"Situated in the town centre just a stone’s throw from the port, this small, typical trattoria is renowned for its delicious fish and seafood, including an excellent antipasto buffet and fresh fish cooked mainly on the grill. The large outdoor area is perfect for summer dining. Informal service." - Michelin Inspector

Google
we had high expectations, having found this restaurant on the michelin guide, but we did not find it deserving of its suggestion. between 4, we ordered 2 of the mixed starters of “land and sea”. these were fine but unremarkable - the prawn curry in particular had only 2.5 prawns the size of fingertips in the entire bowl, which was shocking given that this was meant to be two portions. for mains, we ordered the grilled swordfish, steak, spaghetti al vongole, and truffle ravioli. the vongole was not available so they proposed adding monkfish to the spaghetti instead. the swordfish, completely overcooked and still swimming in water, and the rubbery and watery steak arrived first, after which we had to wait another 5 minutes on the table for the other 2 mains to arrive, by which time the first dishes were cold. the fish accompaniment to the spaghetti was slopped onto the plate with sauce all over the rim. the ravioli was the only decent food left on the table but not worthy of its hefty €30 price tag. with almost everything that arrived to the table, we had to add a lot of salt to bring out any flavour. the service was friendly but uncoordinated, and plates were constantly removed from the table as we were still eating. wine glasses were filled slowly despite being the only table in the restaurant until 9:30pm (and even then only one other table had been filled). we did raise an issue with the steak, which was kindly removed from the bill, but all in all we would not recommend this place.

Big expectations, but average experience. Do not think like a Michelin restaurant. Coliflower overcooked, pasta also overcooked, hard particles in apetizers . Average tasty but not high rated one.

We literally wandered upon this place as we looked for a place for lunch. Even though they were close to closing, they syill say us with a wonderful grilled steak, salad, and cooked chicory. We toppe it with a lemon sorbet for dessert! If you get the chance, go here.

This restaurant is the embodiment of the Michelin guide’s Bib Gourmand. Starters are a beautiful selection of different dishes that let you sample the chef’s creativity. I highly recommend coming here, sharing a starter, trying one of their daily specials and one of their deserts. This place alone made the visit to Brindisi worth it!

Lovely place for lunch in Brindisi. We came here for a relatively quick bite before heading off to the airport and it was a great find near the port. Really good and fresh seafood, the chips were especially popular with the kids.

Celebrating Valentine's Day at a former Michelin-starred restaurant brought with it the anticipation of a memorable dining experience. While the food was adequate without being exceptional, the decor contributed a quaint yet slightly outdated charm to the evening. Unfortunately, the wine selection fell short of expectations, not quite reaching the level of variety or quality anticipated for such a setting. Despite these aspects, the overall ambiance and the significance of the occasion ensured a pleasant evening. The essence of dining out, particularly on such a special night, often transcends the culinary details, focusing instead on the shared experiences and the atmosphere that, despite its nods to the past, created a unique backdrop for the celebration.

A most pleasant and satisfying dinner in Pantagruele in Brindisi, so good, beyond our expectations. Delicious, imaginative and well presented dishes, with very friendly service. Make sure to order the antipasto Degustatione Terra et Mare!!! We ordered one for each of us. (See pictures of just some of them.) After which you'll only have just enough room for a Secondo. So much value for money!!!

If there’s one restaurant you must try when visiting Brindisi, this is IT! First dish: Best melanzane I have ever eaten - beautifully presented, delicate and a feast of flavour. Main dish: orecchiette al ragu - to die for. The food is beyond exquisite for a very reasonable price. The staff is charming and gives great advice when you ask questions. The atmosphere is authentic and truly cosy. I could not recommend this place more!

Yelp
We spent the evening in Brindisi a couple of days ago. They suggested we had a salad instead of antipasti as a starter which was just that: salad, but the main course was really nice. My wife had a Nice risotto with seeds and I had the Dorade which was prepared in a butter sauce, came unaccompanied but tasted really great. There were quite a few locals at the place, always a good sign although Brindisi isn't the most touristic place after all. My desert, a local gelato specialty, was not really a hit, but couldn't take away the great memory of that fish. I'd go back just for that.
