Old Panama

This was an amazing site to visit and wander around looking at the history. Lots to see including a museum and gift shop on site as well. Such a wonderful piece of history to explore. Price is reasonable at $17 for non resident. You can walk it or take a ride throughout it. Rising did not appeal to me as I would rather walk and explore all this magical site has to offer. I think it is about 1km the site so easily walkable.

A must go in the city. The entrance is actually downhill, fromt here you can take a cart that is available every 15 minutes to reach this place. The ruins are well preserved and it makes you really appreciate the history of the city. I highly recommend to visit the museum first, once you see the historical details the old ruins will feel more powerful. You can climb the main tower, just a couple floors, to get a great view of the place.

Manage your expectations when it comes to customer service, other than that its an awesome place to visit, affordable. Enjoy the Library and Don't miss the museum! Bring some snacks and water but if you don't they have a little shop where you can purchase snacks. $11 nationals $17 tourists

Had a awesome day in Panama City, Panama the last two days. Yesterday was a quiet day in the city as it was the Day for the Dead, a very somber day, unlike Mexico's celebration. Today and tomorrow is celebration for Independence and they had 35 marching bands on a 5 kilometer parade route. The people here are so nice and so proud of their country, you can feel it is the air. Definitely a place that would be nice to spend a week here sometime. 🙂🙂🙂

An underrated museum in PC. It’s the entire grounds of Old Panama with ruins of the plaza, convents, hospitals and more. You’re able to get a free trolley from the entrance to the plaza; alternatively you can walk 5-7 minutes. Very interesting museum centre that highlights early Spanish colonisation, development of Panama Viejo and the English invasion. We visited on a Sunday morning during holiday season and were happy to see that it wasn’t overcrowded like the other museums we’d been to over the weekend. Would recommend spending at least a couple hours to see everything!

Very nice museum and lots to learn on early Panama history. Ruins are still standing showing a glimpse of the past.

Lovely historical place with lot of history worth visiting once in Panama They have made a special staircase going right upto the top the view is worth the climb, try to go on a sunny day to see things much better avoid rainy days to visit....

A UNESCO world heritage site on the must-see list! 400 year old ruins from the sacking of Panama City. The views are incredible, the museum is well done, and the preservation of history makes this worth the quick 15 minute drive
