My mom and I often joke about how “Pan es pan” translating to “bread is bread” since we’ve had pan dulce from bakeries all over the twin cities and think they either taste too much like egg, vanilla and/or egg. This panadería was truly the exception! As soon as we arrived going in we smelled the sweet smell of the pan dulce that smelled exactly like the panaderías in Mexico! We got 5 different types of pan dulces to try: yoyo, a croissant, biscuit, cubilete, and a concha. All totaled out to be $8.50 (cash is cheaper than card, they have a 4% service charge). So far we tried the yo-yo and it amazed me how incredibly delicious it was, not overwhelming sweet and was the perfect amount of dense. I would like to return to try their sandwiches. It’s a great local and family owned business that amazed me, a new hidden gem in the Lowry Hill/Whittier neighborhood!
