Griddle Fresh Review - Noe Valley - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking for a heavy breakfast in Noe to start your day, Griddle Fresh is the place to do it. The French toast is dense and good, but if breakfast for you is more about recovering from last night than anything else, go for the Chicken In The Nest. It’s chicken katsu on a bed of fries with pepper jack cheese, topped with slaw, and doused in yellow curry. And it’s scientifically proven to cure whatever ails you." - Will Kamensky

10 stars! 50! All of the stars! The food is incredible. So so so good, and fresh and fast! We had the ricotta pancakes and the gluten free pancakes - geeeeez they were AMAZING!!!!! The folks in the kitchen and the two people waiting tables are working incredibly hard and treat everyone with the utmost respect and professionalism. While we were there, they had to deal with some rather special customers and they kept their absolute cool and treated them with kindness despite the entitlement they were being dealt. The bathroom is clean. The vibe of the place has aspects of a New York diner, if you I know what I mean :) so charming. We loved it! We’ll come again!!!

Their pancakes were fire! And hence the name! I had their banana mascarpone pancakes and honestly they were one of the best pancakes I’ve had in a while. They have a really nice selection of pancakes. Their eggs Benedict were very tasty as well. With a large selection of caffeinated drinks, it’s a great breakfast place! Their presentation is very nice too!

We checked this place out on a Sunday morning, and luckily, the line was short. Waited about 10 minutes before getting seated. We got the Ube pancake, chicken omelet sandwich, and fried chicken toasts—everything was fire! Plates were completely cleared. We were craving dim sum but so glad we ended up here instead!

Great. Lovely breakfast with delicious flavor. Got the Ube pancakes, huevos rancheros, king salmon tartine. Great! Ube pancakes too sweet for my liking but good texture.

Google
The most delicious breakfast spot in Noe Valley! Could not decide and will definitely be going back to try more of this menu! My daughter got the French toast made with brioche and the fried chicken with maple syrup and bacon bits so delicious! I got the crab roll And her father got eggs amy style with bacon and home potatoes. Everything was so delicious! Next time I will definitely be trying the banana soufflé pancakes!

I was told that this restaurant was excellent… and it is true. The lemon soufflé pancakes were my favorite. Service is very friendly. Not cheap but at least you leave happy!

As a local, I’ve heard great things about The Pancake Boy, and I finally made a trip there this morning. The area is near the Castro and exudes a cozy, classic SF residential vibe, free from visitor hassles, which I really like. The crew was friendly and attentive. We ordered by choosing dishes that other customers were having when we arrived. Everything looked so delicious, so we just pointed to various tables, and the results were fantastic. The ube pancake was well-balanced with sweet and fruity notes, while another dish featured a flavorful, spicy, and creamy combination of egg and other ingredients. Classic and chic altogether. We will visit here again very soon.

Google
The Pancake Boy restaurant serves some of the fluffiest, most delicious pancakes I’ve ever had. We ordered the lemon ricotta soufflé pancake and the chilaquiles verdes, and both were fantastic. The pancake was light and airy, with just a touch of ricotta filling for subtle richness. The portion was generous, perfect for sharing or a hearty meal. The chilaquiles verdes were equally satisfying—crispy tortilla chips in a flavorful green sauce, topped with cheese and a perfectly cooked egg. With the rain outside, we chose indoor seating, which was cozy and comfortable. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory, The Pancake Boy is a must-try!

Yelp
If you're looking for a great brunch spot in San Francisco, Pancake Boy is definitely worth checking out. We tried a few dishes during our visit: the Smoked Salmon Benedict, Crab Cake Benedict, and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and everything was absolutely delicious. The Smoked Salmon Benedict had the perfect balance of flavors. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection, and the smoked salmon added a nice savory depth. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and rich, bringing everything together beautifully. The Crab Cake Benedict was just as impressive--light, tender crab cakes paired with the same perfectly poached eggs and sauce, creating a satisfying and indulgent dish. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were a real highlight. They were light, fluffy, and had the perfect amount of citrus tang. The ricotta made them extra creamy, and they were just sweet enough without being overwhelming. The Ube Latte was creamy with a lovely ube flavor that wasn't too overpowering. It was a great balance of sweet and earthy, perfect for anyone who loves the flavor of ube. The Almond Lavender Latte was also unique, with a soothing almond and lavender combo. The flavor was reminiscent of horchata, which I enjoyed, but I wasn't a fan of the slices of almonds floating in the drink. While the taste was great, the texture of the almonds in the latte was a bit off-putting for me. Despite that, the overall coffee experience was still enjoyable, and both lattes offered something different from the usual café offerings. If you enjoy unique flavors and don't mind some extra texture in your drink, these lattes are worth trying. Overall, Pancake Boy delivers a solid brunch with great service, and the drinks just add another layer to a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Cozy diner style brunch spot in Cole Valley. We ordered: Shrimp and sausage grits 4/5 - flavorful Lemon ricotta pancakes 3/5 - ricotta is a separate layer from the pancake where some places fold it in the dough itself. Pancake tasted a bit undercooked Coffee - free flowing refills Staff attentive and nice. Note place closes at 2pm.

Yelp
Cozy breakfast spot in the noe valley area. This place is very popular so be sure to be ready to wait if you get here past 10am. I ordered the breakfast chilaquiles which came with a side of carnitas and topped with eggs and green salsa. The green salsa was tangy and had good flavor but needed more spice. Also came with a side of home style potatoes which were crispy and freshly made. We also ordered the corn beef hash which had real chunks of beef and fresh potatoes. Topped with sunny side up eggs and a side of the home style potatoes and bread of your choosing. Portions are generous and the food is delicious. Service was a bit slow. It took awhile to get our breakfast items in and sometime we didn't get coffee refills. It gets busy so I can see why it took awhile. I def want to come back and try more items

Yelp
A good friend recommended this spot for breakfast and I know it's called Pancake Boy but I wasn't in the mood for pancakes. What I did see many people around me order was the marscapone pancake with candied walnuts. That dish had layers of marscapone between the 3 stacks of pancakes, topped with candied walnuts and banana. I ordered the corned beef hash which was delicious with chunks of corned beef stir fried with bell peppers and onions. The other dish tried was the Seaboard eggs Benedict which was over a slice of multi grain bread. Coffee is $4 a cup with refills. Parking in the area can be hard but with some patience and willingness to take a short stroll, it's not too difficult. The restaurant has outdoor seating and also a parklet, very dog friendly. Service is attentive and friendly. On my next visit I'm looking forward to trying their fried chicken over French toast and if you need your protein and eggs like me, they are available as a side order.

Yelp
I visited Pancake Boy this morning and really enjoyed my experience. The servings were SIZABLE and prices pretty reasonable especially for SF standards. The menu is also quite creative but you can find your staples here as well. The inside was cute and clean and the outside seating had heaters and seemed nice. Service was friendly and speedy. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
As others have said, it's a solid brunch spot in Noe Valley. You can't reserve a table, so you have to get there pretty early to stand in line. Not sure if it's Asian-owned or just staffed, but the menu is pretty eclectic. The ambiance was interesting as it felt like a standard diner inside. I suggest eating outdoors if the weather is nice. We ordered the ube lattes (can't make these bad) and an order of ube pancakes (delicious and sinful). For breakfast, we ordered an SF omelet (huge and filling) and an avocado toast (delicious with pickled onions). We went home feeling satisfied! But if you don't like waiting in line, there are other spots that have similar offerings where you can reserve tables.

Yelp
This place has delicious pancakes and breakfast/brunch over all! I really enjoyed my banana pancakes when I was here. Soo good! The service was ok could be better. A couple behind us was served before us which is sort of rude. Still definitely going back and hope this place stays open. Oh and be prepared to spend some $$. This place is pricey!

Yelp
Got seated outside right away on a Saturday morning. I was happy there's a cover/roof over the parklet as it was raining a bit during our meal. We ordered the shrimp and sausage and grits and a Benedict to share. Portions were large and service was pretty good. Food was fairly tasty but nothing overwhelmingly amazing. We were happy to check it out for brunch while in the area.

Yelp
Came here for brunch with my boyfriend and we both had high hopes after seeing the reviews and the line out the door every weekend. I ordered the Wake Up Sunshine which was soju and orange juice, which was very refreshing on a hot Sunday morning. My boyfriend ordered an iced chai latte with oat milk, but it ended up coming to us hot with whole milk. It took us a really long time to flag down a server to correct this because it's not what we ordered. They gave it back to us, but it was the same drink just poured over a glass of ice, so now it tasted extremely watered down and the milk situation was still not corrected. This was not a pleasant start of the experience, but we just decided to let it pass since it took so much effort to grab someone's attention. For the food we ordered the lemon ricotta soufflé pancake and chilaquiles verdes to share. The chilaquiles were flavorful, and the potatoes were really crispy which was good. The pancakes were another let down since the middle was undercooked. I've had a ton of soufflé pancakes and they've never been basically raw in the center like this one was. The flavor was there but the texture wasn't in the middle, so we just ate the parts that were more cooked. Overall I don't think I will be returning given the service and quality of the food for the price point.

Yelp
My friend and I went here one weekend. We luckily grabbed a seat outdoors, which was really lovely. We shared the PB's plate (3 buttermilk pancakes, 2 poached eggs, and bacon) and a side of breakfast potatoes. It was good! Nicely presented too. My only gripe is that the PB's plate is $25, which imo is wildly expensive. Possibly similar pricing to the other popular brunch places in sf.. but still that's kinda wild when the eggs and bacon (2 of the 3 items) weren't that different from any other brunch spot. So I'm taking one star off for that bc it's GOOD, but I think it would have to wow me to be that much ya know?

Yelp
Small neighborhood breakfast/brunch joint with the most puffy pancakes that I ever had in my life. They really nailed the quality and variety of pancakes!

Yelp
Only good things to say about this Pancake Boy! The menu is robust, food quality is excellent, and service is fantastic. Extra bonus points for having outdoor seating as well. French Toast: A must try! It is sweet, a little savory, and with a crunch from the macadamia nuts. Huevos Rancheros: Very solid and made with fresh ingredients. What makes PB's unique is that they have tostadas on top and bottom, which added texture and dimension to the dish. Chilaquiles Verde: The verde sauce was the highlight of the dish, as it should be. The chips were fresh and there's egg at the bottom of the dish. My only criticism is that the pork was a little dry so I suggest asking for extra sauce on the side for it. Yummy Certified!

Yelp
Visit Date: Brunch on 5/5/24 HUGE portions and a classic brunch spot in Noe. Prices are a little high but I guess standard for SF brunch.

Yelp
Pancake Boy had so many yummy-looking items on their menu that it was hard to narrow down exactly what I wanted. We settled on getting the ube pancake, the chilaquiles, and a spicy chipotle chicken sandwich. The service was great here, everything came out pretty quickly and they made sure we had everything we needed during our meal. The chilaquiles were our favorite part - the chipotle pork was tender and marinated well and came with a side of scrambled eggs with tortilla chips mixed in, topped with cotija cheese and salsa verde. You can also choose to get a side of salad or fries. The plate was huge and very filling. This is not complaint against the restaurant itself, but this was my first time having chilaquiles and while I liked the flavors, I didn't like how the tortilla chips get soggy after a couple of minutes - next time, I would ask for it on the side. The ube pancake was beautifully plated with fresh fruit on top, along with a scoop of ube butter, and then ube dipping sauce on the side. It wasn't overly sweet which we liked. While very good, it was unfortunate that the pancake was a little burnt on the bottom which made it a little more dry. The chicken sandwich was interesting - while it was good, it was very saucy and messy. The sandwich is advertised as being "spicy" on the menu but it had no hint of spice that we could taste - if anything, it tasted more like sweet teriyaki sauce. Overall though, we had a good experience here at Pancake Boy.

Yelp
Solid brunch spot, I enjoyed their savory items such as the huevos rancheros and their eggs Benedict The sweet items didn't stand out to me (tried the red velvet pancakes and French toast). The wait was not too bad, it tends to slow down after 12:30-1pm. FYI, they only seat full parties!

Yelp
Got Tex mex scramble and shared some buttermilk pancakes. Very solid all around. Generous portions and plated very nicely. Very close quarters and can get busy on weekend. Your standard diner/breakfast spot in terms of ambiance. Will for sure be coming back.

Yelp
We've eaten here several times. Overall, the food is three stars, service is two stars. As a public health nurse, I can't help but spot germy practices. I noticed the two waiters were bussing tables with disposable gloves on, and also bringing out freshly-made entrees from the kitchen with the same gloves on. This is unsanitary, at best. I brought this to our waiter's attentions, and she acknowledged my concerns. Nothing changed though, and they both continued bussing and serving with the same dirty gloves on. Before we left, I noted that she kept serving with dirty gloves on. She informed me that they have limited staff, and they have no choice. Will not return.

Yelp
eggs benedict was just normal (the muffin was also thicker and crispier than normal ones) but the pancakes were good--very soft and light, and the ube cream did not drown the pancakes which was nice. pistachio latte not bad too could be stronger

Yelp
Very solid brunch spot! Came by on a sunny Saturday so we sat out in the atrium and had an amazing time. As a local this is such the perf location as we ate and then walked around 24th St. We ordered the Cali Scott Salmon Benedict, Lemon Ricotta Pancake, and the Rustic Flat Omelet - all the plates are big in portion. Our fav was def the pancakes, they were so fluffy and it was a such a nice balance of the lemon citrus and the cheesiness of the ricotta. The other plates were really good too, super fresh and not too salty. Would def stop by again for a cute brunch with my boyf or the girlies as the location is super walkable too.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch! Pancake Boy is located on a cute street in Noe Valley with other cafes and restaurants. I arrived with a party of 3 at 10 AM with a wait time around 10 minutes (I recommend coming early, or else a longer line starts to form). The restaurant was a bit small but we got seated quickly. My friends and I each got our own savory dish and shared a sweet dish. Service was pretty quick and the portion sizes were very large. The prices were ~$20 per dish, which is pricey but pretty standard in SF. I got the SF omelette which came with chicken apple sausage, tomato, avocado, cheddar and I got to choose a choice of salad or house fries. The omelette was very filling and flavorful. I enjoyed the dressing which came with the salad side. I also tried the french toast. To my surprise, it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet but it did lack some flavor. I liked the soft texture of the bread. Overall, I'd stop by if I were close by, but this would not be my go-to spot for brunch in SF.

Yelp
Not the best but not bad ! Went there on weekdays no line only best part was the pancake it's light and flavorful!! Even when you take it to go it's still tastes as good as eating at the restaurant. Overall 4.5/5 For the sweet But 2.5/5 for the savory Not worth the price and taste bland I don't whether the crab cake supposed to come out hot or no but it's not hot since it's crab cake so I would assume it's should come out hot (?) But the home fries is great . All my friend agree on the bland taste they got on there dish Service is not too pushy . Ambiance is nice since it's located in noe valley and the restaurant decorating is quite nice

Yelp
Finally got to try Pancake Boy after reading all the reviews about it for being a great place for brunch in Noe Valley! I've always seen the lines being long to get seated but we surprisingly got seated within 15 minutes. They have a lot of options for pancakes and have good options for sweet and savory options. I got the Garden Scramble and my friends and I shared the French toast. The Garden Scramble was just about okay, it could use more flavor but the side salad was really good with the dressing. The French toast was pretty good and not too sweet but still moist. I also got the matcha latte which was nice and refreshing and had the perfect sweetness. I do wish there were a few vegetarian sandwich options to choose more savory items but overall a decent selection. This is a good place to try if in the area.

Yelp
Perfect brunch. Great selection of Benedict's. I enjoyed the fresh lump crab benny. Large portions. Quickly seated and great service. Can't wait to go back. Everyone in the party loved what they ordered.

Yelp
We stood in line outside the shop to wait for a table and the hostess gave us a menu to look at while we waited when we were next and gave us an update that our table is being cleared. Very efficient. Very similar menu to Mymy. We ordered: fried chicken french toast $25 (1 out of 5)// Painfully bland, hardly salted at all. The flavorless fried skin on the chicken was very crunchy. The meat connected to the skin was dry and not much of the meat was actually tender. The "french toast" was 3 pieces of oiled/buttered up challah bread that was soft but isn't like any eggy french toast I've had anywhere else. When I asked the waitress for bbq sauce or anything to *save* the fried chicken, she simply stated "that's what the maple syrup is for". Then she helpfully suggested adding ketchup. Yeah, honestly it helped but that's besides the point. I felt very embarassed to have paid $25 for this dish that the waitress later took half of the plate uneaten back to the kitchen. salmon tartine w/country potatoes $24 (3.5 out of 5) // Good portions and overall yummy but the ranch heavy drizzle was too much after several bites. Country potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside but greatly lacking in seasoning and flavor, even with ketchup. banana mascarpone ricotta pancakes $19 (5 out of 5) // This was fantastic. Very fluffy center and just a bite of warmth and comfort. The mascarpone dollop and sauze drizzle were great. Highly recommend. Mid-high pricey on the $$ scale for brunch. Could be a great time if you order wisely and dodge the bland misses.

Yelp
Good place to start your morning weekend (come before the line starts building) the food will perk you up to walk and explore Noe Valley . The service is quick and efficient.

Yelp
They had unique lattes, it was hard to choose but I never tried red velvet before. They also had ube, matcha, almond lavender, and pistachio. I was also torn between crab cake Benedict's, shrimp and grits, but was craving smoked salmon so I got the tartine, it was really good! I wish the potatoes were thinner and crispier or was stronger in flavor at that size. The ube pancakes were also pretty good in texture and flavor. Cute little brunch spot. Server kept coming back every minute or two so I felt kinda rushed but I was indecisive on what to order.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is decadent and the portion sizes are huge at Pancake boy. As the name suggests, the pancakes are phenomenal here. I thought the Florentine could have been seasoned a little more as well as the potatoes. The staff is friendly but rushed and overworked due to the crowds at brunch time. The restaurant is small but there is outdoor seating which can be very enjoyable on a sunny day.

Yelp
I recently had the displeasure of visiting this place and it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The menu looked promising, but the actual food was a huge disappointment. My "Corned beef and hash "was bland and lacked any seasoning and mostly just potatoes. My father's" grits with shrimp " was such a tasteless plate too - absolutely unacceptable. for the price we paid, we expected much better quality and service. Overall, "Pancake boy" was a complete letdown, and I won't be returning. Save your time and money and brunch somewhere else.
google avatar

Gerard Y.

Yelp
Some out-of-town relatives were visiting and we decided to check this place out for brunch. They take no reservations so you'll have to wait in line. Once inside. I decided to get a Banana Mascarpone Pancake and Pb's Crab Cake Benedict. I know that's a lot of food, but I came here hungry, don't judge haha. I've never had souffle type pancakes but they were very fluffy and yummy. Crab cakes were pretty good, I dare say almost like getting them from the east coast.

Yelp
You always hear about Plow or Kitchen Story, but why not Pancake Boy? I randomly came across it on Yelp and got to try it with some friends for a quick Sunday brunch (the wait was so short! Plow could never). I got the salmon Benedict (my go to brunch item since I most certainly cannot even attempt to make it at home) and it was fluffy creamy, and the home fries were the crispiest I've had yet. We also shared the lemon ricotta pancakes which were, to my surprise, stuffed with pillowy egg white (it seems that instead of the jiggly Japanese soufflé pancakes, they were literally egg soufflé pancakes - still tasty but just totally unexpected!). Pancake Boy in all its cute brunch glory fits perfectly in the Noe Valley farmers market, babies in strollers, puppies everywhere vibe, definitely recommend for a lovely weekend outing.

Yelp
This place was sooo good! My cousin recommended it and it didn't disappoint. The service was fast and friendly (especially for a Saturday morning!) and the food- YUM! We got the banana soufflé pancakes and SF omelette!

Yelp
The food was fantastic. I love it. The service was fantastic, and the ambiance was very nice it was very quiet and very clean in here. But it was very cold because they had the window open. i get it because nobody had a mask on just me. I will definitely come back because i saw someone ordered the avocado omelet and roasted potatoes, and they give you a lot of food, but it's expensive, but it's worth it. If you want to come here for breakfast, get the pancakes they were so good if you love avocados. Get the omelet avocado. Nomnomnom! So i was very happy coming here, and it was worth the wait because this was a new restaurant, and i would see a long line of people waiting to eat here.. Thanks for reading my review ~Lizzie~

Yelp
I came back with my dad, and this time, we brought along my mom, my brother, and his partner. The waiting-in-line-on-the-sidewalk thing is still a thing, but we sped through the line, and we were seated almost immediately after my brother arrived. The food is phenomenal. There's all this no-substitution finickiness on the menu, but everyone enjoyed what they ordered, and there are some interesting vegetables and fruits that they use in place of more traditional ones. I can't remember any right now, but some of the flavor combos were wild in a good way. They're still super efficient. Not quite as nice as before, but no one was rude. The portion sizes are still big, but the prices seem way higher than before. I wasn't paying, so I didn't care, but it was something I noticed, and sometimes I try my hardest to ignore San Francisco pricing, because it's just depressing. Come hungry, and you'll leave happy.

Yelp
A great breakfast / lunch option in an area with lots of great choices! Pulled pork with soft tortilla, big fluffy pancakes, fruit bowl and corned beef hash were tried and liked by all. About all else was the very very good service. They are busy busy and our server and her partner never lost their smiles, helpful approach and timely service. We do travel that way every 6 months or so and we will make a point of coming back!

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this brunch spot for a while now! My party of 4 arrived around 11 AM on a Saturday, and the wait was around 20-30 minutes. The restaurant is quite small, but had a home-y vibe. We were given menus and took our orders while we were waiting in line. Chipotle Pulled Pork Scramble ($20) - 4/5 The flavors in this dish were on point. The pulled pork, egg scramble, and salsa verde combination was delicious, especially when eaten combination with the two slices of sourdough bread. The potatoes on the side were crispy and well seasoned as well. Highly recommend if you're craving something more savory for brunch ! I would love to visit this joint again and try one of their other menu items!

really liked this restaurant. the ube pancake was great --not overwhelmingly sweet. they require all party to be present to get in the waitlist

Yelp
What was Griddle Fresh is now Pancake Boy. I think this was a smart marketing move because the previous name was just a bit too generic to be memorable. But hey, Pancake Boy sounds like an anime character with a secret power to flip flapjacks with a single flick of the wrist. He also wears a cape and carries a magic spatula. Too specific? Sorry I was lost in my own meta universe. I came back and reminded myself what a robust breakfast menu they have here. In fact, pancakes were only five of the many menu items offered with the Banana Marscarpone Soufflé Pancake sounding the most decadently delicious. I, however, was in a more health-conscious mood and decided to order the $20 Garden Scramble, which was quite a plateful of food. It was a three-egger, for sure, with an interesting array of fresh ingredients - oyster mushrooms, cauliflower, zucchini, manchego cheese, sunflower seeds, and deep-fried shishito peppers. Shockingly foregoing the crispy home fries for the salad, I thought it was tasty and almost healthy even though I went to town with the grape jelly on my multigrain toast (photo: https://bit.ly/3QrGknI). "Save me, Pancake Boy!" FOOD - 4 stars...unique flavors in their garden and quite filling AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...same compact space as Griddle Fresh SERVICE - 4 stars...pretty attentive and quick TOTAL - 4 stars...here comes Pancake Boy to save the day! Yelp
Really wanted to like this cute breakfast spot in Noe Valley, but the food was just BAD. It's definitely a busy spot, so maybe we should have stuck with the pancakes? The Ube Latte + side orders of Bacon and andouille were okay, but the entrees were terrible. Fried Chicken French Toast- visually looked appealing, but had zero seasoning on the chicken. There was a very thick crispy batter on the outside, but very bland. The two pieces of chicken didn't include a breast. The French toast also lacked flavor. Florentine Benedict- wasn't sure there was even bread in the Benedict because it had already turned to mush. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back to Pancake Boy. I think there are better brunch spots in SF.

Yelp
It was jussstttttt okay lol. We came on a rainy Thursday afternoon and it was packed inside. The restaurant itself is casual and small so we opted for a table outside since we didn't want to wait. Service: Eh. Not much interaction since we were outside. Had to flag down waitresses to order and get our check. No check-ins mid meal either lol. Water also wasn't given until we got our lattes lol. Food: Eh. Pricey for ok food. Banana Mascarpone Soufflé Pancake - Wasn't too sweet like I expected, thank god. Pancakes were really fluffy and tasted good. But!!!! Only 2 small pieces of banana on top lol. And 1 awkward slice of orange. Lobster scramble - The amount of cream and cheese in my scramble... ridiculous. It didn't even smell or taste like eggs. Lobster was seasoned and red but couldn't really identify what it was supposed to taste like lol. Potatoes' texture was good but a bit bland. Almond lavender latte - Tasted like chai more than anything and it was literally half foam and half the drink. Red velvet latte - Pretty delicious! Creamy and thick. **Their water jar was ridiculously dirty. I wish I took a picture but the inside of the jar was GREEN meaning there was algae due to not being cleaned properly. Gross**

Yelp
Why are SF restaurants colder inside than it is outside? That's the first thing I noticed when coming here. Came right at opening (9 am) on a Saturday, so was seated right away. It filled up quickly as it's a small space. Parking wasn't too hard to find. Cost $2 for about 50 min, which was plenty of time (without having to wait for a table). Got the red velvet pancakes and tried the banana mascarpone soufflé pancakes and shrimp & sausage grits. I don't care for grits, so would definitely pass on that in the future. Looked good, just wasn't for us. The banana mascarpone pancakes were good, but a little disappointing. Good banana flavor, but the mascarpone filling was meh and they're definitely not true fluffy soufflé pancakes. The red velvet pancakes were good and didn't need syrup. They're big and I only ate half. If you like red velvet I would recommend them. Would I come back just for them though? Probably not.. Service was fine. Food could've come out a bit faster. Just ok overall (food and experience) - good/not bad, but nothing special.

Yelp
I have no idea why this place keeps changing its name (from Griddle Fresh to Aha Fresh to Pancake Boy). In any event it's still the same great food. Just adding some pictures albeit from a long time ago

Yelp
We were in the area to get our new foster her first round of puppy shots and we choose this place based on Yelp reviews and the ability to have pet seating outside on a beautiful Saturday morning. We were deciding between the Ube, Red Velvet, and Pistachio latte--then decided to match their Pistachio against Starbucks. It was really yummy! After scrolling through Yelp photos, I let the boyfriend know it was between the Banana Marscapone Soufflé Pancakes and the Lemon Ricotta Strawberry Soufflé Pancakes. He found a combo that gave us a choice of either with some savory items as well so we each got that + a side of their specialty wedge potatoes as the combo didn't come with it. This meal was perfectly portioned for us both. I would say that the soufflé ricotta pancakes definitely fill us up more than usual probably due to the ricotta in between the layers of cakes. The wait was around 20min or so even if we called ahead and they said they had an outdoor table for us. It was worth the wait. Lots of dogs passing by on these SF streets and it was great doggie socializing Will be back to try the smoked salmon tartine as that looked delicious and also popular on the menu!!

Yelp
Super small place but it's always popping & for a good reason! We only waited 10 mins in line before getting sat. The servers are quick and swift while moving around this crowded little restaurant. There is indoor & outdoor seating(outdoor seating is dog friendly). Do be prepared to sit close to others while inside. The Banana mascarpone pancakes were very good, a little sweet, but the marscspone helped to balance it. Because they're soufflé pancakes be prepared for a more eggy texture. The French toast was bomb. I love that they use Challah bread and top it with bacon. I wish the bacon was a little crispier. The potatoes!!!! Perfect amount of crispy crunchy & soft tenderness. Literally the perfect bite.

Yelp
This place gets really busy, expect a wait in line on weekends. They do their best to keep the flow of things seating people as quick as they can. It was a beautiful sunny day we sat outside and even though we were seated on street we enjoyed the experience. I tried the Tex Mex scramble. These are big portions, the fries were delicious and the egg scramble had plenty of delicious chorizo. My wife had the green chilaquiles. This was another large portion plate. The pork was served on the side and it was really good. Overall it was a good experience.

Yelp
The pictures of delicious looking stacks of pancakes that I saw online made me want to try this place. They didn't disappoint. I had lemon ricotta souffle pancakes, and the people I was dining with had red velvet pancakes and corned beef hash. All of those were very good. The pulled pork side was oddly spicy, which we weren't expecting. The lemonade with soju was quite good. Service was good, though not super fast, as they were very busy. The ambiance was overall good. I'd gladly dine here again.

Yelp
Portions are great. I ordered an omelette with toast and fruit and I could only get through half. But the entire meal really tasted like nothing. It's very unseasoned. The service is okay. The place is small so they are trying to move tables quickly, which I understand, but they rush you. My fiancé got the French toast which was delicious! If I do go back, I'll still to the French toast or pancakes.
