Fast-Food Breakfast Sales Continue to Suffer Throughout Pandemic | Eater

"According to its CEO, there’s been little recovery in the breakfast daypart; instead, coffee consumption is starting later in the morning than before and stretching further into the day, reflecting the decline in pre-commute breakfast and coffee purchases." - Jenny G. Zhang

They didn’t even bother making the sandwich how I asked for it to be made they just made it how they wanted to. Nothing but the meat and cheese were correct. No spoon for my soup. The location in Jersey Village is amazing! This is my first and last time eating at this location.

Upon entering Panera Bread and placing my order, I was greeted with a somewhat polite acknowledgment and experienced an efficient ordering process. I appreciated being able to track my order on the screen; however, I quickly realized the system was inaccurate. When I approached the counter to retrieve my food, I was met with a blank stare and no order in sight. Once my name was finally called, I went to pick up my food—there was no smile, no greeting, and no apology for the confusion. To make matters worse, my bagged order was carelessly tossed to me by the team member at the pickup counter. Given the lack of basic courtesy and professionalism, I will not be returning to this location.

Good Food but Room for Improvement I recently visited Panera Bread and had a mixed dining experience that highlighted both strengths and areas needing improvement. We ordered the corn chowder soup, a Chipotle Chicken sandwich, a Chicken Caesar Salad, and a Toasted Frontega Chicken sandwich. Food Quality and Portions: The corn chowder soup was a standout, thick and slightly spicy, perfectly accompanied by bread, making it a satisfying appetizer or a meal in itself. The Chicken Caesar Salad was generous in size, served with three containers of dressing. While the salad was fresh, it was pretty standard with no unique twists. The sandwiches, both the Chipotle Chicken and the Toasted Frontega Chicken, were delicious and well-prepared. They were served cut in halves, which was convenient and they definitely lived up to their price in terms of flavor and filling. Service and Wait Time: The service was a bit slow, taking almost 30 minutes for our order to be ready, which seemed longer than necessary for a fast-casual restaurant. Ordering Process: The restaurant uses automated kiosks for placing orders, which are efficient, but the cashier also had to work in the back at times, leaving the front less attended. Once you place your order at the kiosk, you can choose to use a pager (if available) or simply provide your name. You don’t need to pick up your food from the counter as waiters will bring your order directly to your table. For to-go orders, there are designated shelves by the kitchen counter where you can find your order labeled with your name, making pickup quick and easy. This setup might confuse some customers but adds a touch of convenience. Cleanliness and Ambiance: A recurring issue was the cleanliness of the dining area. The tables were sticky and seemed like they hadn't been cleaned properly for a while. This is something I've noticed in other branches as well. There was a consistent, confusing mix of food smells that pervaded the dining area, which I found slightly off-putting. Location Benefits: The location benefits from ample and free parking, making access easy and convenient. Overall: Panera Bread offers tasty and high-quality meals that are worth the price, but the dining experience could be enhanced significantly with improvements in service speed, cleanliness, and overall management of the dining area. It's clear that the shift towards automation in order taking is a sign of modernization, but the physical aspects of the restaurant should not be neglected.

I've been frequently dropping by Panera Bread recently and it's been a consistently good experience. The store is clean and well-arranged, making for a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful, adding to the overall positive feel of the place. The food is consistently fresh and tasty. One of my favorite items to order is the toasted steak and cheese sandwich. The bread is nicely toasted, the steak is flavorful, and the cheese is just right - altogether, a satisfying bite. A good stop for a quick and enjoyable meal.

Google
So I frequent this location a lot and I tried the charged Strawberry Lemon Mint lemonade today and it's OFF THE CHAIN! Best location in towns at least in this Midtown/Downtown area! They also have a dog-friendly patio as well.

Google
The staff is great and pretty laid back! My food is hot and fresh, the line cooks are very courteous and professional and the cashier Guy is very helpful and suggestive. Thank you Panera for making my dining experience awesome. 💚

Google
I just picked up my mobile order, a customer was standing where an employee usually stands to greet customers to grab their mobile orders. He was aggressively rude and cussed at me in front of numerous employees. This man should have been escorted off of the property instead of being able to stand right at the mobile order counter breathing on all of the orders coming out. I felt violated and the employees should have done something. It is absolutely unacceptable. I will no longer give my business to this location after this happening. I don’t feel safe to come here

Google
This is the worst Panera I've ever seen. They got my order wrong, changed it and what is even this!! A salad in a bread?? I couldn't even give feedback to the store. Guess no more Panera for me

Kim C.

Yelp
At Panera, I'm used to having to place my order, pick up my food, bus my table, and still be asked for a tip. For some reason, that seems to be acceptable. My annoyance with yesterday's visit is that when I picked up the food at the window, I asked for the bagel I ordered. I was told that I had to take the receipt and go back to the front to get my bagel., So I had to put my food on my table, walk back to the front, and wait in line to get my bagel, Why couldn't the staff take care of that so that I would have the bagel when I picked up the order? Come on Panera. You can do better. Really, this is not customer service.
google avatar

Angiee L.

Yelp
I'm confused where are the employees that work here besides the cooks...? There is no actual physical service from an employee here besides your meal being made and you having to get up and get your own food from the window. There is no one working the front at all and you have to order yourself through the iPad and it can be a hassle if you want to do food modifications etc. Not knocking the other positive review about getting help being disable as someone should be helped but every customer should be getting serviced disabled or not. Corporate should definitely secret shop this location & have new management in place to revamp it to Paneras normal customer service standards because this is ran more like a food truck except you actual have someone to take your order at least working in a food truck. The food does taste pretty standard compared to other Panera locations no issues there with the food.

Yelp
I've been to three different Panera Bread restaurants in the past week. I was beginning to fall in love with then again after a long retreat. However, after this visit in this location, I'm wanting a divorce. The employees don't smile and seem miserable. It's too warm and muggy, like the air conditioner isn't working correctly. The tap water was nasty and un-drinkable. The food didn't taste restaurant quality. It didn't feel at all like the other locations I've been to. If this had been my first impression, it would be my last.

Yelp
This place is walking distance from the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center. So it is one of my choice for lunch of I was at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center all day. You can order at the counter or from the computer. I usually order from the computer and they will call your name or number for you to pick up the food. But they know me and they know I am disable, one of the staff always help me and bring the food to my table for me. The price for the amount of food and the quality is still worth it here. It's very clean here and plenty of seats. The service here is great and the free WiFi.

Yelp
Ordered through door dash so I can't review the atmosphere or staff. I ordered a 1/2 chicken salad sandwich and cup of cheese broccoli soup. The chicken salad sandwich was fresh with greens walnuts and cranberries. The cheese broccoli soup was comforting and delish. Overall the meal was delish. Would definitely recommend this place. I've also ordered the pizza before which is also delish and I'm picky with my pizza. Meal also came with a piece of French bread which was a bit hard but good with a lil heat and butter.

Yelp
This sandwich was delicious. It was better than the one in Sugarland. I'll be back over here to get it. Ten stars

Yelp
Been coming here for years on the regular. I ordered rapid pick up, to be ready as 7:10. I get there, it's not ready at 7:10, I have work at 7:30. After a few minutes I asked how much longer, they told me the oven wasn't working and it'll heat up in 5 minutes. Ok so 7:15, can still make it work. Look up and it's 7:17, still not ready. Oven wasn't even working, realizing it will be 15 minutes late by the time it's ready. The manager didn't offer ANYTHING to make it right. When there's a situation like that, you give a comp coffee or a cheap bakery item. Had to get a refund and speed to Starbucks. My issues are: You didn't call to tell me the oven wasn't working so I could go somewhere else You didn't offer anything to make it right Will be taking my money elsewhere from now on.

Yelp
Not sure why the reviews are so low on this one. I ordered delivery from here just today and it was pretty darn good. Their bagels aren't too bad at all. Nothing like what I get in NYC but I'll take it. Prices are good, service is quick and efficient. Def will order again soon.

Yelp
Louetta near I 45. Good toasted Italiano and strawberry salad. Chicken in salads has little taste

Yelp
Visited: 6/21/24 | Spent: $12.43 - On a lazy midday gym workout attempt, I was glad to have still had money on an old gift card. I ordered a YouPick2 ( 1/2 chicken bacon ranch and 1 cup broccoli cheddar soup) that was nostalgically delicious based on my high school part-time job behind the line almost 13 years ago. I don't think Panera will ever beat the "bougie hospital food" allegations, yet, I remain a fan! Nice portions, attentive expo service, but drink area could use some thorough cleaning, especially during this Houston heat.

Jingyan Y.

Yelp
Pros: Very clean inside, bathrooms are clean and ingredients for salads were fresh here. Super nice employees and the ambiance is nice inside. Easy to find parking in the lot! Coffee was fresh and hot. Cons: Wifi is slow to non-existent at less than 1 Mbps. I'm not sure if they were just having wifi troubles today when I visited in June 2022, but I had to get off wifi and use my phone data to even open Yelp. Hope this is something they fix soon!

Yelp
Welp, I won't be picking up food at this location anymore. As I was eating my Greek salad, I see an unwanted guest (see the attached photos). A damn ladybug. I couldn't tell if it was dead or playing dead, but nonetheless my appetite was conveniently destroyed and I wanted to puke. I wonder if there were anymore ladybugs in my salad as I was chomping the lettuce. It's the worst feeling worrying if I accidentally ate insects while eating my food. And this location has unsatisfactory customer service. I've never been greeted upon entry. The ambiance sucks. The same guy I see upfront at the register I've seen previous times I've been there and he looks like he doesn't want to be there. I had to say hello first to get serviced. I'm so mad I could've possibly swallowed a ladybug.

Yelp
First time at this location and it will more than likely be the last. Ordered tomato soup and grilled cheese. Order was not ready timely as promised. Grilled cheese was thrown together. Melted cheese on soft bread. Tomato soup was yummy tho.

Jocelyn M.

Yelp
I love Panera but my goodness...the attitude on the black girl with glasses working on my food was atrocious! The screen had said my order was ready so I went up to the counter to look at my ticket to see if it was indeed ready, and she snapped at me when she could have simply stated that my order was still being worked on without hissing at me. I had kindly apologized but her hostility has unfortunately made me want to never return to the Gray Street location. I hope she has the day she deserves
google avatar

Derrick D.

Yelp
Ok I'm here today I ordered food twice both times overcharged. Also the last time here my window was busted and items were stolen from my car. I asked the woman working here if they were still having that problem. She replied yes and it occurred last week. Yet no cameras or security has been added. I had over $700 worth of stuff taken . Not sure who the property management co is but they suck

Yelp
Good food & correct Togo order. Friendly service, clean inside. We had a large order for our office. We will be back.

Yelp
Not to be confused with the Manera, which was the time when men dominated the world, which has given way to hopefully a more female dominant society (sounds awesome). This is a great Panera Bread if you're in the rich neighbourhood, such as Montrose or River Oaks, and need somewhere to hang out and sit down for a while. You have other options too, but this one doesn't necessarily make you buy anything and has tap water and stuff. The food is absolutely awful but some of their drinks are okay depending on who's making them. I probably would give them a 2-star rating for being such a hit or miss corporation, but considering they're friendly and offer Wi-Fi, I bumped it up to a three.

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Food is good, but the customer service on some of the workers weren't the best. Their attitude felt as they were bothered of me coming through the door and ordering breakfast.
google avatar

Denisse C.

Yelp
This Panera ALWAYS gets something wrong in my order. And they hang up in my face. And don't pick up after(assuming they have caller iD) I'm so over this I just want to enjoy Panera on my lunch break and this is the closest one. Will they ever get an order right? Probably not. But this was it for me. Bye panera

Yelp
The reviews should speak for themselves. This location "SUCKS". The manager only wants to say how great she is and how she has an amazing team but they couldn't make 1 sandwhich correctly. They run out of everything early on and they cut corners with your orders. They clear the ticket saying it is complete when it isn't to make their ticket time look better. Do better people! Stay away from this location.

Yelp
Great food. Friendly service. I like the value duet. Place was clean and the staff was helpful.

Yelp
I am so disappointed in the level of service I receive when going to this location. I have gotten cold (refrigerator cold) food from here. I have gotten bad service. And not too long ago, I joined the sips club, and I went in to get my tea and seen a nightmare. The drink area was filthy, gnats flying around and there was one drink station that was broken. but instead of removing it or at least cleaning it out, they left what ever was last in it to look like a spoiled milky bubbly mess. I complained to a manager and he said he did not see a problem. So from then on I realized I'd never patron that location again.

Jenny H.

Yelp
This store has many employees, but they can not have orders ready. I waited more than 15 minutes and the screen says my order is ready, but when asked they responded "working on it" This location is Louetta and Champion Forest.
google avatar

Corky P.

Yelp
Friendly service and fresh ingredients. The coffee is tasty too. This location has a drive-thru. In my opinion worth the trip
google avatar

Julissa M.

Yelp
I read the negative reviews and still went. I paid 8$ for a tiny quarter of a sandwich that when I flipped over, the chunk of bread was missing. Mayo was all over the sandwich. I ordered a dirty chai (chai + shot of espresso), they didn't put espresso. Staff was polite, I'm more upset at the lack of priority in training. Customer next to me asked for hot coffee to be warmed

Yelp
So my mom and I came to have lunch here after shopping at the Marshall's and TJ Maxx across the street. When we arrived, we went to the kiosk and ordered as we prefer this route. Our food was brought out in a good time. The restaurant was very clean as well which is important to us with my CVID. The reason for the star being docked a star was that they left out our dessert and when I went to ask about it, they told me I was supposed to come ask for it at the bakery but no where was I notified about having to go up there to get it...not when they delivered the food or at the kiosk when I ordered the food. I feel like that should be clarified a little better. Other than that we had a great experience.

Kim Y.

Yelp
sorry to say the food quality would be great if it was fresh. I was served a salad with brown lettuce and when I reported it then brought me a cookie rather than replacing my purchase. very unsatisfied

Rena D.

Yelp
Today is the last time that I will order from this store. Consistency is not this store's forte. You are really taking a chance by ordering a to-go order with this Panera location. I was very specific about what to leave off and include on my sandwich (#961759100) and once again, a sandwich with soggy bread from too much "garlic aioli" or "mayonnaise," neither of which I requested. After several months of not eating at this restaurant, I wanted to try again, and was disappointed once more. Lost a customer.
google avatar

Lola L.

Yelp
Went for the first time for breakfast. I got the egg, chicken, avocado on grilled bagel wrap and my husband ordered the bacon, mozzarella cheese, egg, on a brioche bread. Both were very tasty and delicious and tasted very light. I was disappointed that their whole loaf choices did not include Challa bread.
google avatar

Fumi B.

Yelp
I usually order to go here but today I dined in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how great the customer service was from the guy who took my order, to the guy who brought my food, and the guy who helped pick up my trash. The staff was professional, polite, friendly, and prompt. They bring your food to the table here like Panera used to do back in the day. Salad :The "pick 2" is a goos option. my favorite salads are the Strawberry poppyseed & the Fuji Apple. Not a fan of their chicken so I go without it. The broccoli Cheddar in a bread bowl is a a solid go-to. The frontega chicken panini is a good option when you get half a salad in the "pick 2" combo. I don't like when it gets sloppy/sauce dripping etc. Depends on who makes the panini that day so I don't order it often. I like the spacious seating. Great place for a work lunch as they have plenty of outlets and places to sit + the music is not too loud. However the wifi is a bit slow. Not a fan of the parking layout & spacing but you'll always find a spot. Good option for breakfast or lunch. Kudos to the staff, keep up the good work!

Yelp
Service was fast and they were polite and patient, "Got Kids" and food was great family was happy.

Yelp
TLDR: Ordered chicken Caprese sandwich, served sandwich with no chicken, told item wasn't on the menu and I could pay more to add it. spoke to manager, then new sandwich was missing half the ingredients. staff doesn't try and manager doesn't care. 1/10 I've always enjoyed Panera, even if it is a bit overpriced. I come to work at this location on occasion, decent coffee, free internet and its usually fairly clean and quiet. I decided to grab lunch since I planned on being here for a few hours, but I was completely disappointed with both the food and the staff's general lack of both interest and effort in providing a good customer experience. I ordered the Chicken Green Goddess Caprese sandwich and a side salad. The salad was good, although it was slathered in dressing (defeating the purpose of being healthy). And the sandwich I was given had no chicken on it, was mostly hard to chew bread and the tiniest amount of cheese. I went to the counter and requested a new sandwich to be told by the girl behind the counter that there is no chicken on my sandwich and I could PAY MORE TO ADD IT??? I politely showed both my receipt and the item on the menu to the girl and she reluctantly had the kitchen remake it. When I checked the new sandwich it now only had 3 ingredients: 2 thin slices of chicken, 1 small piece of cheese, and a metric fuckton of hot peppers. No dressing, tomatoes, basil or garlic aoli. Really upsetting for spending over $20 on my order. The manager doesn't even care enough to fix the mistakes, offer a partial refund, train the staff to know their own menu, or even have a helpful attitude. Terrible experience.

Monica H.

Yelp
We were there at 2pm this afternoon. Nice roomy place. The Wi-Fi worked. I purchased a large chocolate chip cookie. While a small sprinkling brings out sweetness, there was too much salt. I asked for a cup of water and got no reply from the person at the counter where to get it. I asked again when I couldn't find it and got no answer from the new person at the counter. I finally found it on my own. When my friend filled her cup with coffee, it was cold. She had to wait for a new pot to be brewed. We sat at a table [don't like booths] near the front of the store which seemed to have been put there randomly. Order stations were behind us. A few people scooted past our table to get in and out of the place.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Been here several times, this location is very close to the job so we go for the deliciousness, but also the convenience. Lucky me, on this particular visit I was being treated for lunch by my coworker, the food tasted better because it was free and a blessing. Since I am a member of the MyPanera rewards program, I used my # to add the visit to my profile/points collection and I received a free birthday pastry! I chose a cookie, it was great. Ooooooh, the roasted flatbread with basil and tomato and mozzarella has been removed from the menu. Not sure why, but the lady at the register said that it's no longer there. I was sad but I quickly moved on. I moved on to the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich and it was superb!

Laurie C.

Yelp
I have been eating at Panera Bread for 15 + years. While they have always been on the higher end of the price range, the food quality and quantity was acceptable. Then COVID hit and they had to raise prices to offset the price gouging everyone was being charged. Still we would go occasionally, even with the price increase. Today was the needle that broke the camels back. We ordered the same meal we always got. 2-Pick 2-half sandwich and a cup of soup, 2 fountain drinks. Price was $34 and the serving sizes were noticeably smaller than previously. Also they were out of some ingredients to make the sandwiches we wanted. So for at least twice as much as even a year ago, you got less food. This will be my last time visiting this restaurant.

Angie P.

Yelp
Food is okay, way overpriced. Packaging is not great. Ordered soup and a sandwich, received 2 apples as a side. Bag broke open in the car, the cup of soup was pushed in on one side possibly from the apples, this caused soup to leak out which caused bag to break. There were no napkins in the bag. Service was meh. The chicken noodle soup was meh, Jason's Deli chicken noodle soup is better in my opinion. Overall the food quality and experience is not worth the visit or the money.

Purple A.

Yelp
i waited like 30 minutes for my sandwich but they remade it and i got a cookie and cinnamon roll for free, love u panera workers

Yelp
Food ready 20 minutes after receiving email saying food is ready. Unhelpful staff while I was waiting. Bread is just thrown in Sandwich halfway wrapped. Garbage overall.

Yelp
Ordered to-go on 7/7/2020: I usually order the greek goddess cobb salad with chicken from Panera Bread. It's my absolute favorite! However I decided to shake things up and order from the breakfast menu, which I've never had before and this was my first time at the West Gray location. I usually order from the Fairmont Parkway location without any issues and the staff there is always top notch! I decided to go with the avocado, egg white and spinach sprouted grain bagel flat. The picture looked very appetizing and I was excited to try something new. As I was driving home I decided to check my order. To my surprise, it was incorrect. I called the store and spoke with the manager, Matt, and mentioned to him that my order was wrong. He proceeded to tell me that they were out of the sprouted bagel since COVID started, which I can completely understand. He then said that the substitution should have been printed on the receipt, which I double checked and it wasn't. The only way I would've know if they were out of something is if I ordered on their app, which I didn't. I ordered in store. I would have appreciated if the cashier told me that they were out of the sprouted bagel so that I could choose something else instead of being given whatever was on hand. Even a plain bagel would have been a better choice. The texture between bread and bagels are very different. Needless to say, my sandwich was underwhelming. I caution other customers to check your order and receipt.

Yelp
Came here and had the best experience! HANDS DOWN THE BEST CROISSANTS IN TOWN!!! The service here was absolutely amazing from the baker, the lady cook in the window, and the server. The bbq chicken sandwich was great and hot. The tea, superb. Will come back, specifically for the croissants though.

Yelp
The employees seemed to be playing a game of hide-and-seek. It's masterclass in poor customer service.
google avatar

Yelp
How hard is it to make a breakfastsandwich? Just ordered this and wish I would have went to Burdger King or something. Nothing like burnt bread. How do you even put the sandwhich together without noticing?
google avatar

Nikki R.

Yelp
Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves!!!! I ordered the 4 cheese grilled cheese SANDWICH and what I got was 2 tiny pieces of toast with a little sprinkled cheese on top!!! Not at all a sandwich............I'm annoyed! #dobetter

Yelp
Love Panera and have eaten at several different locations, including this one, on multiple occasions. However, on 9/28, I ordered you pick two with a sandwich and salad. When I picked it up, they had completely forgotten the sandwich. Good thing I checked the bag before I left! I didn't think about checking the sandwich before I went home and when I finally opened it, it was black from being burned! I couldn't even eat it. Figured it was just an off day. Tonight, 11/9/18, I did the you pick two with grilled cheese with bacon and tomato soup. Points to them for including everything correctly but I had MAYBE a few sprinkles of cheese...on a grilled cheese. It was the most disappointing thing I've ever seen and appalled at how they even thought this was okay. Sadly, I glanced through the other reviews and somebody else had the same thing with their grilled cheese. I will not be retuning to this location. Sad because I was so excited to finally have one so close.

Yelp
Quite possibly the worst cashier experience I've had in some time. "Andrea" as the receipt states her name to be had an attitude before I even got to the register. She got short with me as she must've felt I was taking too much time and decided to fix herself a drink while "I figured out what I want". She had an attitude the entire time. She was openly complaining to other staff about the staff from the day before what they did and didn't do. I just wanted to order a coffee. She was really rude the entire time and I did nothing to invoke or provoke that behavior. She really seems to throw her weight around and I will not give this place my business and I will openly let my clients know that is not a place to go to.

Yelp
I just ordered their flatbread and Cesar salad. It was very good and it is welcome to have a light meal for lunch and dinner. I highly recommend this place. Of course, I have only ordered one time but I will try again.

Yelp
We decided to stop and get dinner here before going to see a show downtown. As we were walking in, we passed a homeless man cleaning his foot behind the restaurant. That should should have been enough to warn us. We ordered at a kiosk and like other reviewers, it did take our food a bit longer to come out than other Paneras. When our food did arrive, my girlfriend's sandwich didn't have bacon on it and it looked like they had used the last slice of bread and just tore it in half to make both ends of the sandwich. Our soft drink had black specs in the bottom of the glass mixed in with the ice that we noticed after we had finished it. It was very unsettling and unappetizing. My food, however, came out and both looked and tasted good. The waitstaff we encountered was very polite. We don't live in the area so its safe to say we won't be back again, but next time we'll be more diligent to check the reviews.

Yelp
I called to place a to go order sat am at 10:00am and was immedietly placed on hold after a quick greeting which I understood. However, I waited 7min to then furthermore get hung up on. I called back and it then rang over and over so I decided to drive to this location which was a 5+min drive away while I called again and could not reach anybody over the phone. Once I arrived the manager on duty told me that they were short staffed. Ok, I understand. I then placed my soup order and was told lunch would not be served until 11am. Wait, the online menu says lunch served at 10am. So, no real apology was offered and all I heard were excuses that they were short staffed and additionally food was not ready. He also didn't address the excessive wait time followed by the hang up. This is a business that should at least have better customer service when these things happen which are understood. I was trying to get food for a sick family member so you could understand the level of frustration to accomodate accordingly.

love it here. Scooter is always so friendly. he really takes his time with my tomato soup. i love the decorations as it reminds me of fishing with my dad back on Lake Waquacket. He was always so keen on father daughter time during the holidays. I'll never forget the time that he caught that large mouth 8.63 lb bass. He was so proud of that day. I remember he built such a big fire in the fireplace after catching that fish. I've always loved the holidays. it's a time to sit back, relax & enjoy time with loved ones.
