Pasadena’s New Panda Express Is the Healthiest, Most Veggie-Focused Location Yet | Eater LA

"Opening on February 6, this new Panda Express sister concept in Pasadena emphasizes vegetable-forward, healthier fast-casual dishes while retaining signature items in reimagined formats. Highlights include an orange chicken salad and an ’rrito that substitutes a scallion pancake for a tortilla-like wrapper; wok-seared garlic kale; cabbage and broccoli; glazed carrots and Brussels sprouts; an Asian vegetable crudité; and a quinoa fried rice aimed at nutrition-conscious diners. The Pasadena location — the fourth Southern California outlet after Westwood, Hacienda Heights, and Monterey Park — is being used as a testing ground to see which dishes might be applied to other Panda Express restaurants. The interior is modern with neon signs and a tea-parlor vibe, and the beverage lineup features pearl milk teas, fruit teas, lemonades, smoothies, and sparkling yogurt drinks. Located in the same building as one of the chain’s original Panda Express sites from over 20 years ago, it will be open 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Sundays." - Mona Holmes

I've been to this location several times since I've lived in Pasadena for the past 3 and a half years. The classic top-rated American Chinese fast food that they're well-known for can be found here. The portions are not as generous as some other hole-in-the-wall American Chinese fast food places but there is definitely quality to be found here. The limited-edition Hot Orange Chicken is a must have if you read this review and they still have it available. Beijing Beef is another go-to entree and we cannot forget about the Honey Sesame Chicken Breast or the Honey Walnut Shrimp. All of them highly recommend.

We went to this Panda Express because the one in south pasadena had a rat at their location. This one is super clean, the service was quick, and the people working there were great. The food was fresh and amazing for fast food! Def coming here again.

i come to this location very frequently and honestly, it's one of the best pandas i've ever been to. the food is always fresh, the service is always nice, and the place is always very clean (see pic of 100/100 pasadena rating on the door). plenty of seating indoors, with a couple of chairs and a table outside, too. all wheelchair accessible. can get busy during lunch and dinner hours, especially with mobile pick-up + indoor crowd, but they're always pretty quick in handling everything. highly recommend this location.

I only give the extra star for the food. It was one of the worst customer service I have ever received in years! Went there to pick up my online order. I went into the store through the front of the store. Kimeko decided to ignore me and helped other male customers who came from the back of the store instead. After she kept helping like the 3rd male customers, I got upset and spoke over the other customer to pick up my order. She said that she needed to see my phone. I asked her to check to see if they were ready first. She checked and said she couldn't find them. I had no choice but to go to my car to get my phone. I got back to the store with my phone and showed her the order number. She saw it and said I had to wait for another 10 minutes for the teriyaki to be done. I waited and waited and she put my order on the back of the counter until I confronted her how much longer I had to wait. She then threw my order to me and walked away. I was left there in shock with her horrible customer service. I saw another helper in the store and I asked her for this horrible staff's name. She told me that her name is Kimeko. Those female customers out there ever see a shorter than average size, Asian looking chubby female there, I would advise you to ask for another person to help with your service. I don't think any of us deserve any form of gender discrimination.

Theresa and Les are two of the nicest workers. I would totally recommend the space. I had the most wonderful experience with both ladies. I hope whoever does this review or receives. It could make sure that they are very well appreciated.

A "fun" place in general. The place is very well cleaned and maintained. Very interesting and creative "paper-fan" lighting. The staff is honestly helpful and the Hot Orange Chicken is extraordinary. Communal tables are available. The food is consistently enjoyable.
