Dismal experience.
Wrote two feedback forms, one through direct email, and one through the feedback forms on their website. Feedback was not addressed, no replies were given.
Just to highlight some of the shortcomings of this hotel:
1. Pool is poorly maintained. Bar felt dirty. Chairs were all dirty and covered in dirt and hair. Drain was making gurgling sounds that made relaxing difficult. Staff at bar was hiding in the shadows, refusing to come out unless being yelled at so we can order a drink. Didn’t bother to clear the dead leaves on the table while we were sat there.
2. Room was dismal. Booked the one with a balcony overlooking the pool. 0 stars. Felt enclosed, everyone could look into your room. Other guests hung their laundry on the railings, couldn’t take pictures of the beautiful architecture. Visible signs of wear in the room, bad workmanship of materials. Not a 5 star room, not something i would have happily paid $600sgd for one night.
3. Miscommunication at check in, lack of service recovery. Clickbaited by their website. Staff were just doing bare minimum, not above and beyond as a 5 star hospitality experience should be. Some examples: bellboy squeezing into lift, staff were unhelpful in the face of problems (room service menu not working), not offering us a seat or a drink at check in, prior hotel requests not even seen.
4. Despite being in orchard, it was right beside the ever elusive, beautiful orchard towers. Full of shady individuals, difficult to walk out.
