Panera Adds Badges to Low Carbon Footprint Menu Items | Eater

"A decade after becoming the first national chain to put calorie counts on its menus, this fast-casual operator is adding climate transparency by marking salads, sandwiches, and soups with “Cool Food Meal” badges for items with lifecycle carbon footprints below 5.38 kilograms of CO2. Working with the World Resources Institute to calculate ingredient footprints, the program covers more than half of entrees; examples of designated items include broccoli cheddar soup, the Fuji apple salad with chicken, and the Mediterranean bowl. Sara Burnett, the company’s vice president of food values, sustainability, and public affairs, says the initiative is intended to educate guests about sustainable options and help them understand the real climate impact of their plates, a move framed against broader concerns that the global food system contributes a substantial share of greenhouse emissions." - Jenny G. Without a National Mask Policy, Americans Look to Chains for Guidance | Eater

Panera Bread’s Plans Menu That Will Be 50% Plant-Based | Eater

"Amid a growing consumer shift toward vegetarian options for health, animal-welfare, and climate reasons, the chain announced an aspirational plan to make half of its entrees plant-based; its menu already contains roughly 25% plant-based items and the company pledged to introduce at least one vegetarian option in every category by 2021. An update clarifies this is an aspirational target rather than a firm commitment to a 50% vegetarian menu by 2021, emphasizing instead the rollout of new plant-based products across categories. Expanding offerings aims to make dining out easier for people who avoid meat so they aren't limited to side salads and fries." - Jaya Saxena

2019’s Best Food TikToks: Kobucha Girl, Anime Cooking, and Panera Mac | Eater

"A widely viewed TikTok showed that the mac-and-cheese is assembled using a sous-vide-style process, igniting controversy after the employee who filmed it was fired; defenders noted the technique is comparable to common home freezing-and-reheating practices, but the incident underscores how TikTok exposure can have real-world consequences and strain relations between workers and brands." - Jenny G. I just tried the Tuna Sandwich at Panera Bread, and wow, it was so good! The thick sourdough bread was the perfect base, holding everything together without being too heavy. The tuna salad was creamy and satisfying, and I loved the freshness of the arugula and cucumber. The tomato and onion added a nice crunch and some extra flavor that made the whole sandwich come together perfectly. I was seriously impressed by how everything worked so well together. It’s definitely a sandwich I’ll be getting again. Totally hit the spot and left me feeling satisfied!

I’ve been a loyal Panera Bread customer for the past 8 years, and I can confidently say they’ve never let me down. From day one, the experience has been nothing short of amazing. Their customer service is consistently top-notch , the employees are always friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. It’s clear they care about their customers and take pride in their work. The food is always fresh, delicious, and served promptly. Whether it’s their soups, salads, sandwiches, or bakery items — everything tastes like it was made with care. After so many years, it truly feels like a place I can count on. I highly recommend Panera Bread to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service. They’ve earned my loyalty and appreciation time and time again! 💛

Google
Panera Bread is never some magical experience, but I was a bit disappointed when I came in to pick up my togo order. There was a counter with a sign saying that’s where you pick up online orders, but no one ever showed up there, and no employees asked me if I had been helped. I had to go to the front cashier to ask for my order. It was a bit frustrating. Other than that, the food itself was solid. Can’t really complain about that part.

I don’t know why I waited so long to visit Panera Bread. It’s certainly a great place for healthy and wholesome lunch. We tried lot of dishes here. And everything for good in taste and portion size. 1. French onion soup - 4/5 2. Chicken soup - 3/5 3. Mediterranean sandwich- 4/5 4. Tomato soup and cheese sandwich-3/5 5. Margarita flatbread pizza -3.5/5 Ambience was good. Staff could be little more polite!

Got the Ciabatta Sausage, Egg & Cheese only to find out the sausage is missing. Update: 04/14/2025 ordered a breakfast sandwich and guess what! The sausage patty is missing again. I thought the first time was a mistake and didn't make a fuss about it, but when this happens two times in a row, that can't be coincidence. I'll be keeping an eye to see if this continues and if it does, they leave me no choice but take the matter to the consumer protection unit of Santa Clara county. Please check your orders before you leave the store.

Google
This cafe is a good place for brunch or dinner. 🥘1. Soups are delicious (I only ate only creamy soups). I take with French baguette usually (always soft, fresh and warm). 🥪2. The tuna salad sandwich is not bad, but I ate more tasty. But he consists fresh vegetables. 🥐3. The bakery is awesome (you can see on photos in the box (4pk) and how is look inside). The vanilla cinnamon roll isn't too sweet and fresh. 🏢4. The building is large, sometimes stuff don't have any time to wipe tables on time. 🤐5. Sometimes I don't understand some people of the stuff because they have a strong accent. 🕵️‍♀️6. My friends told me that you must check your order all time because usually the staff could confused your order. 🏇7. My online order was done throw 10 minutes. It is very fast! Thank you, I'll come back.

Google
This place used to be good. But recently, esp the DoorDash order we got, the items received were totally wrong. How could u mess up ciabatta vs croissants??? And your croissant was so soaky and small. Also, customer wanted to customize for reasons. Pay attention if they said they don’t want cheese!!!!

Yelp
Smaller Panera Bread location but still plenty of seating and outdoor seating as well. Got my coffee quick and easy. Clean inside as it was still very early in the morning.

Yelp
My company ordered lunch from here and I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the food. I ordered a salad with grains and chicken and balsamic sauce. It came with another thicker sweeter sauce too to drizzle on. The portion sizes here were much larger than other salad places I've ordered from. I didn't really like the taste of the nuts in mine, but everything else tasted like a flavorful blend. The bread was roasted nicely and came with some butter. The cookie was so soft and I liked the chocolate in it, although the cookie is more on the sweet side, so share it with a friend. I usually hear mixed things about Panera bread but my good experience counters that. I would order from here again because of the fresh quality and large portion size. They also had many options for me and my coworkers to choose from.

Yelp
If you come here during regular hours, they are well staffed and ready to go. If you come during off hours, you'll be left trying to pickup your togo food and rude workers that are overworked.

Yelp
Got myself a fancy salad on a Monday evening, and it was delish! Customized the caesar salad, replacing the regular chicken with seared chicken thigh, and adding bacon (more protein, please!). Love Panera for their quality ingredients, whether enjoying sandwiches or soups at any of their locations. Today was no different. It was a pretty darn good salad, and even though they were out of the french baguette that typically comes on the side, I was able to substitute seasonal fruit, a pleasant combination of fresh and juicy pineapple, melons, and grapes. Easy ordering at the kiosks, only a 4-minute wait for my order to be ready at the pickup counter (notified via text on my phone), and no interaction with staff necessary. A positive experience and perfect meal thanks to Panera @First.

Yelp
Food is good with decent pricing. This place has many options to try. We tried salad bowls and it was great. Would recommend for a quick lunch.

Yelp
I ordered the Broccoli Cheddar soup which I usually purchase from this location. I placed a pick up order and it was ready rather quickly. This time the soup was much thicker and extremely grainy. I didn't eat even half of the bowl due to the texture. I now have tummy trouble. This is a first for this experience with Panera but definitely one to remember. It's now well after midnight and I'm still up with severe tummy trouble after this bowl of soup.

Yelp
We had our quick bruch here today, sitting outside in the sun and enjoying a healthy hearty meal for 2 :) Lots of parking right outside this outlet and lots and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating has over-head heaters to make it comfy in the evenings. As u enter, there are mini i-pads at 4-5 kiosks where u can go thru the menu and customize and pay as u please. In $26, we got : - chicken avacado melt - 5/5 yummy full sandwich that we shared for $13 - brocolli cheddar soup - 5/5 full portion yummy n cheesy $9 - orange juice - 2/5- skip it. It said not from concentrate but tasted like tropicana so no point paying $4 for it Its a self service restaurant so u have to pick up your food yourself and grab cutlery (towards the left of the pick up area) and condiments (on the right near soda machine) Clean restrooms and friendly staff add to the coziness. The entrees of soup and sandwich comes with a free side. U can pick one side from the following choices: - apple - chips (a small packet of crisps) - baguette (a small piece of bread) Next time i plan to try their value meals of "small cup of soup with half a sandwich" for $9. Seems like a good deal for a snack/ lunch.

Yelp
Today I decided to take my team out for breakfast. I approached the counter and the young lady named Gayra helped me. She had great customer service. I had a problem with my order she resolved it beautifully. Timmy (I believe that was her name) raised her voice at her and questioned her if she was on a break or if she had completed an order. It was so unprofessional as this happened in front of my staff and customers standing in line. Her approach was very hostile that it made us very uncomfortable. This treatment to employees is not necessary. Managers need to be trained on how to resolve conflict with employees in a positive and constructive way. This needs to be addressed by Panera and employees need to be treated with professionalism and respect.

Yelp
Their food is great, but I do not appreciate the boss manager that is rude to her employees. She has a gross attitude and messed up my order. I saw her treating a cashier poorly this week and I couldn't help but feel bad because they're understaffed in the front. I think she is unqualified to be a manager, if you cannot handle stress don't be in a position to manage.

Yelp
This was the strangest panera I've been to. I came here to study for a few hours and let's just say...it was eventful. I ordered a small coffee and an everything bagel. I got charged for a medium coffee and then they gave me an day old bagel that was basically so crispy that I almost choked on it because I couldn't chew it down all the way. Then a strange man sat near me and my friend and started snorting something up his nose and was eating a sugar packet. Not tryna judge like you do you man. But let's just say this study session took some unexpected turns that it will be a funny story to tell in the future. Normally, I love going to Panera but the chances of me coming back to this location is definitely lower. I hope they do a better job food-wise at least.
google avatar

Yelp
This is just the usual Panera Bread joint, nothing exceptional to note. I went on a weekday around late afternoon and stayed for a few hours to get some work done. Ordered a couple of things like soups and had no issues with them whatsoever.

Yelp
I am utterly disgusted with the sandwich that I ordered last night from this Panera. This is my tuna salad sandwich...look closer and you might actually find tuna. $13 for an anemic looking and tasting sandwich?!?! I was shocked when I got home to find that they barely out any actual tuna salad in the tuna salad sandwich. If you're going to charge $13 for a sandwich, then put actual things in the sandwich. Just really annoyed at some thing that looks like someone put a smear of tuna on two pieces of sourdough bread and then charge me $13 for it I've never had a sandwich in my entire life. My family looked at it and felt really bad for me and let me have some of their dinner instead.I'd certainly like to hear from management about standards and making this right.

Kenneth W.

Yelp
Management bad They never have items especially honey and do not care about their customer

Yelp
So we stopped in for a to go order. We are small family and everybody wanted something different. The staff was super friendly and the place was spotlessly clean. Our food was prepared quickly and perfectly. As this was not my order, this review simply reflects and the cleanliness of this Panera and the great staff that took care of us.

Yelp

Yelp
So i normally go to Panera Bread 5 days a week lol. This location on first street is the consistent with all my orders. The food is always prepared how i order. There customer service is 5 stars and excellent management team. They have multiple locations around the bay area but this is one i perfer the most. Keep up the amazing work .CHRIS

Yelp
I was craving something fresh, cold and light so my sister suggested Panera Bread and it was my first time. We ordered a Fuji apple salad with chicken and half a strawberry poppy seed salad with chicken. The portions are on the smaller side. The salads were good but I don't think I'd be back quite honestly. Safeway has similar salads for around the same price but bigger portions.

Yelp
I like this particular location a bit more than others... It's central location to other stores/eateries is key! Not to mention, the staff members are always very polite, the establishment is tidy, the presentation is often very close to the photo(s) And the food is always just as tasty as it was before
google avatar

Yelp
I live near this Panera on North 1st. For 6 years now and counting, I've had many of my morning coffees from this establishment. Staff have always been very friendly over the years. Many junior staff have come and went but regardless of who's there, all staff have been very welcoming or accommodating. The management has been really consistent. I should know since I've been coming here at least 2-3 times a week for the past 6 years. It can be a good sign to have high retention at management. I love the honor system at this location. There's many other Panera locations in South Bay that does not allow you to get your coffee cup yourself after ordering online. This establishment does. Being an unlimited sip club subscriber, the convenience of quickly getting a coffee cup without having to wait for a staff member to hand you one is a time saver - specially when I'm on my way to work! One improvement I did want to mention though is how slow and inefficient rapid pickup appears to be. There is an initial rack behind the cash registers in which rapid pickup orders are placed. The cashiers or other staff goes through them before they are ultimately placed on the rapid pick up shelf accessible to customers. I've seen it daily now to where orders get backed up behind the cash register because they are busy and no one is tending to the rapid pickup orders just sitting there. I've ordered rapid pickup on multiple occasions where my order sits behind the cashier for so long and my hot sandwich becomes cold. I really think this establishment needs to streamline the rapid order process so that customers can actually pickup their orders "rapidly." Establishment is clean. They recently installed a code lock on their restrooms. I think this is to deter homeless people that come in on occasion to use the restrooms. On occasion, my orders have been prepared wrong. Maybe due to the fact that I like to customize my orders to where staff may not be used to reading such complexity or staff are new?
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly Panera is overpriced except for the drink, which is 3 bucks for a medium. I can never justify buying a soup for 8bucks or two BLT sandwiches for 11, but I still do since the atmosphere is nice. It's clean, it's fun because of the drinks, spacious, quiet ish which in all, makes a near perfect work environment. After all, spending money on overpriced food convinces a person to study harder as a way to make up the money-- or maybe it's just my own pessimistic, frugal viewpoints. Another thing, their song selections are amazing. I catch the radio playing the most recent NBHD album Chip Chrome and the Monotones, and it's just a very pleasant surprise. So far I've caught the radio playing Stargazing and Over the Influence on two different visits. On to the food. I've tried the flatbread pepperoni, chicken soup, Apple salad, chips, BLT and so on and everything is pretty lit but pricey. The flatbread pepperoni is pretty decent but not the best pizza ever. For the same price you can get a full Costco pizza. Chicken soup is salty and pricey so it's definitely not my favorite. The BLT is probably my favorite since it's simple, clean and crisp. I'm not sure if you're suppose to do this but I split the quarter of the pickle in half and put it into the two sandwiches, so it has more of a crunch besides the spring mix. It's pricey for sure for two sandwiches but it is filling and nice. Chips are really crunchy so it's pretty tasty. Drinks are bomb as always so there's nothing really much to share but positivity. I usually make myself an Arnold Palmer or a lemonade iced tea mix before I work and the unlimited refills are always a plus. Even though it's expensive, it's pretty nice and spacious inside so its really fun and it does not feel like a chore working inside. Paired of with an Arnold Palmer, it's definitely one of the best study spots in North San Jose.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting location. The lettuce in my sandwich was rotten. It was slimy, black, and stank. I don't know how they thought putting this in a sandwich and giving it to someone was a good idea. They also forgot the mustard. I've been trying to call this location for a half hour and nobody has answered the phone.
google avatar

Yelp
Super yummy and fast service. Panera is a little overpriced but I don't mind it too much because I haven't had a bad experience here yet. The manager(owner?) is very sweet and helpful.

Yelp
The Panera bread is located in a fine neighborhood with lots of fine customers. A wor of caution. Customers are asked to not to disturb other customers' 'train of thoughts.' It was good.

Yelp
I come here quite often, always kind staff and quickly done. I have been lucky never to stand in line or wait long. Too bad some of my faves have been taken off the menu but many good options

Yelp
Fifteen years is a good run. That's how many years I have been Panera's biggest fan. Especially their location on Hamilton in San Jose. This location? Not a fan. Nope, not at all. I visited this location three weeks ago and had "issues." I answered their email survey and voiced my displeasure. Panera made it right and I was again their #1 fan. Last night I went to collect my Rapid Pickup order which is a bit of a misnomer since you need to somehow get the attention of the cashier while she / he is serving someone else and ask them to check for your order. This seems a bit rude to me but Panera assures me it's acceptable behavior. Fortunately an employee was standing by the rack of orders so I asked her to check for mine. She turned, looked at one order out of the six on the rack and said, "Nope, your order's not ready yet." So I waited. And then I waited a bit more. Finally, the cashier looked at me and said, "What was the name again?" She checked the rack and will you look at that, there's my order that has been sitting there since I first asked for it. OK, so compared to the war in Ukraine this really isn't a big deal. She picked up my bag and gave it to the employee who told me originally that it wasn't ready. She walked over to me, holding the bag out like my dog had pooped in it and dropped it on the corner. No "Oh I'm sorry for the mix-up." No "Enjoy your meal." No "Have a nice evening." No "This is totally the wrong job for me because I suck at customer service." Just a blank look and my dog poop bag. North First, you suck.

Yelp
Mistakes happen. Yesterday I bought a combo of Mac and a sandwich through the app. When I got back to the office the mac was a soup. I called and the manager said if I could come back she could get me my mac. I told her I couldn't leave work. She took down my my phone number. She told me when I come in again to ask for her. I came in today and she was extremely nice. Very apologetic and very helpful. Great customer service for a mistake. She and the staff handled it really well.

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Ordered a couple sandwiches here via UberEats, and to my surprise the sandwiches were basically just bread and spread. Meat content was less than a half a chicken egg. Don't recommend... to even my worst enemies.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
As Paneras go, most of them are very similar in product and service. I have been to several different locations and I will hit this one up from time to time if I know I'm going to be in the area around lunch time. The parking lot does get quite full/busy around lunch time, but it is large, so it's not too hard to get a spot, but it may be a tad far, which, for me isn't too big of an issue. The only reason for the 3 stars is because I always pre-order for rapid pick up and my order has never been ready on time at this location. Today it was 10 minutes later. And there are often a lot of people waiting for orders and the area gets very congested. They have the area by the kitchen pickup blocked off (though some people feel they are allowed to go back there) which causes further congestion in the restaurant. So, if I do order here again, I will make sure to show up late in hopes my order will be ready....

Norbert C.

Yelp
Wow, here for the second time and brought some friends with me and it was superb! We had 5 dozens of oysters that tasted so fresh, and the shrimp boil was amazing. You have to check this place out!

Yelp
No wait and 15 minutes for food once we ordered. Bread Bowl Chiken Noodle Soup and The Spicy Take Chiken Sandwich were so good. Chipotle Chiken xd Sandwich was tasty but chipotle sauce portions were small.

Yelp
Looking for a quiet place to work, I opted for Panera. Also, they make great tomato soup, perfect for a light lunch. There is smoke seating. I arrived after lunch hours, so the place was VERY quiet, almost like a library. Wifi is free and there is no time limit. The staff keeps the dining area very clean. Panera offers a lot of comfort type food, like tomato soup, grilled cheese, mac & cheese, as well as many pastries. Overall a good place to park it and crank out a few emails.
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
I actually really enjoy Panera despite them not necessarily having the best/cheapest salads or sandwiches. There's just something very relaxed, comfy, and homey about each of the locations. I've only ever come to this location to redeem the free treats Panera sends me over email, but each time the staff have been very quick, friendly, and courteous. The cafe is also really clean! This time I got the cherry cheese brittany, which is a small, flaky pastry with canned cherries on top and a creamy cheese in the middle. Honestly this wasn't very impressive and if I had paid the $3.49 that it costs I'd be pretty disappointed. Maybe it'd be better if it were fresh and crispy, but this was cold and kinda stale. Not sure if there is an option to warm it up but the cashier taking my order didn't ask. The cheese isn't very creamy - I barely noticed it as I was eating. Oh well. On another note I love the broccoli cheddar soup and bread. Green goddess is also tasty but i find their salads to be a bit overpriced for what they are. There are definitely better, fresher salad places around, but Panera does give pretty good rewards in my opinion.
google avatar

Corey N.

Yelp
Tasty clean food that is good for you. I really like the food each time. Sandwiches are interestingly good, not bland at all. Tonight's Green Goddess Salad and Ten Vegetable soup is one of my "Pick Two" combinations. Fresh salad ingredients. The soup is hit and full of savory taste. Ordered in the store using the Kiosk to go. Only had to wait a few minutes and it was ready. Yum!

Yelp
Great place to get breakfast with your family service is fast and quick.lots of options of food for breakfast- tasty. However if you do order to go- make sure to check ur order. A few times they forgot a few items- missing ingredients like BACON. Y'all know we can't forget bacon.

Yelp
Though it's never been a stellar experience, I felt compelled to write this time. Ordered a hot chocolate, which was sup par quality. After I ordered there was such a massive back up in order pick up that I actually went to the CVS next door to do errands. 20 minutes later when I returned the hot chocolate was ready for me. Picked it up and drove off. The cup felt light so I opened it up after taking 1 sip and the cup was barely half full! Picture attached, it seems like they filled it all up with whip cream and it melted? Trying to give the benefit of the doubt here....

Yelp
I'm really disappointed with the way this location handles the mobile ordering I've been making on their app. I purchased the coffee membership and I loved how I could order on the app. I would wait outside in my car and when the app would notify me "your order is ready on the rapid pick-up shelf" (screen shot of the notification below) I could go in and grab it without having to wait in line or risk being in the store longer than I had to out of concerns for COVID. But starting last week, the employees at this location stopped preparing the mobile orders this way, for whatever reason. I would receive the notification that my drinks were ready on the shelf for pick up, and when I go inside, NOTHING! Not only did I have to wait in the store with the other customers, I'd have to GIVE them my order again while they find the tickets AND THEN they would go prepare the drinks. What even was the point of ordering ahead? Why are they notifying me that the order is ready and waiting on the shelf if I have to go through the line just like everyone else? What gives, Panera?

Yelp
I like this place. But they habitually shortchange you on mac & cheese. 1st picture is from a few weeks ago. 2nd is tonight. The cucumber and tomato side salad is also way short too tonight. Maybe I'll try a different store next time

Yelp
Now that the Panera Bread on Oakland Road is closed, this is my go-to Panera. I love their "pick two" option for soup and salad. I'm always a fan of their strawberry salads and Waldorf chicken sandwiches and always opt for the baguette on the side. What can I say... I love my carbs. My son loves their mac n cheese, grilled cheese, and tomato soup. You can't go wrong with their baked goods either. I usually order ahead of time for pickup and have never had any issues.

Yelp
I love Panera but I will say that their pricing is high for the quality of food they service...but I still eat there all the time lol

Yelp
I ordered a teriyaki bowl to go and was very disappointed with my order. The portion size was more for a child and it was mostly rice and a few pieces of chicken and broccoli. For 12 bucks I expected more from Panera

Yelp
Not sure who prepared this but the serving size is ridiculous. Looks like they gave me someone's leftovers. Soup wasn't even filled halfway. Giving 3 stars because the smoothie was okay.

Yelp
Downgrading this to one star based on my experience today. NEVER COMING BACK! It's a shame because this has become the go to spot for lunch. I ordered a salad online through their website and it was supposed to be ready for pick up by 12:35 pm. So I get there around 12:40 and my food wasn't on the shelf nor on the table they set up to hand out orders. While I waited I decided to order a green tea and paid separately. I got the tea and the lady said she'd hand me my order outside when it was ready. I let her know my name and that my order was customized. She kept saying ok, but I reiterated it since it didn't seem like she was really paying attention. I waited for 10 min and then went back in to inquire about my order. They couldn't find it and the lady said she'd get it done right away. My lunch was already half way over. It was taking time, so I asked for a refund because I wouldn't have enough time to eat my food (I eat slow and like to take my time) she insisted it was ready and tried to hand me an order that wasn't mine. I asked for a refund again and she said hold on, let me look for it. By this time I was on the hangry side and said I'm not waiting, I need a refund because I don't have time to eat it. Ultimately the lady said she couldn't find my order and can't fulfill it. In my mind, I'm like DUHHH! That's why I've been asking for a refund... She gets another lady to issue me a refund and this lady asks for a receipt. I said I don't have one and showed her my completed order online. At this point I don't want anything from this place and tell her I don't want the green tea either. She issued me a refund in the wrong amount. I explained to her that I ordered online and customized it and that the tea was paid separately in the establishment. The refund she gave was short by a few bucks and I tried explaining it to her and she snaps and says "I told you I needed a receipt" so I snap back "I don't have a receipt. I ordered online and showed it to you. Tell me how I'm supposed to get a receipt!!" She looked at me dumbfounded and mad then tried to mouth off to me, but I cut her off and kept asking her to tell me how I'm supposed to get a receipt if I ordered online and reminded her I showed her my order with the confirmation number and amount I paid and that the tea was paid in the establishment separately so if she did the math she would immediately find that she didn't give me a full refund. She tried to stare me down and gave me the meanest look and I turned to the other lady and say "this is the customer service people get when they ask for a refund when you can't find an order that was supposed to be ready 20 min ago?!!!" The other lady apologized and told the other lady to stop speaking. She let me have the tea and gave me $2 cash back. I was owed more because that didn't even take care of the taxes, but I left it alone and took the tea. I think what happened is: they aren't monitoring who is picking up orders off the shelf and someone inadvertently took my order. Improve your process 1st Street Panera!! I will no longer be a customer at this location.

Yelp
San Jose native who visited this location while running errands. Ordered through the kiosk, so my party and myself were able to take time in deciding our order. Got the pick 2 combo, which is a great deal- order of grilled cheese and tomato soup. A great selection for a cold, windy day. The ambience was quiet and nice as diners were enjoying their food while studying, working, and relaxing. The only issue was getting our food. We got a pager from the kiosk and sat down at our chosen table. Once the pager buzzed, we were hesitant whether we pick up the food ourselves or will a server bring it to us. Fortunately, we were sitting close to food pick-up counter. If we were sitting farther, we would have simply wandered throughout the dining floor.
