After reading some reviews, I thought I really had to visit this Italian Bakery. I waited for my Italian friend to come to town so I could take her with me. I have to say we were both disappointed. It was not what I expected.
Coffee was very good. Stars are for the coffee and the cleanliness of the establishment. The display was organized and clean. I give them that, but the food was just average. Focaccia was average, croissants were just OK. They mainly had ham and cheese items, nothing very Italian. Swiss cheese was almost in everything they made that day. I don't think Italians are big on Swiss cheese or at least that the ones I know. I was expecting to get more traditional Italian items, like mozzarella, mortadella, sopressata, etc. The sandwiches looked weak because they were missing ingredients. The one we ate hardly had any speck. I was happy to see at least speck in a sandwich, but it was also disappointing. In my opinion, the dough also lacked flavor. My friend agreed with me and she is an Italian baker.
When it comes to service, the staff was just OK. They are there to take your order. Nothing very Italian about that. Hospitality is not a forte here. Needless to say, I was not impressed. I can find tastier Italian treats and service in Miami. Nowadays, there are many authentic Italian places opening up in the neighborhood.
