This is a very nice hotel providing accommodation that allows quests to either use the hotel’s restaurant, eat out or cater for yourself. We choose to eat out and there are many restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel is in the theatre district and tend to close early having catered for theatre goers. |Reception staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and requests are dealt with extremely quickly. |Thank you for our upgrade which surprised us as we hadn’t been told on arrival and the room was not what we expected.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the Pantages Hotel Downtown Toronto, and what really made it memorable was our interaction with Paul at the front desk. From the moment we checked in, Paul stood out with his incredibly cheerful attitude, warm smile, and genuine professionalism. It’s not often that someone at check-in leaves such a lasting impression, but Paul truly made us feel welcome and valued. Over our two-day stay, he consistently greeted us with the same positive energy every time we passed through the lobby. He was a big part of what made our experience so enjoyable. I also want to acknowledge the two ladies at the front desk—although I didn’t catch their names, they were also very polite and courteous. The room was spotless, the service was top-notch, and the overall atmosphere was great. Thanks to Paul, this hotel will definitely be our go-to spot whenever we visit Toronto. Highly recommend!

Room was amazing and amenities were also perfect . Staff were just exceptional. They were kind and professional. First time our stay was two days but we decided to extend one more night. Pella gave us an opportunity to upgrade. Not only for this point her attitude was amazing. She loves her job. She knows how to make guests comfortable. Thank you for everything. If we have a chance we want to stay again. See you soon

I had such a great experience at Pantages Hotel! The location is perfect, the rooms are clean and modern, but what really stood out was the front desk service. Pella and Paul were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. They made me feel at home and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. Big thanks to both of them — I’ll definitely be back!

Positive: The room was quite spacious and had plenty closet space. There were two TVs in the room with a sofa as well. The washroom was nice and well equipped with everything that I needed. Negative: It was a tad bit pricey.

I stayed one night at the hotel. I can recommend it, my room was on the last floor with a nice view. In the evening I could get a pan to make myself a tea (there's coffee in the room but I didn't taste it). The breakfast is good, I couldn't use the fitness room. The hotel is really quiet and I really appreciated the very central location in the city as the possibility to leave my luggage on the next day to look around. Last but not least there is a small business room if you need to work a bit after check out. Colene at the reception was really nice and helpful. I will come again!

The location of Pantages is first of all perfect. An easy walk to Eaton Centre, a ball game, the aquarium, and the CN tower. If you need to go further just hop on a subway which is also near by. This is the second time staying a Pantages, the first time with my husband and the second time with my daughter. Both were fitting with the hotel. Both times Pella checked us and such a lovely warm welcome - I remembered her immediately from the first time. Rooms are spacious, clean and cozy. Room for food and drinks in the fridge. Will be returning, it is our favourite for downtown Toronto.

Our experience at the Pantages Hotel was truly exceptional. The location is absolutely perfect, offering easy access to everything you could need. The suite we stayed in was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed. It made our stay feel like a luxurious escape. The food was outstanding, and every meal exceeded our expectations! A special thank you to Honey for going above and beyond to make our anniversary stay even more memorable. She surprised us with a beautiful cake that added a personal touch to our celebration. A heartfelt thank you to Colene and Diane for always greeting us with a warm smile and making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Overall, this was by far one of the best experiences we’ve had. We can’t wait to return!

Yelp
The Pantages Hotel is a boutique hotel conveniently located in the Theatre District, with close proximity to the Eatons Centre, public transit and many downtown attractions. Service was efficient and friendly, the hotel and our room was very clean, albeit the room's furnishings were somewhat dated. The shower looked excellent, but the lack of water pressure was disappointing. We enjoyed our breakfast in the restaurant, as the menu had diverse offerings to suit every appetite. The coffee, however, was bitter and disappointing, tasting just like a standard cup of motel coffee, or what you can make from the erstwhile coffee machine in your room: bitter and not pleasant. I love a strong cup of coffee, but this was not it, and I switched to tea after my first cup of coffee. Honestly, for a relatively high end boutique hotel in downtown Toronto, I would have expected a decent cup of coffee. If you are travelling by car, it is not very convenient to parking. We had to walk a long block from the nearest parking in -13 degree freezing weather, over icy streets. Despite this, we were conveniently located to the restaurant and show that we were seeing, and had a good night's sleep in the comfy bed. Too bad about the coffee, and due to the lack of parking, possibly not the best choice if you are travelling by car.

Yelp
Great location. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great size. We really liked our stay! Good value for the price!!

Yelp
A few things to know: Fantastic location - perfect walking distance to many attractions/activities Not car friendly - No onsite parking/no valet parking/no designated loading zone. The hotel directs you to a parking garage that we needed to walk to in the rain and the garage stairs were occupied by a homeless person randomly spitting. Charming. Housekeeping - No housekeeping service unless you request. Don't assume your room will be cleaned. It won't be unless you make a specific request. In most places, not typically a big deal but the Pantages is stingy with towels and provides exactly two coffee mugs and two drinking glasses. That's it (despite advertising that rooms have kitchenettes). Kitchenettes have no kitchen supplies. None. No dishes, no utensils, no dish soap. Just your two coffee mugs and two drinking glasses. I didn't check ownership of the Pantages. Perhaps they are accustomed to a scenario in which the entire family shares one coffee mug. Passed down through generations. I don't know but the hotel's stinginess doesn't equate to "sophistication".

Yelp
Very quiet hotel. Not in the best part of the city but rooms are huge and clean. Very close to mall shopping and resteraunts.

Yelp
There were four of us sharing a room for three nights. It was $1100. There were no blankets - this was the middle of October. There was one towel, no ice cube trays, no place to put garbage other than a plastic bag we had, the main toilet was clogged!!!!! There was no light by the two beds. The parking was horrible. I guess in Toronto if you pay $1100 you are not to expect a working toilet, a blanket to cover yourself, or a towel to dry yourself. If you make reservations here, ask if you should bring your own necessities. Best of luck.

Yelp
Four star room, one star experience. You ready to schlep and sweat like you're in a 3rd world country? First you get to park your own car for $70 a night. Harrowing experience. No one even tipped me. Zero help checking in. Huffed a full luggage cart through narrow hallways. Already sweating now. Then room was 81 Fahrenheit when we got in (that's 27 Celsius if you're fancy.). What kind of monster hotel manager has the temp set to sweltering when a guest arrives? If I'm going to sweat this much I want giraffes walking past my window in the morning. No luggage stands in the room either, so if you have a modern suitcase you're obliged to put it in the ground. Not classy. Then? When the AC finally kicked on, it smells like old McDonalds fries. Yuck. On the positive side, the room is spacious and the views are pretty. If management and service was improved A LOT this property could aspire to luxury.

Yelp
Beware.......I hosted a meeting here for my staff / team and I was one of three people whom had items of various description go missing from my room during my stay. I asked the staff to inquire with housekeeping but heard nothing upon check-out. Despite numerous calls to the front desk, the management team including the General Manager, I have had no response of any kind. Any messages left with "lost and found" went without response. Both of my colleagues who had items taken from their room have stopped in to the hotel to speak with the General Manager, but to no avail as he seems to perpetually be "in a meeting". Do not stay here, find one of many other great options in the area.

Yelp
Would give no stars if that was an option. Where to start- how dirty the entire place is, the room that looked nothing like the website pictures, the torn up carpet in the dark dingy halls with wallpaper hanging off- all of it! To top it all off extremely rude front desk staff. This place is appalling. STAY AWAY! Didn't stay. Checked out immediately when I saw how bad the room was.

Yelp
Stayed here for four nights, booked through hotels tonight mobile app. Great, great location in the heart of downtown close to everything. Dundas square, chinatown, museums, rogers arena and the CN Tower are all within a few blocks walk or short subway ride. Housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient providing extra requests. The rooms are nice like a condo with a kitchen and washer and dryer, dishes are provided. When checking out they granted a late check out when returning the keys at 1215 the agent Pella was not helpful and said i would be charged $25 for not being out of the room. Having working in hotels I know thats a complete lie she just did not want to remove the posting. Bad attitude and customer service but rest of the staff encountered were friendly.

Yelp
Meh. I actually live in Toronto but once in a while I stay at a hotel for a couple of days to relax away from my place (lockdown fever) and get some work done. The room I got was quite nice -- based on the room alone I would give 3-4 stars. But the grout in the shower is dirty -- a pet peeve of mine, I admit -- and the shower, which is a great rainfall shower, was impossible to completely turn off, so dripped and drove me a bit crazy. (Yes I could have gotten someone in to fix but I only stayed for two nights and couldn't be bothered.). TV was really bad quality -- picture was dark and grainy. The lounge/resto is closed due to Covid (Aug 2021) so no room service, and the staff were quite unpleasant about letting delivery people come up. Of the three front desk staff I dealt with, two were quite unpleasant, and one was lovely. Location would be great for tourists, for sure. I got a great deal online, but I really wouldn't come back and pay their full price.

Yelp
The Pantages Hotel is small and boutique. I found it okay if you're just staying overnight for a few days or so. Room: 2.5/5 - Spacious, but a bit older and dirty I liked how the room was fairly large, we had a kitchen sink, fridge, bar table, little couches, washing machine/dryer, a vanity table, TV and the works. Unfortunately, when we looked closer, the flooring and washroom tiles were worn down. It looked like water damage (see photo). It felt more like we were staying in an older condo building. Service: 2/5 - Needs improvement They were understaffed that night. We asked for slippers and toothbrushes, but didn't receive them until 3 hours later. Cost: 4/5 - Decent Pricing was around $150 for the night, my partner found an online special. Location: 5/5 - Excellent (across the Eaton Centre) Yonge and Dundas! Everything touristy is steps away. Overall, it wasn't the best hotel experience - but it was decent. A 3-Star Hotel at most, nothing luxurious here. Tip: If you're on a food budget, you can find cheaper breakfast places nearby at Fran's (downstairs), in the Eaton Centre, McDonald's, Tim Horton's, etc.

Yelp
First time here and I really enjoyed my time. The bartender in the lobby (I really wish I remembered his name. He was working Feb. 17 around 5:30pm) was awesome--great in making conversation and overall super friendly. I had the Island Girl drink (two of them actually) and it was so delicious. As for my room, it was modernly decorated and clean. It had a fridge, washer and dryer, water (for a charge), and other typical toiletries you'd find at a hotel. I also love that it was very spacious with a long hallway inside. The location of the hotel is perfect! Literally right across the street from Eatons, Massey Hall, Frans, etc., and in very close proximity to St. Mikes, Dundas and Queen stations, the movie theatre, Dundas Sq., and other useful places. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and the service (especially the bartender) and would consider this hotel as an option for future stays downtown.

Yelp
Solid hotel for price/location. Terrible hotel for business travelers. I stayed here last week for a business trip and was horrified by the hallway, but pleasantly surprised by the room. My main issue - internet. I was traveling from the states and was relying heavily on the internet for access to email and after a long day streaming. However I was unable to use their internet both nights. After a long day of traveling and another one of working a convention I wanted to unwind and stream netflix however that wasn't possible. BOTH NIGHTS. The internet was barely strong enough to check my email the next morning. The room was newly upgraded, albeit with a full bed, the bathroom was nice and the bar/restaurant area acceptable.

Yelp
In a few words, is one of the worst hotel I ever visit in Toronto. They say is a 4 star hotel, but the only reason why I put one star is for the people at the lobby. They are friendly, otherwise the hotel doesn't deserve any star. I made a reservation for a double bed. They just give a simple bed. The walls are destroy, the door in the bathroom it doesn't close properly. They say fre wifi and as soon as you arrive, you have to pay for it. There are many other better option around for a similar price.

Yelp
I had the worst experience at this hotel right from check in. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude, and treated me as if I was there to destroy the hotel. From the very beginning, she kept saying that young people ruin everything and threatened me that she would charge a fee for having guests over even though I can have two guess without any problem. She proceeded to look at my ID for a good 2 minutes in a very obvious and weird way to try to make me feel uncomfortable. This is the worst customer service I have received, period. I will speak to the manager because the lady at the front clearly discriminates against young students.

Daniel S.

Yelp
The hotel was worth the money. Location is just blocks from two metro station, Eaton Centre is at your finger tip. The hotel staff was able to make my stay in Toronto a great success. The rooms are simple with elegant touches.

Yelp
We visited this hotel last weekend. It was advised as a four-star hotel but when we go there, it was more like a dorm-style studio with a kitchenette. The room is out-dated and the bathroom didn't look very clean. When we were ready to go to bed, we realized the bed sheets were not changed. They were stained with hair all over. When we complained to the front desk, we were told it had to do with the laundry company. We could tell that they never changed the sheets. After an hour of waiting, they finally sent someone (who was helpful) to come and changed to new sheets. Our kids had to wait for 1.5 hr and couldn't go to bed because of this. When we asked to talk to the manager the next morning, they said they will have the manager call us the following week. We sent the manager an email with the pictures but we go no reply for the past week. Apparently they didn't want to deal with this issue. This is not totally acceptable and we have to warn people not to go to this hotel.

Ethan P.

Yelp
We booked two queen beds and they gave us a pullout and a queen, they asked us if we needed linens for the pullout 7 hours later no linens. we go to the front desk to get the linens and he said it was too much for him to deal with and walked away

Yelp
I am APPALLED at the treatment I and a friend of mine were given by the SECURITY GUARD. Now I now it was nuit blanche, however my friend and I were nothing but coherent and polite. We entered the hotel lobby, wanting to ask if we could enter the restaurant Stages. The security guard, who clearly didn't understand English probably, just kept saying "leave! This is a hotel. The restaurant is around the corner. Go now" If the gentleman didn't know, couldn't he have just directed us to the lobby concierge? Around the corner is Fran's restaurant and believe me my friend I looked for any OBVIOUS ENTRY TO THE hotel RESTAURANT. The security guard kept loudly saying" I don't have time. Go now".  Especially considering how historic this hotel is to Toronto's history? This encounter was shameful. Then the front desk staff had the audacity to email back that the security card was " doing his job" stopping people off the street from hanging out in the hotel lobby. Wow.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday event called the Mixed up relay. You can find it in their lists of corporate events! You get a private room and your own bartender who teaches you how to make 1 cocktail, 1 shooter, and 1 martini. You get into teams and compete to see who can make the fastest and most delicious drink! Very fun concept, our bartender Mark/Marcus(?) was very humorous, laid back, and was able to handle our loud drunken group! :D It ranges from $50-$60 depending on group size. We had 15 people and each person paid $55. The process to set everything up was done via email and was very quick. A lot of confirmation and was professional. Would try the other events for sure!

Yelp
Awful construction noises, possibly coming from the suite above. They should not be putting customers up in rooms with these noise problems. Never had an experience like this in a hotel and never going back. Why they would be doing this when hotel guests are trying to sleep is beyond me.
google avatar

Juliette L.

Yelp
VERY LOUD drilling noises early in the morning. If you want a good night of rest this is NOT the place. Sounded like they were doing construction in the room next door.

Yelp
Solidly good, but not exceptional. The best thing about Pantages is it's location. It's central to subways, a variety of restaurants, a mall, drugstores, etc. The neighborhood was very quiet despite a hospital being located across the street. The hotel goes for hip, chic and boutique but just misses the mark. Our room had some great loft like amenities that included 2 mirrored costs, a washing machine, a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, vanity table, and bar table with stools. However, everything was packed into a standard sized room, making it feel crowded. The hotel provides cheap quality kleenex and toilet paper and no paper towels for the kitchen, but provides a complimentary bathrobe. The internet, detergent for the washer, and water were all additional charges. The only breakfast offered is an "enhanced" continental breakfast for a fee. Parking is both very limited and expensive at $40 per day. All in all, it's not a bad place to spend a few days.

Liam D.

Yelp
Stay here if you want to be annoyed by constant drilling as you sleep and fire alarms. No, it's not construction coming from the street, it's from inside the building! This is no way to run a hotel. Check out time is 11 but they start doing construction at 9. What kind of idiots allow this to happen?

Yelp
I just left Pantages and it has been awhile but what a great time. Alex in their lounge is a gem - great music, fun banter, great charcuterie- I am so coming back!!!! Thanks for the fun evening :)

Yelp
*2.5 Stars* My boyfriend booked this hotel mostly because of the convenient location (right across from Eaton Centre) and their spa amenities. Hence, we went in being pretty excited to check out the sauna in the Rainforest Relaxation Room to relax and recharge a bit after dinner. Everything looked pretty promising at the beginning. The staff at the front desk were inviting and accommodating, and our room was clean and spacious. I especially appreciated the wooden floors. However, the bathrobes that were supposed to be in our room were not there. The sauna closes at 7PM and since check in time was 3PM we have maximum 4 hours to use it since it opens at 12PM the next morning, which is the check out time. My boyfriend went down to the front desk to tell them and they said the bathrobes would be brought up to us. We waited for around an hour and then decided to grab dinner quickly to bring back to the hotel to eat. When we came back, still no bathrobe. We decided to just not go cause we wouldn't have much time left anyway. Long story short, great room, but really disappointed we missed our chance to go to the sauna.

Yelp
This hotel was perfect for us. We stayed for 4 nights and got a great deal because we booked through a third party site. The location was convenient and middle ground to everything, all Uber rides were less than 10 bucks. I loved that these were like little studios with a kitchenette and in-room laundry. We had been traveling for a while so by the time we got to Toronto we needed to do some laundry so it was super convenient. Also, we like to have snacks and stuff so the fridge and appliances were a plus. I got the WiFi password when we checked in and had misplaced it so I called down to ask for it. The lady told me some bs about how we had to pay for WiFi because we booked from a third party. I told her that was not true because I was given it as I checked in. She was a little rude about it and I just hung up. Otherwise I would've given this place 5 stars.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
I recently attended a conference at this hotel and had phenomenal service throughout my stay. They recommended places to visit and places to eat nearby, providing great directions. A colleague forgot her toothbrush and they had some for free at the front desk. They always seemed to go out of their way. I stayed in a junior suite. The room was spacious, clean and modern. The hotel had free WiFi everywhere too (I had read the opposite in previous reviews). Bonus: no carpet in the room!

Yelp
I think the true test of a good hotel is, 1) would you come back, and 2) if someone you know asks for a hotel recommendation, would you recommend this place? In Pantage's case, I cannot say yes to either. When a hotel raises your expectations and represents itself to be a 4 star hotel, I think it's reasonable to expect a 4 star experience. But, well, it just wasn't 4 stars for me. First of all, this place nickels and dimes you. It's $12 extra for internet access in your room (in this day and age!). It's $3.00 minimum to use the internet at their business center, and then they charge you $0.50 per minute thereafter. (Yeah, if you hop on really quick and check your e-mail, you might end up spending like $4.00.) Bottled water is not complimentary. The list goes on and on. I've received more generosity and hospitality at a Motel 6. Second of all, maybe we just had really bad luck with the front door staff, but they weren't very friendly to us. We asked for directions to a local university (the ONLY university within a 5 mile radius), and got a downright hostile response ("Where's that?!? I don't know what you are talking about...") Good lord, we're from out of town - shouldn't you know where the local landmarks are? After that, we stuck with asking for directions with cabbies, and the doorman, who was a nice guy. To be fair, the sheets were very clean. I liked the hardwood floors. But our room just was not "4 stars"... overall, the room was okay, but little details were not good... the vents in the bathroom above were rusty, the furniture was scruffed up, the paint was definitely peeling here and there... and I agree with the below reviewer, the water took a long time to warm up. This place is very central, and the rates are okay for that part of town. So if you want some place central, this is a decent place. But, ultimately, you gotta compare apples to apples. In other words, I'm not comparing this place to a Best Western - I'm comparing it to OTHER 4 star boutique hotels in major cities around the world. My reaction to Pantages is a surprise even to me because I'm pretty easily impressed (look at my other reviews, I'm handing out 4 star/5 star reviews everywhere I go!), but I just can't do it here.

Yelp
I cannot believe my experience here. I had to actually write to the general manager as his staff were incompetent, insulting and extremely condescending. Here's a story for you: I booked a boutique suite through Travel Sensations valued at $309.00 for 4 guests. I have documentation for this reservation. Upon arrival, I was asked to sign some waivers and was informed that my reservation was correct for the amount and for 4 guests. The woman pointed out that any additional guest(s) will have an extra charge of $50/person. I explained to her that my reservations include the 4 guests so there should not be any additional costs. She clarified it for the second time that the reservation was for 4 guests. Next morning, at the time of checkout I spoke to a gentleman named Ibrahim who surprised me with an amount of $409.00 for the rate of the room. He told me that I was being charged for the extra 2 guests. Astonished, I questioned this charge and all he said was, "You signed the papers". Even after presenting my reservation documents from Travel Sensations he continued to say that I had signed the papers without providing any explanation. At this point, I asked to speak to the manager. Ibrahim notified me that "Tom" was manager on duty but was unavailable as he stepped out. Furthermore to my disappointment, he was unable to tell me when Tom will be back to assist me. I asked Ibrahim to contact me when Tom immediately comes back as I am not authorizing this payment until it is settled in fairness. While waiting for Tom's call, I decided to go back after two hours. To my surprise he was back at reception. After explaining the whole matter to him including the provided documents from Travel Sensations, all he told me was "Is this your Signature?" "Well, you signed the papers," and "How much more clarification do you need?" I not only felt baffled but also belittled as his tone and language was extremely condescending and inappropriate towards any client for that matter. In addition, he stated "Personally, if it was me I would have read the papers more thoroughly". After feeling insulted, I asked for his manager's number and was presented with the General Manager's contact. After three days I finally got in contact with the General Manager (Mark) who reviewed the case. All he replied to me was "I have enclosed the adjustment to your credit card and apologize for not making this correction during your check in." I am still extremely disappointed with Pantages Hotel as it's not the $100.00 I was concerned about but rather the customer service. The staff here are disrespectful, condescending and extremely rude. Avoid this Hotel at all costs.

Yelp
I would never ever stay at this hotel in the past as the management staff of the martini bar were assholes. Yeah, I'm talking about you David, you arrogant jerk. However, I found a king room for under $200 so I decided to stay for a night and do some shopping downtown during a recent trip to Toronto. I was actually pretty impressed. I love condo slash hotels because they come with kitchens! Even if I don't use it, I like that I have the option. The bed was comfortable and I liked the furnishings. The floors were nice since they weren't carpeted and the linens were soft and fresh. It was super hot in the city and I was pleased that the AC cooled the room efficiently and kept it cool. When others say the water takes a bit long to heat up, it's true. I waited a good minute or two before hopping in. The elevator on my floor didn't work. Well, the down button didn't anyway. I'd have to press the up button and sometimes ride up to other floors before I could head down again. I would stay here again for $150 or less.

Yelp
Oh my gosh!!!! It is 9am and without warning and anything they started the construction in the floor above us! This is ridiculous, I called to the receptionist and they say by law they can start working Since 9am to some more hours, this is the worst experience ever!!!!!! Tooooooo noisy, and if you come to this hotel don't take the floor 11 this is terrible. They should avoid to give this room if they know about the construction.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a birthday party. The ambiance was very nice (hence the extra second star), they even had a live pianist. Unfortunately, my experience was not that great. The waitress was attentive and she was always present in the room to take orders but she "helped" some customers more than others. I don't know on what basis, she was very direct is telling you that a specific drink was bad and you should order something else but she did it only for some of us. Cocktails and Martinis were very bad, they had no clear taste and it was impossible to taste the alcoholic component of the drink. My first drink was a modified version of a Manhattan, the dominant flavor was WATER!!! the same happened for the second drink, I ordered a simple Scotch. I was expecting much more from a Martini Bar.

Yelp
Wow. I had no idea what a great and classy little place there was right in the heart of Toronto! The Pantages just does it right and with style. The best way to describe the experience is that you can feel the subtle atmosphere of the theatre still in the air. As such, there's a tiny little martini bar on the lobby with live piano, rehearsal rooms of you are of the artistic inclination, and cool colors and lighting in the common areas. A back door right onto Fran's diner is key and front desk is courteous and attentive. The room I had was large with laundry, stove, microwave, and a very comfortable bed. Great view of Massey Hall below and the city. The dedicated vanity mirror was a nice touch and makes sense for the venue. Nice little touches: they leave you a full ice tray in the freezer, coffee, a full sized fridge full of liquor, a nice bottle of wine, 15% off at the in house spa, and BATH ROBES! Any hotel that still does good robes is good in my books. Great place, ideal location, reasonable price, CLASSY, highly recommended.

Yelp
Very weak. Spent over $300 on a room that was totally misrepresented in online photos. Nothing luxurious about the rooms or the building: dingy elevators, dark hallways, low ceilings. There's no valet or parking. Totally overpriced. Find another hotel downtown.

Yelp
Worst hotel experience I have ever had. WIFI not included like the packages say, you pay $6 a night for the wifi. Washer and dryer hookup in rooms do no work, coffee pot does not work, ill-equipped dishes in the suite. Spa does not work. Jessica at the front desk was very rude while we were checking in, and was not cooperative. Parking is an absolute pain, as the hotel does not offer it, and does not even have it. Cracked floors, missing pieces, cracked sinks, not a 4-star hotel. Way overpriced for the type of treatment and "amenities" you get here.

Yelp
My work was considering holding an event here for work, so keep in mind that the Event Manager was working really hard at convincing me to book here, and I'm easily wooed. He's lovely, btw! That being said, I loved this hotel. I stayed here while working another event at the Carlu, so unfortunately I really didn't have enough time to enjoy it as I wanted, BUT the time I had there was awesome. They put me up at a stupid cheap rate in one of their fancy large rooms with kitchen, couch, etc. It was nice to have my husband join me later and just chill and watch tv. The suite itself had a definite condo feeling to it; washer and dryer in a closet, tv in both the main area and the bedroom, and modern looking décor throughout. I'm usually a fan of retro kitsch, but was definitely wooed by the cleanliness and modernness of the suite, and really the entire hotel itself. The décor throughout is fun, one of the elevators has a great red light in it that makes you feel saucy (until a family of tourists pile in!). And if you want some greasy breakfast, Frans is connected to the hotel, and then you can shop it off at the Eaton Centre down the street. Housekeeping delivered me some delicious chocolate covered strawberries, some healing rocks from the Pantages Spa and a handwritten welcome note. I felt very taken care of, and think that next time I feel like just escaping the house for a "treat-me night", I'll be shacking up at the Pantages.

Yelp
Terrible. Was expecting a Park Hyatt experience given the description, should've come to yelp first. "Four star hotel"??? This level of deception should be illegal. Was looking forward to a luxurious bath and indulgent food. Hotel room looks like someone's home. Old furniture, small tv, light in bedroom doesn't work. This might be ok for an extended stay hotel. Room service, don't get me started. Pizza gross, tastes like cardboard. Wanted to mask the awfulness w crushed pepper, marinara, hot sauce, anything-- THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY OF THOSE THINGS. How do you sell pizza and not have crushed pepper?? Mind boggling. 2 stars instead of 1 Bc the ppl are nice. Horrified that this is considered a four-star hotel. Are Canada's standards really that different from America's?

Yelp
What can I say about this hotel. We started off ok, the front staff was great and lobby inviting. We checked in with friends and made our way to our rooms. When we walked in things went south fast. We booked a deluxe king room and when we walked in there were two double beds. We called down and they stated that we were upgraded as they had booking issues. Updated is a very loose term at this hotel. We decided to just play along as we had plans and no time to deal with fighting for a room comparable to what we booked so we dropped out bags and left. Upon returning for the night the horrors that were our room became evident, mostly due to the fact that I tripped and fell because the fake wood flooring was coming apart all over the room. The cabinets doors were falling off flooring coming part dirt and stains everywhere a sink that plugged up and it goes on and on. We raised the point to the front counter the next morning and got a "oh sorry.... Here's your receipt" Stay away from this hotel at all costs. I still can't believe how horrible the room was.

Yelp
I won't ever stay in this hotel and strongly recommend everybody to stay away from it. I don't understand how the stars are given to the hotels but I'm sure that the Pantageas hotel does not deserve 2 stars or even worst the 4 stars they are supposed to have as advertised. I had a reservation for three nights, I LEFT an hour after checking in. The pillow cases were clearly dirty, the guests staying there made me feel unsafe. I was disgusted to touch anything in that hotel, due to the fact that I have the feeling that there is something else going on in that hotel. I'm warning you, this is the worst hotel and you will regret staying there.

Yelp
Do not stay here. Smells terrible. Old and weird. Feels like you're in someone else's tiny old apartment. Old bathroom design/shower not clean. I don't recommend to anyone!!

Yelp
The hotel markets itself as "high end" and luxurious, but I feel like the little details in our room were far from high end. The flooring in the room was not installed properly and as such there were gaps in the laminate, which made tripping hazards and were unsightly. The bathroom paint was already chipping and the cheap laminate furniture in our room was peeling as well. It seems like they needed to call Holmes on Homes as their sub-contractor did sub-par work. These weren't huge problems, but they definitely take this place of the running for a 4-star rating. On the upside, the in-room laundry, stove, microwave, and fridge were convenient. Someone said this was in a "quiet" part of town, but it is across the street from a hospital, so I guess it depends on what your definition of quiet is.

Yelp
The absolutely unequivocally WORST service I have received at a hotel in my entire life. My work colleague made a reservation through a 3rd party online reservation service. I ended having to take her place due to illness. The staff at check-in REFUSED to let me use the room in her place. I offered to FaceTime with he le so she could give her permission. We offered to have her sign a waiver and send a scan of her photo ID. They still refused to let me check in so out company paid for a room we could not use. The staff would not provide any assistance m, suggestions or help whatsoever. They were simply rude and dismissive. I strongly advice ever visiting this hotel.

Yelp
This hotel has the potential to be so much better than the experience I had. Its location is prime - sitting in the heart of downtown Toronto. It's right next to the Eaton Centre and is in the vicinity of restaurants that range from diner-status (Fran's) to fancy schmancy (Canoe). Moreover, it may not look like much on the outside but it's lovely on the inside. It's definitely one of the nicer hotels with pretty chandeliers, lighting, and decor. The rooms were designed elegantly, but some of the furniture, like the table looked scraped. The check-in process wasn't welcoming at all. We approached the desk and weren't even greeted. The receptionist treated us with indifference throughout it all. It was an awkward interaction to say the least. We had booked a room with a kitchenette so that we could cook some of our meals. It was perfect and exactly what we wanted. However, the kitchenette wasn't even equipped with the basic necessities. I had called up the front desk for a pot to boil some water, but they informed me they couldn't find any in the other rooms of the hotel. When I tried to insist that there must be at least one, he told me that room service was closed for the night. I think it just goes to show that the hotel may have looked the part, but it didn't measure up in hospitality for a magical experience. Be wary of all the items laid about. Almost all of them have a price-tag attached to them - even the bottles of water.

Yelp
As an Event Venue, the Pantages offers up a really modern, classy environment for speaker/dinners, buffets, all day conferences and more. The bartenders in the lobby bar do a good job at taking care of all of the guests needs- Martini night? The event or reception space is nicely laid out with enough room for a buffet or a long ballroom with a sit down dinner. There will never be enough room for 200 people, but for 100 or so for a sit down, it's great. I've been several times, and the contract for booking is ridiculously long, so be forewarned. I've also been to the spa which is Meh- Registered massage therapists who obviously aren't that into their work.

Yelp
Have stayed here quite a bit. It is nice to have Kitchenette style rooms. The problem is, when you have a stove to cook at you need Kitchen utensils. I had a Day Off and wanted to cook a nice meal, I had asked if I could have Pots, pans, etc. I came back to the room to find a little mini soup pot.. Very Disappointed. I ended up going to the Keg. The room itself was very comfortable, Some fixtures needed attention, for instance a couple of the light bulbs were blown and were not replaced making for a dark hallway. Shower light didn't work either. Front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. Due to the location, we put up with this for the sake of 2 days. Otherwise, I would have enjoyed it elsewhere.

Yelp
We prefer to stay in condo-style hotels and got an excellent government rate at the end of May. I found the reviews on TripAdvisor to be more helpful than those on Yelp. All the public spaces are modern and new but, as expected, our room needed some fixtures replaced. For example, the bathroom sink, tile, and cupboards where visibly worn. Check-in and the reception desk staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our deluxe king room was impeccably cleaned and had all the kitchen supplies that we needed. There was one mistake for the minibar but the hotel corrected in after we called. If the price, amenities, and location across from the Eaton Center are what your looking for I would recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Toronto, heard great things about this beautiful city. Unfortunately, this hotel we stayed at was a horrible experience. The customer service was horrible! We only stayed one night thankfully and left right in the morning. To start off, this hotel had a rating of 4 stars which is false! I wouldn't even give them one star. Their customer service was horrible! They tried to charge us for WiFi, a cup of coffee the next morning and a roll out bed. They said our room would comfortably fit four people which was false. We were not happy coming into the hotel, anything we tried to ask for they would try to charge us. Horrible service, never again!

Yelp
I stayed here as it was recommended for a business meeting I was attending. Room is run down and huge gouges in the floor. Bathroom is old and grimy. Room smells musty. Towels thin and few. All this for $350 a night. Construction noise everywhere. Will never stay here again.
