What a gem!!! A hole in the wall. My peerssss I highly recommend thid place!!! ! OMG, Oan Rico. COLOMBIAN RESTAURANT and bakery, the Beef Costilla soup is the best in houston, empanadas, not too much of a fan, but they are good. Cafe con Leche is excellent. Service is fast, and the food is fresh and delicious. Ms. B is superb. The bakery section has a great variety of sweets and savory breads. Please look at the pictures, and if u are hungry for some down to earth, home delicious style food... then this is your place!!!

I have been visiting pan rico many times now, I come here for the empanadas only. They have the best apple and pineapple filled empanadaa. I understand this restaurant has food and other pastries, but I have not tried them.

Delicious authentic Colombian food, the pandebonos, arepas and caldo de costilla never disappoint. Berenice and the rest of the staff are always attentive to the customers and make you feel welcomed.

I love this place. Authentic Colombian food like at home. The breakfasts are fantastic, it's like being in Colombia, ideal when you've had a night out and want to eliminate your hangover. I recommend the "Caldo de costilla"

This place is always good to go for some authentic home style Colombian food. Their bread and regular plates are very good. They do not disappoint. Prices are reasonable.

I love it here! At least once a month I stop in with my family for an authentic Colombian bakery and food. The staff is the same friendly faces each time. The service is quick but sometimes it is really busy so a wait can be expected. Worth it! The restaurant gives a home style vibe and it is family friendly. I come in to dine and will always take yummy cholo (corn) arepas home and some delicious empanadas.

These are my go to empanadas colombianas and la picada is so good also. My kids also love the Baker goods mil hojas and the dedos con queso. Good service also.

Comida increíble! solía ir siempre aquí en el instituto y comer bien. El pollo con arroz y frijoles es bueno. Mi favorita es la bandeja paisa, comida colombiana muy autentica.

Old school Colombian spot! The rice and beans definitely is the key for me after working all day. Good spot very traditional and got lots of goodies on side ready to go !!! This place definitely needs more love and traffic food is very good !!!

Been coming here for years now, every Sunday. The food has always been great & also their smoothies! Despite that it can take a little longer than usual to receive your food, they're always busy and completely understand that there is not a lot of staff serving the food. This place will always be my go to for Breakfast!

Been Going to Pan Rico for years. If you feel like trying Colombian pastries, coffee and other goodies I recomend this place. Only place in Houston were I can find masato (tipical rice beverage) plus their pasteles are awesomeness.

The baked goods here are simply AWESOME! I'm a newbie when it comes to Columbian food, but OMG... first try and I've returned every chance I can get. I've actually had them prepare some pastries in mass for an office party and the staff at PanRico were really helpful, everything was prepared perfectly, and they were a hit at the party. I'm rarely on this side of town... but gish... every chance I get I must stop in and get SOMETHING... it's all so good. I'm an addict! :)

If you give this place more then 1 star you really are bad reviewer and you need to try real Colombian food. This place is just...Bad food and really bad bakery!!! This colombian bakery seems to be one of the most popular places for local colombians to hang out, even though it is in a run-down strip mall. Apparently the draw here are the food, the basic colombian baked goods and plenty of colombian souvenirs adorn their walls. They also have plenty of snack food, colombian style. I wouldn't really come here for the food but I would come here for the baked goods as this place is supposed to be a panaderia (bakery) to start with. The owners are friendly.

For more than 15 years this has been a frequent breakfast place for my wife and I. The food has always been fresh and delicious. Service has always been prompt and courteous. My personal favorite are the buñuelos and almojabanas. Is nice to have a little place to remind me of the food of my homeland Colombia (NOT COLUMBIA).

Empanadas are on point, and all the pastries are delicious, pretty big plates of food for a pretty good price! I get Huevos Pericos almost every morning for breakfast since I work across the street, but all their breakfast is great too, nice little hidden Colombian spot in the neighborhood!

I love Pan Rico for what it is. I suppose my East Coasters would call it a Bodega of sorts... Small hole in the wall counter service bakery/minimart/lunch gathering place. Closest thing I have found to Bogota here in Houston. Morcilla is excellent. Colombian tamales are outstanding. Pan de yuca is not only the best I have had, but they sell me their homemade dough to make at home so I can have a fresh one for breakfast on whim. Over the top? I can buy the ingredients for Ajiaco, including the elusive spice guascas, to prepare at home.

Really liked this little place! Very clean nice bakery & could even accommodate my lack of knowledge of the Spanish language :) Lived the meat & potato empanadas & the cheese arepa. The sweet dessert pastries are amazing especially picada!!

First time here did not like it at all. Food took forever to come out.. food was cold . Rice served cold.. Bad service first and last time here.. I do not recommend this place to anyone!!! This a Colombian place they supposed to serve Colombian !!! They serve Folgers coffee 'Really'

I love this Colombian bakery! My family and I think their empanadas are the best you can get in Houston. Their food is very authentic and the staff is friendly. I always get the empanadas with the green aji sauce. Their fruit juices are delicious too. I like their guava with milk smoothie. The cheese stuffed arepas go great with their chorizos. Lastly, their dulce de leche pastries called "milhojas" are divine!

An ethnic escape into South America right here in Houston. Tropical Colombian music with variants of salsa and cumbia playing along with any given soccer match on the television. Now to the important part. Food is first rate and service is excellent. Family oriented staff. My favorite dude is the man with a scorpion tattooed on his neck. We had two orders of half chicken portions with rice, fries and beans and four empanada's which go excellent with the spicy green sauce along with a two liter of Colombian Apple Postobon soda for about $20. Their scrambled eggs are scrumptious and I would definitely try their Horchata. I've been going here for years with my family and consider it our second kitchen when we don't want to cook. If you want to taste true authentic South American food, this is your spot.

Service is fast and their food is delicious. I like their arapas de queso. They have a variety of food and bread which is a plus because it can be a one stop for both instead of going to a different place

If you are looking to try some non-alcoholic drinks native to Colombia, this is a good place to try. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but all right. If you are adventurous enough, I recommend anyone to try the masato, it's a rice fermented drink; it has a bitter taste with a kick of love and sweetness. Cost: $1.60 Also try: Kumis, its colombia yogurt, very similar to the Indian drink "Lassi" it tasted similar to sweetened original yogurt crushed with some ice. It's pretty good, definitely worth trying if you want to get a "taste" of drinks endemic to Colombia. Also, try to "jugo de maracuya" its probably one of the more popular juices, its a juice of passion fruit. They import the frozen pulp from Colombia, you can also purchase it(the pulp) there for about $6.00, and you can make about 6 servings with it. The juice already made costs about $2.00 per cup. Pastries: some are great, but I think you have to try to get there at the right time, otherwise you get some nice dried bread with a lot of flavor. Try the "pan de yuca" its a cheesy bread, and I believe they only sell it in the weekends. Try also the Bunuelo, its bread/snack, it looks like a little ball probably the size of your fist. It has a very distinct simple flavor, but its very popular in Colombia. The tamales are also very different than the Mexican or venezuelan tamales, I highly recommend them.

30 minutes for chicken and no water with 12 people eating in on a Tuesday. Enough said

i got the Milhojas omg i died and went to heaven it was so light so delicate and perfect amount of sweet..the best pastry ive had in a long time! unfortunately i have not had the pleasure of actually visiting the bakery, my friend got it to go and handed me one of the Milhojas...i live in the med center but believe me i am going to make a point to go to that part of town alot more now..thank you Pan Rico

I love coming here at least once a week for a quick morning snack or lunch snack. I recommend trying everything because you can't go wrong with any of their food. Their chicken cakes are the best ones I've ever had. One thing that really annoys me is the fact that they stop makings lot of their food 2 hours prior to them closing.

I love this place! Super friendly service and yummy fresh food. Plus the cumbias they play are legit! You must try the empanadas Colombianas. Crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. They make a good beef soup on Saturday and Sunday. Yellow corn arepas with cheese are sweeter than the white ones. Pan de bono has good cheese taste. Yucca frita is delish. Mil hojas are filled with cajeta...the portion has shrank but still worth every penny. Fruit juices are soooo good. You can get them made with water or milk. My fave is pinapple with water. Leche con cafe is also super tasty. I love this place and it beats the other Colombian bakeries in flavor, atmosphere, and price. I feel like I'm in Colombia here. Definitely worth the drive to come here for a great weekend breakfast. Oh and the huevos pericos are good too. Eggs scrambled with onions and tomatoes. Happy eating!

Oh my gosh just by thinking of this place makes me hungry. I can't come here all the time, because I live on the other side of town. But when I come to visit my Parents I always make sure I get something from this place. Now if you are Colombian, have been to Colombia, and or was born in Colombia you all know that the food in Colombia is sooo good. The food is really hard to mimic here in the states so when I came across this place and tasted their food it is just like the food over there in Colombia almost exactly. It makes me think I am in Medellin all the time. They sale what not a lot of other Colombian restaurants around the Houston Area sale. You have to try all of the food there. I strongly recommend trying the Pasteles either chicken or meat, bunuelos, empanadas, picadas, and their dedo de queso(Finger of Cheese). The owners are always working, they greet everyone there, and make you feel welcome. I love Pan Rico!!

The price is fair and the food is very good. Favorite and most reccomended pastry has to be the Milhojas, very sweet with its layers of thin bread and caramel or cajeta tipped with powdered sugar. The empanadas are also very good and are only $1 each! For $1 each it's a way better alternative then a dollar menu item at McDonald's lol .

I came here on an early weekday morning with a friend. Its a little mom and pop shop. Its a Columbian bakery. I've only tried the empanadas and it is very fresh and tasty. Especially with the green sauce. Must try!

After reading all the positive reviews about this café, I decided to visit for the first time yesterday (Sunday) morning after church. The place was bustling with a lot of patrons, and the vibe was lively and welcoming. Several reviews noted the good coffee, so I ordered a cup of coffee and an empanada to go. Both were delicious and fairly priced. Next time I may try an entrée. This was my second ever visit to a Colombian restaurant but will not be my last to Pan Rico. Highly recommend!

This Colombian bakery is great! All their food taste homemade. I highly recommend their empanadas, arepas con queso, and tipico mixtio ($4). Yum!!!! You have to call a day before for large orders.

I have been going here since I was in elementary school. I am now in my 30's and I still love this place! You can't beat the empanadas or pan de queso, boñuelos, the entrees...Yum! Every thing I ever order is just delicious! I love that I am always greeted by the OGs too. I'm not Columbian but whenever I go in there, there are Columbian customers so you KNOW this place is legit!!

I didnt actually eat here, I ordered pastries to go. I must say do call first before going their hours are not correct, walking in you feel like you don't belong. Yet the staff is nice, the pastries were good and yummy. I might go back.

Just tried this place out for the first time today. Walking in I did not feel very welcome, but the food was excellent and I got a large amount for my money. I tried the chicken, rice, beans, French fries and some dessert options.

i got the arepas con queso y carne, and it was pretty good. my friend especially likes the colombian coffee here, and the empanadas as well. another friend had ordered the fish and beans, but it didn't look all that great. anyway, i liked what i got, and that's all that matters to me, ha.

I come here almost every day for the $4 Picada plate. You can't get better coffee anywhere else nearby. This place is my new favorite spot for breakfast or a quick bite.

Nice little place. Food was very good and staff very friendly. Don't know if they speak English as we speaking Portuguese. Menu is in Spanish as well. We actually ordered from the menu, beef, egg, rice and beans. Very good. My wife ordered the cheese bread but didn't like it but I think that is just because she was expecting Brasilian style cheese bread.

Love the bread and it is a friendly place to come with the kids and sit and talk. Good customer service
