Great atmosphere at the river beautiful to see the sun setting. Even while you wait for a table, you can enjoy the dock and catch a breeze. The food came out hot and fresh. The only issue was a delay with my frozen drink and by the time it got there it wasn’t frozen.

Google
Papa Doc’s can be a great spot and sometimes not so great. Great place to come to by boat and it’s really a hit or miss depending on where you sit. As a casual person, we were sorted in the bar zone with karaoke right next to us. Great for people who would like to sing and have a drink but it really depends on the type of person you are. The food is good. Go to favorite is the low country broil and crab legs to share with a table. The service is great in the main dining room and the outdoor seating but on the other hand in the bar dining area it is very slow and unorganized. Overall I would recommend coming here to see what type of place it is. It’s a hit or miss.

Google
Very nice casual restaurant right on the shores of lake Wylie in South Carolina. Went with my social group. We had a party of 10. So we had a good sampling of the menu. Great selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. Nice selection of appetizers as well. Wait staff was good. We were well attended to during our stay. Great selection of seafood items on the menu as well as other items including sandwiches and salads. All enjoy their selections. Portions were nice. Prices were reasonable. Good value. I had the grilled oysters because I love cooked oysters. They were nice medium sized oysters and seasoned very well. The menu, the wait staff, and the location we're all great. Be sure to give them a try. I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit.

Google
Great place for a family lunch/dinner. Amazing location. You will be right on the lake with picturesque views enjoying even a super hot day. The hole place looks like a huge ship, definitely gives you a special vibe. Food was 10 out of 10. Service was 10 out of 10. That’s why place is so popular. Thank you for a great time. Definitely will be back!

Google
Stopped by for an early dinner and this place did not disappoint. Sat on the deck outside by the water. Great views, service, and food. My group had hush puppies, peel and eat shrimp, smack down shrimp appetizers. For the main course we had Char-grilled oysters, Rockefeller oysters, blackened Mahi Sandwich and fish and chips.

Google
Excellent. I grew up near the beach so this atmosphere is absolutely perfect for me. The food was outstanding, but the service was over the top. Our waitress , Samantha, was outstanding ...so a big shout out to you, Samantha, and thank you. This was our first time here. It has taken the top spot on our list.

Google
I have heard a lot of great things about Papa Doc’s. It has a very interesting location right off the buster Boy Bridge, Has a great atmosphere, lots of people and lots of music . Also, they have a boat dock where you can pull your boat up just like you go to your car in the parking lot and it’s right next to a major marina. So even with this review being wrote the way that it is, I will go back and try this place again just because of how many good reviews I have heard from people individually about this place . I ordered a mahi-mahi sandwich which I have heard nothing but people, rant and rave about! After waiting probably 25 to 30 minutes at the bar to even have my order be taken I put my order in after flagging somebody down for it to go meal of a mahi-mahi sandwich and sweet potato fries to go. Even though they were busy, and I understand that impact things it took almost an hour to get my sandwich out . It took almost 45 minutes for me to get my drink. My drink was very good and I ordered a margarita that was exceptionally good. When my mahi-mahi sandwich came out, it never came out with the special sauce that comes with it, and my fish was ice. Cold, my fries were very cold & soggy. Took me about another five minutes to plug my waitress down and when I told her about it, she immediately said I will take that and make you another one. That doesn’t look right! They immediately replaced it and actually got me the second replacement to go box out in about 10 minutes. May be a little bit more, much quicker than the first one. This time it was hot and it was mediocre, and when I say mediocre, I mean mediocre nothing nowhere near like I’ve heard so many people talk about so maybe it was just a bad night. I’m actually hoping that it is and I’ll try it one more time down the road and if I have a different experience with it this time then I will most certainly come back and edit this review and focus focused on the positive as I always like to do ! However, I will only give an honest review and I wasn’t impressed whatsoever, I was actually quite disappointed and irritated. The place was busy and the time that we got there was around 9:30 maybe 10 o’clock on a Saturday night . So I’m sure that’s one of their more busy times of the week and again it might’ve just been isolated bad experience and I will keep you all posted if my experience is different next time. Bathrooms need more attention also!

Google
The Crab Legs were JUICY!!!! Well worth the price! Even on a busy Sunday we were seated quickly and served steamy hot and fresh food!

Yelp
Simply great! If you're looking for a water side restaurant with many options on food, and several bars , this is the place to go!

Yelp
Thank goodness this location is back to life again and serving quality food! The former restaurant - T-Bones probably never spent a dime on maintenance. As you walked towards the door, the stench of mold was obvious and revolting. I can't believe it remained in business - but grateful to the new owners - who remembered what a great location this is, and what we needed to have replaced! Thank you for your investment in our Lake Wylie SC Community - keep up the great job!

Yelp
View nice, food sub par and over priced. They make the waitress wear clothes that barely over them. Wish it was better food but I guess they don't need that with the location. Have eaten there twice and apologized once to my husband when it cost us 75.00 for lunch and we shared and item .yikes
google avatar

Yelp
Still friendly staff and good food. Reasonable prices. Lively atmosphere also but I didn't check the sanitation score this time. My only complaint is that the women's restrooms is in need of IMMEDIATE attention. If your restrooms aren't clean how are you clean and able to serve clean food? Help me give you 5 stars.

Yelp
Service was absolutely horrible I've never seen such. My cousin god bless him had fit he got sooooooooooooooooo sick he had to run to the QT across the street and puke! NOT TO MENTION they kept putting lemon slices in my friend's coke. It was clearly an act of hate!

Yelp
Ate here several times. Great ambiance. We sat outside by the water. Pretty views. Delicious Smack Down shrimp for appetizer. We both had the blackened mahi sandwiches (for a second time) fries and cole slaw. Everything was delicious. Good, attentive service!

Yelp
We had awesome dinner here Sat. night. We came about 5:30 and did have to weight about 45 minutes for table of 3 on the deck but I would expect that. I liked all the drink choices and seafood. We all shared the "big papa" and it was enough for 4. The seafood was cooked great and tasted great. It was a little busy and noisy on the deck but nothing I wouldn't expect on a Saturday night. I like the deck overlooking water. Our server was great and very attentive. Very happy my nephew suggested here, we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Good food, excellent service, and amazing atmosphere! Enjoy a chill afternoon or dinner at this chill spot.

Yelp
I had never been here in my 16 years in clt. It's cute. It's fall, so the docs were empty, but I could see a time to be had could easily happen. I didn't get a ton of seafood. I'm not a fan of the food. I tried the daily soup, Chicken Tortilla. It lacked flavor but had a ton of protein. Then, the shrimp app. It had way too much vinegar in the sauce for my taste. Maybe it's what I ordered.

Yelp
Papa Doc's never misses! The vibes, the service, the food - all on point. Frozen drinks for a hot day, lake views, and delicious bites!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this restaurant! It's casual dining with a beautiful view of the lake . Me and my sister dined here for lunch. We ate on the spacious patio that offered beautiful views of the lake . The mimosas were wonderful and I enjoyed the shrimp, and seafood boil

Yelp
Food was amazing and the service was great. We sat outside with the shore view and it was an awesome vibe. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Yelp
Grabbed a quick lunch and it was good! The service was good and the view of the lake in a sunny day is always welcome. Will return!

Yelp
Amazing food. Awesome service that was quick, and the style is wonderful. You're right on the lake!

Yelp
Food is great and the atmosphere is fun. The girls working however are so rude! I'm 18 and the second I walked in this group of girls around my age seemed mad that I was just there. I could be wrong but I swear they were talking shtt about me the entire meal. Fire those RUDE girls!!

Yelp
The weather was just PERFECT...so we decided to head to this ole place for its dockside dining scene. We hit the place around 5:15 pm, yet we had to get on the waitlist...a good 45 minutes wait (though they quoted us 1 hour to 90 minutes!). I guess it was to be expected...given the day's beautiful weather. Luckily, we noticed many seating areas...so we grabbed some drinks (Beer, and Watermelon Margarita), and just chilled out in the sun 'til our table was ready. I probably have been here before (decades before during my party days)...but could barely remember. As expected, it was a more casual version of North Shore Club. I definitely preferred the North Shore Club (both ambiance and food), but this place did have its own thing going on. The place was huge...much bigger than anticipated; and it did provide this festive, party vibe. Where was the music though?? No overhead music...or if there was one, I can't even recall hearing it. Once seated, we ordered Smack Down Shrimp right away...and for entrees, my husband got the Fish & Chips, and I got the Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap, with Fries. The menu was fairly extensive...with mostly Southern-American items. Well, not sure whose fault...but we didn't get our appetizer, Smack Down Shrimp, until AFTER our entrees were delivered...and only after we asked about it. In any case, I liked this appetizer more than anything else...tasted just like Bang Bang Shrimp. My husband really liked his Fish & Chips...and I halfway liked the Chicken Caesar Wrap...only because it was a tad salty, and thought the chicken was a tad too dry. On the positive side, this wrap include bacon bits! Fries were good, but a tad too saturated. Still, the foods were actually better than what I had anticipated. The Watermelon Margarita was a tad sweeter than necessary...and I don't say that much. I almost felt a tad sick at one point? Still, it gave me a good buzz...so well worth it. Overall, we both really enjoyed hanging out here. The weather was really perfect for it...and again, the place definitely had its festive vibe (minus the music!). Honestly, I'd rate this place about 3.5 stars...but since I have to round up or down, I'll drop 4. Am definitely up for returning on another beautiful, sunny day!

Yelp
Great spot to eat right on the lake. Drive or boat over...wait can be long but worth it. Great views of the lake from inside or ask for a table outside. Ambiance is casual and laid back. Staff is always cheerful and happy to help. Food is very good, theres something for everyone. Recommend the peel and eat shrimp!
google avatar

Yelp
With an outstanding waterfront location with dockside mooring for your boat. Which is what I did. Staff is there to help you get in and out of your boat. Then you can take a seat with a table on the water looking out at Tega Cay. The menu is well appointed and the service is fast the fellow serving us was really fast and knew the local favs. Soon got The mahi mahi with a tropical flavor of mango chutney and greens. It was perfect. I can't wait to come back here. Food service and atmosphere can't beat it.

Yelp
Quick bite for lunch, seated right away by friendly staff. Ordered the po boy-shrimp was juicy and crispy topped with a delicious sauce.
google avatar

Maureen B.

Yelp
Very friendly service even though it was very crowded for the boat parade. Food also came out quickly and was delicious!
google avatar

Lillian T.

Yelp
This place has great views. Very cute and the food is pretty good too. No frills but decently good. I would be back if someone invited me but I must say I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return. I love seafood so anytime I can get some decent seafood at a decent price I'm ok with that. The drinks were nothing to write home about, but for a big party I can see how this could be a good place to choose. The service her was not bad. We had a young man who appeared to be in high school or college age, and he wasn't bad. Again not spectacular, but if you don't need a lot of extra frills this may be a good spot for you.

Yelp
Food was tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. Loved the water views. Great cocktails and good music
google avatar

Yelp
Great location on the shore of lake willy. As you arrive to port, there's people ready to help docking the boat. The service is friendly and helpful and the food is good. We had a variety of dishes for an late lunch, early dinner experience, it was worth it. Not overly priced and once again, let me say that it was a great location

Julie O.

Yelp
Great food, atmosphere, and service. Parking is hard but you just need to walk farther.

Yelp
Great food...hot and fast! Even on a sunny Sunday afternoon!!! Priced to please!! Thanks for supporting our community too!!!

Yelp
We stopped in to see Velvet Edge playing in the Tiki Bar, and stayed for dinner. It was a rainy day so they weren't too crowded for a Saturday night. Great music, and a great steak sandwich meal. And a special thank you to the young couple sitting at the table next to ours who paid our dinner bill!
google avatar

Jess S.

Yelp
The food was ok. Service was also "ok" it was nice to sit on the deck and watch boats.
google avatar

Yelp
My wife and I are shopping for a home in Rock Hill so we decided to give this place a shot. We have lived at the Jersey Shore our entire lives and we love our tiki bars on the beach. Papa Docs is the answer to that! Right on Lake Wylie. Walking in the hostess explained the setup. Inside/outside dining at tables. One bar is outside, another is half inside half outside. Lots of TVs to watch games. We decided to have drinks at the outside bar. The bar maids were quick, friendly and helpful. We had a few cocktails and the fried spicy shrimp. It was amazing! Perfect! Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back.

Erica J.

Yelp
My wife and I heard a lot of different opinions about this place. We ordered 6 raw oysters, but 3 were empty. However, the mushroom risotto was absolutely delicious!! My wife had the She Crab soup, and she loved it. I observed that the majority of customers ordered "baskets" versus anything else. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a fish and chips type of thing. Otherwise, no.
google avatar

Jim R.

Yelp
Busy, but busy good. Not a long wait. Plenty of seating inside and out. Service, prompt and attentive. Food looks great coming out. Had the Blackened Mahi and Grilled Oysters. Wonderful. Between the service, drinks and food; we'll be back for sure.

Yelp
Wow. This is a must stop in place in my books when around Charlotte & Lake Wylie! Our server was wonderful, kind, and had some really great suggestions on dishes to try! We sat outside, right over the water which was perfect on a Saturday afternoon with a frozen drink, the Wylie Vice, it looked like they had a beach area as well with a food truck that could have quick picks I got the fish and chips, it was everything and then some! The filet was huge, perfectly bartered, crispy and still moist and the hush puppies with their spicy honey butter - OMG! The fries, also perfectly battered and did I mention they make their own tarter sauce delicious! I'm so glad I've got family in the area as an excuse to go back to Papa Doc's Shore Club!

B C C.

Yelp
Unique restaurant on Lake Wylie with a patio on the water and views from indoors, too. I've been there for lunch in the patio with a live concert from the water and dined indoors overlooking the lake and enjoying the warmth. Staff is friendly, food is decent (better than when it was T-Bones), and it has a cool atmosphere. I may not go out of my way to come here, but I enjoy it when I visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere, good people welcoming feeling!food and drinks are amazing must try!

Callie K.

Yelp
Overall I'd give this place a 3.5. Our server was very kind and did an excellent job but service elsewhere fell short. We ordered salads and they came out with the meals. When our server noticed, she offered to take our food back to keep it warm. The hush puppies were good but had a bit of a kick to them. The butter with them was good. The salad came out with maybe one drop of dressing. So our waitress had to bring more which she didn't mind but did take a moment. My shrimp were good. They again came with the wrong sauce which my server noticed as soon as she stopped by. She fixed that and brought an extra one. The mac and cheese was good too. My friend thought their food was just average and most people come for the location.
google avatar

Nilda D.

Yelp
The food was very good. We had been there in the past and it has improved significantly. The service was excellent. The view of the lake is gorgeous. You will enjoy it.
google avatar

Carolyn L.

Yelp
Papa Doc have an outdoor deck that's not alot of places can compare. It sits over Lake Wylie. And when that sun sets. It's beautiful and breathtaking. Especially when it's nice outside. I opted to sit at the bar. We have two wonderful bartenders what was great to us. At some point, they were overwhelmed but other than that. Nothing to complain about. I ordered the mango margarita. A little sweet: but I like it. Then the Char-Grilled oysters. It's missing a little salt. But I'll order it again. Of course the bbq wings: I swear if you go wrong on the wings, you just need to shut down. My friend ordered the beef tips. I wasn't a fan.. He couldn't even finish it. But honestly I really like this place. Great place to watch a football game, and get outdoor environment.
google avatar

Heidi Y.

Yelp
It was quite a surprise to show up in October before Halloween and to be welcomed by such amazing decorations. I heard they do the same at Christmas. I really liked having lunch by the water and the food is delicious.
google avatar

Jill P.

Yelp
Nice ambiance. We were able to sit on the outside deck since it wasn't too hot. The food was good. We had a group of people and a few different items, my favorite-the hush puppies. Our server was super friendly and offered a couple suggestions.

Danny P.

Yelp
Wait time was almost two hours. Twice in a three week span. Food was good, setting was superior.
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
Really nice/large restaurant on a lake with plenty of seating both inside and outside. We were lucky and were able to get a spot out on the patio. There is also a large bar outside that would be cool to hang out at and get drinks and food. They have a ton of food and drink options. I opted for the shrimp tacos and these were so good! We also got an order of the hush puppies with the honey butter and they were so yummy. My mom got the fried fish and the portion was huge. Definitely would return here in the future as it's a very nice place to have a meal outside with a great view of the water.
google avatar

Andrea B.

Yelp
This place is so neat! I love how they have docks for boat parking, so you drive up with your boat! They even serve you in your boat on some days! The food was great honestly & the atmosphere makes it even better! We ordered salsa as the appetizer & it came out chunky with yummy salted thick chips. Our courses were the fried shrimp & fish platter & the cajun pasta, both came out great. The fish is a cod type, light tasting & the breading was perfect. We got a round of shots & wow they pour heavy haha no complaints because they were definitely double shots even though we ordered singles. We look forward to coming back, parking the boat, and sitting outside overlooking the lake!
google avatar

Sade A.

Yelp
Great food and even better vibes. I really enjoy the food here and the lake views. So peaceful and fun.
google avatar

Kasey M.

Yelp
I can't believe how good the seafood is here. Especially for being so far inland. Very cute decor and a great view. Really good drinks as well! Was crowded so we sat at the bar but the service was fast. Will definitely go again!

Catherine R.

Yelp
The service is good . The food is not. spend 200 the hush puppies was the only good thing
google avatar

Brandi H.

Yelp
Had a great time outside enjoying the good food and drinks. Our server Kennedy (hope I spelt it right) was so nice and checked on us ensuring we had a great time. We will be back

Kari S.

Yelp
Horrible experience!! Wish I could give zero stars!!! There was a 30 minute wait for outside, so we put our name in and ordered drinks. My wine glass had 2 things in it - a floater and a small piece of lettuce stuck to the inside at the bottom - but I didn't say anything. After 45 minutes they were ready to seat us, but the people being seated in front of us complained, and they gave our table to them (literally as we were walking with a hostess to our table). We were told to wait and we'd be seated next, but we watched multiple people get seated ahead of us. After over an hour, we left! Not worth it at all for mid fried food and overpriced nasty glasses of wine. We've never had a good experience here- only thing that's awesome is the lake view...but you'd be better off packing your own picnic and sitting at the lake somewhere else!
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
The walk up was amazing The water so soothing As well as the customer service it was two ladies that greeted me but 3 more showed up and were kind of watching .. felt like a celebrity... but over all the ambience was wonderful The food was amazing kind of different from what I usually eat
google avatar

Jon J.

Yelp
I usually prefer dining indoors with air conditioning, but it was enjoyable to eat outside by the water. I ordered only the Smack Down Shrimp, which was amazing with a great flavor profile and crispy texture. I wasn't very hungry, so that's all I tried. The Caesar salad looked good, and I heard the oysters are a great menu item for oyster lovers.
google avatar

Anna T.

Yelp
Great atmosphere especially if you get a seat on the patio near the water. The hostesses were very inefficient. Not sure it is because they were new, young or didn't care. We waited 10 minutes after our table was ready even though there were 5 hostesses at the stand. The food was decent. Better than a lot of Marina style restaurants and we will come back to try some other menu items as well as drinks. Smack down shrimp: 5/5 Raw oysters: 3.5/5. These are gulf oysters which we don't prefer but they were fresh and didn't taste fishy. Lakeside salad with salmon: 4/5. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Next time I'll ask to swap the corn and nuts for something else.
