I tried the catfish, fried chicken, turnip greens, Mac and cheese, yams, rice and gravy and the creamed corn. All were top tier and the price was reasonable for the amount of food I received. I will definitely return.

This restaurant is located within the Legacy Museum venue. It is nicely appointed. A variety of food options are available cafeteria style. I opted for the meatloaf and it was excellent. Prices are reasonable and there is plenty of seating. In planning your visit be sure to check their hours.

The food here was a big disappointment. The fish was cold and tough, the rice and gravy were tasteless, and the yams were tasty but extra thick and chewy. Service was slow, but I think they may have been short-staffed.

The service was great' The food items taste like typical cafeteria style 'southern food'. It's not definitely not soul food and greatly reminds me of a Morrison's or Piccadilly. Lastly the price point was rather affordable. On another note I mainly went there because if the legacy museum. It was so immense which I love and I plan on coming back to the exhibit that was closed this past Sunday. The museum is only two hours away from me so more than likely be back Wednesday❤️

It was a good southern cooked meal for a cafeteria style restaurant. This location is at The Legacy Museum. It really does enhance the whole experience. I totally recommend dining here after you've been through the museum exhibits and prior to heading out on the shuttle to the memorial site. It's a great way to recharge in between visits. I originally wanted fried catfish, but they didn't have it available that day. The servers behind the hot plates were very helpful in identifying what was there. The person in front of me asked if the dish in front of us was burger steak. It was an easy decision after that. That's exactly what I wanted. The nice gentleman behind the counter came over to make sure that burger steak was served properly with all the onions and brown gravy. It ended up being the highlight of my meal. I also selected mac & cheese and sweet potato casserole for my 2 sides (1 meat & 2 veggie plate). The cornbread was recommended over the roll. It was all good, with the exception of the sweet potato. Not that there was anything bad with it. I just don't care for molasses, and this particular recipe was heavy on molasses. If you're a fan of sticky & sweet molasses, then this casserole is for you. Other than that, it was a quick & comforting meal. We were so hungry after spending 3 hours going through The Legacy Museum. This meal hit the spot for us. The restaurant was clean, open, and bright. The booth seating was comfortable. Was it the best southern meal I've ever had? Not really, but it was still pretty good. I'd go back again. Hopefully they will still have that burger steak on the menu. It really was juicy and delicious.

I’m baffled because this restaurant is inside of a slave museum. Representing black food culture, and is so far from it. I took my mom to this restaurant on her eighty first birthday and was disgusted. My family ordered the same thing except my niece, which was fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. The skin of the chicken was the only part f the chicken that was good. The mashed potatoes had this weird clumps of white stuff in it and onion chunks. The green beans taste like they were cooked in blue magic hair grease and water. My niece ordered the Salisbury steak which was burnt on the side that was facing down so no she didn’t know it was burnt until she put it in her mouth. The staff was arguing amongst themselves but in front of all of the customers. I can honestly say my family was disappointed.

"Absolutely phenomenal experience at Pannie-George Soul Food Restaurant! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The collard greens, fried chicken, fried fish, and macaroni and cheese were nothing short of exceptional - truly authentic Southern down-home cooking at its finest! Lots of Vegetables if you don’t eat meat. What's more, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, from management to the team, making us feel right at home. Knowing it's a black-owned establishment adds even more value to the experience. Plus, the affordability is unbeatable. Highly recommend for anyone craving delicious, soulful cuisine!" The owner Mrs. Pannie still works at one of the locations. Would love to meet her next time I’m in town. I even meet new friends while sitting & dining alone. Great wonderful place.

I met family members at Pannie-George for lunch. The food was excellent! It is southern soul food. The Blackberry cobbler is the best I've tasted since my grandmother's. This kitchen is cafeteria style. It is located at the Legacy Museum.
