11 Family-Friendly Restaurants in Miami and Fort Lauderdale | Eater

"This relaxed South Beach taco place will throw a fiesta for your tastebuds. They’ve already set the scene with their pinata décor. Equal parts tradition and invention, at Huahua’s Taqueria you can order classic tacos, or ones stuffed with fried-chicken and topped with cornbread. If you’re not feeling tacos, the menu also has a variety of nachos, quesadillas, burritos, and salads. For your beverage, go south of the border with a Mexican Coca-Cola." - Vox Creative

The Best 12 Restaurants on Lincoln Road | Eater Miami

"Huahua’s Taqueria ditches the pretense of the South Beach scene for simple Mexican food. To start? Sweet corn and queso are musts, followed by a hodgepodge of tacos with all the fixings one could imagine (carnitas, fish, or veggies to name a few)." - Dara Smith

We gathered for dinner with the family, and Danieska truly made the evening special. Her professionalism was evident in every aspect of her service, and her warm, friendly demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere. She was incredibly attentive to every detail, continually checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. Her thoughtful approach made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the meal. We will undoubtedly be returning for more delightful experiences like this!

Google
A cozy indoor and the outdoor seating is aesthetic. With kind, attentive staff, and amazing food that is enough for the 5 stars but this is not a place you visit once just to see. With the prices there is no reason not to eat here every morning!

Lola was phenomenal! The entire staff is so sweet. And can’t forget about the food, phenomenal!!! Don’t pass this place up

Google
Overall, a decepointed experience. The milanesa taste good, but is really thin and over cooked and really hard to cut even with a sharp knife. The fried eggs tasted like plastic, noticing the cheap quality of the product. The staff at the front doesn't seem to know the difference between a baked sweet potato and a fried sweet potato, or at least this is how these ones looked and tasted like. The empanadas are not really good, they are average taste and small, specially the meat one with "entraña" they try to sell as chef specialty, overcharging you for something that simply doesn't keep up with expectations considering the price. The tortilla de papa is thin and really small portion considering the price too. Forgot to take pics of the empanadas, but here are the pics for the milanesa and tortilla with my hand as comparison. Hope this help you do things better next time. I understand times are difficult now, and I would be pleased to pay more for quality; just this place doesn't seem to have that from this experience.

Google
I was extremely impressed with this amazing Argentinian coffee store in South Beach, Miami . It’s centrally located near Lincoln road . Fernando is the best host ever!! He made me try the ricotta cake which reminded me of my mom’s homemade recipe. They have a great variety of pastry , facturas and alfajores ! The Argentinian empanadas and sandwiches de miga are also the best ! I couldn’t avoid taking some home!! Katalina is a great, charming waitress !! Hospitality, great service and good vibes!! I will definitely come back!! Argentinian American living in NYC 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Google
The best empanadas we have ever tried! Highly recommend the place! We tried almost all of them and they were incredible! The ambience was very nice and welcoming and the workers there were so nice and friendly! 1000000/10

Google
Hidden Argentinian gem on Lincoln Road. They have a large variety of amazing empanadas, alfajores, pastries and more. Friendly staff. They offer indoor and outdoor seating options and happy hour. We went on a Saturday and they had a Milanesa special we enjoyed.

Google
Wonderful and delicious Argentinian empanadas, pies and pastries. Very authentic experience and warm hospitality. It has a cute cafe interior and a nice outdoor sidewalk with tables.

Yelp
Super quaint little restaurant in the middle of Miami Beach. I've been a number of times. They have excellent coffee, delicious food and their pastries are to die for. The owner is usually around in the mornings and is the sweetest human being. I would come her daily if I could. Milanesa pictured from one of the times I stopped by for lunch. Great portion and the salad was delish!

Yelp
One of my friends' favorite place to grab a quick bite and coffee. Her father lives 3 minutes from here, and it's convenient. We were walking around the Lincoln Road and wanted to grab some bites. We sat outside and ordered some empanadas and quiche. The young lady was friendly but a little bit slow service. We both enjoyed our food and conversation sitting outside. The place is like a hole in a wall but for a quick bite, it's perfect.

Yelp
The coconut corn muffin (it's a dessert) is one of the greatest things ever. It's truly a dessert not a breakfast item but yum.

Yelp

Yelp
I had the pie of the day (spinach and ricotta). The food was really good. Hubby said his empanada was the best he had ever eaten! The waitress said the Argentina empanada was even better. So we had to taste test it and it was delicious!! If you eat here be sure to try it. We walked a mile to get here and it was so worth it.

Yelp
Discovered Panizza on a walk around Miami Beach. It's such a cute and quaint little spot. The staff is super kind and helpful with any questions or recommendations. I ordered a cortadito and a little cheese croissant and was not disappointed. Prices were quite fair as well for how expensive everything is these days. They serve pastries, empanadas, pasta and other food items along with coffee, beer, and wine. They have seating inside and outside. Can't wait to be back and try other items soon!

Andrea P.

Yelp
super cute little shop, have tried a couple of times and their empanadas and coffee are great. Their lunch items sound good, only tried the burger but it was lovely with the gorgonzola cheese. The servers are nice and good at suggestions, had a great slow sunday brunch.
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
We only had coffee, which was rich and intense (I'm not a fan of the modern blonde coffee taste). The vibe was authentic Argentinian (I'm bored of the common generic bright and breezy coffee shop). The food looked great, though we did not try it. We will be going again.

Yelp
Looking at the massive amount of tasty baked goods behind the counter, you'd think this was a typical grab-and-go bakery. But it seemed most patrons were sitting down with a coffee and enjoying a delicious pastry. If you are getting a bunch of pastries to go, you have to order from a waitress instead of at the counter, which is kinda weird. But so worth it since everything is delicious. Ham & Cheese Pie: This was pretty novel to me, since I haven't had anything like it before. It's definitely a pie, with golden flaky dough on top and a similar crust on bottom. But the filling is alternating layers of ham and cheese (provolone?) and a few thinly sliced tomatoes. Heat it up a little so it's melty and it's absolutely delicious! Way better than a boring old ham & cheese sandwich. Patato Tortilla: A pretty tasty tortilla where the soft potatoes and onions were perfectly in balance with the binding egg. Neither dominated the other. The little side salad of lettuce and carrot shreds actually complemented this well. Árabe Empanada: This actually does remind me of some Lebanese meat pies. Except this is meatier. And the spices add a very nice kick. Probably my favorite empanada here. Ham & Cheese Empanada: About what you'd expect, ham and a bunch of cheese. Best when warm and the cheese is melty. Tasty, but nowhere near the caliber of the ham & cheese pie. Argentina Empanada: Large chunks of marinated shredded beef. Definitely the most substantial of the empanadas. This could be a meal by itself! La Española Empanada: Kinda like the árabe, but without all the spices. It was ok. Flan: I like that they gave me a lot of that brown flan juice. The flan itself was great, jiggly and eggy. But it was even better floating in a spoonful of the sweet syrup. Also, for good measure, they added a dollop of dulce de leche. That also worked well with the flan.

Yelp
Great meal and a really welcoming atmosphere. I received a new dish with pistachios and a fit plate with avocado. Fantastic. Many thanks

Yelp
Came here for breakfast while visiting Miami. The place is super cute and the service was great. We got some coffee and breakfast eggs and really enjoyed it The beef empanadas here are SO good!

Yelp
While strolling on the coldest day in Miami looking for a cappuccino and hot chocolate to keep us warm, we found this neighborhood Argentina foodie gem. Oh my, homemade pastries, croissants, Spanish style egg tortilla/quiche within a cozy setting. Plenty of empanada varieties too. We sat outside in the wind on their sidewalk seating since the dogs were with us and savored our hot drinks with an assortment of pastries. Hubby enjoyed his chicken empanada. We the selected onion and cheese variety to take home. Also, I couldn't resist the lovely homemade Alfajore cookie to take away too . Friendly staff and my Spanglish skills came in handy! :) Oh, free pastry with Yelp , gracias! Support these local gems!

Yelp
Located on Lincoln Rd closer to Alton Rd. This lil place is awesome and perfect for a small bite. We wanted an appetizer as we walked back towards our hotel so we stopped here and tried their Beef & La Argentina Empanadas served warm, both were sooo good. They also have pastries, breakfast, coffee, beer, cocktails, pasta, salads & more. Staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. We will return here to try more menu items.

Yelp
Great food and quick service! Just what is needed for a quick pick me up! The shop is cute too!

Yelp
COCKROACHES COCKROACHES COCKROACHES inside the food. Inside the empanadas and inside the to go containers. I called and talked with the owner, "Karen" or something like that, and she laughed at me and hang up the phone multiple times laughing and making fun of me. All food to the garbage and no refund made for their part. I'm gonna have to talk with my bank to cancel the transaction.
google avatar

Yelp
I am a sucker for the Argentine style of Empanadas. Much flakier and less greasy than their fried counterparts. The empanadas are great here- can't speak on anything else since I haven't tried.

Yelp
I stopped by for a light lunch snack. Outside there was no seating, it was so busy. It felt very French actually even it's not a French bakery. I didn't want to sit inside so desired to get the mushroom empanada for on the go. It was really good.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little bistro. I stopped for a quick bite. Got a dulce de Leche and a beef empanadas to go. Cannoli was a puff pastry filled with Dulce de leche. Or early the typical cannoli but was still good. Beef empanada was ok too. Want to give it another shot for sure. The servers were so very sweet and helpful.
google avatar

Joshua R.

Yelp
Great place to sit outside and enjoy any meal. Gets a bit busy but other than that the food was good and you can't get much of a better location.
google avatar

Yelp
Really delicious food at this really adorable place! It was a part of my food tour and we learned they offer Argentine Cuisine. We all got to share empanadas and they were most excellently prepared! It was delicious and the atmosphere was cute. It's small but they have indoor and outdoor seating and it's just a really cute place. Great service and would definitely return to sample all of the multiple different types of food they have!

Yelp
This place had a lot of potential to be a cute breakfast bakery spot. Unfortunately, the food fell very short. We started out with some coffee and orange juice. The orange juice was good and fresh. The coffee was disgusting. I got a latte and it had a weird after taste, something plastic. I tried the cappuccino an it also had the same taste! I couldn't finish it. I just can't believe a restaurant can serve coffee like that. The food was eh. We had the breakfast sandwich and olimpia croissant. The croissant didn't taste that fresh, more like a Costco croissant. Just all the ingredients were kind of old. And the breakfast sandwich was very simple and kind of sad looking for $14. The Nutella croissant on the other hand was delicious. Much more fresh. We tried some of the pastries too and they were good. Do not get the breakfast potatoes. They taste super fried and like they came from a bag in the frozen section at Publix. I would skip this place. Super cute but not good.

Yelp
I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken it was phenomenal. A nice glass of Pinot Grigio to go with my yummy pasta. They also had a great variety of pastries and sweets inside that you can take home or eat there. The service was good and the ambience was casual and private I think.

Gerardo V.

Yelp
Check your bill! When I went recently, I wasn't given a paper check, and the waiter had added a service charge without telling me. (I used to eat here often, and in my experience, they've never added a service charge before.) Not knowing, I gave an additional 20% tip. I've been trying for months to get a refund, but the owner (Carina) won't return my messages and refuses to speak to me.
google avatar

Brett V.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and have tried to love this place but they are charging way to high prices. Almost $16 for 2 eggs and tiny portion of potatoes is way too much to get repetitive local customers. Just another tourist trap.
google avatar

Francesca C.

Yelp
Cutest little spot on the other end of Lincoln Road that I crave every now and then. Their facturas are perfect for a Sunday morning breakfast. Forget brunch, their facturas or ham, eggs and cheese croissant and a cup of cappuccino, will be your weekend's highlight! Remember to tip your servers! @francescaMusica

Yelp
No, just no First off who doesn't and won't serve iced tea in Miami? Who? Then, I asked for apple juice- We no have Then, I asked for the oj- We only have enough for mimosa Really? Gee wonder why! Service is horrible Portions are small and they charge you for things that are supposedly included, such as the egg on the steak sandwich-which by the way, the only good part is the bread The avocado toast was one thin slice of bread with an oniony guacamole spread- And a few wilted pieces of lettuce on a plate The place tries and is cute enough but don't eat, unless tug are getting some pastry and coffee Worst money spent in a long time

Yelp
We run into this place by accident. We had movie tickets and a short time to eat before the movie started. We noticed this place had empanadas, so we thought it would a good and quick dinner. However, when we got the menu, we found out a lot more of other possibilities that we could choose. They have small plates, tapas-like, and regular entrees. The restaurant is located in a small corner, but it has inside and outside sitting. The service was fast and precise, and the server very attentive. The wine and beer options are a few with local and international brands. The prices are not over the top, but a little bit above average due to that are of the city. Anyhow, we loved it and is our spot now before going to the movies.
google avatar

Gabriel P.

Yelp
Good service BUT no server either outside or inside was wearing a mask. Inside the place was packed and no one was wearing a mask. Forget about social distancing I won't come back as long as they do not have servers wear masks

Yelp
This review is simply based off of the pastries and empanadas. I came in here to just check it out and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and price. The empanadas are $3 each, which is relatively priced for Miami, and they had about 6 different varieties to choose from. I ordered a corn and a beef. Inside the corn empanada was cheese, cream and sweet corn, in a homemade pastry shell, which was very delicious and unique. The beef was good but not the best beef beef empanada I've had in Miami. I would deff come back to get the sweet corn empanada. They also have a pastry station in the back that is constantly pumping out fresh homemade pastries, including cream filled croissants, butter croissants, donut type pastries and other various pastries, for $1 each. I love how they have this set up. You go in the back, grab a basket, pick what you want and then you bring your basket to the front for check out. They were all delicious! I'll be back!

Yelp
Quaint little corner place. Great vibe for a relaxing breakfast coffee or lunch. Btw. They have wine as well.

Yelp
I was in a very desperate search for wifi somewhere near Lincoln Road. My trusty Yelp iPhone app came in handy and led me to Panizza. I found a tiny table to set-up shop inside and was quickly waited upon. Before I decided on what I wanted to nosh on while working, I got a good look at the empanadas, pies and montaditos. It all looked too good! I ended up ordering a chicken empanada, cortadito and grabbed a dulce de leche factura from the pastry bar. My chicken empanada was served very hot but once it cooled down, I took a bite and it was delicious. My choice of factura tasted fresh and left me wanting to try even more. Not wanting to go crazy early in the morning, I fought the urge. All in all, not a bad breakfast for five bucks. I hung out here for a good couple hours and the waiters didn't seem to mind. They kept coming by asking if I wanted something more which was thoughtful. It was a great place to do some work although not the kind of spot you want to try if you like to do your work in silence. Instead, this place is abuzz with groups of different people chatting over delicious Argentinian fare. I personally like getting things done in environments like this so the next time I find myself in need, Panizza will be my choice.

Yelp
A customer of mine recommended this place for desserts. I was one block away. Got there, was greeted by a nice staff. Bought some deserts and coffee. It all was very good. I recommend them. I'll be back...

Yelp
We were on our way to see a movie at the Regal South Beach which is only a few blocks away from Panizza Bistro. I was craving pizza and the restaurant we'd planned to go on Alton had closed, so we decided to try this place When we arrived we went inside and asked to see a menu, were both were happy with it and then it turned awkward, as the staff just kind of stood there looking at us, but didn't offer to seat us or show us to a table, prompting me to shrug and say "Um, so we just sit anywhere?". Service was decent after that. We each ordered a beer and asked for water for the table. I ordered a pizza and my partner a salad. Both of us were happy with our food, but to be honest, we were surprised at how long it took them to prepare it after we placed our order. Neither the pizza or salad were anything complicated, yet it felt like we waited at least 20 minutes or more between the time we ordered until our food was delivered, and I think there was only 1 other table with patrons when we arrived. Pricing was fair, but I'm not sure I was impressed enough by this place to return, especially with so many other good restaurants in this general area to choose from.

Yelp
Awesome breakfast spot, the decor is so classic and dainty! Coffee, quiche, omelette, toasted bread can't say enough they were all so good! This is a def win! Trust me this is a must!

Yelp
UNBELIEVABLY GREAT!! My wife and I wish we could live here. Seriously - the owner is a strong woman named Carrina - who knows how to run a restaurant! Every single item is great here. I am not exaggerating. I used to work as a chef (Sheraton Hotels). The tappas, the empanadas, the quick egg breakfasts, at dinner the entrees are FANTASTIC! Nothing beats this place - and the espresso drinks are heavenly. 5 star - no joke.

Yelp
I have been coming here for 15 years. Love the pastries and lomito sandwich and the charming atmosphere. Recommend this place for fresh Argentinian breakfast, brunch or lunch. Service has never been outstanding. A pity because I think that would make it an make better experience.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Great little spot. I'm usually not a fan of Argentinian empanadas but they were delicious here. Also tried the tomato bread with Serrano, which was incredibly tasty. All in all an excellent spot for a bite!

Yelp
Great find. Empanadas we're Divine. Local inexpensive hangout. Much better than the tourist traps

Yelp
I come every morning for my breakfast. The service is excellent. Every morning you meet Valentina Maria and Cristina who are really good. The coffee is good. They have a cute terrace outside. You can come for coffee or glass of Prosecco or pastry or breakfast.

Yelp
I was exploring Miami Beach with a friend when we stumbled upon this place. We had just finished dinner nearby and were looking for a quick drink. We saw the chalk board outside of this place with $4 glasses of wine for happy hour and decide to check it out. We both got a glass of wine and after we were done decided to look at the menu. We decided to get some cappuccinos and split a slice of the ricotta cake. The ricotta cake was excellent. The cappuccino was one of the best cappuccinos I've ever had. I dont know what they did to make it so good, but it was incredible. The rest of the stuff on the menu sounded very good, but having just eaten beforehand we were too full. I'd recommend checking this place out. Next time I am in Miami Beach I'll be stopping by for another cappuccino and ricotta cake.

Yelp
Num! This place wasn't busy on cinco de mayo while all other places were jammed packed. We stopped in and took the gamble and glad we did! No lines! Super awesome service! Empanadas were so nummy and potato fries were exceptional!

Yelp
I needed catering for a last minute party. I called Panizza and they were able to put together a menu for a party of 20. I had them suggest a menu for tweens as they can be picky eaters. They suggested pastas, mini empanadas and ham and cheese sandwiches. The order was ready on time! The food was delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous. Great location on Lincoln Road that is easily accessible! Best empanadas in Miami! I will be using them in the future for my catering needs.

Jenny M.

Yelp
The inside is really cute and the pastries are good. Service sucks, we had to keep asking our waitress to refill our (tiny) cups of water. They messed up my order but I didn't want to make a fuss. The goat cheese croquettes were awful, I asked if they could remove it from the bill because we only took one (1) bite. The waitress looked pained when I asked, although I made no comment about the service or mix up. It was the least they could do and even still, I told her to forget it as she was fidgeting with the tablet to remove them off the bill....
google avatar

Paola B.

Yelp
A quaint little restaurant, has wonderful outside seating to enjoy the breeze later in the afternoon. Their sangria is to die for - it's only $10 and it's literally one of the best sangrias i've had. Only 4 stars because the empanadas were not our favorite, but that's okay because the sangria is great. Will definitely be coming back to this place!
google avatar

Yelp
Quaint little place close to Lincoln Dr. Vlose to our condo. Quiches, empanadas, fresh sandwhiches. All looks great. Coffee is delicious. Ordered cafe con leche. Had mushroom and ricotta empanada as well as mushroom w cheese. Very delicious. They have nice selection of pastries also. All fresh

Yelp
AMAZING! This word sums up the place, the staff and the mouth watering food from Spain, Italy and Argentina; not to mention best coffee I've had in a years!!! This place is a must! Lots of regulars and after stopping by it's easy to understand why! I'm officially obsessed with this place and it's cool vibe!
