"On a corner of Ferry Street in Fair Haven sits Puerto Rican and Latin bakery Pan Del Cielo 2. Tempting display cases greet walk-ins, encouraging a quick selection of savory beef patties or sweet-tart pineapple cheesecake, but don’t overlook the opportunity to order a sandwich like the mi cielo (roast pork, pastrami, and bistec fixed on pillowy lard-enriched pan sobao) or a hot special like fluffy Ecuadorian quimbolito, a steamed corn cake studded with raisins. If you can score a spot on the single sunny window bench, you can sit a spell, but this is primarily a takeout place." - Stasia Brewczynski

Some of the best quesitos I’ve had since I was in PR!! Super affordable and the flan is amazing too. I’ve never had them before the other day but the large coquitos with guava 10/10!!

Pan del Cielo in New Haven, Connecticut, is a gem of a bakery that lives up to its heavenly name. This small business has been delighting locals for years, and it’s easy to see why. The bread here is always fresh and delicious, making every bite a pleasure. Their ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches are simply to die for. Each one is made to perfection, with the ideal balance of flavors and textures. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast or a quick lunch, these sandwiches are a must-try. But the delights don't stop there. The baked goods, like their flan and cream cheese pastries, are absolutely divine. Every treat is crafted with care and tastes like a slice of heaven. Pan del Cielo's dedication to quality and flavor has kept them thriving in the community for a good reason. If you're in New Haven, do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful bakery. You won't be disappointed!

A variety delicious & authentic Caribbean, and Latin American baked goods & treats. Their 3 leche is always my fav. And their bakery bread is out of this world one of a kind. It doesn’t get any better than Pan Del Cielo. Closest tasting to home.

Just received a box of quesitos yesterday. Ate most of it and left one for today. Sadly it was on that one where I realized the cheese on the inside was full of fuzzy green mold. I spit up what I could and threw the rest out. All night with a mysterious stomach pain has now been explained. I never write reviews or call but today I am doing both. Shame on them there is no way that fuzzy mold can grow like that in a day or two. They must have been extremely old. Anyway I will be avoiding this place in the future and suggest you do the same.

Yelp
We came here for a food tour and absolutely loved everything we tasted. Our favorite was the vanilla cream pastry. Their empanadas and croquettes were tantalizingly good as well! The family owners were very friendly and showed us the best hospitality. We will be back.

Yelp
Guava heaven. I'd been introduced to guava pastries on a visit to Tampa and figured I'd never see them up here... but wait! Here is Pan Del Cielo 2 to the rescue. On my first visit, there were at least 4 different pastry types filled with or topped with guava, as well as generous use of pineapple, my second favorite pastry filling. I'd expected a limited selection of baked goods, but the cases of pastries and desserts were on a par with what I see at the Italian bakeries. Do you need Puerto Rican pastries in your life? Yes, you do. The selection runs more to puff pastry and soft yeast doughs than what I've seen at Mexican panaderias in the west (which is fine by me, I am delighted by anything filled). There are also sandwiches on the menu which, um, I was so excited by pastries that I forgot to order one. Maybe next time. Staff was super-nice. Prices are very reasonable.

Yelp
Great pan sobao, pastelitos de guayaba, pastries in general all great. Had a pork/ pernil sándwich very acceptable to take out. Returning every weekend for bread!!!

Yelp
Amazing Puerto Rican and Latin bakery that has been an integral part of the local community for nearly 15 years. When you walk in, you can tell that this is a regular for many families- whether it's grabbing a pastry, breakfast sandwich, or coffee to-go before work; bringing the kids on Saturday mornings, or stopping by for a snack after school or work. The staff are so nice , they start to feel like family over time. And the prices are such that it can become a staple, rather than an occasional treat, which I love! They've got a wide selection of pastries and some breakfast items, but the guava pastries, tropical juices, and tres leches are my favorite!
