Palmitas Mexican Restaurant - Review - Lincoln Square - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Palmitas is a casual Mexican spot in Lincoln Square. In addition to tacos and burritos, they have chile relleno platters and Nayarit-style shrimp and fried fish. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - John Ringor

Great food, great prices, and great service! I stopped in at 10pm on a Friday with a friend and the waitress was very sweet, even giving us an extra plate of chicken they were working on for free with our order. The al pastor tacos especially are fantastic!

So excited to have delicious, well seasoned, affordable, quality tacos in the neighborhood! The service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was so lively and welcoming. The menu is massive with plenty of options for anyone to try. Not to mention their delicious fresh juices like pineapple and Hotchata. Will definitely be back very soon for more!

Palmitas Mexican Food just made it onto my favorites list. I had the best enchiladas rojas I’ve had in a long time—the chicken was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. We also ordered the Mojarra Nayarit (fried tilapia with Nayarit sauce), and it was outstanding—beautifully cooked and incredibly impressive. The fresh guacamole and light, crispy chips didn’t disappoint either. I also loved both their roja and verde sauces. Definitely check this place out!

I have been looking for a really good Mexican restaurant for 2 years now. This is hands down the best. Good servings. Well seasoned. Well cooked. Fresh. Our new favorite spot. Don't miss out on this gem.

Yelp
Tried the chicken tacos, rice, and beans, all were good. My wife got enchiladas, also very good. Place was super clean, people were super nice. All in all it was a good meal, and crazy cheap. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and order a couple steak tacos and guac and then go next door to Loafers and enjoy them with a couple of beers. It's pretty hard to beat! The two people who have been there every time I've visited have been super warm and you can tell they really care! Love that this spot is in my 'hood!

Yelp
My first time here. I ordered their Horchata to start it had just the right amount of sweetness,it's typically made from rice, water, cinnamon, and sugar, with a dash of vanilla. I liked the ambiance and our sweet, attentive waitress. I ordered the three taco rice/beans platter. I chose Chorizo which had good bits of tasty sausage, the second one was the El Pastor similar to chorizo chary bits and the last was the Steak Cecina is sliced beef and pork seasoned with chili peppers but it was a big disappointment, tough and chewy. I mention it to the waitress and she agreed but didn't take it off the bill.

Yelp
I came here for lunch recently. The lady that helped me was so welcoming and friendly! I'm happy to see a business in this once vacant spot. I opted for a vegetarian three taco dinner. I really enjoyed the tacos and the rice! I'm excited to come back soon and try more of their options especially the breakfast. The atmosphere is upbeat and lively!

Yelp
I dropped by this easy to miss spot for the first time yesterday and missing it would have been a mistake. Based on the saudero and cecina tacos I had, it's now one of my favorite taquerias in Chicago.

Yelp
The food is delicious, the enchiladas and tacos are especially good. I really appreciate their prices which are reasonable for the area, a lot of places charge too much for tacos in this area, but not Palmitas. I would especially recommend their drinks. Their pineapple water and watermelon juice are addictive and some of the best drinks I have ever had! The woman who works the register is lovely, she always has a smile on and will direct you to the best foods. Best Mexican food in the area for sure!

Yelp
The Tacos de Cabeza are the best that I've had in the north side you gotta try them. The waiter was also very friendly and welcoming. !!
