So, I order here from time to time and the food usually doesn't have anything for me to complain about but the service has always left something to be desired. And because I really do love Papa John's pizza, I've been able to excuse the lackadaisical approach to their service since, typically, you can order online without having to actually speak to the people from the store.
Not quite the case this time. I ordered my order around 10:25 give or take a few minutes and then at 10:39 got my confirmation e-mail saying my food would be delivered in 30-40 minutes. 30 minutes goes by. Okay, I'll wait for 40. That goes by. Okay, maybe it's a busy night. I'll call and check. So at 11:10, I call and before even getting to say what I'm calling about, I'm alerted (rather matter of fact-ly) that "WE'RE CLOSED." I manage to get his attention before I'm hung up on and explain that the delivery has never been made. He says all orders are out and it'll be here within ten minutes. Well, folks. It's midnight as I write this and no such order has been made. Which now means, I'm going to have to call my bank (fun!) and tell them to cancel the charge to my card tomorrow. Call the store and see if I can get someone who even cares to talk to me.
My suggestion: If you live in their ordering jurisdiction and you just can't live without; go pick it up. They're always late and from the sounds of it, sometimes just don't show up.
EDIT: I just called the store again for my own amusement, got the guy on the phone, and apparently, the delivery driver is pulling up to my apartment as we speak. So, like I mentioned before. If you live in their jurisdiction, go pick it up if you want it on time. Ordering at 10:25 and getting it at midnight is inexcusable when you consider their 30-40 minute estimate. And I'm a pretty patient guy.
