Retro Planes Are Getting Second Lives as Bars and Restaurants

"The Pan Am Experience, produced by Air Hollywood in Pacoima, California, transforms a warehouse into a set resembling a 1970s Pan Am 747-200 plane. It features a two-story cabin, vintage flight attendants, and pre-flight announcements. Offered twice monthly, tickets are sold in pairs, with the Upper Class option including a 6-course meal for $875 per couple."

Pan Am Experience - Review - Burbank - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Located on an old movie sound stage in Pacoima, here you’ll be eating dinner inside a replica of the airline’s famous Boeing 747, furnished with memorabilia from actual Pan Am airplanes, and being served by a wait staff dressed in vintage Pan Am uniforms. It’s hard to tell if this place is a restaurant, a living museum, or a Britney Spears’ Toxic fever dream, so if anybody actually scores a ticket here (there’s only one seating a month), please let us which one it ends up being. Pairs of tickets start at $475 per person." - Brant Cox

Google
One of a kind experience that will make you feel as though you've stepped back into the 1970s. The owner is very involved and really cares about each and every customer who walks through his doors. Based on my research, it seems that the experience continues to get better over time as more and more feedback is incorporated into the event. Highly recommend, especially to those interested in aviation!

Fabulous, fantastic... there aren’t enough adjectives to describe this experience! Having flown in 747s in the 197’’s, I was amazed at the fine details of both the aircraft interior and the exception service. If you’ve been on the 747, this will take you back in time, if you haven’t you will be astonished at the luxury of air travel in it’s golden era. Either way, this is an experience worth every penny of your ticked cost. PS the food is delicious! Do wear era-appropriate clothing if you can - you will maximize the fun!

This has been one of the most fun nights of my life. The food was excellent and the ambience was totally on point. I cannot say enough good things about this unique experience. It's totally worth every penny.

Talaat and Anthony were amazing hosts and you can’t beat the experience. In addition to the experience, there was a studio tour given by the owner of the studio. You’ll find that Air Hollywood does so much more than just PanAm and they help autistic kids as well as those who fear flying.

Where else in the world can you time travel to the end of the Golden Age of Airline travel? It’s pure fun and commercial aviation nostalgia that includes full First Class food and drink service along with an amazing stewardess fashion show and a party atmosphere from start to finish. PanAm made the going great and so does Air Hollywood!

What a fantastic experience! For a semi-avi nerd, I was thrilled to see such a "experience" existed. It truly is an authentic experience. Food, alcohol and music was all fantastic. Reccomend to anyone- avi nerd or not!

Yelp
I had so much fun! It's an open bar. There is so much authentic touches to this experience. I enjoyed the memorabilia--it was actually educational getting to know the history. The food was great and the entertainment was awesome. I loved seeing the in flight fashion show.

Yelp
I just walked in this hidden gem, this place is amazing, they do parties more for high end first class experience, Anthony gave me a tour of the place and services they offer, from caviar to serving sparkling wine, can't wait to have a party here!

Yelp
Updated: So management finally called me when I was on the plane to the funeral. He told me that I should have called two weeks ago and then they may have been able to reschedule me. It was very hurtful because I could not have possibly planned when my grandfather was going to die, and I called as soon as I had gathered my wits about me. He ended the call by telling me that he would try to see what he could do, and then he never got back to me, leaving me unable to give the tickets to someone else. He was able to pocket all that money and not even have to serve food or drinks to someone.
