Boston Food and Drink Events, September 2023 | Eater Boston

"A newly soft-opened coffeeshop and nonprofit community center in Quincy that pairs coffee and Filipino pastries like pandesal with a cafe-library model aimed at improving access to education and resources for historically underrepresented groups, with a special focus on the Asian-American and Pacific Islander community." - Nathan Tavares

I love the positive vibes and colors as well as the all welcoming aura at Pepo! Stepped into this cozy non-profit cafe and well curated library yesterday for the first time. Emily was a sweetheart. We had some amazing conversations that kept her at work a bit longer. Apologies, Emily. I devoured the pork siopao and white peach tea before I took any photos. Thank you for the sweet treats, too! Let’s say it won’t be my last time here. 😉. Street parking was easy around the corner.

It's a nice cozy hangout spot. As a business they have good community goals, free wifi, and a library of Asian related books (including manga). There's a decent menu selection of snacks. I definitely recommend the drinks (careful the lids aren't that tight so be cautious of spillage) they serve the MemTea brand of teas, but also serve things such as Vietnamese coffee, Thai iced tea, mango juice, hot chocolate and more. For food, I definitely love that they have pride bagels as the staple bagel. You can also get the sandwiches made on a pandesal instead if you wish. They also serve siopao, lumpia, and castella/Swiss rolls. Personally my favorite drink is the London fog, but if you have time. Let them take the extra time for steaming and steeping the tea for a really deep flavor. And for mix ins, they have a extensive list of dairy alternatives as well as plentiful options for sweeteners. There is also ube, and panda syrups to add extra flavor if that's your jam. Overall I would come back frequently because the prices are reasonable (if anything they're alot cheaper than other local options)

Rainbow bagels and drinks were amazing, but Connie’s customer service really made our visit. She sat with us for over 30 minutes giving recommendations for food and experiences in the area. You can’t get service like this at chain coffee shops and not to mention the prices are so affordable!

This place is really creative, informative and welcoming. I can tell it’s a community space. I got an earl grey latte and a spam sandwich with kimchi. So yummy! Thank you for sharing your space!

Google
This neighborhood desperately needs a cafe, especially with this kind of mission. It’s a good location that could be a cornerstone of the community, however they’re only open ~12 hours over three days per week. They started out strong but, inconsistent hours, programs often abandoned, not worth planning around imo

Love the mission! The coffee is great and the staff is very welcoming. FYI that there are steps by the door to get into the building so not wheelchair accessible

Yelp
Quick version: Low prices for excellent quality, really lovely atmosphere My chai latte was much better than the one I would've gotten at Starbucks and was pretty large for the price I paid. They were out of eggs, so I got a pork bun which was fluffy and delicious as well. They had a medium sized-menu with a good selection of your run of the mill American cafe staples as well as options that are harder to find in this area -- Saipao buns, ube lattes, lumpia... I was getting pissed off on the highway on my way to the school in Boston so I pulled off and was looking for a cafe somewhere in Milton or Quincy to work in until the traffic died off a little and found this on Apple Maps. So glad I stopped in! The cafe is bright and home-y, and they also are clearly trying to be a place to build community in the area. They have a whole library and check out system it seems for people to borrow books, and based on the signs welcome in anyone that needs to use the restroom or respite from whatever weather is going on! I used one of their tables and worked on some schoolwork, but they also had a variety of soft seating available. They had a really good playlist that had a great beat but was still kinda chill. It wasn't super busy, probably since it was midday on a Thursday, but damn it should be busier in there! Great spot... will most likely be stopping here the next time I find myself screaming at other cars and needing to calm my road rage. Another note: I saw a sign and it looks like they have a way for people to hold events here. If you had a community group that needed a spot to have meet ups I think this would be a great spot

Yelp
I ordered an ube latte (small hot w almond milk) and egg sandwich (w longanisa and seaweed on pandesal) - TASTE: 4/5 - the ube extract flavor was strong and bitter, but adding more milk helped sweeten it. Liked the combo of sweet longanisa and salty seaweed in the egg sandwich TEXTURE: 4/5 - toasted pandesal, melted cheese, and crisp seaweed PRICE: 4/5 - total came to $12 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - debated getting the egg sandwich on a bagel for a potentially bigger portion vs. the small pandesal SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 10:15am on a Sunday and the space was empty. The employee at the counter was helpful and friendly ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - cozy, bright, and community-oriented space w murals and home-y touches PARKING: 4/5 - spots on Belmont St were taken, but more street parking available on Holbrook Rd

Yelp
What a wonderful find! A rare hidden gem for me! Just had a fantastic pour over (lived up to its name ) and a delicious egg sando! Very cute and comfortable atmosphere!

Yelp
This was such a hidden gem! I stumbled upon this coffee shop on maps and decided to try on a whim and they did not disappoint! I got an earl grey latte with ube and it was fantastic - it's like a fruity pebble marshmallow to me. I love their vision and mission with the place and their library. Just found my new favorite local coffee shop! There's a good amount of street parking in the surrounding streets, just gotta look for the parking signs.

Yelp
Cute non-profit coffee shop and community space. There are 3-4 tables where they encourage people to come and play games, study or just hang out. There is a lending library for the community too. The coffee is yummy and standard pricing. Inviting space, but limited parking on the street.

Yelp
Lovely small local coffee shop that serves the neighborhood and supports social causes. The cold brew was solid and very affordable. Inside was cozy and quiet with lots of books and toys for entertainment. Street parking on the side streets. great neighborhood gem worth supporting.

Yelp
Food & coffee are delicious! Service is consistently good! Ambiance is so cute! They make having coffee with a friend/by yourself very welcoming as you have access to books, coloring, and other activities!

Yelp
Arrived 10 minutes after posted opening excited to try a new coffee shop and it was closed with a sign saying to return at 8am. Returned at 8:20 and it was still closed. Edit: This was on 1/6. The sign was there as of 8:20am on1/6. Just looked up the public IG and didn't see anything related to hours on that day. Maybe it's only visible if you have a profile? Not sure. Either way, don't think too many people check IG before going to get coffee.

Yelp
Great non-profit that also serves as a cafe. Staff is super friendly. Coffee and treats are great! Inside is super cozy!

Kim H.

Yelp
Great community place that welcomes all! Creates a safe place to hang out and enjoy drinks and food. Wonderful staff and amazing community non profit cafe! All should support its cause!! Because of PEPO, we can continue offering free coding classes to community kids!

Danielle P.

Yelp
Great place to get a cup of coffee and read books! The Pandesal is super yummy too. Definitely recommend checking it out :)

Yelp
Stopped by at a friend's recommendation and left happy after an ube cheese, matcha latte, and a good book. The atmosphere is aggressively comfy and the staff is super nice. Definitely a highlight not just as a cafe, but as a community-building effort.

Yuri-Grace O.

Yelp
Great non-profit mission, cute spot! Loved the ube latte and atomic espresso. Their free library is stocked with great reads.

MacaSushi W.

Yelp
Coffee is not good. Tried a hot latte and Ube latte. Latte had no espresso flavor and the ube latte tasted terrible with a lot of food coloring. The mission is great as a community space but would not recommend the coffee at all.

Malichi M.

Yelp
Super chill and nice place to hangout. Drink were great too :D would definitely come back again!!

Mary G.

Yelp
Great place for kids, very welcoming, and interesting drinks on the menu. Loved the ube coffee (iced)!
