First off the manager was very friendly and helpful and got us an excellent waitress. Marissa never let my Diet Coke run out for more than literally a minute. I had the Palms gumbo and we shared the fried green tomatoes. Perfect. However if I wasn’t starving I would have had a cup of the gumbo instead of a bowl as by the end of the meal I was more than full. It was perfect and steaming hot as that’s the way I like my food. She who must be obeyed had the fish tacos and she loved them. I had a two item platter and it was great. An excellent portion although I would probably have preferred Basa instead of Flounder. But it was just an excellent experience all round. A bit pricey but still worth the price for all we had and the attention we received. The manager was a young man with a beard and pony tail and I am sorry I didn’t ask his name but he made us comfortable from the get go. We’ll be back for sure and I’m sure you have to get there early to get a seat. But I think the food and the service will be fine.

A real locals spot with great vibes and views. Delicious oysters and the best fish dip I have ever had. The pork grind combination goes perfectly with the smoky dip. Good music as well to help wash down the food. But wait, that's what they have the drinks for! Those are very good as well. Will be back for sure on our next drive near the area.

We picked this place last minute. Never been there. Was seated pretty quick and we chose outside. Colorful and comfortable. Shade or umbrella seating . Live band was a plus ! They were great guys. Easy on the ears. We had a server at our table pretty fast . Was told about drink specials , ordered and she was off to get them and back in a flash. Ordered Gator tail bites for our App and they were great. Decided on fresh Grouper sandwiches that were awesome. Lastly on a whim we shared a piece of KeyLime pie ! Oh wow , with Raspberry drizzled over top and that was nothing short of Amazing . Highly recommend! If you haven't tried Palms it's time to do so ;)

Google
It's a great location. The deck is beautiful and could be a really fun place for dinner. There was live music the evening we were there, unfortunately with far more volume than talent. Service was very friendly and helpful, but clearly overwhelmed. The menu is quite broad and includes the usual dishes and some more original recipes. We had oysters (steamed) and fried pickles for appetizers. Both were excellent. The oysters were cooked more than I prefer, but really tasty oysters. We had fried oysters and shrimp for dinner. The shrimp and oysters were excellent and cooked perfectly, but the breading could use more seasoning. All the side dishes were a bit disappointing. Nothing was bad, but none were really good. It was really disappointing to find that they didn't have local beers on tap, despite the information on the website. Dinner was fine but not great. A bit overpriced for what it was.

Google
Was there just for the boat launch. Heard nothing but good things about the restaurant and will be back to try it. If you catch it during weekday, plenty of parking for your boat trailer. Little rough getting in and out. Great atmosphere with the restaurant located at launch. More docks have been added but will get really crowded on weekend.

Google
Palms Fish Camp Restaurant in Jacksonville has some of the best and certainly the largest variety of any seafood joint I’ve ever experienced- and that includes alligator, of which I had never tasted prior to this visit. We sat on the deck outside overlooking the water and enjoyed the near-festival atmosphere of fishing derby announcements, and later, live music. Sharing a side of Gator Bites and the Palms Platter (Triggerfish, Fried Oysters, Fried Calamari, Corn on the Cob, Hush Puppies, Deviled Crab, Collard Greens), we were able to try quite a variety of different seafood and southern offerings; absolutely delicious. Service was outstanding; friendly, helpful, and prompt. Highly recommended.

Google
Great spot on the water close to Amelia and Huguenot Park. Everything was delicious our party of 12 was able to get a table right away on a weekend afternoon for late lunch. Drinks were also good.

Google
Delicious seafood platters and boils. Nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seatings. Suitable for all group sizes, I would definitely recommend to check this place if you are in the area and in the mood for some fresh seafood.

Yelp
food: shrimp, okay, cheese grits tasted like glue, cou not taste the cheese. hush puppies, dry. husband order oysters, floury tasting in the middle. his cheese grits same as mine. I'm a southern girl I know how grits should taste. Service was excellent, young man, very attentive. Ambiance, beautiful. very sorry to say I will not be back. very disappointed .

Yelp
The food was great. The drinks were really great and our waitress was even greater. I was stuffed, feeling my drinks, and asleep on the passenger side before we even got out of the parking lot. Will definitely be going back. We sat outside where they had live music and fans going to help with the heat.

Yelp
We tried the blackened fish taco (dry and missing onion straws), the shrimp and grits (served in a flimsy to-go container), and the island burger (just okay). The fries were actually pretty good. We really just wanted some good food to enjoy by the beach but overall, it was meh.

Yelp
We were STARVING and the food came in clutch, so good! Service was just okay. We shared a pick 3 platter with the fish, calamari and shrimp. Only thing we didn't care for was the coleslaw. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Road trip stop and worth it! Typical coastal bar vibes and food. Place is really done nice, clean inside and outside deck seating. Food was really good and service was friendly and timely! Jennifer was an excellent server.

Yelp
A great place to relax by the water. There's a boat ramp right there so after you haul out you can grab dinner and a drink or three. The food is okay and I wouldn't order any complex cocktails but when you want an unpretentious bar that you can feel comfortable, this could be your new home. Sunsets are beautiful out on the deck

Yelp
What can I say about this place? First off, I got great waterfront vibes even while seated inside as it was packed outside (picture perfect weather as the sunset over the water view.) The service was good for how busy it was, our server was friendly, courteous and funny. The food was pretty good, although I would've preferred fresh sides instead of what seemed prepackaged food. The entrée on the other hand was great! Both the wife and I got the special of the day, fish tacos, (grouper) with seasoned rice and fried crispy onions. Our friends ordered the skewers which had the shrimp and chicken, which also looked good. We got draft beers to wash it down, nothing special, just typical brews. I enjoyed the decor and the restroom was clean. It looked family friendly and it was cool watching folks dropping off their boats as we're leaving since we're right by the boat launch. Last note, they do offer a variety of different choices other than seafood for those who prefer traditional food. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a seafood restaurant with benefits.

Yelp
Came here on Sunday tor lunch and let me tell you it's busy and packed. If it's a nice day and you want to sit outside you might have to wait so a heads up . The food isn't bad, regular bar food. Cheap and they have weekday specials and happy hour . We tried oysters, the conch fritters, wings, and fried green tomatoes also a caesar salad . The wings were pretty good and so was the fried green tomatoes. However I do think that they should have a different dipping sauce for the fried green tomatoes . My only disappointment was the choices of liquor. Please get better choices of tequila from a tequila lover . Overall the service is good, shoutout to Matt he took great care of us and my crazy modifications.

Yelp
We had such high hopes for this place!! The view and atmosphere were exactly what I was looking for, but the food came up short in a big way. We were seated on the patio right away, the view was beautiful and the band was a Jimmy buffet vibe. I saw their signature cocktail "The Big Mary" pass by and was immediately impressed by the presentation. I ordered a piña colada hoping to have the same wow experience. Unfortunately I received a plain watered down premade mix that I am fairly sure was spoiled. It would have cost them next to nothing to add whipped cream, a cherry, and an umbrella at the least ...or at a minimum refrigerate the mix. The taste was rancid. We ordered the calamari and corn nuggets. Both tasted frozen. They were just okay. I ordered the whole fried snapper...a dish I order often..it was also frozen, not fresh. The batter had zero seasoning, and the whole dish tasted like it was fried in the same oil as the French fries. The coleslaw was also disappointing. Cabbage and warm mayonnaise. No seasoning. The cheese grits were definitely instant/microwaved. You could see the fake cheese bits and it was thick like jello. We also ordered the fried shrimp, not good. I only gave it 3 * because they are sitting in a gold mine. The view and atmosphere are the only thing going for it. If they could elevate their food and beverage program they'd give people a reason to drive 45 minutes to come back!

Yelp
I was on my way to Little Talbot State Park and decided to stop here for lunch first. I am so glad I did because it was outstanding. They have indoor, bar and outdoor seating. You have to sit outside because the vibe and the view are both great. On their outdoor deck they have bright colorful tables with umbrellas, all overlooking the water. The music was also good. The menu has plenty of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, seafood and entrees. I opted for the shrimp and scallops skewers. They also had peppers and onions on the skewer and were grilled. They came with rice but I asked if I could substitute another item and I was able to choose two other sides instead. I got the mixed vegetables and the collard greens and they were both great. The scallops were probably the best I have ever had. The skewers came with a parmesan garlic sauce for dipping and it was also delicious. Service was great from my waitress, Nicole.

Yelp
The server was prompt and polite. The food was good and plentiful. The prices are reasonable. The fried flounder tacos were tasty and the dish came with French fries and coleslaw though lacked vinegar and salt. Two others in our group had burgers which were cooked to their liking. The whole yellow tail fish was a bit fishy and not to our liking so I don't recommend that. The ambiance is your expected seaside decor which is fun and bright.

Yelp
My family stopped here for a quick lunch. Food was fine, ambiance made up for the mediocre food. They've got a nice patio and coastal Floridian vibe. Our waitress was nice and friendly, but very slow. We were only a party of three and the restaurant had many empty tables, so I'm not sure why it took so long. Here's the not so great end to our lunch: While leaving, I was walking down the steps and the stair literally broke under my foot and I fell down the remaining steps. I scraped up my arm pretty bad and had a few other cuts. Staff helped me get bandaged up and were quick to apologize. They claimed they were wanting to fix those stairs, so I'm not sure why they weren't blocked off or something. For reference, I'm a 20-something athletic girl, it's not like I was a frail fall-risk elderly person, so this should never have happened. It was nice that the staff wanted to help with the first aid kit, but they did nothing else to amend the incident (it would have been nice to have our drinks or something comped since my arm was dripping blood from their stairs lol). I could have given 1 star, but food was fine and it would have been a good experience except for the injury.

Yelp
We are rooting for this place. It's one of the only places in Jax (which is ridiculous anyway) that you can dock your boat and eat on the water. Everytime we go, our thought is: certainly the service won't be as bad as it was last time!!!!! Turns out that it is!!!! Apparently the management can't get it together to actually train people to wait on their patrons!!!! Every. Time. Please, I beg you, sell this place to someone who wants to actually please their customers!!!!!!

Yelp
Palms fish camp is a great little spot on the water, with a boat ramp and boat parking for a stop on the water. The menu is delicious, and offers a great value including prices on drinks. Service and atmosphere were stellar and we were able to pop in and get a great table immediately on a weekend day. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Awesome place! I will come back every time im in the area. Was in the area at the beach with a friend and there's something about sitting in the sun that really works up an appetite. We decided to sit inside to beat the Florida heat and that easily was the best decision. Sitting at the bar is easily the best way to get all the attention needed and the bar tenders were very much on it. It was very easy to order food and drinks. And everything came out perfect. 10/10 recommend .

Yelp
I love this spot & have been many times in its friends after the beach, this time came in for a date night dinner and drinks on a Friday evening. Good live band and not bad of a crowd! Sat on the outdoor patio. Our server JJ made our visit so memorable with her recommendation of key lime pie shots! plus all the food we had was delicious!

Yelp
Went to get lunch after paddleboarding, and lunch was delicious, ordered a pizza and side salad. They had live music our server was really nice kept checking on us and made sure we always had a drink. Will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Came here with my momma during her trip to visit me in JAX. Let me tell you, the food & service did not disappoint. No question about it, 5/5 stars. Food felt healthy yet still satiating, which is a difficult balance to achieve. In fact, it was so tasty I ended up eating a portion of my mom's meal after she hit her "I'm full" point . My suggestions include the coconut shrimp for appetizer and red drum blackened fish for main meal.

Yelp
Had a light lunch here with the folks on a lovely Saturday afternoon. My waitress was Abigail. She was a gem! The vibes on the patio were immaculate. Live music, great frozen drinks, fresh seafood...all I could ask for honestly! Be sure to check this place out if you're ever in the area. I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
Come here semi-often when I'm on this side of town. I have written multiple good reviews about the place and I try to only write good reviews but today's experience was so sub-par I had to mention it. Me and my friend ordered a bunch of appetizers and one of the specials which was a spicy chicken pizza (menu image below). We planned to just eat Tapas-style. We ordered the potato soup along with our other appetizers and specifically asked about bacon being in it and the waitress emphatically told us there was no bacon cooked into the soup, that it was only sprinkled on the top (I do not eat pork). We got all the appetizers and finished them all nearly before the pizza came out. when she set down the pizza I looked at it and it was covered in pulled pork. When I mentioned it to her she said, "Oh yeah, I noticed that too when I went to pick it up". The fact she still brought it out, set up the pizza stand, sat down the pizza and handed us plates became very strange. Made me wonder if she just hoped we would not notice. As she was telling us what happened (apparently the menu had the pizza name wrong and the description correct which you will see from the image) I looked down and saw bacon in the potato soup that I had been eating I just can't. She took the pizza and we ordered another one. As we were ordering the second pizza, we both said that we did not want black olives on the Greek Pizza. We both said multiple times we did not like black olives. Then the pizza came out with black olives. We told her that we just wanted to go and asked for the check after that. Then the check came out and had everything on it! Including the pizza we had sent back twice and the soup that was not what we ordered either! I asked for the manager and I have an update below. UPDATE: When we asked for the manager he came out and listened to the entire story and immediately made it right! He did such a great job and was so kind and really cleared up the situation. I still had pork for the first time in three years which makes me a little sick to my stomach but I will definitely be back since the customer service was so good from the manager. The waitress on the other hand, refused to take the bill and cash us out and we had to bring the bill to the front desk to check out. I believe one person does not ruin a business so we will return. This manager has brought my 1 star rating of this trip to a 3 star rating.

Yelp
Food was good. And was hot. And didn't take forever 20 minutes tops. Price was ok. Over all better then I expected. Will return again.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was great! Loved the giant pretzel! I would definitely come here again. Live music and great outdoor seating.

Yelp
Hubby wanted to catch the sunset Friday night after work and suggested Palms since it's close to home. I agreed to give them another try. The weather was great, minus the bugs! We enjoyed a bucket of Tangerine Wheat beers and coconut shrimp to start. These were very good. I decided to order the wedge salad with blackened shrimp. This salad was huge and I loved it! Absolutely no shortage of blue cheese dressing or crumbles. The bacon bits were housemade and perfectly cooked. The blackened shrimp were great as well. Hubby ordered the fried grouper tacos with French fries and corn on the cob. He really enjoyed his meal. The grouper was fried well. The French fries were crispy. The corn on the cob tasted very fresh. I'm glad I decided to give Palms another shot. We will definitely be back especially with the cooler weather coming in!

Yelp
Went here for a birthday party, the food was fresh and tasted amazing. I tried the gator tail here and LOVED IT, which is weird because I don't like gator tail from any other places. We sat out on the patio, there was a lovely breeze and it wasn't too hot since the sun was setting. Service was fast and easy since we knew one of the waiters at the time, he happened to be the birthday boys best friend so he made the experience much more special.

Yelp
Impromptu dinner with friends! Fabulous venue, excellent food, great service and million dollar views! Beautiful night on the river! Appetizers - Hawaiian Pizza, Calamari and Coconut Shrimp. Entrees - Cobia (fresh catch); Mayport Shrimp (grilled and fried); Po Boy sammie ... all plated and brought to our table by Haque ... he was a hoot! #saturdaynight #dinner #friends https://www.palmsfishcamp.com/
google avatar

Yelp
Not sure how I've overlooked this gem! Not crazy busy even on Friday night of Spring Break. Food was fresh, flavorful and plentiful (big portions). The highlight was our amazing server, JJ, that took great care of us, even answering my millions of questions!

Yelp
Last minute stop again with friends for their first time after a trip to the zoo. Tried some of the same and a couple new. Same: Jambalaya (very good), Fish Tacos (huge, very good), Salad (fresh- peppers, cucumbers, very good), shrimp salad (good, but the shrimp were cool this time- maybe cooked or ready before our other meals? So not as good). Fried pickles- yummy, light batter. New: Mango old fashioned- really good- not a sweet flavor, just a light fruit taste to it. Pizza- to be fair my friend had this- said it was good, but nothing special although they said the flour is from Italy Fries shrimp platter- ok, not super large shrimp for claiming 'Mayport shrimp' on the menu, but ok. Side of cheddar grits- ok only, very thick texture almost closer to a rice, a bit dry. Coconut rice- they did not like, no flavor and hard). . Coconut shrimp- ok. More of a mix between fried and coconut- more cooked/darker. View- gorgeous, music nice but super loud for the small patio so stay inside for more talking (we were ok). Service- Good, nice server and quick seating as always. Tips: Dusk brings a lot of gnats there, they do have spray on hand. We will be back, good easy spot when out this way.

Kaden K.

Yelp
We came here to try a new seafood place and we were not impressed. Food was not good. Conch fritters and blackened shrimp were decent, but everything else was terrible. Hush puppies were burnt and flavorless, fried shrimp tasted like they were boiled then fried with not great batter, fries were very salty. For the price you expect the food to taste good.
google avatar

Charlene W.

Yelp
As usual the meal was delicious and sitting outside watching the river activity was relaxing. The staff has always been professional, ensuring you're doing ok a reasonable times throughout the meal.
google avatar

Whitney S.

Yelp
This was a great after beach stop. We had the shrimp and grits and crab legs. The gator tail and smoked fish dip were also a great choice.

Dan P.

Yelp
Sambo and I love this restaurant! At times we go solely for the tremendously delicious bread pudding dessert, and we've been known to have more than one helping. We also order various blackened fishes with two sides. Stella Artois is my beverage while Sambo gets water. The wait staff is very nice to us, and they call Sambo, "Mr. Handsome." I'd say the service is very good to excellent in the context of a fish camp restaurant along the riverfront. Back home whenever I say, "Bread pudding," or "Fish Camp Restaurant," Sambo wags his tail and sometimes rolls over to show his belly. There is nice seating outside including a covered venue that provides protection against the sun. The parking lot has ample room for cars.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
Decent seafood and extra nice staff! I was here on a visit and had lunch with my dad. Ordered the Shrimp & Grits. The serving size was very filling and delicious and thankfully I left room for a bread pudding dessert. The only thing missing would be prices on the physical menus. It would help to estimate total cost, even if some might change due to market value.

Yelp
Yesterday I went to Palms Fish Camp with my mom for a late lunch. We sat outside and had a gorgeous view. We sat and waited for our server for a while, but once served she was very sweet and apologetic about the wait. We ordered our drinks and food and enjoyed the live music. Yes, live music! It was definitely was a vibe! I got the Palms Punch and it was delicious! We got coconut shrimp as an appetizer and it was delicious dipped in the orange marmalade. I got the Palmbalaya and my mom got the Baja Tacos with fries and okra. Both entrees were great! The Palmbalaya is their Cajun take on Jambalaya. The creamy bacon sauce on top of the rice and shrimp were delectable! I would suggest anyone to try this dish! Overall, Palms Fish Camp was a great place to dine and hangout at. It's located very close to Huguenot beach, so after you get your beach on, go check them out for some great food and drinks!

Yelp
Outdoor seating is the best with the breeze, view of the marsh and sunny skies. They have daily specials and their food is good seafood.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to go have a late lunch at Palms, On this memorial day Sat outside, it was a hot day Had the fan on us Order drinks, waited a while when one of my drinks didn't have so I decided not to get a drink My husband drink came Then we ordered our meal It took time to get to us I had the blackened shrimp It was Over cooked So I sent it back, and received my blackened shrimp it was still a little over good , my husband had blackened scallop He said it was good Then we ordered drinks Well, server said they only had two Bar tenders they were back up, we waited again for a while So we said cancel the drink orders We paid our bill and lifted We have eaten here before Maybe it was a bad day For Palms Fish Camp It seem unorganized

Yelp
Awesome dinner for 16 folks on a very busy weekend. Erica was awesome in setting us up outside, Libby amazing in keeping libations and awesome food coming for such a large group, food was incredible from pizzas to seafood dishes to burgers, and the music on the deck was awesome. Our annual stop after a great Florida Georgia game. 5 stars excellent and fun. We shall return!

Yelp
I had such a great time at the Palms Fish Camp on Saturday night. It was packed when we got there but food and service were amazing and fast. Tasty food and amazing views of the sunset and dolphins, and the service was phenomenal. We had nova last night and she was so friendly, attentive and on top of things she's the best! The Live Music was so talented we loved him. I left my compliments on the service to the manager and everyone who would listen. We are to come back with the whole family next time

Hannah K.

Yelp
HORIBBLE SERVICE!!!! The server and the MANAGER were right off the bat rude so beyond. Then when some people tried to order drinks (we are all over the age of 21 and are just starting our night-NOT DRUNK AT ALL) she completely denied us and the manager backed her up. What!!!!!! Yes we all look young but we're all 21!!!!!! We have our ID's!!!!!! Absolutely crazy. She made rude comments "wow ur young" "honey you've had enough" mind you she tried to only order her SECOND DRINK!!! Never again. My friends are hot so I'm sure it was jealousy. Booooo (her name is Nova H. btw)

Yelp
Swung by here in our way from JAX to St. Augustine and had a delightful late lunch. Boiled shrimp was delish. Would come back again.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meals. My husband had the catch of the day blackened it was Trigger fish, which we had never heard of. He gave me a bite it was so good. I had grouper tacos also very good. Great service and atmosphere. Very casual.

Yelp
Great place. Had a business lunch we had the special which was $10/lb for crab legs they were awesome. I had the Lobster Bisque and Brian had the gumbo. Both were great and loaded with meat. We were seated quickly and the service was phenomenal. The restaurant is water front with a great patio both covered and open.

Yelp
Went again recently with my family since they live down the road. The experience was honestly very enjoyable! Food took a little while and bathrooms need some TLC but they had live music playing and despite some mist and rain they still kept spirits up. Really glad they figured out some of the behind the scenes stuff

Yelp
Recommended by the owner of our AirBnB and we are very glad he did! Food was delicious and plentiful (to go box needed). Sage, our server, was efficient, friendly & knowledgeable even though he said he was fairly new there. I saw all the servers smiling and moving quickly to their guests. I am from Louisiana originally, so I'm darn picky about my seafood. I ordered Shrimp & grits and can definitely recommend them. My daughter had the fried shrimp plate and she was equally pleased. As we are in town for the Luke Combs concert. We decided to order one of their pizzas to have tomorrow. It looks delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant for taste and service and very reasonable prices.

Yelp
Beautiful setting and wonderful service from Ronnie for our first visit to this local restaurant. They serve locally caught fish, Mayport Shrimp and delicious Gator Tail. The Fried Green Tomatoes with Crumbled Blue Cheese was epic. Ask for a side of Ranch for dipping. The scallops and shrimp kabobs were seasoned and grilled perfectly. And the Coconut Rice and Cheese Grits are just heaven. Start with the Fried Calamari because they are really tasty and relax out on their deck if weather permits. Beautiful location and amazing service! Definitely will be back!

Yelp
I love The Palms, not so much for the food but for the atmosphere and the friendliness of the servers. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but it is just a fun atmosphere. When we are up this way, this is my wife's favorite spot. They have good drinks, good appetizers and great seafood. And when we want take out, you can choose that menu or get some wood fired pizza (my favorite is the Mediterranean). Want something different - try burgers with oysters Want something infesting - Baja tacos (not my fave) Good choice - Friend shrimp platter Better choice - Grilled shrimp platter Feeling carnivorish- Meat eaters pizza Feeling exotic - Hawaiian pizza - (too little pineapple and too much ham, but still good) Favorite pizza for me - Mediterranean pizza - a little on the salty side, but still...... They get busy, so don't be in a rush. They will get to you, treat you like family and take care of whatever your palate desires.

Yelp
Food was great, service was great, sitting outside by the water was great. Ambiance was friendly and typical for a small fish camp restaurant. Recommend!

Yelp
10 out of 10 - would eat here again. "Palmalaya" with Parmesan sauce drizzled over the top was out of this world. Thank you Layne for suggesting it and being a great server! Excellent service, cool, laid back vibe and 5 star food. Only regret is that I don't live closer.
google avatar

Yelp
We go here all the time. The appetizers are the bomb. We've tried them all. Great jobs Chefs. Burgers always good. The clam chowder was full of classic and tasty but needed thickness. All and all great service.

Yelp
Server wasn't told of her table and may have forgotten us. But management came after I asked and we were take. Care of. Food is excellent. You have a better chance of being seated outside on a hot day without a wait. We waited 20-30 for inside on a Sunday. No biggie for us, though! Worth the wait.
