Pandan Leaf

First time being there & the owner was very sweet and helped me order based on what kind of taste I was in the mood for. Knowing what goes together best on your menu impressed me, and what I ended up ordering sure hit the spot! The atmosphere is very classy and I would come back again for another drink in a heartbeat. Small interior but nice to sit in and work :)

Randomly stumbled across this shop while in the area. The shop is uniquely decorated. The teddy bears at the corner table is hilarious. The fish tank looks high-tech. And the multiple Legos items are pretty dope. The clerk was very nice and welcoming. I tried the following: Popcorn chicken - 4/5 (served hot and had a nice flavor) Sour cream fries - 3/5 (the fries were thin and not crispy. It seemed like some sour cream potato chip seasoning was poured on the fries) Fresh fruit tea - 4.5/5 (the beverage on the right. The presentation was very visually appealing. It's not too sweet. Loved the variety of fruits. It was a mix of flavored teas and toppings) Unfortunately they don't use "real" milk in their milk teas except for Thai tea. They use a non-dairy powder like many places. They do use real fruit in some smoothies and some are flavored syrups if you care to know.

My favorite cafe ever. The owner is so sweet and funny, the place is so cute and aesthetic, and the food and coffee is just so good. my personal favorites are the house fried rice and hazelnut coffee. This place is a must when going to the vintage. Highly recommend.

The drinks are absolutely delicious. The flavors, the thickness, the boba...OH MY GOODNESS. My boyfriend and I will be back.

As someone married to a real Vietnamese, Viet Food here is too americanized and not authentic!!! I ordered Bun Thit Nuong and it has lettuce in it and no basil!!!!

What is a cute idea from the owner with the bears. Got my tea with perfect sweet level and fun conversation with her. Definitely will be back.

this place is so cute!! we both got the beef bbq banh mi, and it was so good. we loved it so much that we ordered the egg banh mi to go for later. my friend ordered the strawberry lemonade with boba and i got the winter melon tea with boba, and both were very tasty. highly recommend!! i'm excited to come back here when i'm in the area

This evening was my Second Visit to Pandan Leaf in two days. Unheard of for me! Our dinner tonight solidified what a hidden gem this place truly is to the Northside. So much so, I'd prefer to keep it to myself, but I'd be remise if I don't spread the love and good food. Fresh, Hot, and particularly spiced. A perfect takeout spot in my opinion. Show them some support! Nonetheless, it was odd that they gave me more peanut sauce the day before with one order and today I ordered two orders of the same and PL cut the sauce in half. Got to stay consistent Pandan Leaf...it builds trust with your customers and they'll feel comfortable about not checking the tightly sealed bag until they get home, so be consistent. My respect and recommendation stands! This eatery is a must!

Neat cafe to relax, study, or chat with friends. Occasionally, I'd visit to try new drinks and always get their spicy popcorn chicken. This time, I ordered a taro milk tea with boba. I enjoyed my drink, it has a rich nutty flavor and sweetness. The consistency of tapioca pearls were nice and chewy. Popcorn chicken, Taiwanese style I really love how they fry it. Fragrant from the basil leaves and spices, served with a sweet chili sauce. Always served piping hot, it's amazing! Kind staff and quick service!

I LOVE this little Shop to get my Banh Mi and my tea! It is so clean and well decorated!!!! Customer service is amazing and the sandwiches are delicious! Everytime I get my hair done at Alan Murphy Salon, I come here for a treat!!!

The interior ambiance is both relaxing and chill to sit down over a snack and delicious boba drinks! The taro milk tea was so delicious, the right amount if sweetness. Their fries and chicken are perfect, hot and crispy fresh(their portion sizes are wonderful)- I could not get enough of the food. The staff are friendly and provide perfect service. It was so fun to see built lego models decorated by the register- it made the space feel so personal for the business. 10/10

My partner and I always enjoy coming here. It seems like the menu has changed a little compared to their website, but most items have stayed the same. There's a lot of unique decor, including the moss wall, Legos, a fish tank, framed jerseys, and more. The service is very kind and casual. We ordered the pineapple fusion tea and lychee fusion tea, which was very refreshing.

Horrible service! As I was waiting for my drinks to be made the owner approached me and was questioning if I was going to spend more money on any other product?! Excuse me?! On top of it all the drinks are chalky and boba is hard! Honestly even basic Sharetea is 10 x better. DO NOT spend your hard earned money here! Go support the nice people on bellaire instead!

I love this cute place. Food is perfect size and the right price. I also like the fact that it's not very crowded and noisy. Love the fish tanks!

Delicious food and refreshing tea. Cozy little place with friendly service. We had a Vietnamese pork "sandwich" and kimchi fries. Highly recommend.

Hadn't been here in years, but nothing has really changed. They still make bomb dessert drinks. I always ordered the Tropix and it still tastes amazing! I also used to get banh mi and boba drinks here, and they were always consistent in taste. Not sure if it's the same owners, but they were always friendly when my husband would pick up food. The Pandan Special is another good choice if you're ordering a dessert drink. This is one of the places I miss about living in Spring. Definitely need to come more whenever I'm in the area and highly recommend giving it

Came here in the evening and was greeted by a sincere girl at the cash register. This was our first time here and the girl helped us choose on what dessert drink to order. I had the paradise drink which is the only drink that is coconut water instead of coconut milk. I asked if I could substitute it for coconut milk instead and she insisted not to. I'm glad she did because it was the perfect dessert. My daughter ordered the tropix drink and the pandan waffle. We really enjoyed everything here. Now I'm curious what else on the menu is good.

The place here is such a sight to see. The decorations are great from the calming fish tanks to the wonderfully places Lego creations on shelves. I've read on here that the manager or owner was rude to them. I'm not sure if I talked to the manager when I was there but I'm sure I did and he was a very straight forward man, but not rude to me. He politely answered all my questions. Now to the best part, the food! I ordered the BBQ Pork Banh mi along with a strawberry tea with mango popping boba. The tea that I drank wasn't picture because it was so good that I drank it almost all before I knew it. The Banh mi was just as good! From the fresh crunchy toasted French bread to the delicious meat and vegetables in it! Will definitely be coming back again.

Stopped in after my run to GNC. I was craving some brown sugar milk tea (A craving I've been having so I'm trying different ones). One thing I like about coming here is the service. It's fast. Someone up front taking the order and the back brining it out quick and perfectly. I only wanted about half of a regular order of boba and it was made exactly how I wanted. The only communication between front and back looks to be the computer, and they always get it right. It's a cute little place to get your teas etc and a bite to eat.

The Vintage has lots of interesting restaurants and Pandan Leaf addresses that Vietnamese cuisine. Lots of parking, so easy to get to. The place is small but filled with large model cars, someone is clearly an automobile aficionado. The decor while different is well done and interesting. The place was at capacity when I walked in with maybe six tables in the house. The food was delivered in reusable takeout dishes so if you didn't finish you had your container for leftovers. I had the pork vermicelli, it was smaller than I'm used to at that price point but beautifully presented. The slushy boba drink that accompanied it was bursting with flavor and lasted a long time. This is a nice find on the northwest side and while I didn't indulge, they had a full range of desserts including a colorful array of macaroons!

So far so good . I was otp with a friend and they were getting boba and I wasp Ike hmmm omg I want some too so I found this place on yelp and decided to stop in and omg it's so cute and adorable I like it a lot I didn't really realize the north part of Houston had boba shops so I'm pretty happy I found this place it's very very cute . I really like the customer service the guy at the front register was really nice and personable. I also got the shrimp spring rolls and the beef spring rolls and the popcorn chicken . Yalll omg the chicken is so good ! It dosent even need the sauce it comes with tbh it can be eaten on its own and that's how you know the chicken slaps okay. & then the little pieces of fried basil im like omg y'all just knew I was coming huh & y'all knew I would like it like thissss . I'm glad I found this place heaven sent for sure the universe definitely pulled me here today ! Thank you guys ! I'll be back .

I don't think I have ever met a more narcissistic and condescending individual in my life than the guy that works at the counter and claims to be the owner of this establishment. Not the first time he's been called rude in these reviews either so this guy was obviously not just having a bad day. Save your time and money. The drinks aren't even that great.

Came here for a quick lunch and was happily surprised! I've been here before for boba and was not impressed but the food smelled amazing. I was in the area looking for some lunch and decided to give the place a second try. I had a chicken Bahn mi and a mango tea. Overall I was very delighted with the experience. Good food and the tea was so much better compared to the last time. Service was friendly but it looked like it was one gentlemen taking orders and preparing food so it did take a little longer than most tea places.

Yay so happy to have stumbled upon this little gem! I got a taro smoothie which is really good!!! Very creamy and taro-y and not watered down like some establishments. I also got a pandan waffle (not pictured bc I crushed it!) It was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside! They have a decent menu, I should've taken an updated picture for y'all. 10/10 on the two items I've tried so far. I'll be back!

Although the mask mandate has been lifted the staff is still wearing masks which is comforting because they're making food. I come here quite often before work or with friends and I usually get the smoothies which are amazing. I've been wanting to try the soursop smoothie for a while but every time I come in they're out of it--I think it's seasonal though so I don't mind. The staff is also very kind, Pandan Leaf is definitely one of my favorite spots in the area. Edit: Not sure what milk options there are but I would definitely recommend adding oat milk if it's not already an option!!

Awesome banh mi. Wife had the beef and I had the grilled chicken. Both tasted like they were grilled fresh and not precooked and reheated. the tamarind mango wings are really good as well; the sauce have fresh mango mini cubes. We tried the Pandan special desert (che ba Mau), 4 season strawberry mango tea. This option is $0.85 more that the fusion tea option but has fresh fruits $5.75 vs $4.95. Fresh fruits for me all day long. These prices are actually a bargain compared to most if not all places nowadays; even in Bellaire Chinatown

I ordered their special pandan wings, Hawaiian slim rolls, passion jack fruit tea, and my husband had their banh mi and Vietnamese coffee! Very good and delicious! Their wings were super tasty and crispy, slim roll was perfect if you're looking for something light and healthy and tasty, and my husband loved the banh mi! He always judges banh mis by how they make their bread and it was perfect. Fluffy yet crunchy on the outside! Their drinks were pretty good as well. The passion fruit was VERY refreshing especially for summer times. My husband loves their Viet coffee, he downed it before the food even came out lol So definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a quick bite with a refreshing drink!

The drinks are pretty good. The Vietnamese coffee is great, but sometimes a little too sweet. We've tried a few teas but same thing, they can be made too sweet depending on whoever makes them I guess. This place used to be our go-to when we wanted something to sip as we walked around the vintage, but we stopped coming because (I kid you not) it smells like cool ranch Doritos inside and it was really off putting.

The guy at the register was extremely rude, disrespectful and condescending. He seemed bothered when we walked thru the door and extended to our group leaving the shop. At this point, it doesn't matter if the drink was any good or not. The treatment was not worth the purchase.

Incredibly rude and argued with customers about a drink order. Then argued with customers about the posted review about his extremely rude behavior. Do not recommend based solely on his behavior, attitude, and poor customer service.

Service was awful. I ordered a "brown sugar milk" which is UNDER "milk tea" but instead it was just plain milk. After receiving the item, I asked to clarify and the guy who was at the counter was extremely rude and was arguing with me that it should have been obvious. I asked for another drink, since I had not drank any of the drunk, and I still had to pay for it. Learn better customer service or at least don't be an a-hole.

This place is so cool from the lego decor to the variety of drink options and small bites. I ordered a jasmine tea with tapioca, it was delicious. Also ordered macaroons which were decently priced and also delicious. Enjoyed talking with the owner, very friendly. I dont live in the area, I live pretty far but will make it a point to come out here again soon with friends and family.

Owner has a really bad attitude! I won't be going back. Ever! Needs a class on treating his customers. Not good if he wants to continue to have a business.

Two of my kids got food poisoning from eating here last night. We ordered the popcorn chicken, vermicelli with pork, and egg rolls. They also shared a watermelon slushie. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

TLDR; The manager of this place is outright mean, inconsiderate, and verbally assaults his customers. I had a few questions about my drink and he proceeded to say I should go to the Starbucks across the street, yelled at me that my review wouldn't change anything, and screamed in the parking lot at my friends and I after we left the shop. I'm not one to ever post a review but the verbal assault I experienced by the MANAGER at this seemingly highly rated Tea house is one worth sharing. My friends and I decided to catch up over the break at Pandan Leaf as the reviews looked good and the menu was extensive. I ordered a matcha milk tea and my friend ordered a jasmine milk tea. When I got my drink, I noticed it tasted heavily of Jasmine and very grainy from the Matcha powder (picture attached). My friend who ordered the Jasmine milk tea tried my drink and said my drink tasted more like Jasmine than hers. I suspected maybe he used the same shaker cup for both our drinks. My friend kindly offered to ask the manager if he could remake it for me. He replied, Matcha milk tea is made with Jasmine tea and said no. I wanted to ask one last time about my drink before I left as the separation was too much and the Jasmine taste was extremely overwhelming. I asked, "Is this normal?" Annoyed, he said, "Let me ask you this, what do you think Matcha is?" To which I replied, "Matcha is a type of powder made from finely grounded green tea leaves. So to me, a matcha milk tea is matcha powder, milk (oat, soy, 2%, etc.), and ice." (I looked this up online and I was correct in my definition btw). He rudely said "I can't give you just powder and ice. The tea aspect of the drink is Jasmine tea. If you want what you said, you can go to the Starbucks across the street." I was shocked. I said, "Ok, I feel like that should be stated on the menu but thanks for answering my question." I proceeded to ask if I could take a picture of the menu to show that it doesn't mention Milk teas are made with Jasmine tea. While I took the picture, the manager repeatedly said, "one problem isn't going to fix anything." As we were heading to the door, he progressed to actually screaming at me, "one problem isn't going to fix anything". I'm not too sure what he meant by that but just the screaming itself was unprofessional and frankly, very scary. Maybe he thought it was okay to scream at us since no one else was in the restaurant. We silently left the shop. However, when we were standing near our cars saying our goodbyes, the manager parked his truck right next to us and continued to say "I look forward to your one star review. Don't worry I will respond to it" and continued to keep saying "Please post your one star review." and "I can't wait to read your one star review." My friends and I, as 3 young women in a fairly empty parking lot, felt extremely unsafe. Almost to the point we thought we were going to get hate crimed. Because of this, we had to cut our meeting early due to the repeated remarks and harassment we endured from the manager. They seem to be a well performing business as they had regulars come in while I was in the shop. Both my friends even liked their drinks a lot. I unfortunately had a couple questions that he could not answer with professionalism or human decency. If you're not a regular at Pandan Leaf, be prepared to be harassed and yelled at. It seems like other reviewers had the same experience and he responded with the same crassness to them as well. Would give zero stars if I could.

Awesome service. The staff is super nice and they have great teas and food. This was my first time visiting and it won't my last. I recommend the beef spring rolls and the pineapple fusion tea. The beef in the spring rolls was slightly grilled and had an amazing flavor. The fusion pineapple tea with strawberry jelly was almost like a dessert.

I come here whenever I'm nearby. The chicken banh mi is my go to. The drinks are pretty good too. The kimchi fries were good but definitely need to share if you order a bunch of sides.

It's okay. Seems like owners care a lot, but given the name, way too few pandan items. Very surprising there isn't a pandan smoothie or pandan coconut bubble tea. What is pandan isn't really fresh or all that good. Other items were fine, but if you're going to name yourself after an ingredient, I would really encourage them to source fresh pandan and actually make way more items. Otherwise, I don't think there's anything unique enough here to go for.

Wonderful place to be! A perfect place to have a positive vibe. The drinks and snacks were off the hook!! It's under new Management, he was great. Husband and wife business and we think they are doing great .

The service was horrible. The guy was upset and impatient with the customers before us, and when we were next in line, was texting and being rude about us just asking what was in one of the drinks. Only a total of 2 groups in the entire place, so we didn't understand why he was so upset but didn't say anything because maybe he was just having an off day. But he started yelling at us to grab our order and at others, such a bizarre experience.

Quick service! Amazing drinks! My siblings and I got the Mango Fusion Tea, Raspberry Fusion Tea, and Green Thai Milk Tea. They were all amazing. We didn't change the sweetness or the ice level, and the sweetness of the fusion drinks were on point. They're not overly sweet like other drinks at 100% sweetness level. The Thai Green Milk Tea is probably the best one I've ever tried. I highly recommend this place!

I was craving Asian food for a quick lunch, so found this place near to my work. I asked for no cilantro, but got cilantro - oh well, easy fix. I asked for 25% sweet on my drink & paid to add crystal boba, but did not get either. Unfortunately I have patients scheduled so I can't go back to get my order fixed. There's enough competition nearby so that I won't be coming back.

HAWAIIAN BEEF SLIM ROLL- grilled beef pineapple, lettuce, cilantro, carrots, daikon, and cucumber It came in 2 rolls, I only ate 1. Flavor was nothing spectacular, the peanut sauce didn't add much flavor to the overall dish either. BANG TRANG TRON- rice paper, boiled egg, dried shrimp, roasted peanuts, dried onions served with fish sauce This dish wasn't too bad. It was flavorful especially when eaten fresh. It's definitely more of a snack kind of dish more than an actual meal. I like all the different ingredients, all simple, but when eaten together it definitely elevates the dish, various textures and different notes of flavor. STRAWBERRY MANGO- strawberry, mango, grass jellies, strawberry juice, and jasmine tea It's been awhile since I last had this drink and it wasn't as good as I remembered. It was overly sweet even after they added extra ice. Flavors were nothing spectacular. I've had better fresh fruit drinks. COCONUT PEACH- peach, coconut, basil seeds, coconut juice, and jasmine tea There was nothing spectacular about this drink either. The flavor was just too light for me. I could taste a light tea flavor, but I didn't like it with the combo of the coconut juice. Funny how something you like before ends up being something you don't like anymore. That's the good thing about going out to eat and trying new things. You don't really know what is good until you try more things. No longer my go to place, but at least it's still here.

Sandwich and wings was my go to and I don't regret it. I had the bbq chicken sandwich with the strawberry smoothie

The PERFECT Guava tea ! And Kiwi Berry is also delicious the way they make it. Completely LOVE this place. Great size for the price too.

Great little Vietnamese place, great authentic food and great prices. Even though the prices are amazing the amount of food is plentiful! You can't deny that this is going to be a family favorite if Vietnamese food is a favorite of yours

This place has TERRIBLE customer service. I'm never one to complain but we ordered a drink which tasted NOTHING like it was supposed to. We very politely asked if it could be remade or changed to something else. The man was very rude and unwilling to do anything. He even made jokes about us. Then we left the store and he continued to make rude comments while we were standing outside. Terrible customer service. Will never be coming back and I suggest you don't either

Love this place, new owners, very friendly and accommodating. Excellent food and beverages. Owners are very conscientious and trying new menu items. Everything I have tried has been marvelous! Highly recommended!

I usually don't post reviews but the cashier, short asian guy, does not know how to treat customers. Was very rude from the get-go and we were not rude in any matter. We add a few questions about the drink being made incorrectly, and he outright started talking to us with so much attitude. He seemed racist and does not accommodate with what the customer is saying (THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT).

The food is tasty but the drink especially smoothly is a little too sweet. The owner is nice and friendly but the speed of service would need some improvement. Waiting for food sometimes takes longer than it should.

cute little place! super friendly service, and quite a few options. I tried the coconut peach which I felt was a bit bitter but overall tasted good. I didn't add any sugar to the drink, so might have to do that next time. each drink was around $6 will have to come back and try the food!

The first time here the food was very good but coming back a few times since the meat they use in the beef sandwiches was stale, dry , and tough so I had to pull all the meat out the sandwiches, other than that everything else was very good.
