My mom and I dined at Paloma Suerte about a year and half ago upon visiting the Stockyards in Fort Worth. We had a lovely experience here and were amazed with quality, presentation, and taste of the food. Along with the amazing food, the ambiance was really festive due to the colorful decorations incorporated in the restaurant. We returned to the Stockyards with my father and sister this time around. This was their first time here! We weren't planning on eating at the Stockyards but found ourselves to be hungry for a late lunch, so I suggested Paloma Suerte. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and we were seated inside quickly. The interior of the restaurant hadn't changed since our previous visit. It has a modern, industrial theme to it with pops of bright, vibrant colors. The eatery is unique and I really appreciate the lively ambiance it has. The patio/outdoor space is also lovely with colorful decorations strung into the trees. However, this day it was too hot and humid outside to enjoy the patio, so we opted for the indoor option, which was cool and inviting! It is also very clean and well maintained. The service is excellent and our waitress was extremely helpful and friendly. She was knowledgeable about the various menu items and was able to provide us with insight as to what was best to order. She was super upbeat and seemed to really enjoy her job too.
You are served complimentary chips and house made salsa. The chips aren't too greasy and have the perfect amount of salt. The salsa is fresh with a lot of flavor. The salty chips paired with the flavorful salsa was perfect on that really hot day! My dad and sister ordered the Beef Short Rib Birria Tacos and I ordered the chicken quesadilla. All the plates come with complimentary rice and beans. A large portion of both rice and beans is served for everyone to share. The rice and beans were amazing with great texture and flavor, just as I remembered. They are better than your typical Mexican rice and refried pinto beans. The beans are really creamy and the rice had tomatoes and spices added to it to elevate it. The birria tacos included two decent sized tacos stuffed with juicy short rib meat and cheese. Then they are topped with fresh onions and cilantro and served with individual consumme for dipping. Both my dad and sister were more than satisfied with their tacos. They were nicely presented and had copius amounts of meat in them. The meat was juicy and tender with a lot of flavor. Our waitress was able to explain to us that the consumme was the meat drippings from the short rib as it cooks. She also told us that is was tradition to drink the consumme after you finished the tacos. Which both my dad and sister did! My chicken quesadillas, which our waitress recommended, were delicious. Stuffed with plenty of juicy chicken and cheddar cheese. Along with freshly made pico de galo, guacamole, and sour cream served on the side. They use cheddar cheese, which isn't authentic, but it was still really tasty. There was plenty of chicken included in the quesadilla and the cheddar cheese was really sharp. This was definitely better and more flavorful than your standard chicken quesadilla. The tortilla wasn't too thick and was nice and crispy, as well as the edges of the cheese! The guacamole was really fresh and creamy, it was amazing. The pico was also fresh and I liked how it was diced finely. This was a really good dish and I would recommend ordering this. It was very filling and satisfied me. My mom also enjoyed her margarita and my liked his beer.
Overall my whole family enjoyed our unplanned meal at Paloma Suerte. I loved returning to this eatery and didn't leave disappointed. The quality is still high, as I remembered. The ambiance is lovely and provides for a fun dining experience. The service is inviting and very efficient. The servers seem to know the menu very well and can explain the various aspects of the many dishes in detail. If you are looking for some good, unique Mexican food while in the Stockyards, I would highly recommend trying Paloma Suerte!
