Panama Joe's - Long Beach

First of all out out to Logan. He was the most chill kind professional warm and welcoming server I’ve had in a while. Secondly we were a bigger group and some of the dishes were people “best ever”. I highly recommend this place! I love the location and 2nd street is really fun. All street parking or paid street parking. There is a bar side and a seating restaurant style side. The restaurant side is a bit more quiet and more about the food.

Fish Tacos 🌮 Were Yummy Only thing is if you go for a birthday there is No Staff Involvement as far as singing Happy Birthday collectively or Any Music but Our Server she was awesome and so was the host. Very reasonable prices. And if you go after 7 pm the parking meters are free. There is parking in the back but with meters.

Went on a Wednesday night and it was still a vibe! They had a house DJ mixing pop, hip hop, Spanish music, and more. A really good mix made everyone get up and dance. Lots of seating for people and such an attentive staff picking up all trash and empty cups. I will say however the bar was a bit slow. (There were only two bartenders but it was a Wednesday). Special shout-out to Angel, he was so helpful helping a friend. I'd definitely go back on a weekend when they open up the other side of the bar for the dance floor.

Service was great. Happy hour drinks are reasonable priced. Nice place to relax and enjoy food

This restaurant has the best food ever! The bean dip they give with the chips and salsa is incredible. The carne asada tacos were so flavorful and not dry at all, they had this really good sauce on them. My sister got the birria and it was amazing as well. Definitely would recommend coming here!

The food is excellent, and the service is on point. The have a few tables outside and seating inside. Can't go wrong either way but if you can get a table outside you are winning. The atmosphere is incredible and the vibe of Belmont Shore is very inviting. I had a meeting with a friend and he loved the spot so much he said he had to come back with his wife. Curve out some time so you don't have to race. Just sit back and enjoy.

Just took to long to receive my food very unexpected but other then that not to bad they made up for with the extra drinks but wasnt to much alcohol in them

Came here yesterday evening for a drink with a friend. Who knew it was this crowded on a Sunday evening. With the live Dj and a lot of drunk people lol There was even a fight in the other room and luckily, I stayed in the empty room and heard the commotion. Their chips and salsa along with a side of beans as well received. Good service good stuff I would come back if I wanted something not quiet.

Came here because my friends love the fishbowl and it didnt disappoint. Staff is friendly and the place is super cool and nicely decorated. Fishbowl is 1 for every 3 people, which was perfect. Cant wait to try the food next time!

My husband and I had a exceptional date, all thanks to our incredible server Natalie! We've been to PJ'S multiple times in the past! But this particular time really stood out! This time we decided to just go with whatever our server recommended - and honestly 10/10. Natalie suggested the coconut pineapple marg & the Paloma for drinks. The coconut pineapple marg is litterally my all time favorite now! Highly recommend! And for food we just shared the ribeye fajitas! Not only were the recommendations spot on but her, herself was amazing! She was sweet, funny & attentive! Huge thanks to her for the wonderful experiance!

We were hoping to go to Open Sesame but the wait was too long. We didn't have a reservation. So we walked over to Panama Joe's. One section is a bar and the other side is a restaurant. TVs on every angle possible to watch the games! No wait either. The complimentary chips and salsa and cheese/bean dip were delicious! The salsa is around medium heat but was flavorful. They have bowls if you want to eat a bit of a smaller portion. I got the grilled asada bowl with chipotle chicken breast. My parents both got the el supreme bowl. My mom got the braised beef while my dad got chipotle chicken breast. My sisters got tacos de pollo asado and a taco and enchilada. While the food isn't authentic Mexican, it's still pretty good. Portions are reasonable for the price. Our server was super nice. Friendly, despite how busy she was running around to each table. They do a good job coming around to bring refills for chips and water. I would come back to check out the bar. You could hear the songs playing loudly but it wasn't all that disturbing. Seems like a fun vibe.

Shooter is the best bartender ever with a hot accent! I highly recommend happy hour or brunch for the deals. They also have cool theme nights and decorations!!

First time to Panama Joe's. We were enthusiastically greeted by a hostess named Rachel. She was so friendly and made us feel like they were genuinely happy to serve us. Ambiance is fun, lively, family friendly. We had all things nachos! Cocktails were amazingly great. Margs were huge! Overall a really fun place with delicious food and great friendly service! Definitely will be back!

First visit to Panama Joes! I was in search of a good taco Tuesday, and believe I've found my new favorite spot at Panama Joes! Arrived around 6pm on a Tuesday evening and was immediately greeted and seated by the host. Shortly after being seated, my friend and I received a basket of chips along with a small bowl of medium heat salsa and BEAN DIPPPP! The chips were warm, salsa was tasty, and the bean dip was SUPER good! Panama Joes has both a happy hour menu AND taco Tuesday specials. My friend and I both ordered ribeye street tacos- the meat was tender and well seasoned, the corn tortilla they are served on is fresh and soft - the tortilla is also a little thick, which I enjoyed but my friend didn't love. Definitely a matter of preference. The taco included melted cheese and a spicy green sauce (again, I loved it and my friend not so much)- if you are sensitive to heat, steer clear. My friend also tried crispy taco, which she loved- she dove in before we could grab a picture, but the shell was the star- crunchy, yet stayed perfectly in tact as she ate the taco. Both the Cadillac and regular margaritas are delicious- you can definitely taste the tequila, though not TOO strong. As this was a birthday happy hour for my friend, I shared this with our server who brought out a fried horchata ice cream with a candle. The fried ice cream was super yummy! Regarding ambiance, it's definitely a restaurant/bar...for most of our visit, the music playing was enjoyable and at a volume that allowed us to carry conversation. There's ample space available for patrons and two sides- one is the restaurant and the other is the bar. As we were getting ready to go a couple hours later, we could hear a DJ was spinning on the other side and it was definitely giving "meat market" as we were leaving. No marks down for this, just calling it like it was! Finally, special shoutout to our server Zoe, who provided us fantastic service. She checked on us often, and took great care of us. 5/5 Stars - will DEFINITELY return (for taco Tuesday)!

Was no wait time today around 3:30. Seated right away. Hostess pleasant and nice and brought us to our table. The waitress came promptly after being seated and brought us chips, salsa and waters. The chips were stale and salty, enough for me not to want more than a handful. The waitress was very sweet and attentive. Everything was great on the staff's end. They were all very nice and accommodating. The three stars is for the food. The shrimp fajitas which my husband got are actually very good. My entree not so much. I already had a bad feeling when I ordered what I ordered not to order it. I got the surf n turf enchiladas. The surf part of the enchiladas has way too much cheese on them and that's all I could taste. The cheese I tasted was Swiss cheese which should not be on any fish enchilada dish. The turf part of the enchilada tasted like it had spaghetti sauce on it. So neither would good. I didn't even finish 1/2 of my meal and didn't take it home. The margaritas were good, except too much salt on the rim, but strong. The place is big and there is plenty of seating. Cute pictures and decor on the wall. This place is mediocre at best.

Came in looking for some champagne and Shoota told us about the $5 mimosa they have on the weekends. Exceptional service all round!

I came to Panama joes on Monday for saint Patrick's day. It was busy and fun. Good music and playing all the nba games. Even though it usually doesn't get this full on a Monday evening. Everybody was out for saint Patrick's day.

We came to Panama Joe's to watch the Superbowl Game, the unexpected 5.00 dollar cover charge was not bad but for what reason? Like most places standing room only, the tables were pre-reserved, and the Bar area was crowded standing room only. We were planning on ordering some food with our drinks but did not. Nowhere to place our food, we were not going to stand holding our drinks and our food. After standing up for a couple of hours, and granting we got here an hour before kickoff, we decided to leave at half time. Cannot enjoy the game,drinks, and food standing all day. They should have had an occupancy limit the place was packed. They have an adjacent restaurant which was also full. Other nights I've been here have been a hit or miss on the music. at times its heavy metal music other times classic rock music a hit or miss.

Panama Joe's Grill & Cantina - where the seafood and vibes are on point! Appetizer: Calamari - crispy, tender, and gone in minutes. 5/5 Entrees: * King Crab Boil - buttery, juicy, and worth every bite. 5/5 * Crab & Shrimp - perfectly seasoned, and the shrimp were plump and delicious. I just wish they gave kids than 4 pieces of shrimp 3.5/5 Spicy Cucumber Margarita - a refreshing kick with a spicy twist, but could've used just a little more tequila love. 4/5 Overall Average: 4.4/5 - Panama Joe's is a solid spot for seafood and cocktails with a fun atmosphere! Servers, hostess, and bus people were extremely nice!

The food was really good. The service, well you basically order at the bar, chips and salsa is selfseve and that's all good. This place is a total vibe full of sports fans. Loud, Loud and pretty Loud! Love all of that. The drinks were good and well priced. Went there on a Saturday early evening. It gets pretty packed so I do recommend going early if you have on heels to grab a seat. I will definitely go again soon!

We came here today to have a drink after lunch. The bartender served the drinks in plastic cups, my cadillac margarita was terrible, and it seemed it was something off about the bartender. With all the restaurants and bars on 2nd St. you would think they would have good service and good drinks. Be better!

My second time here. The bartender, SHOOTER, recommended the potato taquitos and margaritas (on special)! Everything was amazing -- the midday time of day, the weather, the music, the ambience -- and the food and drink were a perfect beach day blend!

I went here with my family for brunch/lunch. Service was great and efficient. We ordered a breakfast bowl and quesadilla. Both were excellent, tasty, flavorful, and fresh. My son enjoyed both dishes and there was so little food left on the floor (he tends to drop lots of food). We were addicted to the chips, salsa, and queso dip. It came as part of our meal and could not help, but ask for seconds.

Always a great place to come after a long or for Sunday Brunch. We had the Rib Eye Enchiladas, Wings. Jalapeño Cucumber Margarita was also on point. The wait time is minimal. Great staff and great service as always.

Hot spot!!! Boy is this place popular! This is a happening spot-on the weekend. It is open late and offers quite a bit for your late-night adventures. Panama Joe's Grill and Cantina has food, drinks, music, dancing, and televisions. There's plenty to do if you want to just hang out with friends. Or if you are looking for dinner and drinks. Panama Joe's has it all as far as night life goes. It does get crowded in the evening. The atmosphere is loud. But if you are a social person/ extrovert, you will love this place! I came here just to hangout and socialize. It was a good time.

It's a bar but their drinks are already pre-mixed. Got a house margarita and within a 10 seconds I got my drink. Like WTH, have some pride in your work. It just tasted like margarita mix. I asked if they can make me a house margarita not pre-mixed, and then he charges me $5 more. This place stinks. They definitely have no pride or passion in their work. You guys should not own a restaurant.

Pjs is at the top of my 2nd St list! I've been coming here for 15+ years. I've never ever had a bad meal here (get the fish and rib eye tacos on Tuesday, and the chilaquiles w beef and relleno for breakfast *chef's kiss*). I used to eat here periodically, but found myself here more and more frequently because the food and service are great! Absolutely love Shooter! He's friendly and has always provided great, attentive service every single time. Fantastic food; great drink specials; phenomenal service; sports on all the TVs; open air; friendly patrons.

Panama joes is located on second street. It has a very touristy vibe. It has decent food and pretty ok service. If you want to go out and have a nice touristy experience and meet people I think this is the spot. I have been here maybe four or five times and I think that most of the time it has been good. It is close to all the shops on second and there are always people there that are either eating or having a beer or a glass of wine. Location is the main thing this place has going for it. Whenever somebody comes and visit I take them here when they want a drink for lunch. Wouldn't recommend as a place to take your family but cool to hang out with your friends.

I live in Long Beach and my friend convinced me to come to PJs for St Patty's Day and we had a total blast! We sat at the bar and got great service from Scooter and also Nick. The place was packs and they handled it without skipping a beat! We'll be back for brunch soon!

Was my second time dining @ Panamas.. had Rachel as my server, & I'll tell yall now if you get her as a waitress consider yourself lucky. She's hella prompt with refills during mimosa time, hella cool & she cute too.

The food was good. But I did ask the server to get sour creme and she made it aware that it costed extra.. so I complied .. she never brought sour crème. But the ambiance was incredible as always

My friend and I came here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Half of it is a restaurant with table service, and the other half is a bar where you go up and order. Both sides are pretty big with lots of tables, and the decor is really cool. There is complementary chips with salsa and bean dip, which was good. I had the shrimp and mango tacos, which were served with guacamole and queso fresco. My friend and I also split the ensalada fresca. All of the food was fantastic, and service was good. My friend said it gets pretty rowdy at night, but we managed to avoid all of that during the afternoon.

The managers have really upped their outlook, output and public relations with their patrons. This makes the food and libations not only enjoyable but you see more smiling faces and no scowls. My lady friend had came in from out of town and the line was exceedingly long . I waited patiently and watched their interactions with not only the passer-bys, but also the patrons in line as well and everyone was treated as an equal and the energy noticeably festive. That's a tell-tale sign that PJ is on their A game shout out to the front door crew, the mixologists, bar backs, hosts and last of all management this place is 100% on and it shows ! Thanks for the good finger foods, appetizers and bar foods as well as the entertainment and security to boot! If you are looking for a safe spot to have a drink and invite friend grab a good pit to eat and check all sport all year around with a nice warm seat spring, summer, winter or fall ! Come to Panama Joe's you will not be disappointed and the music suits everyone !

Stopped in here on the way to the dodgers game and decided to have a dodgers michelada. Super tasty and Shoota served it up perfectly!

First time here and I loved it. We had a large party and our waitress was on it. The food was made fresh and our servers were very attentive. I'll be back

This was a cool little spot to hang out and chill. We stopped in to get a few drinks as we were bar hoping. Our drinks were made well and the service was great. The inside does get packed and it gets hot! Be prepared ladies that they only have 3 stalls for the bathroom so the line does take a while. Other than that, i think we will visit again and grab some food the next time around.

Shout out to Security Angel!!! Everytime I go he always has greeting and pulling up in a sick Honda. Nicest guy there and always helpful and good recommendation for drinks.

This restaurant/bar is the perfect place. They start you off with some really good salsa, chips, and bean dip. We got a delicious Michelada and Piña Colada. For food we got the Birria quesadilla and the chipotle shrimp taquitos. 100% will be back. The host servers are all very nice. This is one of those places that you can't go wrong with whatever you order.

Awesome experience every time we go to PJs! Can't stop eating the Birria and we are a big fan of the new drink menu. Last time Shooter made us a blood orange mezcalita and it was sensational

My friend and I came and tried this place and it was amazing. The vibes are great. The staff were friendly. The drinks were absolutely amazing. Really good price for the taste. They had a chips and salsa bar that we were told to help ourselves too. Overall great place.

Came to watch the Sunday DJ over the weekend and he was awesome. Peter helped us with a table and we had a great time. New drink menu is also fire!
