Panda Express

One of the stranger fast food places—food quality varies wildly and is ultimately dependent on who is cooking that day. Portion and value depend on who serves you. That is, you’ll be paying the same amount for either a light plate with all veggies and no meat, or a dense meal that you’ll probably save for the next day! Every day is a gamble! A cheaper and tastier alternative is a small Asian restaurant, not a big company. But you could always get lucky…

I’ve visited this location of Panda Express multiple times, and they always have good service, plenty of parking, quick, clean, friendly staff. Unlike some other locations, they always have very fresh fried rice and orange chicken. Definitely recommend👍

Newly opened restaurant and so the atmosphere was nice. Food was okay, as the fried rice was so dry. Noodles quantity was less too. Paying premium for shrimp - giving very less pieces. The price doesn’t justify their quantity and taste. Online deal was the best thing.

Love this location! Food is always fresh and hot. Overall they have plenty options to choose from for entree’s. The beef and broccoli is a family favorite in my household. This location is top tier

It was less than an hour before close and the food was better than I expected. This location always has EXCELLENT, FRESH FOOD during regular hours. I knew I was taking a chance purchase after the woks were off for the night. But is was good. THE REAL REASON I WANT TO COMMENT IS THE EXCELLENT SERVICE I RECEIVED FROM ANDREW. HE WAS AMAZING. KIND, CONSIDERSTE, TOOK CARE TO MAKE SURE THE ORDER WAS RIGHT. I DEEPLY APPRECIATE ANDREW AND THE SERVICE HE PROVIDED. Although it was near close and he was already completing closing functions, he gave me A-1 service. Make that man a manager!

Of all the Panda stores this place is very skimpy on portions. I ordered mushroom chicken and Beijing beef. I thought the Beijing beef was not enough left for one portion but she still left 3 pieces of meat left! Really you couldn’t just finish it and cook some more? Don’t think I’ll come here again.

Updated 10/10/2023: The food is tasty for the price point and the portion is generous. The dining hall is clean and the staffs are courteous. A good choice for a quick meal. Original review in 2020: They keep the high quality food of Panda Express here. My family liked the family meal very much during the stay-at-home order. The server at the drive-thru had good hygiene wear.

After eating Panda, I feel and look like a panda. Slow, rolling, and full - all in a good way. This particular location has a great staff - kind, welcoming, and accommodating. It’s very clean. Don’t know how long it’s been here but it looks like it opened recently. Absolutely spotless and fresh. I’m sitting here now and listening to this great music as well. Jammin to Panda!!

this is my favorite store. staff is so welcoming, friendly and not hesitant of giving us a little extra meat. its always fresh and warm. drivethru is always busy. dining area is always clean. Great spot to get fast food. My favorite is Beijing beef, shrimp with almond.

This place almost never gives the teriyaki sauce with the teriyaki chicken, even when you order it and it shows on the receipt and you've only ordered one meal, it's ridiculous. Cub meals missing the fruit and drinks as well, the one on 12 mile is much more competent. Employees are unfriendly as well in the past 1-2 years, idk why this place imploded

Panda Express has become my favorite fast food place because the food is always hot, tastes fresher than all the other fast food choices, and I love the variety! This particular location is always super quick during the lunch rush, which I appreciate. Definitely recommend the honey sesame chicken over noodles!

Not sure why the low reviews for this Panda. It's the Panda closest to my house but today was actually the first time I stopped in. I was looking for quick takeout and I was able to order ahead on the mobile app. If you sign up for the app they are giving you 25% off the order right now which was also nice and what is what enticed me to drop by. Orange chicken is always my favorite here and I used to get chicken with mushroom but last time at the Novi location it wasn't that great, so I tried Beijing beef instead. It was good but a bit too spicy for me so next time I might try another entree. I also got a chicken egg roll with it and they include a fortune cookie as well. Everything tasted nice and fresh and when I arrived I headed to the cash register and they gave me my meal pretty quickly. This location also has a drive-thru, which is convenient; I'm not sure why they don't let you pick up mobile orders in the drive-thru but that's fine.

I was so excited to finally have a Panda opening near work and I literally watched it get built. Even though the food in this area is plentiful, I love having options. My coworker and I came here for lunch to check it out since it's newly opened. We had a hard time seeing the entrance with all the snow, but we figured it out! Parking is ample and we were able to walk right in. The place is set up exactly like other Panda's, and we only had to stand in line for a few minutes with the other people grabbing lunch here as well. Thank goodness for a less then 5 minute line to get our food! They have all the same fancy dishes that other Panda's have, but I went with my usual orange chicken with fried rice, cream cheese rangoon and a drink. My coworker got Teriyaki chicken with fried rice and some veggies as well. Considering it's new, the place flowed very well. Most importantly we didn't have to wait long during our lunch hour, all the dishes were available and there was plenty of seating to be had. The only thing we did notice is that there were a few tables that had been cleared but not wiped down? We still found a clean place to sit, but I sense since it's lunch hour the staff was working behind the counter to serve the customers. Overall, I plan on coming back to this location as it's a good alternative to what else is on this corner. Good to have a Panda which I love so much!

Yeah, this place is disgusting. The orange chicken is gross. It's all gooey and not cooked right probably going to get sick. I already ordered the food before I seen the reviews so I wasn't surprised probably should get some new cooks.

A roomy dining area with tasty food to go along with it! I've been here a couple times to get the world famous orange chicken! I typically get a two entree plate (both with orange chicken) and fried rice. At this location, it seems to be a bit spicier than other locations but still just as tasty and the scoops they put into the the container are quite massive. I prefer Panda express over many different Chinese food places, but this location is 10/10 quality and I'll be back a lot to have their orange chicken!

I would give zero stars if I could. Gave this place a few tries and it was horrible every time. The orange chicken was in a huge lump and tasted horrible. It was dry and tastes undercooked. I will never be coming back.

This place makes me crazy. First off, I don't agree with the problems in all the other reviews. This should be a 5 star place. It is clean and the food is good. The problem is that they don't understand mobile orders. We order and pay in advance, but they don't make it until you come. Then, the stuff isn't ready, so you have to wait 15 minutes for them to make it. This happened to us four times now in the last two months. Each time was the same. Today, it happened and I nicely asked why isn't it ready, we ordered 40 minutes ago? The worker said the tickets don't come to them immediately and I had to wait for them to make chicken. Apparently, in the meantime they ran out of another entree on our order, but shipped it missing knowingly stickered closed. It is not like they were busy during any of the four visits. We started going to this one vs the location 5 miles north because it is not busy like the other. I know why!

Wow... what a shock from my first visit. I ordered Broccoli Beef as one of my entrees. I was told they are making a new batch of Brocolli Beef so I waited 5 minutes. And I got 4 small pieces of beef ("small" meaning each piece was half the size of a regular piece of orange chicken). Huge brocolli pieces filled rest of the entree. The ratio of brocolli to beef was about 7 to 1. Maybe it was a mistake of a part time employee, and I wouldn't blame if it was a mistake, so I called the restaurant and explained what I got. I asked, "is this normal?" "Yes, that's normal" was the response I got. Okay, then this is my Yelp review for you

This will be my last visit to this Panda Express. Been to this location about 10 times in the last six months. Food is consistently cold. You can always count on rude service at the drive-through window. Today I got caught in the drive-through line for 30 minutes. Because of the way the curb is set up you can't get out once you enter the line. Once I got to the window, there were at least eight cars behind me and I witnessed four or five employees including the manager standing around jaw jacking. I could see my bag of food sitting there on the counter but they waited two more minutes before they handed it out the window to me. Pathetic. Never again.

It's not fine dining by any means but I definitely appreciate its existence. Sometimes you just want a quick bowl of stir fry. I get mushroom chicken or green bean chicken usually. I ask for half and half noodles and rice. It's also nice it is a drive through during covid.

Update, after customer serviced reached out to me 2 years ago claiming to make up for the mistake, they never did. Never got anything In the mail like they promised, I think after 2 years of waiting I've lost all hope for Panda Express

This review is about the service/wait time . i do not have an issue with the food . I arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes after they opened . They were out of white rice . I was told it was a 15 minutes wait on it and i could get the fried rice instead , which was not what i wanted . Then i asked for sizzling shrimp . It was also a wait for that as well . I asked if i could get a complimentary drink while i wait 15 minutes for my inconvenience . Most restaurants a complimentary drink is about 8 ounces . The server asked the manager and she said he said no he could not give me a complimentary drink for my 15 minute wait . I was taken back that first of all it was no initial apologies for the wait and not even offered a cup of water while i waited . Finally after the rice and shrimp were ready i wanted super greens and was told now that was a wait . So , i had to wait for the white. the sizzling shrimp and after those were ready the super greens too . I do not have words for how ridiculous this is . The server did say that she was sorry for the wait at the end . I was the only person in the place . Smh ! I waited from 11:20 - 11:38 in total to receive the food that I traveled 10 miles to get .It is a location just a couple miles from me as well , that i now regret not going to . I would not be complaining about the wait if this was not considered to be a fast food establishment. A couple of minutes i could understand but 18 minutes, i do not . Do not bother coming here unless you have time to spare or are willing to change the order that you want , as they will suggest for you to pick something else instead . Panda Express ! Get it together !

Very slow service when you place your order online it should be ready on time but it's never ready on time

One time the new lady trashed my coupon as soon as I gave it to her. She was new and didn't speak English. I complained to a manager for her attitude. The next time I went I found a piece of hair wrapped around my food. I wanted a refund...they wanted me to come back for a replacement. Never will I return.

It's Panda Express. It's not in a mall. They have a drive through and for many months it was the ONLY Chinese food place open. So I'm going to give them an extra star for all that. They got all of our orders right, and the food is pretty good. I appreciate the ability to order through the app and the many specials they run, particularly the family meals.

I love Panda Express, but this location (off Big Beaver) is horrible. The one on Rochester Road is much better. I've never had any issues there. During my last visit, I waited in the drive-thru line for 25-30 minutes. I understand... every place is short-staffed right now. I get up to the window and pay and was then told I needed to pull my vehicle around and wait. I waited for AT LEAST 20 minutes. When I finally convinced myself they forgot about me, I parked my vehicle and headed inside (it was pouring rain). I get to the door and it's locked... tried the other door and it's locked as well (due to COVID). So I knocked on the doors and the windows for almost 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. The girl that took my order grabbed a bag off the counter and ran it to the door.... it was obvious that it had been sitting there the entire time. I asked her if she forgot about me - she said no. I asked her if it was still hot - she said yes. When I finally arrived home and sat down to eat, the food was luke warm (at best) and dry and mostly chow mein. I was soaking wet. Had wasted an hour of my life.... and was STILL hungry!

Worst experience. I went to Panda as I like the food. This new Panda just opened up few months ago. Today went and employee have so much difficulty remembering my order. I just went for 3 plates but there was so much confusion that when they gave me my order I ask again to see if it was correct. I arrive Home and surprise, surprise my order is missing entrees. I call for explanation and employee in the phone rude that nothing can be done. Don't go to this panda location, many others around. They are rude and don't know what they are doing.

I visited this Panda Express at Big Beaver and Rochester Rd in Troy MI on 2/13/2021. I ordered the Black Angus Steak bowl with half brown rice and half super greens. They gave me a bowl full of brown rice and super greens, no meat. Additionally, there was a huge bug in the food. Had to work a 12 hour shift with no food. I spoke to the district manager who arranged for me to pick up a $30.00 gift card. Doubt if I'll ever go back. Terrible.

Ordered via Grubhub and it was okay. They mixed up the shrimp entrée I ordered with the other shrimp entrée and one of the rangoons (pictured) had no filling.

I hate drive through windows. Theres nothing worse than getting home and opening up your bag of takeout and find out they forgot something. This is the second time this place have done it and I should have learn from now to check before I leave the place! I was in a hurry. I ordered the family meal and they forgot to put the sauce for the terriyaki chicken and also forgot to put the plates and utensils that I asked for. Not sure if Im coming back to this store.

Garbage service and slow you might wanna bring a book to read waiting for you rudely served food.

Very nice service and workers are patient! Food are delicious and fast. Don't know why some bad reviews is because they did not get a lot of free foods. I understand they Covid situations and people all make mistakes, anyways good job Panda Express. Keep going and I will be back again!

Slow service and super small portions compared to other Panda Express restaurants. There's a Panda Express about 7 mins away from this location that is probably worth the drive.

Wrong stuff like always. Never get the food correct thru the drive thru. Orange chicken is not shrimp.

Horrible customer service. The employees were rude, especially the manager Lulu. Gave us dirty looks from when we walked in door. They over charged me for my order, charged me for the incorrect food, and tried to give me the correct food with incorrect portions. When I informed the manager she was rude and started speaking to 2 other employees in another language. Also, instead of trying to correct the mistake, the manager tried to tell me why she had to charge me even more. employees don't make sense and have no clue had to simply take an order. DO NOT go to this Panda Express, they will definitely try to steal your money and waste your time.
