Pane e Vino Italian Restaurant Closes After 30 Years in Cow Hollow | Eater SF

"After three decades as a Cow Hollow neighborhood standby, the restaurant announced its last day of service was August 26 and thanked customers and the community for 30 years of support and the memories created together. Much of the restaurant’s longevity is credited to chef-owner Bruno Quercini, who came from Bianzone, Italy, learned to cook at his mother’s elbow, emigrated to the U.S. in 1969, worked for a catering company in Florida and a restaurant in Marin County, and became executive chef of Pane e Vino Trattoria in 1991. Food critic Michael Bauer praised Quercini’s “earthy food” and his exceptionally garlicky fusilli with eggplant and smoked mozzarella, a dish that developed a devoted following. The restaurant closed along with many others in March 2020, and in April 2020 Quercini launched a GoFundMe to help employees that raised more than $22,000." - Lauren Saria

If you’re looking to step away from the city buzz, this is the perfect spot. Located right by the sea, it offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service is attentive and truly makes you feel taken care of as a guest. The food is simply superb – the pasta vongole tasted just like being back home in Naples.

I visited this cafe to pick up a pizza for takeaway. It was a very hot day, so while waiting, we sat at one of the indoor tables and took a couple of glasses that were already placed there—not from any self-service area. A staff member then came over and told us we weren’t allowed to use the glasses because our order was for takeaway. I found this response unnecessarily unfriendly. We were simply trying to stay comfortable while waiting, and using the glasses already set on the table didn’t seem unreasonable. Even if there’s a policy, it could have been explained with a bit more courtesy and common sense. Unfortunately, the experience left a bad taste—and not just because of the service. The pizza itself was just average, nothing particularly memorable. Overall, it wasn’t the warm or welcoming atmosphere I was hoping for, and I’m not sure I’d return.

Great service. The pizzas were delicious, tagliata was good, the spaghetti alla vongole can also be recommended. The waiter invited us for a jar of delicious limoncello. We will be back! Grazie mille!

19:59. I asked for the toilet. Looked good. Old money style. Waiter said toilet is ONLY FOR CUSTOMERS. It was disguisting. Public toilet nearby is closed. Very bad.

Lee was an amazing waiter, spoke perfect English and was a very funny man. Food was pretty solid too and plus the bill was reasonable.

Fabulous! Had a takeaway for a birthday on the nearby beach and it was delicious, so we went again and ate in! Can’t fault it at all, lovely food, service very attentive and friendly! Would highly recommend! Thank you Lee for making us feel so welcome and for giving us the tastiest pizza ever! We’ll be back again soon!

Yelp
The Italian vibes in Antibes. I like the view from this restaurant. So many options to choose from. I would suggest order some pizzas if you don't know what you want to get.
