Panda Express

Highlights: incredible price for what you get even when food guaranteed fresh and made small batch daily. It’s important to keep in mind what Panda Express is competing with. It’s not competing with authentic Chinese sit down gourmet restaurants, it’s competing with takeout food places like Chipotle and typical American Chinese takeout places (think greasy lo mien in those white foldable boxes). A LOT of low reviews are assuming one it’s what it isn’t. It even says on the wall “American Chinese,” which is known as that classic stereotypical takeout food. So yeah, if the food doesnt taste like Chinese food that mom makes I WONDER WHYYY… the inside is very eat in appropriate compared to a normal takeout joint that has the most sus seating. Anyways good is good at a pretty good price. Portions are well sized for the price. Yes pricing has prob gone up, but the same can be said for any business that existed during these high inflationary times. By looking at nutritional content, being able to get +600 calories and +30 g of protein for $9 is a STEAL in 2025. A whopper meal at BK is $8 for less protein than that and way more fat lol. However, it IS more expensive than a regular local American Chinese takeout joint. You could get double the portion for about $16, BUT the quality is different. This is probably the healthiest American Chinese takeout I’ve ever had. It’s not doused in grease and oil and the food tastes fresh, and this explains why it’s marginally more expensive than regular AC takeout. The flavor is weaker but it’s undoubtedly less greasy, salty, and sugared up (three things that add a lot of flavor usually). The website does state that food is made fresh similar to Chipotle. Now while those greasy classic AC places are close to my heart, you know dang well that food could be of any quality lol… Panda Express operates well with very affordable prices for fresh American Chinese food. The Asian lady working the counter today (Saturday 8/3/25) was very pleasant and super positive vibes. Needs a raise.

I’ve been eating here for almost a year, but recently they made the containers smaller and started serving noticeably a smaller portion. The portions of rice, chow mein, and other items are way smaller than before. If the owner wants to make more profit, they should just raise the prices—don’t cheat customers by quietly shrinking everything. What’s worse, the nearby stores from the same franchise still have the same container size and portions they’ve had since the beginning. I won’t be coming back.

Smaller portion than other Panda… look at the photo. The $1.5 premium entree comes only 4 pieces of steak. Very disappointing. However, the fried rice is excellent. More moist and flavorful than other stores for some reason.

I’ve been to panda’s all across the US and I’ve never felt less appreciated. Door dash orders taking priority over the customer standing in front of them is crazy. The portions are way smaller compared to other pandas that I’ve been too and they have only soda options for fountain drinks. Barely speak English and feels like a sweat shop so kinda makes sense. Wouldn’t recommend at all if you like panda.

Purchased family meal with two hot orange chicken one regular orange chicken only had two chicken in my bag when I ate all three egg roles were old and dried out over charged for my juice. They did correct the juice charge The server made us wait in front of her for five minutes before she addressed us and didn’t even speak first. Then we waited another fifteen minutes for hot chicken. The girls who bagged my order and charged me were rude with nasty looks on their faces the one who charged me too much for the juice kept going up on the price and I think it was because she didn’t want me to have it never going back

My daughter placed an order at 11:30 pm We came to pick it up and the store had already completely cleared out the food stuff early and claimed that somebody took the order, The orders are kept behind the counter, and the store is empty with at least five employees at the counter. It was a lie. Then they proceeded to tell us, they also could not provide a refund…ridiculous… Don’t make the hours 12 midnight, if they’re gonna be clearing things out at 11:30 and not want to fulfill orders… horrible service and location! Will be waiting in a prompt resolution for my daughter’s money !

Great food and great portions for the price. Love the spicy beef, orange chicken, fried rice, steamed veggies, beef broccoli etc. Everything is delicious. Service is quick, food is always fresh and not overcooked. Highly recommend this location and the manager Xenia is very sweet!!

I’ve always had a bad experience with Sandra at this location. With every visit she comes across as dismissive and rude. She greets and chats warmly with Spanish-speaking customers, but when it’s my turn she does not smile, does not say hello, and makes no effort to ask if I want sauces or anything else. On my last visit she looked visibly annoyed when I asked to use my gift card, and when I went back to ask for soy sauce she ignored me completely until another employee kindly stepped in. After waiting more than 15 minutes in line, this lack of basic courtesy left a very poor impression

This review is for takeout experience. Seamless pick up, parking available all around the street or there is parking area on the back. Lunch line seemed to be long but I'm glad I ordered online for pick up. Ordered Big Plate with choice of 3 entree and a side. We did the new hot orange chicken (good spicy w dried chili), broccoli beef, black pepper sirloin steak w 1/2 side white rice & lo mein. For easy quick Chinese , panda delivers. :)

Every so often I get the craving for Americanized Chinese food and that only allows me one place to get it from. I was on my way back to the DMV when I had that urge. I'm not completely familiar with every town and neighborhood in the area so I had to do a search for this. I punched in looking for the closest one and it brought me here. It sits in a very nice area and I was surprised. I thought I was getting a drive thru location, but this is in like a town square so I had to park and come in. When I did enter the store, I wasn't even completely through the door and I was being greeted. The staff behind the counter asked me how I was doing, and not to just ask me how I was doing, she asked as if she really cared and held a conversation with me. I went through the line and got a plate; fried rice, orange chicken, and honey sesame chicken. Getting it to go with a drink was easy as can be. My vehicle smelt so good on the way home that I couldn't not wait to eat this. Food was spot on and it held up on the remainder of my drive home.

Used my birthday rewards to grab food here. This location seems cleaner and better run than the Montgomery Mall one, but its a franchise so they should be similar. I know this is Americanized Chinese food but it's pretty meh. Portion sizes were decent and prices haven't gone through the roof yet, but there's really a lack of flavor in the mushroom chicken, tofu eggplant, and beef broccoli. The spicy orange chicken was OK, but let's be real, anything fried with a sweet sauce on it is usually good. If it wasn't for the app rewards, I wouldn't come here; too many really good Asian places to eat in MoCo.

11/2/21 Food/Menu: The food at this location is on par with other locations. After many visits at various locations, I just discovered today that you could order half and half of the side choices which include: Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Mixed Veggies, White Steamed Rice, and Brown Steamed Rice. I ordered a bowl with half Chow Mein and half Fried Rice and Honey Walnut Shrimp. There is an additional premium charge of $1.25 for the shrimp and Black Pepper Angus Steak. I enjoyed my bowl, however, the walnuts seemed hard which led me to believe it may have been overcooked. New on the menu is the Family Feast which includes 3 large entrees and 2 large sides which serves 4-5 people and pricing starts at $29. Service: I was warmly greeted with a welcome upon entering. The associate greeted every patron with enthusiasm which I could hear in her voice. Parking: There is street parking and also an underground parking garage around the corner which is open from 6am to 12am everyday until the work on the top deck is done. I was confused how to get out to the elevator as there was signage on the door that said Rodgers Consulting. Apparently you go through those doors to get on the elevator. Level 1 is for all retailers and the consulting firm is on level 2. Just thought I would point that out in case anyone gets confused. Lol I enjoyed my lunch overall and the quick and friendly service. I would definitely come back.

The food has gone downhill, smaller portions too. But Joyce is the star employee. So nice and friendly!

My friend and I wanted take out and I wasn't feeling subs I decided on Panda Express. We all know its not real Chinese Food. My favorite entree is the Honey walnut shrimp. For some unknown reason its $1.25 surcharge for this. Okay, Ill pay it.. maybe it goes towards Panda research or something, but, mannnn!! They stingy!!!! 7 whole shrimp!! Its expensive!! With tiny walnut pieces!! The shrimp is tasty. Basically the only decent part of my meal!I got greens which was utterly dreadful!! The rice is always dry and mushy. The rice noodles is a mess. So I noticed as I was waiting for my order that all the food came in ziploc pouches. My greens was a mess was mostly broccoli stalks and core pieces from the cabbage. Employees are decent. Not friendly or rude but basic customer service skills. I would rather support mom and pop Chinese restaurants. Its too expensive for what you get. Avoid avoid avoid.

This place has gone down drastically year after year!! From burnt food to wrong items in order, it's too much and not the quality that it had in the past. Not to mention paying 6 bucks for a extra small container that literally only came with 6 shrimps, if that

I usually don't leave reviews but I felt so compelled to write a review about this young lady! Joyce is the SWEETEST person I've ever met! Every time I get food from there she has a smile on her face with a new joke to tell. She's just so kind, I truly admire that! All the germantown staff are so kind but I had to specifically shout out Joyce! I hope you get a raise lovely, you so deserve it!

Will always love and crave orange chicken from Panda Express. This location had efficient service and a good amount of seating. I got the bowl with chow mein and orange chicken, and it was delicious! Tasty and oily, but inexpensive and always hits the spot.

I use to love going to this place, till I got really sick ... never again, I almost died from food poisoning well feels like I'm exaggerating but it was pretty bad, won't be visiting anymore Panda Express goodbye

Worst experience ever! They refused to give a cup of water for free like all restaurants. Worst Customer service, very rude and speaking about a paper cup to get water is $2. Stop Charging $2 for a cup of water. Water should be free!! I will never eat at your restaurant again. Customer since 2014. I received the free cup of water at the restaurant near you and they have the best customer service too, very welcoming and warm. Go ask them for water, BOBAPop gave me water in a better cup than Panda paper cups too. Thank you.

This is like your average panda express. Food is standard and normal as always. Nothing special. However, they give you very small portions. I received 4 pieces of the honey walnut shrimp one time... Also, this establishment lacks in organization. When it gets packed, it gets kind of crazy and it takes more than half an hour just to get food. With the mix of online orders and in-person orders, you will wait a long time either way. Service could be a little better.

I always liked panda. Everything always tastes the same at most of the panda's for the most part. I normally get the half and half and double order of orange chicken but this time i ordered orange chicken with Beijing beef and my usual half and half. Tasted good and nothing really bad to say. I ordered black pepper angus beef ans orange chicken and super greens. There was about 4 pieces of angus beef no red peppers or mushroom and the super greens was sautéed romaine lettuce. Disappointed with appearance and serving size of the dish.

Came in during the lunch rush on a weekend and it was (unsurprisingly) very busy. Despite there only being a 20 minute wait, one customer became unreasonably agitated and began yelling loudly at the staff for his long wait and repeatedly shouted at them to "just shut up and do their job", screaming over and over "I don't care, just shut up". The way the staff handled the entire situation was EXTREMELY professional; in particular the staff member serving and preparing his meal. She exercised clear patience, speaking calmly, and respectfully, to deescalating the situation, and continued to help serve other guests warmly. Overall, very impressed with the service and was very satisfied with my food.

I like this Panda Express, as I entered the restaurant I was welcomed with multiple "Helloooooo!" or "Welcome!" greetings from all around. Even got one from the back of the house from someone I couldn't even see! The food was fine and there was no wait which was great. All-in-all the transaction took me only about 5 minutes to get my food and go. I love their orange chicken, I don't know why but there are just some days you feel like eating a nice few bites of lukewarm orange chicken and this was one of those days. The noodles were fine, cold and crunchy thanks to heaping handfuls of cabbage. The orange chicken was hard but warm and surprisingly hit the spot that day. I would say 5 stars for service and 3 stars for food but it's Panda Express. Food isn't going to be phenomenal, it's going to be quick!

If I could give them a zero I would. I tried putting In an online catering order for later on today but the site wasn't working.It just kept loading. When I called I asked if it was possible to make the order over the phone since the website was acting strange. I was told yes but then he suggested I just download the app and make the order that way. I told him I didn't wanna do that and I would prefer to make it over the phone instead. He then asked if he could call back later and confirm my order since people call in and make orders all the time but don't pay. I was clearly trying to pay right before I called smh. S/O to this location for horrible customer service!!!!

March 2021 Been to a few different Panda Express locations. I sent my husband yesterday at 12pm to get Chinese food. He came back and they had only given him 4 Honey Walnut Shrimp!!!! Why pay $1.25 extra when they only give you 4!! Very disappointed! (Husband HATES sea food so there is no way he ate the rest) I still can not believe this location. April 2021 Decided to give Panda a second chance because I really like their noodles. Sent my husband again And this time it was WORSE!!!! Still paid extra for shrimp & only got 5 & the noodles? What noodles??!! It was mainly cabbage!!!! So dissatisfied & disappointed!

We've always enjoyed Panda as a quick food option. But never returning to this location. They've established some bizarre "no glass for water" policy - forcing their customers into paying $2 for a bottle of water or a soda. We're a family of 5 that prefers water over soda - but paying an extra $10 is ridiculous.

It's pretty decent , but the last time I came here I got food poisoning!! But the service is good!!

Good, average, okay Chinese. They're not perfect, but they're consistent. I've only had 1 time where I ordered and the food wasn't good - maybe been sitting out all day. Every other time the food is fine. I always get walnut shrimp - definitely the best entree! I wish they consistently had cheese wontons. But. I have a feeling that's a supply chain issue.

I did an online order for a pick up time of 1:16pm. I didn't leave until 1:32pm. Everyone who ordered in person got their food before me. What is the point of ordering online if it is not going to be ready in time?

I have been going there for years. I was there earlier today for lunch. I seen the manager their named Robbie having a very inappropriate conversation with a team member. Her name is Lillian. She is a sweet heart, has been there for years. He was yelling at her and talking down to her. He made her cry. Smh.He is VERY RUDE!!!! No one should ever be spoken too in that way no matter where you at. Especially not at work. Definitely not coming back. I feel so sorry for her. I hope she is ok.

I came to pick up and order today and noticed one of the employees who goes by the name of Robby being very rude and yelling at a young lady. I believe her name was Lilian. I had no clue why he was speaking to her in such a way but it was very unprofessional. She helped me white my order and was very polite so I was in shock seeing him treat her such a way but it was very embarrassing. I really wouldn't come back to the restaurant knowing that's how employees there are treating one another.

I asked chapstick did not get it. The orange chicken had after taste disgusting. Chow Mein very dry. I guess that's what you get for ordering UberEat Even though I was not satisfied, someone contacted me to discuss they do care about their customers and That's why I changed my rating. Hopefully, my 3rd order will be good

We ordered their food through delivery. We have been there for dine in or carry out and they try to fill up the plate with entrees. This time we ordered the bowl of orange chicken and they had maybe 5 pieces of chicken. All rice. When I called the manager she was unsympathetic and told me to drive out - which I couldn't which is why we ordered delivery in the first place. Rude. They cheated us because we asked for delivery probably knowing we couldn't do anything because we couldn't see the food being put together.

Despite having a stack of "soda only" cups, won't give cups for water because management doesn't allow it. Must be rough working there

The service was horrible I ordered online was told my order did not come threw by one employee. At the same time another employee says her order here. Clearly, they do not have good communication at that location. On top of that I was told I had wait 10 minutes extra even though my food should've been ready when I arrived. It is mess there will not be visiting that location.

I came with my kid today, the chow mein noodle is raw and undercooked like crunchy sticks. I have been eating very regularly in Panda Express for several years now. This is worst food ever and very very har to chew, it almost chocked my kid. The One in cash register is showing lot of attitude, definitely not customer friendly. If you are still planning to be here pick the right time to be here. They don't care what S*** they serve . They just dump it on you

The food quality is garbage and they give you more veggies than proteins and when I ordered beef and broccoli I got 3 pieces of beef and a whole lot of broccoli if I wanted just broccoli I would've ordered it

Shrimp portion is 4 ? And they ask you to pay extra? Ridiculous. And the soda machine was broken. Pathetic. I won't be back.

Decent place, good food, good service - totally ruined by refusal to provide a cup to drink water from the soda fountain. Hope manager enjoys saving 5 cents to lose ~$20 a month from me. Just can't reward such a bad customer service decision by returning. However, I will change this review to 5 stars if management responds saying they now offer water cups when asked.

Try to avoid this PE since ordering is a pain, they don't accept credit cards and the food quality is just really bad.

My experience was amazing such great hardworking employees, very kind and quick. Im so sorry you guys have to deal with such a**hole customers that complain about the dumbest things ... who complains about having too much rice in their container ? I never thought id experience a grown adult act like that ... people never cease to amaze me, but anyway I hope everyone that was working on 05/13/22 at around closing time have a wonderful stress free weekend. I love Panda Express, not only for the food but for the service this location exudes. I am waiting in line and notice a worker name Joyce is keeping conversation with everyone and being patient. Seeing her light up other customers with her charisma made the line go by so fast. On top of all that my orange chicken and low mein were amazinggggg!! I will be back! Give Joyce a raise!!!

I was shocked! These people asked how I was doing. .. More than one person! Smiles on they're face, I actually feel really good leaving that restaurant. It felt like I just left Chick-fil-A when it comes to customer service. There was even a customer in front of me, that was let's say, not so nice. The lady even asked her how she was doing. I was astonished! I will definitely be back!

There was only one person working the cash register as well as serving up the food so there was a wait and a line started to form but she tried her best to expedite and remain upbeat. I noticed there was a new entree item, Five Flavor Shrimp which I sampled and I plan to purchase next time. We purchased a double order of orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, chow mein and fried rice to go for a quick dinner.

I've literally called this location everyday this week trying to ask one simple question, but no matter how many times I call NO ONE picks up. Why have a phone if you don't make it a priority...People have lives not everyone has time, or a car to drive up there to ask ONE question. Learn to use your phones better.

Hands down the worst carry out meal we ever had! Total waste of money! We are a family of five who love good Chinese take out. So we ordered the family meal which has three entrees, two large sides, and added 6 egg rolls. Everything smelled bad, and was uniformly bland with yucky textures. Even the condiments were horrible (hot mustard and duck sauce special made for Panda Express). Everyone barely touched the food. We all love leftovers, but everyone agreed, the 90% of the food that was left went straight into the trash. Will never eat there again.

I came with my children to eat lunch took the tops off my food and started eating my son noticed there tops had dust all over them I said something to the manager eric and he gave me attitude and started acting upset cause I wanted new orders they pulled out more containers all full of dust and he tried to give me 2 shrimp and a lil bit of rice he didn't want to give me new plates of what I paid for never coming here again they dont take responsibility my children could of got sick off that dust they couldn't tell me what it was

I like this Panda Express. The lady working the counter when I came in was really friendly, apologized for the wait, and made the whole ordering process enjoyable. The rice was so-so. I thought it tasted old and dry, but I find that's a Panda Express thing, not a thing specific to this location. The orange chicken is pretty good if you like super Americanized Chinese food, which a lot of people do, so don't totally knock it if it's not your cup of tea. The beef and broccoli is good. So is the chicken thing with the pineapples, red peppers, and onions - I forget what it's called. If you're watching your weight, get a bowl with steamed vegetables and one of the leaner entrees like the chicken and green beans. A bowl is one entree and one side while a plate is two entrees and one side. The difference between them is only $1, so price-wise it's more worth it to get the plate in the long run, but if you're more health conscious the bowl is a better portion size. This location had a broken ice machine when I was there, so that was a little bit of a bummer considering it's been really hot out, but they were good about letting us know with multiple signs inside and outside the restaurant. They also let us know before we purchased a soft drink cup. So they have good service in my opinion.

This location has the friendliest and accommodating staff :) If you're looking for good American 'Chinese food' hard to beat the speed, price, and quality of this place. Love the orange chicken.

Pretty good food compared to another Panda Express but it's amazing how slow this store still is. I understand having to wait 10 mins after the order was supposed to be ready but 20 mins waiting???

The hours for this location say it closes at 9:30. When I walked in at 9:11 the manager informed us the fryers and ovens are already off. We could pick from the leftovers but that was all that would be available to us. Why lie about your operating hours? Terrible service and disrespectful management. Stay away or pick the Thai place down the street.

OK - so this is glorified fast-food Chinese. So get past that when you eat here. You can't knock this place for not being a fancy Chinese eatery. Pros : Nice, clean atmosphere. That in itself is a lot give how dirty and unhygienic most Chinese fast-food places are. Friendly staff that patiently explained the specials and deal of the day. Again, contrast that to the rude, unintelligible staff at most mall fast-food places. Dishes that were fresh tasted really good. Cons : Not everything was fresh. Some of the older dishes tasted stale after sitting under the warmer for a few hours. It may be because we went on a slow Sunday night. I would pick this place over most Chinese fast--food/take out places. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

I came here yesterday and was impressed by how clean and spacious it was. Also, I laughed when I read the sign that Panda Express started out as "fine dining." Ha. I shared an order of kung pao chicken, Thai cashew chicken, beef with broccoli, and half lo mein/half fried rice with my boyfriend. The food was very tasty and hot as I ate it. Once I got home, we both knocked out for two hours and woke up feeling extremely drowsy and woozy. Darn you, MSG. They must have put tons of it in here. I felt horrible, and neither the taste nor the price will convince me to return.

Avoid stuff with asparagus, which is sometimes hard to chew. Samurai Surf and Turf is half (or more) potatoes, some shrimp, a few chewy bits of beef. Best to eat in in case you get some of these surprises, so you can take it back right there, instead of finding out when you get home.

I have been watching the development of this location and was happy when they recently opened. I hate going to the mall food court for quick Chinese food. This location is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is good. The buffet line was full - I hate when they are down to the last portion of an item. It is usually soggy and not enough to be a portion. They offered samples which was nice. If you want quick and good quality, this is a great choice. If you rather have made to order food, you may not like what Panda Express has to offer. I will be back to this location.
