Panera Bread

My sister and I stopped for lunch. Was slow and no workers at the counter so we used the order yourself. I got a broccoli and cheddar soup bread bowl, and it was delicious. The soup flavors were amazing, it was just the right temperature, and the bread that came with it was fresh. We also got a Strawberry basil fresca drink and it was a 9.5/10. I enjoyed this meal and would recommend.

I think I need a few more years for the food. But the service was clean. Top notch. Kind old lady as well! Amazing spot maybe when I’m another 40+ years.

I stopped to get take out because I had been at the hospital all day. The new sandwich on the bagel with beef was good if had more than two shriveled up slices. I also got the tuna fish sandwich. I took one bite. It was sour. The soups were good.

When you eat here, you realize how soulless and empty fast food is. I was shocked by how dingy the interior looks, debris all over the floor, dirty tables. You order expecting that there must be something delicious that people are willing to go there for. No- everything is just melted cheese on bread. I honestly don’t get why people eat at Panera vs just melting their own cheese at home.

Food and ambiance are great, staff is not friendly and look like they are just fed up of their job.

Placed an online delivery order for $330 a day in advance for an important business meeting. Got an email the morning of the meeting saying they couldn’t deliver until 45 minutes after the requested time (when the meeting would be ending). I asked to pickup instead for the same time the order was placed for and was told they can’t even get it ready until 45 minutes after the original delivery time. I was forced to cancel the order. Staff was rude. I will never use Panera Bread again for any orders.

Consistently excellent food and service. Have never been disappointed with a visit. Definitely one of my favorite places for a quality fast meal.

The food comes out fast and is what you expect from a Panera chain. However don’t expect any service at the order counter. The turnoff for me was the cleanliness. All tables were dirty, floors were dirty, not to mention the bathrooms, they were particularly horrifying. Place needs thorough cleaning and general maintenance & repair.

Twice is a row I have found hair in my food. Twice. One it was at the bottom of my salad. Another it was in my soup bowl and the person I was with found an even longer hair in their soup. Absolutely vile.

Perfect! So tired of paying $40 when i want a sit down light lunch for 2. Panera Bread's light menu is fabulous. Half a sandwich, wonderful soup, and bread. We had 2 of those, more than enough food $14. Fantastic. Had value duets, tuna sandwich and tomato soup and turkey sandwich with chicken and rice soup. Chicken and rice soup was tops.

Just got home with take out and felt the need to share this beyond unacceptable meal I just paid $35 for. Completely unacceptable in my opinion and if I was dining in I'd be getting a full refund.

This has to be the WORST hotdog joint I've ever been to, and hands down the bottom rung for Burlington eateries. The food is grossly overpriced and very poor quality, the condiments were in packets, everything we touched was sticky and the space was filthy, we found the staff was rude and dismissive. We were so disappointed! Honestly, how do you mess up a hotdog bar so bad, they're one of the easiest most forgiving foods to cook and serve.

food is great every time i order, but for the love of all things holy can you please stop forgetting my chips and baguette? every single time without fail i don't have the sides i ordered.

Not sure what the deal here is in Burlington, but this is another restaurant that seems to hire people who quite frankly, don't give a DAMN about their job. Portions were less than expected, and the salad I ordered was missing the chicken or you only get one piece. The Manager or Shift Lead needs to be Fired. I saw him engage with two customers while I was there, and when I requested a receipt, he acted like I asked him to turn water into wine. I won't be back, just hoping you didn't ruin it for other Panera Restaurants

Clean fast and the food was tasty. Lean bathrooms. Not much else to say about it. It was like most Panera Breads a ross the country.

Food came out incredibly quickly, but it was all downhill from there. I ordered a cup of soup and half the chipotle chicken avocado sandwich, with a baguette. The soup barely filled the cup and had about 3 small pieces of chicken in it. The sandwich was passable with hard crusts burnt on the side. The entire thing was over $10, which was laughable. This was disappointing.

I come here quite often as I do business in this area this is definitely a high traffic store but there's no excuse for the amount of disgusting fingerprints all over the front glass doors the floors and the walls everything just doesn't seem to ever get cleaned.

Pleasant staff but restaurant is filthy. At 10 am, no iced coffee or hot water. Floor, counters, bathrooms a mess. Three counter staff discussing ball scores. Food is good but won't be back anytime soon.

Here I am at Panera hoping things change. But they never do the food. It's OK, but the dining room is a filthy mess as usual and the guy that cashed me out was the same guy that I've had a few times short little stocky guy don't know if he even had a name tag on. But waited to give me my change like he would count it out slowly like I was going to give him a tip which I always do but he doesn't know that, but it makes for a very uncomfortable minute. And it makes me laugh because it always says tips appreciate it but not expected. Wow this guy just with the look on his face did not be sure if he was going to yell at you if you didn't leave a tip Say something under his breath as he laughed very uncomfortable. Also, he doesn't seem to be able to stand up. He's leaning all over the counter like he's got back problems. Like I said, I expect the place to be clean that you dine at as I've been in the hospitality business for all of my adult life, and this place is disgusting potato chips under the tables in the back of the booths, Schmatz all over the place. Just horrible and don't get me going on the bathroom that's like toxic.

It's a chain, so the food is as I expected it to be. I do feel it is over-priced but the food is fresh. The staff is outstanding and when I've had issues with meals (nothing major), they have always corrected it. They managed to stay open during "quarantine" and made extra effort to provide meals safely with curb side pick up. I appreciate that. I like the changing menus and the favorites they leave on each season. I just joined the coffee club! They are a good restaurant and an asset to our community.

Food and service were good but, oh my, why has Panera gotten so expensive?! Sure, 'fresh' food but my sense is that they are about 10-12 dollars too expensive for a family of four to eat there. Skip the fountain drinks and ask for water cups.

I used the Panera app to order a salad and a drink for curbside pickup at 12:15 today. Drove over from my office and waited in the parking lot. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because of the lunch rush, but at 12:55, I went inside the location to check on my order. The guy I spoke to told me that orders are taking about an hour. I said I had already placed my order about 45 minutes prior and asked if he could give me an estimate on when it would be out. He shrugged his shoulders and asked if I wanted my order cancelled. I told him if it hadn't been started yet, to go ahead and cancel it. Got an email from Panera saying I could expect my refund in 7-10 business days. Ridiculous. I won't be back.

This place is a joke! The employees are rude! And I waited for over 30 minutes to pick up a order that was placed online!

First time at this Panera Bread. Second time I've been to one. Last time was years ago in North Carolina! I was on a yelping spree and was trying on deciding where I wanted to get a little bit for lunch, some place fast, easy and I wouldn't mind going solo to! I also have been wanting to compare my mac and cheese recipe to theirs, I had heard this mac and cheese recipe that I use is a copycat for Panera's. For the record : It is similar but the flavor is slightly off! This panera hasn't been there for too long, the place is pretty nice, clean and still new looking. I was a little confused by the table locator and wasn't sure how it worked. It's pretty simple - basically pick any seat and they will deliver your food to your table. The locator just tells them what seat you picked. I got the frontega chicken panini, mac and cheese and an apple with iced chai. The panini was good, chicken was tender, the sandwich meshed really well together and worked well with my side of mac and cheese, which was perfectly creamy and pretty damn yummy. The apple needed to be washed off, it still had a little grit/dirty or something on it. I just popped it in my purse and just remember now about it! The chai was okay, it was a little strong with one of the flavors and it ended up tasting a bit odd. Maybe it needed to be shaken up to mix things up a bit! The service was good, friendly and answered any questions I had. He didn't mind when I changed my mind a few times with ordering (Sorry!) As I was leaving a guy was picking up the plates around the trash area and he seemed really cool, polite and upbeat. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would surely return someday!

Love going there - but bring a winter coat- it's freezing in there - had to go eat outside in the wind (which is a constant here)

I have been to a lot of Panera restaurants and I have to say this one is the worst one . The place is not clean and a bunch of workers just standing around doing nothing the food was good I got the chicken salad sandwich it seems to be good no matter which Panera I go to the thing that was bad was the pecan braids I was very disappointed in them I've had them a couple different times there and they're just like bread they're not good at all

We are on our honeymoon in Burlington, VT we stopped at the Panera on Shelburne RD for breakfast. When we walked in we saw these delicious looking cinnamon crunch scones and bear claws. We were going to order one of each when we noticed little black bugs crawling over the pastries. When we talked to the young man behind the counter he said, "oh yeah, we've been having a problem with them." We decided not to get any food just coffee. They were out of regular coffee. When we went back to inform the guy at the counter he had apparently informed his manager about the little black bugs and instead of removing the contaminated food items she just swished the bugs away. That point we just decided to leave. Didnt get the coffee or even request a refund just left. It was just disgusting.

This Panera bread is usually pretty good but we had a horrible experience when my wife found a hair in her food. It was repulsive but when I called and politely told the manager, she was shocked and confused but we were immediately given a replacement sandwich. We returned many more times and never had a problem after that.

I love this Panera! It's clean every time I come, and unlike the one in Williston, my silverware is clean. The service here is quick and the vibe is relaxing, even when they are busy!

Bacon, tomato grilled cheese is not GRILLED, cook says we have ovens, no grill. It was not even on barely warmed up toasted bread, still very soft. At almost 10 bucks the grilled cheese with bacon tomato should WOW you. This was another cost cutting attempt at fast food, and not a good one. Chick fil A across the street has a better sandwich at a bit over 4 bucks. I dont know what the draw is to Panera. Only went because I was given a gift card.

Buyer beware! I have been sick and wanted some chicken soup, so I ordered Panera's "group" size, to the tune of $22 (plus tax, tip, and delivery fees). For that price I got a quart of soup and 4 pieces of bread. One. Quart. That's $88 bucks a gallon. And it's mediocre soup at that. Disgusted. I will never buy from Panera again. I still don't get why this place is so popular.

Worst service, and the manager is the rudest one of them all. Panera lost a customer me and my family.

We stopped at this location while staying in the area. The cashier couldn't answer simple menu questions, then she rang it up cash after we told her credit. The manager had to be called to redo our whole order. When our Togo order was finally ready we checked our bag & soup was missing. When we went back to get it, the employee preparing food was eating & preparing food with the same gloves, yuck! Definitely not what I expect from Panera.

Panera's newest location in the Burlington area! I must say its gonna do well from what I can tell. For the new people in town or travelers to the Burlington area this used to be a Friendly's. It was old smelly and felt like it was gonna cave in around you! What Panera did this with location is just flat out amazing! They now have an open floor plan and a lot more setting! You will still find your classic fireplace, comfy chairs with a small coffee table and booths to pick from! A little something for everyone. They also offer free WiFi for their customers. (Hint hint college students!) The service here is very quick. We ordered our food before we sat down like at any other Panera and we went ahead and sat our selves. They had our food out to us within 10 minutes. The restaurant was very clean on top of that! Pricing here is also very fair. For one bread bowl and one sandwich we spent about $19.46. It's cheap and it taste good! My only complaint about Panera is the rewards card. Its more or less how it works. When we earn points it never seems to earn us anything that we would use. A few months ago we got a free smoothie...However we don't like smoothies so it did nothing for us. This past trip we got a free cookie....And we don't eat cookies all that much. What they should do is do what Subway does. earn points toward items you ORDER. Like subs, soup or other items that can be bought for a certain amount of points. Now this is not an issue with this location and this will not reflect on its score. So I have to give this location a 5/5 stars. I walked in AMAZED with what they did with this space. They gave it another life and the service is as equally as good. It's by far my favorite location in Vermont to date!

I just love Panera! I go here 2-3 times a month. My kids love the mac and cheese, the grilled cheese and PB&J. I am a huge fan of all the salads on the menu and their new noodle bowls are amazing. Please expand your delivery area!! You won't regret going here. They are fast and clean. They have a cute little patio (its on a busy road but at least they have outside seating!)

The restaurant and its staff at this location is top notch. Granted we all know most chain-style eateries follow corporate protocol, the Shelburne Road Panera is exceptionally clean with employees that care. I stop in for dinner here quite frequently since it's close to my neighborhood. If you are travelling on and need a bite to take the edge off, it's easily located right off exit 13 heading south on Rt 7.

Good food, prices have gotten more expensive since the last time I have eaten here... The dining area and bathrooms were quite dirty, but everything else was fantastic, including staff. Have never had a bad experience at a Panera.

This Panera was great. My favorite part was that they brought your order out to you. In NY they don't do that, you have to wait and carry it yourself The food was great, and I liked the dinner roll with my soup instead of a baguette like I'm accustomed to. My Mediterranean veggie sandwich was great. Good options for vegetarians.

I ordered delivery for the family tonight, it took less than 15 minutes to get it to my doorstep. I ordered a chipotle flat bread pizza (buy one get one free mind you) and a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup, it was delicious. Thank you to the Panera team in South Burlington VT on Shelburne Rd.

Why can't they clean? Never ever clean here. From the start your dinning room was & is always DIRTY! Your food we all love. But dirt in the booths all over them YUCK! Why? Food splatter throughout ..... come on Panera if your food is clean why on earth isn't your dinning room? After how many years of this.Dirty dinning room. Why isn't it important to keep it clean?

One of my favorite places for lunch. The menu is ever changing and the staff are very helpful. They take the time to make sure your order is what you would expect. The service is fast, even on busy times. You can be in and out there in less than an hour. You can also order online for pick up.

Stopped here after driving for a few hours. Clean place, lots of seats and a clean restroom. We washed up, ate up and rested up. I usually eat at a Panera bread in Massachusetts (near my home) and I love it. This one was 2x's the size! Had a bagel and cold drink! Just as good as I am used to!

Let me preface this by saying that my expectations for Panera are incredibly low to begin with. It's not meant to be gourmet. I walk in there expecting millennial McDonald's and nothing more. That said, this particular Panera has blown me away with their uncanny ability to get my order wrong every. single. time. Literally every time I get my order it's a search for what's missing. A side? The dressing for my salad? An entire sandwich? My dignity?

I love Panera. Broccoli cheddar soup is fantastic and so is the creamy Mac and cheese and the chicken tortellini Alfredo. Service is great and staff is very welcoming. Drinks are delicious. Panera? More like Paner-YA!

Good clean food to eat with the family. The Frontega Chicken Panini is my go to at Panera and it never disappoints. The Bakery selection is scrumptious and seriously drool worthy, good luck in finding just one thing to take from there!

We love the always delicious, always changing Panera menu and stop there often when we visit Burlington. However one small thing keeps happening: if you order a hot drink in a paper cup, the cashier grabs it from under the counter with all 5 fingers around the rim of the cup. This is the same person who handles money or other items that are, at best, germ-laden. I'm no germaphobe, but this small habit can spread bacteria and viruses to anyone who uses that cup. I've reported it to HQ several times but the same unsanitary practice continues. A word to the wise: watch how your cup, which goes straight to your lips, is given to you.

Every time I go here my drinks are pristine and the customer service is the best I've ever had at a coffee shop. When you order a splash of almond or coconut milk they don't obnoxiously fill up an entire cup and charge extra for it. The cashiers are friendly and nice to talk to. Overall GREAT!

I have been to Panera many times. Waitstaff is friendly, the food is fresh and delivered to your table quickly. My favorites are the frontega chicken sandwich and the chicken caesar salad.

No flexibility with breakfast on the weekends... even at 11:15am for ONE CHILD requesting bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. In addition, there were spinach leaves (whole) in my green passion smoothie! This location also makes the worst version of that drink. Go to Williston instead.

This is a Panera Bread. They exist all over the country. It's pretty standard stuff... There is absolutely nothing special about this place...it's good quality food, at reasonable costs. It tastes pretty good too, but exactly as if you had bought it at the Panera Bread in Florida or New York. I go here when I want predictability. With that being said: this particular Panera gets 3 stars because every time I've been here the service has been fairly slow, even if they're not that busy. I think one time it was fairly quick, and it was during the lunch rush. I've waited 10 minutes for a latte there though. (Starbucks down the road will have it to you in 2.) Also, the floor plan is open, but with a lot more small tables than some Panera's seem to have. Many Panera's are set up to for patrons to come in, sit and work. I felt like this one is more suited for people just to eat. It's a shame too, because if you're there you can refill your coffee as much as you please. It's also quite noisy during peak hours, unlike a lot of other Panera's where the couple at the table next to yours is whispering, and all you hear is the smooth jazz or classical soundtrack they seem to play at every location. And finally those two stars come out because of the strange lighting in there. A table will either be so bright you can't work at a computer, or so dim your eyes strain. It just doesn't have that "I can go chill and pound out my writing" vibe that other Panera's do. But, if you just want to have a quick light lunch with friends and know everyone will be satisfied (though not raving) about their meals, this is a great go-to spot.

Panera. I'm sure the food is good I didn't have a lot but I'm sure it's ok. the process of ordering was stressful. there's too many options. i almost cried. the service was good and endured my stressed-out-ness. they offered a cookie, I didn't accept but I'm sure it's good. the service is fast and I won't come here again. ok I might come back again. that's it.

good food and good service but food stains on the seats and booths and bathrooms need cleaning better

I've found it consistently easy to get seating and while its hard for me to stand, I just pop into the line when it's small. My some employees, I'm now greeted by name. Look for Monique (AMs) and a guy who speaks Spanish with a smile bigger than the planet. If they typify training, the company is good. There are some real stars on the service/cashier line--helpful, friendly, fast, smart. Big smiles. The food quality, and wide choice, is outstanding. Big-gun management is around watching, and checking on trouble spots/filling in at the register, looking for mall things: tables, china drop off, rest rooms. There's an occasional snag: after a rush, lemons might run out for iced tea. As with all such chains, few offer healthy sweetener alternatives like Stevia; providing this on request would distinguish them. For now, I carry my own.

the thai chicken salad is the best on the menu. couple it with the bacon turkey bravo for an ultimate meal

Panera is illegally collecting the Meals Tax on puchases of 3 loose bakery item or more. I have brought this to their attention 3 times including today with Bailey in Williston. They continue to ignore the law. VSA Title 32: Chapter 225, § 9202. Definitions, (10) "Taxable meal" means, (D) "Taxable meal" shall not include: single-serving bakery items sold in quantities of three or more;

I am starting to think that the quality of the certain franchises and the product they produce are reflective the labor available for this industry in certain places like northern vt. The only thing was good was the factory pre-made cookie. I was nervous as to how quickly my sandwich was done- taking it to go. I could open and close a D'Angelos Sub shop in Mass when I was 16 so I will admit I have tough standards eating out. Could not have been more disappointed in flatbread and Panini. It seemed microwaved but do not not if that's the case? do not want to slander- Had better Panera meals at other locations in southern new england. peace and love.
