Eh. Ordered a bowl to go with vegetables and chicken and string beans via the drive thru. I got home and there was literally a couple of very small pieces of chicken and an abundance of green beans. I can’t eat a ton of string beans so I started taking them out and there were just so many. Very disappointing. Check your food.

Google
This is completely sad for a kids meal that cost over $7. The meat use to fill the one half of the container. Won’t be purchasing for my son again, it won’t fill him up.

Wendy R.

Google
Not a fan of the food at Panda Express. I don't like their fried rice or lo mean at all and most of their food is mediocre. The walnut shrimp is what I go for if I have to go. It's pretty good. The service in this particular store was ok. The wait was long for as many people as they had working. They were friendly and helpful just not as quick as they could have been. It seemed everybody was doing something besides helping customers, only one girl was doing that out of about 10 people running around.

Google
Tried this location and I am tired of stale food. The noodles got dried in pan, quantity was not enough. They need to work hard or hard time is coming for them. Orange chicken was dry and pepper chicken had no flavour. There is ample parking and it’s near to a gas station. Handicap access is good.

Google
We placed an order to celebrate a relative visit, and we chose Panda Express because we ordered from another occasion and she loved the food. When my husband was about to go, I called him to come back, we had an emergency. We were about to go to the hospital or calling emergency services. After making sure my relative was feeling better, my husband went to get the food only to find that it had been discarded and they wouldn't replace it. We were having a bad day that only got worse ☹️.

March, 2025: I lucked out with a visit on some night where corporate staff was in town (see videos). They hooked me up with a huge entree portion of orange chicken, and I’ve never seen such excellent service at any Panda in my lifetime! I’m raising my rating up to a very solid 4+ stars. October, 2022, unfortunately this location still has dated pandemic era closing hours of 9:30PM on a Friday night. The do have the infrastructure (a drive through window) to stay open later. Also, with the food, whether take out, or dining in, it just doesn’t seem as fresh and hot as other Panda locations.

Order #38703766676570117. I was a little late picking up a meal I ordered online, and I had a minor emergency. I arrived an hour late picking up my meal. When I arrived, I was surprised to find they had thrown it away. They told me I had to buy it again. The manager at the time told me there was nothing they could do except buy it again. I'm a frequent customer, and I'm very disappointed.

Google
I love stopping here to eat every time we bring my daughter to Inova for her neurology appointments. The staff are always friendly, and the atmosphere is always a vibe. The only reason why I dont rate it five stars is because their restrooms don't have a changing table 😩. They have highchairs available, so you would think they have changing tables too. It just sucks, because the past two times we went, I had to change my daughter in the hot car😔.

Yelp
Solid food, awesome drive through, super convenient and they're always quick and courteous. They once short filled my orange chicken order. However they were very quick to remedy that one instance!!! Keep doing yall gatehouse plaza Panda Express!

Brandon W.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible customer service! On 11/18, I arrived to pick up an Uber Eats delivery in the pouring rain. A Tesla was blocking the drive-thru because the autopilot wasn't working correctly. When I finally pulled up to the window, I asked Nick--the employee working the drive-thru--if he knew whose car it was. He laughed and said it belonged to one of his employees. I told him it wasn't funny and that the car needed to be moved immediately because it was blocking traffic. I then asked for my order, and he told me he had just given it to someone else. He refused to remake the order and told me to contact Uber for assistance instead. I drove 20 minutes in freezing rain at 12 a.m. for a $30 tip, only for Nick to essentially take money out of my pocket. Absolutely incompetent staff!

Yelp
I had lunch from Panda Express about a week ago from the location in Falls Church. The young lady that took my order was polite and efficient. I like this location as there is a drive thru. I had the meal with two entrees: beef and broccoli and honey sesame chicken which was really good. I just wish they would bring back the apple pie egg rolls. Solid lunch, decent price.
google avatar

Mister H B.

Yelp
Bad customer service! I noticed the girl helping me with my order, Izarel was her name, I noticed she didn't give me a full scoop of the honey sesame chicken I was ordering so I asked if I could have a bit more, she refused and said that's all you get, not more! I would think to maintain a high level of customer service she could have given me a bit more.. in no way that would hurt the business! But she was stubborn and refused my minimal request! A manager should talk to her about good customer service!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
The food was mostly good. The portions were skimpy. I got the 3 plate with side. The beef and broccoli had very small portion of beef and an over abundance of broccoli. My soda had no flavor. It was mostly carbonated water and just enough syrup to color the water.

Tomas Z.

Yelp
All I can say Panda Express came a long way ! Quality of food is way better than before ! Delivered on time !

Marla J.

Yelp
The food is always tasty at Panda Express. Today I had a long Dr appt so we needed to stop for lunch before driving 2 hours home. We stopped at Panda Express, ordered & sat down to eat. A few minutes later 2 girls were leaving & stopped at the door & gasped & then covered their mouths as they were looking at the floor. I leaned over to look & saw a dead mouse laying on the floor right by the entrance door... This is NOT good!!!

Yelp
The best part of trying out Panda Express was the ease of online ordering. Outside of this, nothing else was very good. Issue 1: Our to-go order was packed in such a way that all the sauces ran out of the containers and into the bag. Issue 2: The food just isn't very appetizing. The rice was lukewarm at best, the proteins were almost nonexistent and over fried,. Just overall meh... While the ordering was a breeze, we won't be back to try another round with panda.

Catherine J.

Yelp
Food was very good (teriyaki chicken and fried rice, egg roll). We went inside to order. Line was short and the server was friendly.
google avatar

Gene W.

Yelp
Fast and efficient chinese food. A tad on expensive side if you order the more entrees. The fried rice is god awful. No flavor just like the chow mein. The premium entrees are usually not worth the extra money. The mushroom chicken & orange chicken are safe bets. The spring/egg rolls/ rangoons are iffy depending on location. I suggest signing up for Panda rewards before ordering to get the best bang for your buck if you frequent this place. The turnover of food is fast and often so you definitely don't have entrees sitting around for a long time. Service is iffy depending on location. Avg at best.

Airene G.

Yelp
Ive ordered from here and ita ok. I just picked up some food just now and theyre making one of their workers, a young girl, remove gum from their drive way using an electric drill in this heat...
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
As long as you're realistic, Panda Express for the price is decent. They aren't going to be your favorite Chinese food spot. Yet having a job that requires me to be on the move, their drive thru operation is impeccable. Rarely are there any delays, and mistakes are minimal. For the price this helps with the munchies. Very good employees here. Also this restaurant is extremely clean. I like that you can watch food being cooked. There's no mystery behind the curtain. Orange chicken and beef with broccoli work for me. They have a number of rice or noodle choices. If in a hurry, this can accommodate you well.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
I got what i needed, but it didn't scratch the Chinese food craving. Service was good for a fast food joint, but the food just didn't do it for me. Lost of flour, sugar, and carbs, and wasn't satisfying. I wish I could get a refund on the calories, they can keep the money.

Charlene J.

Yelp
Went in on 2/21 around 3 PM. No line but the women couldn't figure out who was going to assist me in my order. Finally, the Caucasian woman came over to help. The Latino women pretended to be busy or just stood around. Please get more responsive and customer friendly workers.
google avatar

Allie N.

Yelp
It's a panda express. I will say this one has never given me food poisoning like some others I've been to! The location is a little hard to get into, and they have many mobile orders that they prioritize in stead of current customers. All that being said, I do feel like this is one of the best panda expresses in the area ! They keep it very clean, and the food is prepared well.

Victor P.

Yelp
teriyaki chicken very smelliest to urine. Quality of food is declining every day. i will never go to this place again.
google avatar

Bill H.

Yelp
I have been ordering from Panda Express and the quality seems to have been going down. It may be just the one I go to all the time, but is still is incumbent to representative the chain to have better quality.
google avatar

Harold H.

Yelp
I've ordered from here lots of times one times I forgot the orange chicken I was told I can pick it up later why today I ordered a large plate pay $27 for delivery two got a small plate very little rice very little chow mein and the broccoli only have broccoli three pieces of meat. I'm gonna have to stop ordering out.

Kim J.

Yelp
They serve "a plate" with contents of "a bowl." I gave then a chance, but they keep shorting my order. Will never eat panda again.
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
I have to admit... Panda Express is my guilty pleasure. This isn't gourmet, or your Grandma's cooking, but it satisfies the craving. Crossing fingers that despite the economy Panda Express keeps their prices. I paid less than $8 for the "bowl" which is a side (rice, chow mein) and a protein (kung pao chicken). It's not bad to sit inside either. Service was good and very quick, no complaints. So I give this a 4/5 for food meeting expectations, satisfying cravings, and being a low budget spot to grab a bite with friends.
google avatar

Sora S.

Yelp
I placed a order so I could grab my food and get back to work and when I went to pick up they said we don't have your order and I showed them that the order was placed and they told me to contact customer support and that they were not going to make me my food they were rude and not helpful I would rate them lower if I could. Do not recommend Them
google avatar

Jessica O.

Yelp
This location always has fast service and friendly staff. They also have a drive thru. Their food is always hot and fresh. If you are looking for genuine Chinese food this is probably not the place especially because there are tons of other places in the area. But it is a good value for the portion sizes and still pretty tasty. I tried their limited time hot chicken and was disappointed. For "fast food" there are some real healthy options on the menu like the beef and broccoli.
google avatar

Vera J.

Yelp
Friendly and fast service. You'll get a generous portion if you go during off peak hours. Way better than the other location in the mall.

Patrick C.

Yelp
Save yourself the aggravation if you want something vegan as in the Beyond Orange Chicken. I found out that it's discontinued and the person telling me that didn't seem to thrilled with my questions. Last time, they told us that they were out not that it was discontinued, so wasted a trip to just the Panda Express ri be told that it's discontinued. A couple of weeks ago an order was messed up and had to be thrown out due to allergies. No apology even after contacting the customer feedback. Tonight the customer feedback number hung up on me trice and the email system isn't working. Why bother? In an era where Birger King can offer an Impossible Whopper, why is it so hard for a Chinese-themed restaurant to offer vegetarian and vegan options? And, please save the mixed greens comment as a vegetarian option as that's a waste of $13 for about $2 worth of greens and rice that can be made in wee minutes at home. With poor customer care at this location and now corporate, why bother? It's obvious that nobody cares about the customer at the corporate level and at this store. And I thought the one on the main campus of GMU was bad.
google avatar

Yelp
As Asian-inspired fast food, my experience is this is pretty (darn) good. My daughter and I were heading home from a shopping trip, and she asked to pick up dinner from Panda Express. I had never been and figured it would be fun to try. She had a cub (kid's) meal with chow mein and their "famous" orange chicken. I had a "bigger plate" with fried rice, orange chicken (just as famous), wok-fried shrimp, and black pepper Angus steak. We did drive-through, and the food was ready in a few minutes. It was packed very well and still hot when we got home 15 minutes later. Everything except the steak was delicious. We would have no problem ordering it again.
google avatar

Tasnu R.

Yelp
Some of these people are so stingy with the amount of food they give you, you'd think they get docked in their paycheck. It's ridiculous. Terrible experience. This place has been declining for a while now and I hope management is taking note because this ultimately falls on them for poor training and accountability. Utter disappointment.

Ronald P.

Yelp
The young lady at the drive through was extremely rude. I'm done with this location, I asked for orange chicken on both sides and she screamed no? How you gonna tell me no when it's my money. I proceeded to say honey walnut shrimp to only find 3 pieces. You have to be kidding me.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
The food was terrible this visit. This is my go-to takeout meal. Have it twice a week, so am very familiar. Teriyaki chicken with no color, grayish, mushy....not like Panda at all. There was zero char anywhere to be seen. It needs that texture; and that is the standard at any other location. The power greens were 1/3 uncooked cabbage rib; completely inedible. Two completely over cooked broccoli crowns and one solid as a rock uncooked crown and some perfectly-cooked kale covered in raw garlic rounded out the dish. Lastly, the black pepper chicken. How you can perfectly cook the celery, not cook the onions, and turn the chicken to absolute overcooked mush all while imparting ZERO FLAVOR is beyond me. That takes talent. I threw it in the trash. My husband dug it out to get a refund. I literally will never order from this place again after the quality of that horrible food went by so many eyes and still served. You have to be overlooking any kind of food quality standards if you serve this to people. I no longer trust the standards there so I am not spending any more money there. This was not even close to okay product, and it was plainly visible to the naked eye from cook to manager to server. They all served slop without batting an eye. That is all I need to know to know a place is not worthy of my hard-earned money.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
Orange chicken came with long black hair inside. When I called management informed me that workers were supposed to wear hairnets but don't always do that. DISGUSTING. I used to frequent this location because it has a drive thru but I'll never be going to Panda again.
google avatar

Jesús F.

Yelp
Wow impressive how they don't give you full portions I had to pay extra for some celery pieces wow NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN

David P.

Yelp
Asked for a bigger plate. My request was heard. My 3rd entree was not asked for. My plate was not shown to me before paying. I had to tell them they didn't give me everything I ordered or even a chance to tell them what I want. Got my third entree in a separate to go box. Not busy inside but a rushed experience. Many employees sitting at a table. Maybe they hired too many people because these people had nothing to do. Looks like they don't have a container for a bigger plate available at all. The brewed mango tea was weak and bland. Bathroom needs cleaning. Toilet was nasty. Air dryer was hard to use. Paper towels dispenser too close to trash can under it. Haven't been to Panda Express in years before this. Would recommend any other authentic Chinese restaurant instead.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
The food is great but the food was really dry. They also give small portions of food like half of the spoon they put the food in

Erin S.

Yelp
Poor service, tiny portions and inconsistent quality. This place has gone completely downhill.

Kent C.

Yelp
Awful. I was giving just a few spoonfuls of Black Angus steak and 5lbs of rice. Terrible! I love chinese food. That being said, I could only stomach a few bites of this. Nothing was good. This was my first time at a Panda Express. It will be my last.

Manuel B.

Yelp
I came here a couple of months ago when I was in town. I enjoyed it the. But not now. I'm back in town and decided to go to this location again. Its close to the hotel I'm staying at. I will not be going back to this location. Extremely small portions. I asked for a bigger plate and double teriyaki chicken and shrimp. I opens it up and went back to the register and nicely said "hey can I have more chicken. This is half of what the double teriyaki chicken was." I was told they could not give me more because I already paid for it. I would have to pay $5 extra dollars. WTF. I looked at my receipt and I was charged for orange chicken not teriyaki. I work in hospitality. I do not recommend going to this location.
google avatar

Mohammed A.

Yelp
Went to pickup some food and one of their staff is behind the counter eating in his own plate, he used his own fork to pick some food from the service buffet into his plate. Not only that, but whistling too near the food at the time where everyone has a mask on these days! This place should be shut down..

Brandon P.

Yelp
I think the food is pretty decent and it's a generous portion for the price. I usually get the beijing beef and the honey walnut shrimp. The shrimp is considered premium but I think it's worth it. If you want some cheap, Americanized Chinese food come to Panda
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
I wanted to say an extra THANKS for the great customer service. I called a few other Panda Expresses that were closer to where I was going to take a catered lunch to a customer. Others said that they could not do, even though I was ordering 20 hrs from when I needed to pick up... but Cliff and his team delivered... with a smile and a thank you for the order! MUCH APPRECIATED AND EVERYONE LOVED THE LUNCH!!!

Pura V.

Yelp
We always come here every Sunday and for the past 3 months the manager is so stingy with the amount of food. Today I left with disgust as I pay, Tony the manager literally weighed each of my plate (4) and tells his staff in front of a customer that's it's too heavy. Since when does Panda weight their food? What is he going to do open up my plate and take some of the food out? Seriously !!! Tony should be replaced or no staff or customer will stay.
google avatar

Rick R.

Yelp
I think they have a training class on "how to completely ignore customers." Every time I come here, their staff completely ignores my request and puts food I don't want on my plate. They speak english, so they understand. But they consistently ignore my request for no vegetables and put them on the plate anyway, as if they didn't hear me. They have clearly been trained to ignore customers. It's insulting for them to pretend they don't understand.
google avatar

Mike E.

Yelp
I went there early today for lunch, if you are pressed for time do not go exactly at lunch. I ordered ahead using the app but there was still a line at the drive thru. Other than the extended wait everything else was pretty standard. I ordered the chow mein with shrimp and super greens. The super green are suppose to be a mix of cabbage, broccoli and kale. I only had two small pieces of broccoli and no kale to my disappointment. They were heavy on the cabbage, the dish had a lot of big and hard cabbage pieces. I have eaten at other locations were u received a balanced mix of the veggies. The shrimp portion was good and so was the noodles. I would go back and perhaps pick a different side from the super greens
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Made the mistake of eating here on July 31, 2018 for Dinner! Wife ordered Veggie Chow Mein with Black Pepper Chicken and Mushroom with Chicken. I ordered Veggie Chow Mein and wanted a Pork Dish that they had advertised, but told they didn't have. So got the Teriyaki Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. Wife went looking for Soy Sauce, which wasn't around. She goes back to the cashier, and asks for some. Cashier tells her that we don't have any! Want 'Chinese' place doesn't have Soy Sauce! We go to sit down and eat, and the food wasn't that good! We ate what we could, and threw the rest away! We go home, and in the middle of the night, we both started to feel sick! We both had to use the toilet several times before our stomachs started to feel somewhat good again! We don't know if it was the Chow Mein or the Chicken that we ate that got us sick, and we both nearly missed a Day of Work because of this! We will never come back to this location ever again! The location in Tyson's is 100% better than this DUMP anytime of the week! Do not eat here if you value your health and money!
google avatar

Rachel A.

Yelp
I'm devastated that there's no more sweet-and-sour sauce. The plum sauce which is actually horse and sauce, is discussed. I ordered weekly my kids are upset too!
google avatar

Andy H.

Yelp
Came for lunch on a Saturday, wasn't busy and walked up and ordered right away. Got rice rice with honey sesame chicken and the beef with broccoli. First let's say that the fried rice was not too dry, you can taste the carrots and peas, wasn't bland. The honey chicken though was very sweet and didn't taste the sesame, they brought it back to the menu from a couple years ago so they probably did some changes but I wouldn't get it again. The beef was good, still juicy and had their crisp, not too spicy and went really well with the fried rice. Would recommend to anyone out to have a quick tasty lunch by the merrifield area !

Thomas P.

Yelp
Dont know what happen to panda express but when you gotta argue 4 pieces of little chicken in a serving isnt worth the price and they say thats the normal size its time to walk away......sad!
google avatar

Ross B.

Yelp
I experienced extreme sadness after my visit here. Not because of any disappointment with my food; but because this was my first time eating here, and i realized that I threw away the last 23 years of my life due to the absence of Panda Express. For only 6.99, I recieved the most amazing plate of Beijing beef, orange chicken, and a heaping pile of fried rice, and it was fantastic. Thank you Panda Express: I'm so glad we found each other.
google avatar

Gayle G.

Yelp
For what it is (fast Chinese food) it is good!!! I had only seen Panda Express at malls like Pentagon City and Tysons. I was actually driving back from the Tysons hood..and I was starving. I didn't want to grab a burger. I wanted to do something somewhat healthy..but quick. As I was passing through Merrifield, I spotted the Panda Express. I had never seen one that is in its own building, let alone with a drive through!! I always get the orange chicken here. The chicken has a nice mix of sweet and sour spices. I went with a 2 entree plate with the orange chicken and beef with broccoli. At this Panda location, they offer the choice of not only fried or steamed rice, but also lo mein or steamed veggies as your side.
google avatar

Pragnakar P.

Yelp
Had food delivered via Uber eats. The food is beyond absurd. I would never eat at any Panda Express restaurant.
google avatar

Emma N.

Yelp
Service is pretty quick but my black pepper beef was burnt. Couldn't taste anything but charr. The rest of my food (lo mein and Kung Pao chicken) were Medicare at best. I think this will be my last time at this location. Unfortunately
