.

Yelp
Bright some out of town friends here because of the menu that included several vegetarian plates. Sat outside on the patio. Had a great waitress. Friends loved the beer choices and the knowledgeable waitress to help guide them to the right choice. Enjoyed the sample of the beer. Appetizer of brisket nachos was so good! I got the French dip which was really good. Fries were some of the best I ever had. The table got the black and bleu salad, the fish sandwich and the cauliflower tacos. Everyone was more than pleased. The only downside was the parking and the hard time we had exiting the parking lot in an Excursion. We had gotten there early and there were plenty of spaces but when we came out, it was packed. Ended up having to back out of the parking lot almost the entire length of the parking lot because someone was blocking our path forward. Will definitely park across the way and walk over next time!

Yelp
ZERO COMPLAINTS. Everything came to us just the way we asked for it and tasted great! I'm so glad my husband and I finally decided to give Palmer's a shot, we definitely will be back! Also, the tunes being played, also a 10/10! The chicken wings were cooked to absolute perfection and super flavorful. The ahi tuna was also truly delicious, especially paired with the generous amount of avocado. My son LOVED the macaroni and cheese. LOVED IT and wanted more! The waitstaff were also VERY attentive and nice. All around a great spot!

Yelp
It had been over 5 years since I went to Palmers and it's still as good as I remember! My party of 4 (me, my husband + my parents) arrived at around 7:30 PM on a Friday night. We expected a long wait, but we were seated within 10 minutes. We were able to sit outside where there was live music. Although the music was a little loud, it was so nice to be able to listen to live music while enjoying our meal. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for the table - these were a hit! For an entree, I ordered the ahi tuna salad - it was good, but not nearly as flavorful as I would have hoped. My husband ordered one of the burgers, which was good, and my parents got the spinach & mushroom quesadilla and the fish tacos, which they both enjoyed. We had great service and overall good food, so I'd definitely come back for all of it!
google avatar

Yelp
Love hanging out at Palmers. You can always count on friendly staff and fun atmosphere. The back patio with lights is always a hit. Their appetizers are huge and delicious . We ordered a variety and everyone enjoyed their food. The highlights are their seared tuna and fried green tomatoes. I go back just for those! Highly recommend you check this place out if you have not already.

Yelp
We came here because I wanted to try Palmer's for awhile now. Secondly, it was my Sister's birthday Lunch. Great atmosphere, good food, and good times on a very nice Friday. There is patio seating which is covered. Service was friendly and quick. I had a good time here. Definitely want to come back and try other menu items. Birthday Lafy was happy with her burger, so that's a great sign. I'll be back!
google avatar

Sarah Jane T.

Yelp
My sister and I went here for our birthday dinner! Our entrees were very yummy, and there was a wide variety of options on the menu. Lots of drink options too, including mocktails! Our server was really kind and made sure we had everything we needed. My only complaint was the queso as an appetizer. It tasted like regular store-bought queso, and there were very few green chiles in it.
google avatar

Claude V.

Yelp
Palmers to me is like Cheers to me. Food is great service is great and the drinks are unique I have a 2 drink maximum whenever I go. Their drinks are rotational based on the season.
google avatar

Candace S.

Yelp
Ask for Maria! She is the best! I haven't been to Palmer's in years (maybe since the pandemic) and this was my husband's first visit. The food was awesome, we enjoyed the patio, and we can't complain about our drinks. Definitely a good choice on a Tuesday afternoon after appointments and errands.
google avatar

Greyson W.

Yelp
We can't wait to come back to Palmer's! Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but Holly made us feel like family by making awesome menu recommendations and assuring we had everything we need. Definitely try the fig and prosciutto flatbread!
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
Fantastic service! Food was amazing! Waiter recommended the blue cheese fries and they did not disappoint! Burgers were cooked perfectly and delicious!

Linda V.

Yelp
The blue cheese potato chips are a MUST!! A group of 5 ladies sample a sampler platter, the bahn mi grouper sandwich, a burger, a chicken sandwich and the Reuben sandwich. All were tasty and served hot. The atmosphere was fun and festive and server was excellent; she split up the checks without complaint and gave us plenty of time to chat. I'd definitely go back again if only for the blue cheese chips!!!

Yelp
We went to Palmer's for our 6th wedding anniversary with our 1 year old baby. It was a Saturday night and we enjoyed ourselves. We didn't leave anything on our plates, fantastic food and fantastic service. The kids menu is decent. Both the ribeye and filet were good, but I liked the ribeye slightly more.
google avatar

Ciara D.

Yelp
First time visiting. Super cute little restaurant in Peachtree City. Service was great. I had the ribeye and potatoes with fried green tomatoes. The mashed potatoes were from scratch and extra creamy and rich. The fried Green tomatoes was a bit under seasoned but the sauces on top gave it some flavor. My big issue was the plating of the steak, I ordered a medium well steak but my plate was a blood bath, which was a bit too much for my liking. However, all in all I'd visit this location again.

Yelp
We visited for my birthday last week. I wanted to go somewhere fun and casual with good food and vibe. Palmers was the natural choice! I've eaten at Palmers over the years for lunch and dinner, have brought family and out of state friends; I've never had a bad meal or service. In fact I'll buy gift certificates to give to clients and friends. This visit was different. Something was definitely off. For starters we ordered the brisket nachos with no onions (have had them numerous times). We were served a very small- literally one layer of chips with scant-maybe one tablespoon of brisket, and some cheese on top, nothing else on it. Clearly it was wrong. It seems it was prepared for staff maybe or a child? Also ordered the blue cheese chips (have had them before) and it was the same plating. One layer with bleu cheese dressing on top. We noticed other tables getting the size and plating we're accustomed to but didn't say anything to embarrass first time guests. Three of us ordered the "halibut". The portions were all different sizes- from one being an expected size to two others that appeared to be one portion cut in two. Two were served fish that was cool inside served with cold, off putting shitake mushrooms. The other had hot food and hot mushrooms. We mentioned to the server our food was actually cold and was hoping to get it heated. She said she'd be right back. A few minutes later the manager came over. He crouched down next to our table and stated the mushrooms are meant to be served cold ??? He went on to explain the difference between species of mushrooms, that shitake is meant to be served cooked and cold, and then left. Didn't address the cold fish too. So by his reasoning, if it's meant to be served cold, the other guest had it wrong- hot food and hot mushrooms? When he walked away, our guest (it was his first time dining there) said "He spoke down to you two like you're stupid". EEk not the experience we were hoping for. . . Thankful the company was great and we had a good time being together, the food was disappointing.

Yelp
12/16/2022 approx 6th Visit Chef eclectic menu. Have not had bad service here, always friendly and competent. Will list what we've tried so far..... Blue Cheese Chips-OMG good-I bluecheese on anything. Crab Cakes-yum-the chutney. Crispy Pork Belly-loved loved loved-just a touch crispier next time please. Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich-always delicious favorite of my son. French Dip-hubby's favorite goto sandwich. Palmer's Reuben-my favorite sandwich-hard to find on any menu-glad to have a close by yummy one. The Big Mike-hubby loves this burger. Brussels Sprouts-a great addition, love the prosciutto. Skillet Street Corn-very tasty. Brownie-very good. Key Lime Pie-so good we fought over it. LOL

Yelp
In the area, and this looked like a good place to try for lunch. And it was! I started with my fave Fried Green Tomatoes. Loved these. The flavors were so good. Next up was the Grouper Bahn Mi. This was an interesting take on a Vietnamese fave of mine. The flavors were almost there, but maybe it could've used a bit more pickled veggies or cilantro to kick it up a notch. Still pretty good though. The service was great! But because the door to the patio kept opening, I had to fight flies away the whole time. All in all, it's a nice local spot!
google avatar

Julissa B.

Yelp
Came here for Happy Hour Friday but unfortunately they did not have a HH! We however stayed and the food and service was great! Our server (Kyndal?) was so attentive a even though the place was fairly packed because of high school graduations. We ordered the Nachos and green tomatoes and both were delicious! We will be back to try their food. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Joy B.

Yelp
The absolute best turkey burger I've had. Great service. Parking lot is tight, but the only con I could ever think of. 10/10.

Marion W.

Yelp
Excellent food, service and ambiance. We had lunch on their patio with our two German Shepherds who lay quietly by our table. We felt very welcome!
google avatar

Sidney M.

Yelp
Great food and service. Fried green tomatoes are the best!! You will enjoy the selections.
google avatar

Dixine H.

Yelp
This place has fell off the wagon. Slow service, depending on what you order, the food may taste good to nasty, we waited almost 30 minutes before we were acknowledged at the table then decided to move to the bar, Patrick was friendly but it was only one of him so he couldn't tend to us as we wished. It took another 30 minutes to put in a food order after we gave him our drink orders. At this point, I was ready to leave because I was growing irritated. Our drinks come and our drinks were almost gone before the food came out and not once were we asked if we wanted more drinks or anything. The risotto was NASTY, dry and overcooked, the collard greens was so sweet (yuck) but my drink was strong! The menu is limited if you want to be satisfied, order anything deep fried. Anything else will be a disappointment. I don't think I'll come back here again. Good thing I didn't pay this time!
google avatar

Carol L.

Yelp
Nice location with outdoor seating. We had a party of 3 and decided to order a few appetizers and share them with the table. The food was great! I

Gustavo M.

Yelp
Food is meh at best. I've had better burgers at meat n great! The flatbread appetizer tasted like it came from Krogers next door. The Coke was good.
google avatar

Nathan O.

Yelp
Palmers is great, in a community of chain restaurants with subpar food and service, palmers is refreshing and unique! I have tried a multitude of items on the menu and they never disappoint, my favorites are the fried grouper sandwich and the french dip. Don't sleep on dessert either, not sure if this is seasonal but the Waffle with Carmel Ice cream was delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
We had lunch as three of us. The atmosphere was good and the food was delicious. I want to stop by with my husband, but unfortunately we are closed on Sundays
google avatar

Yelp
I travel for work in the area, and after a couple times in Fairburn, I heard I was in the wrong area and directed over to PCT. OMG I'm so glad I listened, especially for this stop. I started with dessert first which was OMG THE BEST DESSERT I HAD ALL WEEK HOLY COW. It was the Belgium waffle, and as someone who has traveled abroad, they do it right. Holy cow. I had a bourbon drink which was made to perfection. For dinner, I had the flatbread with the goat cheese, and again, didn't disappoint. To be honest, I'm thinking about the food just writing about it. Can I go back? I will literally travel there just for this. I sat at the bar towards the end of the dinner rush, so service was phenomenal. I always had fresh water in front of me and food was so quick. 10000/10 if I could give out bonus stars I would, this place was awesome.

Caren C.

Yelp
Took my granddaughters out to lunch and happened to be in the Palmers neighborhood. We were seated on the patio and it was pleasant enough and the service was friendly, cheerful , accurate and speedy. I've always had good food here. Their beef dip sand is delicious with a nice hoagie bun, melted cheese, caramelized onions and a rich au jus. Accompanied by great fries-only place I can finish them all. While my grands had chicken fingers and fries and a spicy buffalo crispy chicken sand. We had leftovers and this is one place that I'm sure to enjoy them the next day. They do take reservations later in the day and parking isn't a big problem but that's nothing to discourage you from trying this eatery. I will continue to stop by for a bite when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Visited from Santa Barbara, saw the good reviews and gave it a try. Hostess this evening super friendly, there was a short wait for their outdoor dining. Evening was super nice and their outdoor seating area is nice. Ambiance was very nice. Our waitress super friendly. We ordered the guacamole, the cod and salmon. The guacamole was ok, the salsa ok not spicy. I ordered their Mule cocktail, I've had many at different places and by far not the best, tasted very artificial lime taste. Their Salmon was very flavorful a def. Repeat for me. The cod was well season but that's pretty much it. Just felt the poblano cream lacked something, the sweet potatoe also needed flavor. Staff friendly,& ambiance was 5 stars. Food 4 stars some components lacked flavor.

Jim B.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to eat. Great menu selection. Consistent quality food, fun outdoor eating area, and excellent service. My favorite is the seared Ahi salad and a side of brussel sprouts. My husband enjoys the craft burger selections.

Yelp
Palmers fried green tomatoes are to die for. Service is always great and all food items delicious. But the tomatoes are my favorite!

Yelp
I was invited to lunch with old friends on this beautiful warm weather day. It was 79 degrees in Atlanta so why not try to enjoy a little something. The place of choice was Palmers. Never been here before today of heard of it even though I frequent Peachtree City. It's in the same area as the Kroger and Target bit not inside the shopping plaza. It's situated kind of behind Kroger. We were seated immediately to an outside table. I was happy because we are still practicing social distancing. Let's face it alfresco these days are where it's at. No confinement. We had a nice view of the road and the woods. Yes there are a lot of woods around the restaurant but that's a good thing. We had an amazing server unfortunately I don't remember her name bit she said she was from Key West Florida and she was super knowledgeable, gave great suggestions was attentive and personable. Very bubbly. We started off with appetizers. Fried Green Tomatoes. Presentation was beautiful. It literally made you want to try it even if you didn't like tomatoes. One of us don't but had some and she likes it. These were the best I've ever had. The candied bacon jam and the Pimento cheese took to another level. Lemon Pepper Wings- Perfect size. Crispy not soggy and the flavor was amazing. Not too salty. Also the blue cheese dressing I believe is made in house. It was delicious. I ordered Brisket Nachos and Brussels Sprouts. The nachos were good however the brisket was chopped kind of fine and tad dry. It didn't stop me from liking the nachos. I only wish it came with some sort of sauce to put over it. Brussels Sprouts- Roasted to perfection and so flavorful. They were a hit with me. Do yourself a favor and visit this very friendly establishment.

Yelp
Very good burgers ! Service was great! Going back. Would recommend trying it out! Busy was hard to get into.
google avatar

Terri D.

Yelp
I could simply order all appetizers and be happy. Fried green tomatoes, pork belly and the flat bread. Oh my.
google avatar

Edward C.

Yelp
I live in the area and passed it a couple times. Last night me and family were busy (school night) and decided to drop in for a meal. We were on the fence with dining in or out. We decided to dine in. After sitting there for about 15 minutes this guy shows up and he looked extremely disturbing, so at that point we chose take out. We ordered our meals (2 ribeyes , 1 filet and app). It took about 30 minutes when we went to pay they already had the tip included, that's not a problem when restaurants do that they do short themselves. The problem I hav is the paper tax @5% of my ticket which means I was taxed my tip also. I found this to be unacceptable and will not be back. Not to mention the food was just ok
google avatar

Coral H.

Yelp
The service was spot on with Briana tonight. She knew what we needed. She was attentive and willing to give excellent service. For this alone we will visit more often! The food was ready quickly and scrumptious! The spinach quesadilla we ordered as an appetizer instead was incredible. Their special salads are already amazing. Thanks for making it a special Veterans Day.
google avatar

Anna K.

Yelp
I called to place a takeout order, and got the Blackened Atlantic Salmon entree which is prepared gluten free. The person taking my order asked whether I have a gluten allergy or preference, which I really appreciated. When I picked up the order, the ladies who helped me were very friendly, and they reiterated to me, unprompted, that they made sure the chef knew it was a gluten allergy so as to avoid cross contamination. Again, I so appreciated this. The food was incredible - salmon was cooked perfectly, the portion was more than generous, and the flavors all went really well together. The quinoa salad was almost like fried rice, it was so good. I ate way more than I should have because it was that tasty. And it traveled well as a takeout order, which isn't always the case with fish. Overall I had a great experience and would definitely eat here again!
google avatar

Cassie H.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible burgers here. If you come before the dinner rush, there will be no one, but service is a bit slow. The blackened shrimp tacos weren't as filling as the burgers, but I highly recommend the Big Mike's burger! Easiest 10/10. The fries were a great pairing with it, but I promise you will be filled after this. The staff was friendly, but the tables were a bit sticky.

Scott T.

Yelp
The burger was dry and bland. Definitely not a proper smash burger. And priced at $14, definitely way beyond "inflation-rate" pricing. Who charges extra for a tablespoon of ranch dressing g to go with the fries? Palmers does. That's who. And I didn't ask for catchup, but they gave it to me anyway? Just cheezy. Service was good, and friendly, but the quality and value not sufficient to merit a return visit.
google avatar

Tammy V.

Yelp
First of all let me say I loooooved the burger I had. It was delicious. As were the fries that were cooked perfectly. My daughter had the salmon and loved it. The cocktails were great and the service was spot on.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
Great ambiance. Good food. Service has always been good too. A nice American restaurant.
google avatar

Kareem M.

Yelp
Had brunch on Saturday; parking is on the limited side so be forewarned. Restaurant itself was pretty cozy and the staff are pretty friendly and warm. We had Smoked Brisket Nachos with Gouda for our appetizers and it was so pretty large. The chips can get soggy toward the bottoms but it was very enjoyable and more than enough for two people. We asked if they could make an Arnold Palmer since it wasn't on the menu which they did. Had the Palmer's Turkey Burger which was pretty tasty. The turkey meat was slightly charred but the overall burger was still good. I would recommend this place.
google avatar

Meri K.

Yelp
Always love going there. The blue cheese chips appetizer are a must each time! Food is always good, and there is a great atmosphere. Great service as well!
