Papa John’s Is Trying to Return to Quebec, Opening a Laval Location | Eater Montreal

"In Laval, on St‑Martin off Chomedey, I noticed Papa John’s has opened its first Quebec location in about a decade after a handful of short‑lived Montreal outlets in the late 2000s; the Kentucky‑based chain is much more prominent further west in Canada, with multiple locations in Toronto and especially Calgary and Edmonton. It arrives into an already crowded pizza scene—competing with chains such as Domino’s, Pizza Pizza, Double Pizza and even some Little Caesars suburban outposts, plus quality‑focused independents—so it faces an uphill battle. Its chances may also be hurt by recent controversies tied to founder John Schnatter (his 2017 criticisms of NFL kneeling players, his later use of a racial slur in 2018, subsequent resignations and harassment allegations), though Schnatter has since sold his final shares and the company has tried to repair its image with measures such as mandatory diversity training; whether that will help the brand succeed in Quebec remains unclear." - Tim Forster

Google
I couldn’t give zero rating . I paid $60 for two extra large pizza with 4 toppings on both pizza. Literally I was not able to locate tiny toppings. Such a poor quality and poor quantity of pizza, I have never experienced in my whole life. I complained over phone but the reaction was they dont care . I am attaching pictures. Can someone find the toppings ? Highly not recommend👎👎👎👎👎

Google
The only 5 star given is for the food since i have nothing to say but amazing. At the other hand this is the worst papa johns i have ever been to Rude staff ( treats the customer as if im there to beg for food ) Never respected the timing (ordered 24 hours earlier) made me wait for 30 minutes to make the order which was for kids birthday where few of them already left by the time i went back with order 2 times in a row today and last week Be informed And the cherry on the top was the ruined garlic sauce they gave me with it to feed 7 yeras old children

Decent pizza place with good flavors and fresh ingredients. The crust was nice and the toppings were well balanced. Service was okay and the order came out on time. Overall, a solid option if you’re in the area and looking for pizza.

Going to Papa John's for the first time. From what I heard it wasn't that good. But let me tell you I was blown away by this delicious little pizza. Very tasty, very fresh good crust. I'm giving this pizza a 7.8 on 10. There you have it! Will be coming back here very soon.

Worst pizza I've ever had.Dont get all hype. The tomato sauce is awful. Expensive for nothing. Sadly....Costco pizza is better and cheaper.

Google
Good pizza. First time we ordered garlic knots they were amazing because they were moistened with butter but every other time they were dry including today.

I ordered an extra large veggie pizza from Papa John’s in Laval and was very disappointed. You could hardly see any toppings—it looked like I paid for a plain pizza. Definitely not what I expected. Very poor quality and not worth it.

Yelp
Went there to try it with my Daddy as I've heard a lot about this pizza chain and was pretty hyped to me so had high expectations. Unfortunately been pretty disappointed when I tried it . I didn't like thier tomato sauce and their pizza in general. the location itself was pretty small with about maybe one or two tables to sit down so pretty much just there for a take out option which wasn't necessarily welcoming. Not to forget mentionning overall a bit pricey as well. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because we had a goood customer service .

Yelp
Came here a few months ago when we found that Papa John's re-opened in the Montreal area after having closed all their stores for a few years. There was a lot of hype to the name, but at the end of the day, Papa John's offers decent pizza, nothing to go crazy about. This location is very small, there are just a couple tables and some bar style seating but it is mostly made for takeout. It so happens the day I tried coming here, the store kept locking its doors because their printing system was broken, they weren't able to take more orders and had to reduce the amount of people coming in. It was very confusing and to make matters worse, they didn't have any menu in store. The employees told us to just go online. I assume all the kinks and service improved since then. As for the pizza, the biggest plus is that it comes with a free dipping sauce. The signature dipping sauce tastes just like butter, it is amazing and really useful for that leftover crust. Adds that irresistible garlic butter flavor. The dough is kind of chewy, reminds me of regular Dominoes and the toppings are kind of sparce. I still prefer my local 2 for 1 pizza joint that has a greasier style of pizza and LOTS more toppings. There's so many better options elsewhere. If Papa John's has a promo or discount for takeout then sure come and try it, but I don't see how this could be anyone's favorite pizza when there is nothing spectacular.

Yelp
Went here today for the second time to pick up two pizzas as we were celebrating my bf getting a new job opportunity. Ordered a large pepperoni and a large four topping. The cashier was angry that we did not leave a tip so he threw the pizzas on the counter and turned his back to us while the receipts were printing and said "the pizzas there and the receipts there". I said thank you and there was no reply. I am giving them two stars because the pizza is actually pretty good, they also give you a dip (we got the garlic one) and a jalapeno pepper in each box. Rating them poorly because of this service. Didn't know tipping was mandatory when going to pick up a $20 order.

Yelp
Recently opened pizza chain. Very good pizza, not greasy, not fussy. Nothing chic too. Fair pricing. So new, the app doesn't register it yet. It's a take out rather than a dine in.

Yelp
Ordered online and ordered the papadia Philly Cheesesteak w/Pizza sauce as dip. The order was ready on time and came with two sauces. I had asked this time, and pizza came a little crispier. Unfortunately still did not fit to image that was made about product in the States. For me a five star would be to get that crispy on the outside crust papadia. Otherwise, they stand by there slogan "Better Ingredients. Better Pizza."
