"Maybe your nap on the beach was cut short by some kids taking spikeball way too seriously, or perhaps nobody in your house is volunteering to be the DD. Regardless, you don’t feel like going out for dinner tonight. Instead, bring in some pizzas from Panzone’s, which has locations in Beach Haven and Surf City. Order a meatball parm or buffalo chicken cheesesteak as well, then finish it on the beach tomorrow and you’ll have no trouble falling asleep." - Matt Tervooren

Google
A small but modern joint for pizza, Panzone’s hits the spot for enjoyers of great pizza. The food is just spectacular. The slice of pizza is hefty, and loaded with toppings if you order them. It tastes wonderful and comes out fresh, hot and steaming. I really enjoyed my slices, and was not disappointed in the slightest with my order. However, the prices compared to some places in New York are slightly higher, which is something to note. Additionally, be prepared to wait for your pizza. It took quite a bit of time to prepare four slices, but the wait made sure that the pizza was hot and fresh. Nonetheless, the pizza was still wonderful, the service was great and the place was quite clean and nice, making a great experience overall.

We loved that Sicilian pizza we got today at the shop. A bit pricey but very delicious! Thank you guys wishing you all the best!

Google
Crispy crust, good flavor sauce, pepperoni and plain very good. I just got a garden slice and was a little thrown off by the raw vegetables on top. I'll give it a try another day and see how it goes! I also took off a star because I wanted to call in an order so we could get on the beach quicker. The message of being short staffed and the need to order online is impossible when driving with a car full of kids. I do appreciate the culinary arts and small business so definitely have grace for the staff shortage problem. Very friendly and patient with us upon arrival 🙂

Google
I got 2 plain slices , 6 garlic knots and a small clam chowder for $28. The chowder was probably bottom 3 worst clam chowders I have ever had, but it is a pizza place so I wasn't expecting it to be amazing anyway. The sauce for the garlic knots has no flavor whatsoever, but knots were cooked nicely. The pizza was pretty disappointing, there's not much sauce or dough...mostly cheese. Bonus points for being a cute looking place with nice friendly staff and super convenient location

Google
I had a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni, and a garden salad. Girlfriend had a hamburger. Pepperoni was those little cupping pepperonis which I don't really get the hype, but the pizza was thin, crisp, and piping hot. I had to try LBI's favorite pizza, and it really did not disappoint. Salad made some bold choices, such as the addition of chickpeas which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it was a very generous portion. I got the small, and it could have easily fed 2 people, I wasn't able to finish. I'm told the burger was delicious as well. The young people working were very friendly and prompt with their service.

Highly recommend! Margarita Pizza and Meat Lover are our favorite!!!

Google
Buffalo wings were lukewarm. Margherita pizza had no fresh mozzarella cheese and barely any fresh basil. French fries were cold. Salad was okay. All this for $72. I will not eat here again.

Google
Every pizza place review for lbi says it is the best pizza the reviewer has ever had. I am still looking for something that rises above average. I had 2 slices here chicken bacon ranch ($5.50) and sausage ($4.75). Place was nearly empty but it took 10 minutes to get the slices. The crust reminded me of Greek pizza. The sausage was cold and undercooked. Seemed almost like it was added after the pizza was heated. Same for the ranch sauce on the CBR slice. Was added after it came out of the oven. The chicken used was very large chunks of breaded chicken. Due to the size they basically fell off the slice. The bacon was also very fatty and was like eating nuggets of fat. Three stars is actually pretty generous.

Yelp
Great gluten free pizza!!! 10/10 recommend. Knowledgeable about allergies and cross contamination.

Yelp
Ordered online on Friday night as we were heading to LBI for the weekend. It was ready when we got there a half hour later. We ordered two small pizzas (they only have small and large), garlic knots and mozzarella sticks. Everything was good! I love garlic knots and rarely have them. These were great!

Crentily T.

Yelp
On the prowl for a slice, we stumbled across a Surf City classic, Panzone's. Greeted by a face so friendly, it nearly felt familiar. After taking a minute to choose from the gourmet slices, we were recommended the chicken-bacon-ranch pizza. And it sure was delicious. As the rise in sub-par service continues, I really appreciated my experience at Panzone's tonight. Highly recommend!

Greg A.

Yelp
It appears that it's takeout only. The 2 young ladies at the counter were very delightful. Had the fish and chips it was delicious, the family shared a large Anniversary Pie, which they said it was outstanding!

Mike B.

Yelp
Take out from this locally owned area staple. Order called in, verified for completeness. Food was ready, as ordered, in 20 minutes as promised. Order verified as the bag was filled. Appreciate the double checking to ensure accuracy. Pizza delicious. Crisp crust, correct sauce to cheese ratio. Mozzarella sticks crunchy and creamy with a cup of scrumptious, slightly sweet tomato sauce for dipping. Caprese salad an enormous helping of freshly cut veggies with big slices of moist and creamy mozzarella and juicy sweet local tomatoes. Topped with a sliced broiled chicken breast... This was REALLY good. Friendly conscientious service... Good food. Go!

Meikka L.

Yelp
Very basic pizza. Dough and cheese is cheap you can tell. No where near a good Jersey pizza. Disappointed...

Wayne J.

Yelp
Best LBI pizza. Get a plain pizza or their chicken tomato/caprese sandwich. Enjoy it at the beach!

Cieralyn H.

Yelp
For some reason my order came out wrong TWICE. I got a chicken Caesar wrap with chicken cutlet instead of grilled chicken. Returned it and waiting for another one..... when I got the second one it came out with chicken fingers. Not too sure why when I clarified chicken cutlet multiple times.

G W.

Yelp
Everything was just as we expected. Service was friendly delivery at the store was ready for pick up on time and they even give a discount for military. I would highly recommend this place and the best part the pizza didn't need an oil change.

TH C.

Yelp
Been here twice and both times I had good experiences. Their food is really good and friendly staff. I recently tried their Nutella fries, and Oh My Gawd! They are so good - can truly become addictive. Margharita Sicilian pie was delicious, too!

Kimberly J.

Yelp
Fantastic clam chowder, fried calamari, and cranberry walnut salad with blue cheese and mandarin oranges.

Howard U.

Yelp
I ordered a large pie with sausage with delivery. It was on the expensive side all set and done. Pizza was OK nothing to rave about. That's another story. The pizza was left on my front step and there was no text or phone call and no one rang the bell. I expected with delivery, the pizza would arrive hot, but that didn't happen either. I really can't recommend but I can really not recommend.

Cydney B.

Yelp
Needed dinner on a Monday night after 8pm. Limited options but we saw Panzones was open and wanted to give it a shot. Ordered a meat lovers large pizza and it was $27. OUTRAGEOUS for the amount of meat on the pizza. Mini pepperonis, thin slices of meatball. What a bummer. Only positive was that they were open later and had the pizza ready when we went to pick up. Super greasy, no crunch to the crust. Deff good move for drunk late night eats, but not if your looking to really enjoy. Probably not a repeat for us.

Yelp
I'm writing this review for my husband and I. This is the only place my husband felt safe getting takeout since Covid19! He's from Brooklyn and loves the chicken cheese steaks! I enjoy the Pizza. This place has been around since I'm a kid and hasn't changed a bit. They take your order outside. They do offer delivery and curbside they also have a couple of outdoor tables. Service with a smile always!! It's not a gourmet type of pizza place but very good! Keep up the good safe work! Hope to see you around until I'm an old lady LOL. My husband would be so upset if you ever changed.

Leora R.

Yelp
Local pizza and sub shop. Deeelicious! One indoor table. Outdoor seating and to go orders . Loved the cheesesteak and eggplant parm subs. Really great employees!

David L.

Yelp
We were cruising up and down Long Beach Blvd. looking for something that we could take onto the beach. We settled on Panzone's without the benefit of looking at any reviews. We pulled into a dedicated parking spot, grabbed a menu, and placed an order. Overall, it's a little overpriced. $16 for a 16" pie and $10 for a 10" hoagie. Pizza was good, but nothing extraordinary. The ingredients are good, but the crust was a little fat. The turkey hoagie included fresh Boar's Head turkey and was very good. We could stop back here on our next visit, but I'd like to try some of the other eateries in the area.

Scott C.

Yelp
We eat here every once in a great while and I've never been really impressed. Last night we stopped off for a few pies. I can't believe $45 for two pies with 1 toppings on each half for a total of 4 toppings. Plus they are a stingy with the toppings. For that kind of money i would expect a little more. The pies are ok. Nothing special. To me the sauce is very bland with no real flavor. Actually the pies where very doughy tasting.

Keith D.

Yelp
The sandwich and the pizza was good, the white chowder was inedible. Staff was friendly.

Nicholas R.

Yelp
Had Panzone's over the weekend after a very long hiatus and it really let me down. I'm not sure if it was better when I was a kid but every aspect of this pizza missed the mark. 1. The dough was more or less flavorless. This wasnt NJ/NY style that other reviews claim, rather, a doughy mess with too much yeast. What the true shame is that you'd think after the years Panzone's in operation, the oven would have a nice flavor, but there was none to be found 2. The Marinara was decent. Nothing standout-ish, nothing bold...just average (which is entirelly okay). 3. The Cheese, again: decent, nothing standoutish, assuming it is a part skim mixture? This pizza is typical DTS pizza. It's pizza you get during your vacation. It does the job, but for the quality and price and legacy behind it....it makes you think twice about visiting back and consider bringing a few pies down from iconic joints in North Jersey. Maybe I had a bad comeback pie? Maybe it gets better? You be the judge.

Amanda H.

Yelp
Didn't know you could have a bad slice of pizza until I ordered from here. BIGGEST waste of $30

Rob A.

Yelp
i got a Buffalo chicken cheesesteak. it was mid and $15. it gave me crippling heartburn. L restaraunt

David D.

Yelp
Came here while on LBI for dinner with some family on 07-31. It was during the typical dark sky heavy downpour Summer thunderstorm on LBI. Didn't interrupt the staff they were moving orders out. I placed mine and our food came to the counter quickly. We enjoyed the salad; sandwich and pizza ordered and staff checked on us to see if we needed anything and if we enjoyed the meal. This location could use more tables or better seating at the counter. I did notice a LOT of people picking up orders even at the height of the thunderstorm. When on the island give them a try. They do have another location which features pastas and I am sure is larger.

John B.

Yelp
The best pizza you can get on the island. Offering delivery through an online service and also curbside to help during these times.

Daniel C.

Yelp
Great pizza, great staff, great food, and an even better family environment. Can't go to the island without stopping here.

Matthew R.

Yelp
The menu at Panzone's has a lot of choices so you can always find something you want. We generally avoid the pizza because the crust is doughy and the sauce is too sweet. The clam chowder is absolutely awful. Everything else we've eaten has been good. Despite this, Panzone's is still one of our regular go to places because it is easy to get to, has more parking than a lot of other places on the island and their staff is always friendly and helpful.

Mike H.

Yelp
Been eating here since the 80s. It never disappoints. Panzone's is my favorite pizza on the island. To me, Panzone's and LBI are synonymous. I mostly get pizza here so I can't speak to the other items other than the fries are good, the wings are tasty, and the one or two pasta dishes I've had were great. A relative said the cheesesteaks were decent but not fantastic, but that's to be expected when you travel more than 20 miles or so from Philly. It is pricey but so is everything on the island these days.

Pegah Y.

Yelp
Decent pizza if you're on LBI, and I definitely prefer it to Surf City pizza. We visited in the early afternoon (around 2pm) and each ordered two slices (cheese and pepperoni with sausage). The slices were large and were also heated up for us immediately upon ordering, rather than sitting behind a display case and going cold / old as the pizza does at Surf City pizza. The pizza was tasty enough. Nothing mind blowing, but definitely A-OK. Service was good and the person behind the counter actually took the time to come by and ask us how the food was. I think this is my preferred pizza place (of the very few pizza options) when I visit LBI.

Rachael W.

Yelp
We decided to get dinner from here one night. My husband kept talking about the pizza and how the sign said it was the best. We go in and not one staff member acknowledged that we even walked inside. Meanwhile we place our order via the kiosks on the wall. We ordered a large pizza, cheese fries and a Cesar salad after paying it asked if we wanted a receipt or not. We opted for it to be printed out, that never happened so no receipt no big deal. We stayed at the restaurant waiting for our food. Just sitting watching people come in and out sadly most were complaining about the wait, food being cold, and not ready when they came to get their order. At one point the staff was complaining to each other about the patrons asking about wait times for food. Mind you this is happening in front of customers. An HOUR later we finally get our food. We drive 2 blocks back to our house. We open the pizza and right away something did not look right, the pizza was not cut. So we cut it. No big deal but that is definitely part of your job. As far as this being the best pizza...it certainly was not. I was highly disappointed. The dough tasted like it pre-made and frozen, it was most definitely under cooked to boot. The salad about 1/4 of the romaine lettuce was bad. As far as the cheese fries they were cold. When I bit into them they were definitely not freshly made fries. They tasted like they had been sitting out since they opened. Unfortunately I don't think we will be back.

Jane D.

Yelp
Chicken parm sandwich consists of two chicken fingers drizzled with sauce and some cheese - not like the old pan ones that's for sure...

David T.

Yelp
Such a disappointment! Reliably got NYC style pizza here for decades -- a true slice on the island. They abandoned that in the last two years? for a generic pizza that looks & tastes pre-made from a distributor. Avoid if you are accustomed to really good pie.

Lisa R.

Yelp
Family celebration trip to LBI. First night there, order pizza and subs to go. How bad could it be? It's pizza! Even bad pizza is good pizza, right? Wrong. There is Panzone's pizza. Easily, in top three worst pizzas we ever had. We, meaning everyone in our very large family, ranked this as one of the worst pizzas they ever ate. We ordered two different kinds. What kinds? Doesn't matter. It's effing pizza and they screwed it up. The dough tastes like nothing. Literally nothing. It's bland - no spices, no salt, no personality. You put the pizza in your mouth, and your mouth literally wants to reject it, like a baby pushes peas out with their tongue. There is a visceral response you get trying to eat this pizza. We also order two different types of subs. The one sub, the bread smelled like chemicals. Literally, nauseated to smell the bread! The Italian meats looked like they were the lowest grade. Italian sub suppose to come with oil and it was dry. The cheese on the turkey sub was slimey. Wth. We also got three garden salads. Nope, nope, and nope. The tomatoes tasted like they were frozen. They used canned everything; nothing fresh. We all got stomach aches trying to eat this food. And the worst part was that it cost $80! We ended up throwing it out, it was so bad. We now have a new verb for something that gets totally effed up: Panzone'd!

Donna S.

Yelp
I seriously don't no where to begin, I know, how about a $24 dollar price tag on a large pizza with extra watered down sauce? I lived in South Jersey for over 50 years, I KNOW what a good pizza taste like. Moved to Lancaster County area e years ago and thought I had found the REAL worst pizza ever. What is it about not wanting to put some flavor in the sauce? Seriously, I honestly don't like to give bad reviews but if I didn't know better I'd swear their sauce was watered down tomato soup! The crust tasted like...well, no taste. What the heck? How can you mess up a simple thing like pizza, especially since that is what you're supposedly advertising as...A Pizza Shop? On a lighter note, if you dare to compare....it is open all year round and they do take credit cards. It's nice on the eyes...like your neighborhood pizza joint just horrible pizza. Manga! Just not here.

Brian V.

Yelp
This is some really nasty stuff. Dominos Piazza Hut and Poppa Johns are better than this garbage. Keep on driving and go somewhere else. 3 pies and 24 wings 93 dollars. What a joke don't know how this place stays open. Disgusting!!!!

David M.

Yelp
This place is ok. Garlic knots are good, pizza was meh and very greasy ,and the waiter was nice. But they were short staffed. It is also expensive. I would come back here if it was the place I had to chose from.

Maria D.

Yelp
We ordered pizza to start off our family vacation and I have to say I've had much better pizza out of a box. The crust was too doughy and undercooked and the sauce tasted bland, like they threw ketchup on the pizza. To top it off the prices were high. The only reason they're getting even the two stars is because the delivery was on time and the delivery person was very friendly. Find another pizza place on the island, I'm sure there's better.

Peter S.

Yelp
Well I don't mind a good Pan style crush the truth is both pies were completely under cooked. I get that they were busy, but a good quality crust is critical.

Rachel B.

Yelp
The nicest staff. Food is decent. Recommend not getting the burger. Fries are awesome, buffalo chicken wings are great, perfect late night staple

Phoebe T.

Yelp
after reading some of the pervious reviews we were a little scared to try this place but we were too hungry to go somewhere else so we decided to give this place a try. it's a rather small place but clean. we ordered a large Hawaiian pizza and it was surprisingly delicious! family loved it so much, even said it's the best hawaiian pizza we had in a long time. even tho the price is a bit higher than usual ($20ish) but it is at the beach so that's understandable.

Anthony C.

Yelp
This was a reminder that I need to follow my fellow Yelpers. The tepid reviews did not jive with what I saw, so, hungry, I ate lunch. It's not that it was bad. It was OK. But not very good. I have I say the Pizza looked very good, though some here on yelp found it otherwise. I tried a cheese steak--and being this close to Philly I expected a lot more. It was very big and had that bread you can only get in this area. But the meat (though plentiful) was very dry. The cheese was so thin it was hard to taste. And it was expensive--$9 for a sandwich. It reminded me of that old joke: the food here is bad but the portions are amazing. I paid $3 for a large soda, as I was really thirsty on a hot day. But the entire time I was in there no one offered me a refill. Moreover, despite tables and a diner-style counter, it was really strange that the girls working there did not act like waitresses. They just kind of stood around. The place looks inviting. But the food does not match the promise.

Dave D.

Yelp
Was charged $22 for a gluten free pie to go. We expect to pay more for a gf pie but when the pie is only 12" diameter this felt like we were really being taken advantage of. When I asked the girl behind the counter if the price was correct she replied yes we charge $5 premium for gluten free. I don't see how they could sell a small 12" regular pie for $17. Shame on us for not asking the size/cost when we placed the order.

Larry R.

Yelp
I had high expectations looking at all the reviews. I'm sorry to say it didnt live up to many of them. The pizza was just ok. Very forgettable. The chicken parm sandwich was overcooked and the chicken looked like chicken fingers and was tough. The ceasar salad had as much brown pieces as there was green. I really wanted to like this place as it is close but unfortunately it's off the list

Brian P.

Yelp
30 min wait for take out food which wound up being mediocre at best. Two out of 4 sandwiches were wrong. The chicken fingers came with no sauce. The buffalo chicken cheese steak had no cheese and was dry. The bread was the best part. Sadly I doubt it's made on premise. I wish the food was better. This place looked promising. For the price per person and quality of the food I doubt I'll ever be back.

Carli R.

Yelp
This restaurant does it all. Pizza, chowder, pasta... everything is so delicious you will not be disappointed. My family has been going to LBI every summer and going to Panzone's is a must every time we visit the island. The owners are such a wonderful family that we have gotten to know over the years and they make us feel at home and part of their family. GO TO PANZONES! It will become a family tradition.

Luke W.

Yelp
I've been going to Panzone's for years in LBI and really, I have no complaints. Typically, if there is no food I am in the mood for, I tend to stop here and grab a slice. I think Panzone's is one of the closest to NYC style pizza, and they do not fall short at all. Basic stuff, but why do y'all give me the receipt for pizza?

Kathleen S.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Panzone's Pizza, have been since day one, and was surprised to see so many one star ratings. For those who have never been, the one thing I'd say is that you can't compare it to "regular" pizza. It's different. The crust is thin, soft, almost doughy, like a home made bread, which is different but good. Give it a try with an open mind. Yes, it's pricy, but for the Island that's par.

Brian J.

Yelp
Good pizza, but not great. Maybe I'm a pizza snob since I'm born and raised in NYC. Locals told me it's the best on the island. It makes one thing sure. I won't be having other pizza down here if this is the best the rest must be terrible.

M A.

Yelp
- pizza is so /so pricing is on par with island life - not bad but also not a memorable place to eat. Better pizza options around.

Kevin Y.

Yelp
Just finished one of the best buffalo chicken pies iv ever had! I was really considered on which pizza place on the island really put out the best pizza, and so far panzones takes it! Great service and the waitresses were sweet and very helpful! My first post on this app and its worth every word!

Karen S.

Yelp
Best wings on the island! Pizza is yummy, crispy and well seasoned! Highly recommended compared to other pizza places on the island
