First of all, I would not give too much weight to the one-star reviews of this restaurant. Most of them clearly stem from complaints about pricing rather than the quality of the experience itself. This is a Michelin-starred restaurant, and some guests seem to expect Michelin-level service while objecting to Michelin-level prices, criticizing items like coffee and pastries for being “too expensive.” These reviews reflect unrealistic expectations rather than a fair assessment of the restaurant.
Having said that, I had dinner with the five-course menu and overall the experience was excellent. The staff are truly lovely, make you feel at home, and are generally very efficient. The food is great, and the wine list is well curated. Prices are aligned with the level of the restaurant, and the experience is definitely worth trying.
I particularly loved the trout. One thing worth mentioning, though, is that for some reason one dish was not served. I only realized this once I got home, as they provide a printed list of the selected menu, and while reading it I noticed that the storione course had not been served. While the service was very good overall, this kind of oversight should not happen in a Michelin-starred restaurant, so I would rate the service 4 out of 5 stars
