Best Karaoke Bars in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Pang Pang regulars enjoy the private room setup and recommend straight alcohol in lieu of mixed drinks. You’ll find everything from today’s hits to time-honoured classics on the song repertoire, and food gets delivered straight to the room, so there’s no need to pause the queue." - Eater Staff

Honestly the best karaoke experience I’ve had in Montreal. It was hella fun and fire. The staffs were SUPER NICE and PATIENT with us as it was our first time and they explained very well! They’re also super nice! We went to few other locations and they were really rude, but this spot was splendid! 10/10☺️☺️☺️ THEY HAVE LEAGUE OF LEGENDS SONGS!!!!

Idk how many times I've been here but everytime I go I have so much fun :) Always go during the happy hours which is between 3pm ~ 8pm and 20$ for the whole time. It's 20$ per person no matter how many of you guys go btw. There may not be all the songs you want because they have mostly korean songs but they still have a big variety and languages such as japanese chinese russian vietnamese and maybe smt else but I forgot.

Google
Good atmosphere, the rooms were big enough for 20 people to sit and sing and dance, make videos... if you bring your own food, they accept it, and they even clean with you if you need help.

Google
Very good experience!! Been there quite a few times, the receptionist lady is always so nice and the time limits aren’t so strict. It’d be even better if a digital song list could be added for an easier search of songs!

Divine

Google
This was one of the coolest things to do in Montreal during a rainy day! Loved it !!! 20$ per person

Google
It's over hyped for me and overpriced compare to other good places around. Their catalogue is not that big and varied. But i have to admit that I still have fun going there and the room are comfy and clean

Google
Pang Pang was wonderful! We felt very comfortable. It reminded us when we at noraebang in Korea. We wished the sound system would have been more customizable.

Google
Best karaoke in Montreal !!! Very friendly staff, very clean and comfortable rooms. 10/10 recommend. They also have a great happy hour deal at 20 a person. A steal ;) There’s also a PhotoBooth with fun props at the lobby.

Yelp
This place is so much fun and I have made so many beautiful memories with my friends in their karaoke rooms. The ambiance was great, especially when we needed cool air in the room, they adjusted right away as the staffs are accommodating.. The rooms are clean and do not smell like cigarettes. Songs are up-to-date. If you think of a title, they will most likely have it! Come with your vocals warmed up and ready to have a blast!

Yelp
Lots of birthday parties for minors and cool photobooth (life4cuts) - no longer a bar (they don't sell alcohol anymore) but a different concept for both minors and adults! Private rooms with great sound system, friendly staff, endless selection of Kpop songs, and most of the popular English songs. Always a blast to have a party in this place!

Yelp
We went to Pang Pang for my friend's bachelorette party, and we sure went ham on cheesy classics. To be honest, it was hard not to, since their English song selection was getting a bit old - there's nothing from this year, and flipping throught the pages in the dim light is just time-consuming. I wish they had a computerized system to search for artists/songs... As per usual, most songs had a completely unrelated music video playing in the background, which is always funny. The design of the place is unspeakably gaudy, with extravagant, golden high-relief sculptures of unknown Greco-Roman dudes on the walls. They also name their private rooms as precious stones (we were in the Topaz room). Their sound system (Bose) is fine, yet the mics were not working that well. But since the room is small and private, you can simply sing out loud and there won't be much of a difference. We had sangria and tequila shots - service was fairly fast and the drinks were fine. After two hours of howling Abba, Bon Jovi and whatnot, we paid and left. It was a lot of fun overall, but next time I'll probably look somewhere else for Asian-style karaoke.

Yelp
I love this place! I've been numerous times and have always had fun. There are small private rooms for groups. It's $40/hour for a small room where they give 2 mics. You have to order a drink each. So expect to pay around $20 each for one hour. The remote is confusing coz it's in Korean. I would love it if they would just add stickers that say "select" start" "ok" "skip" "cancel". It would allow us to waste less time in the beginning. Also, it would be great to have songs listed BY ARTIST. Again, it would save so much time. I'll prob keep coming back despite its flaws. Great location in the heart of downtown.

Yelp
They make each person order at least one drink, despite having to pay for room rental fee. The rate is by hour but they let you leave whenever. A bottle of water is like $5, so might as well make a dollar extra for a soft drink? Wings are $25 LOL The people working there seem to hate it. Our server came in with drinks and we told her she missed a stellar performance of a popular song. She replied with "I heard that 30000 times in the past month" in a non-joking sour tone... :( I'm sorry, girl. Song selection is decent, they add new songs in English, Japanese, and Korean every month. Kareoke bars are extremely popular in Asian countries, so the places gotta be on top of things to be popular. It's always a fun time I guess, but this place would go out of business in Asia if they operated the same way.

Yelp
What a fun place! 13 of us rented a large room for a bachelorette party and had an absolute blast. The gentleman working at the front was sure to guide us to our room and teach us how to select and enter songs into our queue (this was very necessary since the remote is in korean!). After he left, we had a call button to request a server come and take drink orders, change room temp, etc. Drinks were always quick to arrive which is always good when singing! Yes, the song lists don't have many songs from the last few years, but part of the fun was singing the classics. Cost for the room was super reasonable which made up for somewhat pricier drinks. Wish they had one of these in Boston!

Yelp
It's goofy karaoke, what's not to like? The private rooms are a lot of fun. Drinks and food are EXPENSIVE so eat before you go there. Let your hair down and belt out a song or two with your friends - it's a lot of fun :-)

Yelp
If you have traveled or lived in Asia, then you probably know how popular their KTV (private karaoke) places. If you feeling like singing and dancing with some friends in a privacy of your own room, then this is a perfect place to spend few hours on Friday or Saturday night before or after hitting the bars. The selection of music may not be as big as other karaoke bars in Montreal. But their rooms are clean and nice and perfect for a small party between friends.

Yelp
Over-priced for karaoke, and even more so for drinks. The Mojo shot bottles they sell for 50$ a piece are available for 9.99$ at my local depanneur. We made the mistake of buying two bottles the first time we had been in years, and will certainly not be ripped off again. The staff is rude and kind of cold, the lady at the counter was incredibly snotty and refused to help us calculate what the cost per person for the room would be -- she would not even let us use her calculator that she had right in front of her. We ordered food off of their snack menu and it never came, yet they tried to charge us for it, so make sure you check your bill before you pay!, The song selection is decently good and updated frequently -- though not any more so than other nearby karaoke places -- and the decor is nice, if not a little cheesy. Do make reservations at least a few days in advance, or don't expect to get a room. Also, make sure you specify how long you want to reserve the room for, otherwise, as some people below have said, you will get kicked out in the middle of your evening without any notice.

Yelp
An amazing place to hang out with friends, lose your voice, have a great time. The private room was spacious & well lit. Amazing song selections. Wish there were a little more international songs- Hindi, French etc. but overall had a blast. It was 7 of us & no one could talk at the end coz we sang our hearts out. Definitely worth visiting!

Yelp
Great place!! Good for girls night out! we went on a bachelorette and it was perfect! No gross guys around haha It was a bit pricey...so thats why i put four stars. it was clean and good service. I would go back.

Yelp
Ok. Overall good, front desk people were gentle. Weekends prices are bit too expensive, almost double than weekdays.

Yelp
It was fun but pricey. Missing a lot of Generation X music from the catalogue and the fact that there's no section of the book where you can look up by artist is annoying. We had fun because of the group we went with, not because of the facility itself. André helped us to settle in (great customer service) but we inevitably had issues with the remote control. It took a hugely long time to pay the bill and we're pretty sure we were overcharged. I'll be looking for a new karaoke place to try.

Yelp
HORRIBLE PLACE! RUDE STAFF! The staff was incredibly rude to us. I used to come to this place when I was 16 and assumed it was like before... if you want to drink and sing then you have to be of age, if not then you can simply rent a room to sing. Having had a great experience here, I brought my little brother here for his 18th bday and we made the mistake of bringing 2 of his 17 year old friends. I understand it was my mistake, because their business status has changed. You can no longer rent a room; you must buy a drink and be of age, as they are a registered bar (my bad). However, instead of politely telling us to leave, they humiliated us and scolded us. One man in particular was incredibly disrespectful and dismissive when I was trying to salvage my brother's birthday and asked him if he knew of another karaoke lounge that might be for all ages. The female staff were more civil but the one male employee that interacted with us ruined our evening.

Yelp
Bootleg Karaoke should be the name. If the song you want to sing has a guitar expect an xylophone kindergarten ripped off version instead. Terrible sound. Plus 1 for individual rooms but boring ass place.
google avatar

Anastasia L.

Yelp
This place is decked out and beautiful.... As for the service... You MUST make reservations prior to entering or else you will get kicked out in the middle of your experience if that room was already booked prior to you booking it. Would that be considered bad service or proper service?

Yelp
This place is expensive, BUT song selection is by far more superior than the other karaoke spots in Montreal. They have a happy hour 3PM-8PM which is $10/hr which is cheaper but I think it still adds up. They have Korean, Vietnamese, and English songs. Every time I went, they had updated, new English hits like Moves like Jagger or Rocketeer. So if you want to sing the latest songs, fret not, because most likely Pang Pang will have it. Alcohol price is the same, around 6 bucks for a beer 4 for a shot last time I checked. Rooms are clean, screen is quite large and remote control is a bit intimidating because it's all big, fat chunkyish. Service is ok from all the times i went, neither bad nor good. I would give it a 4 if it wasn't so darn expensive.

Yelp
Very nice place, people are kind and the ambiance is great! They have the newest song out there and it's a great place to go with a gang of friends
google avatar

Stefany P.

Yelp
Loved the place! If your a little group it's awesome to have your own lounge especially for a friends birthday! The bottles of alcohol weren't that expensive. The fact that its intimate gives the chance for everyone to sing and not be shy! I am definitely going to go back.

Yelp
Just realized I never reviewed Pang Pang after an awesome night here last summer! It's private, small room karaoke, perfect for the bachelorette party vibe we were riding that night: gang of gals, no one bothering us, no inhibitions, no judgement for picking whatever cheesy songs your heart desires. We stuck to straight whiskey, beer, or simple vodka soda type stuff so we didn't have any issues with the cocktails others have mentioned. Staff were friendly and helped us out with some extra time. And they have truly amazing weird videos to go with all your sings. Classic, and hilarious.
google avatar

Anuj K.

Yelp
Place is ok, rooms are nice. Music selection is ok, but the videos to the music are bad videos that have nothing to do with the songs. Be careful ordering drinks here. Way overpriced and they add automatic service charge and tips to the drinks... making a 5.50$ drink over 7$ for a tiny glass of a badly mixed drink. With the fact they charge for the room rental, they should make the drinks at least decent priced. T

Yelp
PangPang is a BLAST! I just got home, but before leaving i declared to my roommate, "This is stupid. I don't know why I'm going. I have to because I'm the one who suggested it. I'll be back in one hour." Was I ever WRONG! I went there to celebrate a friend's birthday and there were five of us. We were in the Aquamarine Room, which was very spacious and comfortable. You get to choose your songs from a humongous catalogue of titles. Seriously, if you can't find at least a handful of songs you like, you're either über-picky or you're seven years old. I was driving so I had a very reasonably priced Shirley Temple. There was also a choice of three appetizers if you get the munchies (two meat and one vegetarian). The rooms were clean, the doors are frosted so nosy fans can't look in on you serenading your friends off-key or belting out Gangsta's Paradise in your inappropriate whiteness! You can NOT have a bad time if you enjoy singing, whether or not you're good at it! I HIGHLY recommend PangPang. This was my first experience but not my last!

Yelp
Alcohol is too expensive. The 11 $ drink didn't have any vodka. Anyways . don't go here.

Paul N.

Yelp
Save your money and go to K Karaoke, at the least you are not forced to get any type of beverage. They divide the bill when you are a large group of people are or not rude. Avoid this dump, they are unfriendly, bossy, bitchy, uncultured and have no idea what customer service is.

Marie-Madeleine D.

Yelp
I had fun cause it's karaoke and they have a wide set variety of songs. But the service is terrible, they're so thirsty for your money. I don't think I'll be visiting again.

Adrienne C.

Yelp
Worst karaoke I've ever been to, you would have to spend at least an hour searching for your songs in the many books to select instead of selecting it on screen by artists/genre in most karaoke place and as you sing your selected songs, the music videos aren't playing instead you'll have a bunch of other random music videos playing in the background. Wouldn't recommend it.

Yelp
Birthday celebration ruined due to incredibly rude service on Saturday February 28, 2015 at Pang Pang, when we were rudely asked to leave even though we had complied to all requests. That night, we were carrying two bottles of wine (unopened) as a birthday gift (card clearly stating that these were gifts) to be given when the best friend arrived to meet the group. Upon entering, our bags were searched and the 'bouncer' said that we were not allowed to enter the private room with the bottles but was kind to suggest that he would store them at reception until we left, which is what he did- we of course agreed. After we entered the room, my sister was pulled out and asked if it were possible to store the alcohol in a car. Unfortunately, we did not have car at that moment but as we knew the best friend did and was on her way, we said we would wait outside with the alcohol until she arrived and leave it in her vehicle. Even before retrieving the bottles from reception, we were abruptly told to leave, even though we were complying with their request of storing them in a vehicle. We were told that this was the manager or owner's request (we do not know as we were asked indirectly by the bouncer, who had been very helpful at this point). We asked to speak to the manager or owner, as we felt we had little information as to why this decision was suddenly made after we clearly had demonstrated good faith in all our actions by respecting all their requests before. The manager or owner appeared to no longer be on the premise and our requests to have more information or be heard were blatantly ignored. Our party of 12 left extremely shocked and disappointed and the birthday celebrations were permanently tainted with this negative experience.

Yelp
WARNING: save your money and go somewhere else for an evening out in our great city! Went here a few nights ago for a small gathering for my friend's birthday (we were 6) and will never return.. Incredibly expensive for tiny drinks and the nachos were 25 dollars. They were the worst nachos on top of it that I have ever been served: Bright orange and yellow cheese melted on regular corn chips with a tiny bit of green olives on it and that's it. The one tiny 2 sip 8 dollar drink I ordered had a fourth of it spilled on the waitress's tray when she served me. I am not one to complain to a person serving me though. But now looking back I feel this was an inexcusable night out and would like to forewarn others. I also saw on the 4 item food menu they serve "fruit" for 45$, wait... what!? On top of being required to buy overly expensive drinks, you have to pay the hourly room price and taxes and tips will be added to your bill. The woman at the front when I walked in and paid was very pleasant but the two other staff were incredibly rude. The waitress came in to aggressively tell me to take my foot off the table (I had one foot casually against the side of the coffee table without even noticing half way through our evening). I politely excused myself and put my feet straight on the ground for her. But then a man that we hadn't seen before (another staff) came in after her and yelled at me and said "were you the one with her feet on the table?". I corrected him and said my foot was on the edge and they are now on the floor. He just looked at us all suspiciously, still livid and left. I had never had a worse service experience. I felt threatened for an unintentional mistake. And the fact that there are cameras in the rooms added to my feeling the staff was watching our every move.
