Atmosphere: Quaint little restaurant inside a strip mall. Dark tones and romantically lit but still plenty of light over your table to see. Long bar on one side flanked by the entire kitchen which is open to view the entire process, but with a giant vent hood so nothing escapes into the dining area. 1 Star
Service: WOW! Our waiter was phenomenal. He never hurried us but his timing was impeccable. Knew when we were ready for refills. Didn't even attempt to take our order until after our appetizers were almost done. Just very on top of the whole experience. Gave us well detailed descriptions of the specials for the night. Could he just follow us to all the places we eat please? The manager brought us out our desserts and even popped a couple of jokes. 2 Stars easy.
Food: We had to try a little of everything, so we had 3 appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts. They brought us a fluffy and tasty trio of focaccia to dip in a lovely olive oil and balsamic sauce. Bread was spongy and delicate and soaked up the sauce well. We opted for Lobster Bisque, Crab Cakes, and the Buffalo Mozzarella and Tomato Caprese. The Lobster Bisque was decent but not quite as rich as I would have preferred. The Crab Cakes were nice and perfectly crispy on the outside with a smooth, yet chunky interior. They were not overpowered by the sauce which can often be the case. The highlight however was the Caprese. Not only was the presentation over-the-top gorgeous but it was one of the best Caprese's I have ever eaten. 1/2" thick slices of very firm tomatoes sandwiched between fresh buffalo mozzarella slices and topped with a crisp and fruity olive oil and a balsamic vinegar that simply complimented the EVOO rather than masked it. Absolutely wonderful. I would come here and eat that alone. Our two entrees both included lobster. The wife took the Ravioli Pescatore and I had the Fra Diavolo Fettuccine. She had 3 large ravioli stuff with a minced lobster filling and each was topped by a mountain of (one of each) sea scallops, shrimp, and crab. She ate the whole thing. I tasted the ravioli itself and was amazed. As for my dish, it had just enough kick to it to know that there were some fresh peppers in there, but not enough that my wife couldn't have a bite. Loaded with jumbo shrimp, HUGE portions of lobster and, I counted, 3 sea scallops, along with some hot peppers, bell peppers, and a robust tomato based sauce. The fettuccine was perfectly cooked and accompanied the sauce well. Our waiter warned us as he handed us our entrees, that we needed to save room for the desserts because they "are wonderful." Quite the salesman. So we did and we were not disappointed. We shared an order of Cannolis and a slice of Limoncello Cake. The cannoli shells were crispy and flaky and the ricotta stuffing was delicious without being overly sweet. The Limoncello Cake was moist and spongy which helped to soak up the wonderfully citrusy glaze spread on the plate. Almost 2 Stars
Overall: A new favorite when we visit Addison. Other than the Lobster Bisque being just short of perfect, everything else was stunning. We will be back for more.
