Today I had an interesting customer experience.
I decided to order the hot turmeric latte. I have had Turmeric lattes before, but never here at Panther, so this was a first for that drink here. I should have just stuck to their stellar hot Matcha Latte and saved myself the disappointment of the drink and my experience.
I asked for a little extra pepper sprinkled on top (like I do at all the other places I've drank it) and the guy taking my order was very straight-faced, cut & dry, and just said, "we don't have pepper, we are not a restaurant." I was like, "oh, ok." He felt very standoffish. I very friendly-like talked about how the pepper activates the turmeric's health properties, just as conversation, not asking for any pepper, since he already told me they didn't have any.
The barista, dry faced, like he was ready for an argument or trying to quell a nonexistent argument (more accurate) said, "We don't have pepper," fully ignoring my friendly talk at the payment counter. He definitely did NOT seem friendly, but the moment I said ok and walked away, he was having just the grandest, most happy chat with another customer, like he flipped a "bad attitude" switch on, just for me.
Maybe he judged me and decided on a preset attitude about me? I don't know, but all I wanted was a friendly face and a freaking hot drink to start my nice day. I didn't get that at all. Why should I come back? Their's plenty of other options.
And this wasn't it Chief. My least review had 3 stars before, but now I'm dropping another star.
Arrogance towards customers is unnecessary and a No-no, especially even moreso when it is UNWARRANTED. I usually give a place a couple chances. Many people have had great experiences here, why haven't I?
My patience with this place is running out fast. People work hard for their money and get to decide where it is spent; bad attitudes lose customers, so leave the arrogance at the door before work, please.
As for the Turmeric Latte it was, meh. Go to Sabal Coffee, they make it fantastically.
