Paparepas Venezuelan Food (Kent)

This was a happy last-minute decision! I was exhausted from an IKEA errand day, and just wanted something good to eat that wasn't traditional fast food. This is kind of kitty corner of a McDonald's and though there is lots of parking, it's almost a hidden entrance to the strip of shops. I actually was going to go to a different place here, but this sounded so good as I walked by, I popped in! Not super familiar with Venezuelan food, it was nice that you could either order at the counter or on a kiosk which had photos. The staff was nice and friendly, and the eating area with really clean. They have counter high bar stools that line the wall and window, making it perfect to eat if you're solo, or with a friend (get it to go if you have a larger group). The food was amazingly delicious! Literally every bite was joyful! The rice was fluffy, the meat was moist, and the plantains added just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely eating here again!

Today I hit up their food truck in Bellevue, I had never had Venezuelan food so I didn’t know what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised how good it was! The flavors and sauce was amazing. The guy in the truck was super nice and helpful. Now that I know there is a location in Kent I will be coming back here for sure, so glad I stopped by!

The food is absolutely amazing! Just like traditional Venezuelan food. Delicious! The cashier was also super nice. The Tequeños were definitely my favorite !🥰

I ordered the pabellon bowl and yuca fries which were both really good. I had to ask my partner to take the food away from me before I exploded from overeating. Was definitely worth it and the portion sizes were good.

first time trying venezuelan food as a panamanian, i was very impressed by the flavor of the chicken and the pineapple juice, it was very delicious and very unique

Food was prepared well. Beef arepa was prepared well, but was more flavorful as others indicate. It was stained well, just not a strong flavor. There's a lot of cheese on these that's not melted. It's a commitment to eat that much cheese, so make sure you ask for sauces to offset the overwhelming cheese flavor and mild beef. It's all very tasty, and the cilantro vinegar flavor compliments the soft bread that the meat is in. The sauce and bread are the real show on what is essentially a shredded beef sandwich with shredded cheese. The sauce is good enough to buy, as they sell it in its own to go bottle. The chest Tequenos was essentially strong cheese in a rolled up puff pastry without any flavor in or on it that was pretty dry. Easy enough to recreate at home. The small space where it's best to take it to go with only about six right bar stools to sit. I will need to come back to try the empanadas.

The BEST Beef Arepa!! Staff was ridiculously nice and helpful, my hubby has dairy allergies and my sis is Vegan, they were so patient and so helpful, it was like eating home with family. My favorite restaurant thus far. Can’t wait to return. Strongly recommend it!!!

The Food Is Very Delicious, chicken Arepa and Reina Pepiada Arepa are my favorite. first time trying Venezuela Food and I was satisfied, I will definitely be coming back again.

There is no contact information if an order is incorrect. I was supposed to get 1 lb frozen plantains and received a side order ($5 price difference). The Arepa - filling was super yummy but I still feel feel ripped off with order inaccuracy. In addition, they have no contact info on their website to let them know of issues - so no way to remedy the situation...

A hidden gem; small shop location in a strip. The food comes out quick after ordering on kiosk or with server. Very flavorful and filling.

It has been a few years since I last visited this spot, but I remember it was delicious! We ordered black bean and cheese and a beef arepas. Both were oozing with cheese, nice and hot, and filled with flavor. This is a great place to pick up some good food to go.

Oh my God. This was some of the worst food I've had in a long time. Had dinner on a recent Thursday evening around six Ish. the place was totally empty. Menu looked OK but I asked for a wine list and they didn't have one. My New York strip steak dish reminded me of Swanson TV dinners. My wife's dish of shredded beef of some sort was not much better. Glass of wine in a rocks glass was $12. Service was good and ambience was excellent , however Just like Amazon, good reviews can be fake. You've been warned

Fantastic! We had some AMAZING arepas today when we checked out the truck at Overtake School. We tried the Domino, the beef and the vegan. They were all fantastic. I've always loved Venezuelan food and I'm picky about arepas--these were perfection! Now...to find these guys again and check out the rest of the menu!

Pretty disappointed with the food after reading such great reviews. Been wanting good empanadas, and still want GOOD empanadas after coming here. Nearly $8 a piece, not all the way filled, and totally forgettable in taste. Chicken and beef were both very lightly seasoned. Not dry, but hardly juicy. The cilantro sauce is incredibly mild as well, and tasted more mayo than cilantro. Paid $0.75 for an extra of the sauce which is like a limp ketchup packet. The churro wasn't any better. Probably 10 specs of sugar were stuck to it, practically naked. Plantains were good though. Not gross by any means but all very plain and I would not go again. Maybe I'm missing something everyone else is picking up on.

I absolutely loved the food! I tried the chicken and cheese empanada and the Reina Pepiada arepa , and both were amazing . Full of flavor and super satisfying. Definitely coming back for more!

I was living in Venezuela over 30 years ago and loved the people, the country, and, of course, the food. When I heard that there was a Venezuelan Food restaurant here, I wanted to try it. And there is a NEW one in Renton! It is all that I loved and have missed. The people there are excellent and very friendly. The ambiance is like being in a Venezuelan home. And the food ... true to form and delicious!! Try the pollo de crema (chicken with cream), pulled beef (so favorable). Have it on an arepa (man I love those), alone in a plate or on the "typical" Venezuelan plate (Pabellón Traditional). All of the arepas (try the sampler Arrepitas) are tasty and true to Venezuela & Columbia. And don't miss the plátanos fritas (fried plantain bananas). Okay. I will be back to try more food! You won't be disappointed. ¡QUE CHÉVERE!

The food truck was in downtown Auburn so we decided to give it a try. They are so organized it only took minutes to order on a tablet and get our food which was delicious. I opted for a bowl with rice, beans, a mix of veggies and some wonderful fried plaintains. It came with a choice of sauces and I chose cilantro which was delicious and added just the right amount of flavor. My friend got a port arepas and said it was yummy. They have a brick and mortar place not far from us so for sure we il be checking that out.

Driving by and by accident found this place , very nice people with great food ! Took some empanadas to go , chicken / cheese , beef and they were delicious!! Next time I'll try eating pretty much all on the menu !! I highly recommend!

Never had Venezuelan food before but this food truck drew me in. If all arepas are this good, consider me a fan! The Vegan Arepa was crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside, and loaded with a warm and satisfying filling. Kiosk makes ordering quick and convenient. Hope to catch these guys around again.

Location put it in West Seattle 98116. Only because my husband recommended this place and my son likes this place.

So good! I was in the area and decided to try this place out since it's been on my bookmarks forever. Super small shop with a few counter style places to sit in the corner. Extra bonus points if you speak Spanish as not all of the employees speak English. I've never had Venezuelan food before, so I don't know how authentic all of it is, but the vegan arepa was absolutely delightful! I really liked the texture and I'm pretty sure this would travel well back to work, so it might become something in my weekday rotation. Very nice portion of guacamole and all the fixings - I was *stuffed* and I didn't even finish the whole thing! Yucca fries were also really good. And that sauce?? Yes! I'm happy to see that you can just buy a bottle of the sauce because I've got some ideas for that one. I washed everything down with guava juice which was a nice change of pace from what I usually drink. Pro and con - they use paper straws. If you're not going to finish your beverage within about 30 min you should remove the straw!! I was here for many an hour total and saw MANY people coming in and out for pick up orders. Always a good sign, right? Definitely will be back!

First tried them 5 years ago, just finally had them again at the Puyallup farmers market and they are better than ever and the kiosks to order made things so smooth the beef is my favorite but this time I did chicken and cheese empanadas and they were so good

Came here one lazy afternoon on a whim, I was actually across the street getting poke but I felt like I wanted more of something else so I came in here and ordered 2 arepas and the guava cheese bites to go. I ordered the chicken and guac arepa for myself and the domino which consists of black beans and fresh cheese. My hubs really liked the domino and was surprised at how full he felt afterwards. I liked the chicken guac arepa but I kept thinking for the price ($9.99) I was expecting banana chips or something on the side to complete the meal. I think I'm comparing it to Subway or a drive thru restaurant where you can get a sandwich w/ a drink and fries for $10 so idk, I probably won't go here again because of the price but the food and service is good.

Delicious Venezuelan food. I usually get the Shreeded Pork Papa Bowl. Killer. A little pricey but worth it.

I have wanted to try this food truck for a while and was so happy to see them pop up on Uber eats. I literally ate every single bite sheesh!!! I had an empanada that was still hot when delivered and delicious! My plate was amazing as well! I will definitely be ordering from them again. Update: I've literally eaten here 3 days in a row! I'm obsessed!!

I had the opportunity to try Venezuelan dishes from their food truck and thought overall the food was flavorful and decent. The menu has arepas, empanadas, bowls, tequeños, and other items. Each order came with the choice of cilantro, spicy cilantro, or curry sauce packets. ----- Beef Arepa: Venezuelan-style slowly cooked shredded beef and cheddar ($10.99). The corn cakes had that slightly sweet taste from the ground maize and were not dry at all. The arepas were stuffed with a load of cheese and tender beef. For its size and price, I wouldn't consider it filling enough by itself for a meal though. ----- Pabellon Criollo Papabowl: a traditional Venezuelan plate with tropical rice, slowly cooked shredded beef, seasoned black beans, sweet plantains and Monterrey cheese ($12.99). The Papabowls are a good way to get a sample of various sides. The beans were well-cooked and seasoned, and the plantains were super sweet and soft. I liked that the majority of the bowl was comprised of the sides rather than rice. ----- The business also has two store locations: one in Capital Hill at Seattle and another one in Kent. Check their website for the calendar of the food truck locations.

Maybe I ordered the wrong item or it was an off day, but I wasn't all that impressed with my food from Paparepas. I had bookmarked this food truck for a while, so was happy when I found it at the Starbucks headquarters, as one of the rotating trucks. I was undecided on what to order, as the menu had a lot of items that sounded appetizing. Many of us were looking over the A-frame menu in front of the truck, so the employee mentioned he was happy to answer any questions and whatnot. I thought that was cool, especially if you're unfamiliar with Venezuelan food. Although I've never had an arepa, the bowl sounded delicious. When I first went up to order, I asked the employee what he recommended and he said the bowl was worth trying, so went with that. I ordered a beef bowl, which came with rice, avocado, shredded cheese and you can add your own sauce to it. The cilantro sauce is what's recommended for many of the items here. I did think the food was tasty, but for 13 bucks, I thought it was a little steep since it was basically a rice bowl with meat, avocado and cheese. The beef was good, and I liked the spice to it. But the proportion of it to the rice was off. There was way more rice than anything else, so wished I had more of the protein instead. That was the big disappointment for me with this entree. Avocado is always bomb, so liked that it came with it, for some fatty creaminess. I topped my bowl with the spicy cilantro sauce, which I recommend. It wasn't spicy but it had a kick to it, which added some oomph! Don't get me wrong. I liked the food, but wished it had been more bang for my buck. I'll try the arepa next time.

It's hard to find any other sort of Latin American cuisine other than Mexican, but this food truck reminds of the greater diversity that I'm used to on the east coast. These Venezuelan arepas are thick, with a decent, but soft bite to them. They're overstuffed with your choice of juicy meat to the point where it requires many napkins if attempting to eat neatly. The chicken and beef are good, but the addition of cheddar cheese is basic. The cilantro sauce is great and addictive though. I'm curious about the empanadas and guava & cheese tequeños, so I'll have to return at least once for them. Prices are a bit high and add up quickly for a food truck if you're very hungry and ordering a lot.

So for Latine/Latinx (not everyone subscribes to this) Heritage Month, I thought to check out this little place because Big Boys Kainan was closed (highly rec). Little did I know I was going to be blown away. Completely family owned and everything made in house. Fun fact: Their mascot was created by the brother and the dad in the kitchen kinda looks like him. Rolled in with a friend and we had their specialty malt beverage, tostones (double fried plantain chips), beef/pork arepa, and beef empanada AND THEY WERE ALL DELICIOUS. Look, if their in-house sauce doesn't get ya, then everything else will. The plantains were double fried to perfection The arepas were STUFFED and overflowing. The empanadas were so goddamn crispy. They were like, Vietnamese baguettes where you can strum your fork across it like an instrument and super soft in the middle. Btw, they're made using maize or cornmeal versus the spanish empanadas' that uses flour. In my opinion, these are SUPERIOR. Their sauces again were super tasty: cilantro, spicy cilantro, and curry. Yes, there's those that think it taste like soap, just go with the curry flavor. All in all, great experience. Friendly staff. Delicious food.

Considering their Venezuelan roots, highly acclaimed Yelp ratings and the most adorable mascot, choosing Paparepas for lunch was the easiest decision of my day. Their menu features a variety of arepas - which you can also customize or order in the form of a bowl - in addition to a couple types of empanadas. Take a closer look at the menu and you'll find a subtle note that mentions their "#10", the Pabellón Criollo Plate ($11), a traditional Venezuelan dish. With this type of cuisine being fairly foreign to my palate, I saw it as a perfect opportunity to try something new! The Pabellón Criollo is a combination of beef, black beans, rice and plantains, topped with cheese. For the most part, the components melded together well in a cohesive meal. I started with a bite of their shredded beef which was savory, super tender and surprisingly lean with no fat to be found! It was definitely the star of the bowl, as expected. Three plantains bordered the plate and their light sweetness contrasted nicely with the otherwise hearty ingredients in the dish. They were slightly caramelized on the outside and velvety inside - yum! Unfortunately, my only gripe is with regards to the rice, which was mildly infused with coconut. While not overwhelming, the flavor was a little strong for my liking and I believe plain rice would have been a better base. Overall, this was an extremely substantial dish and provided me with an ample serving of leftovers for the following day. If you would like to add an extra zip to your meal, fill a small cup of their cilantro sauce or curry sauce. Don't let the cool and creamy appearance of the cilantro sauce fool you. It packs quite a punch! It's zesty with a bit of acidity and the type of heat that takes a couple seconds to creep up on you. A little goes a long way! Service-wise, Paparepas stood out to me for one reason. I noticed two employees in the truck - one cashier taking orders and one cook preparing all the meals. Usually, food truck employees will call customers up to the window to pick up their food, but that wasn't the case here. The cook took service one step further (literally) by hopping off the truck to personally hand me my order and provide thanks for my support. This may seem like a simple gesture, but it left a wonderful lasting impression. Although I'm glad to have tried the Pabellón Criollo, it wouldn't be my go-to pick. It was well-executed as a whole, but next time, I would be more inclined to try their other specialty... an arepa!

If you need my heart, Paparepas has it. I had the chance to have Paparepas for dinner last night and I am in love. I have never had Venezuelan food before, so I wasn't sure what to expect in the way of flavors but all I can tell you is that it is deliciousness. I got the Paparepas Bowl - I'm a big fan of bowls and NOT eating anything messy, so that sounded like the perfect option for me. All bowls have a base of rice, and then you get to add three toppings. I did shredded beef, cheddar cheese, and avocado. I opted for the spicy cilantro sauce as well. The shredded beef is so packed full of flavor, so tender, and they give you SUCH a generous amount. Even the RICE tasted better than most rice I've ever had. And it was just white rice!! The spicy cilantro sauce definitely has a kick but it is oh so good. And, it's a homemade recipe! For $10, the Paparepas bowl is a fantastic deal. A steal, in fact, for the taste and quality you receive. The owner Grecia is an absolute sweetheart as well as the rest of her employees. If you see them, please try them! You won't regret it.

Paparepas food truck was located at another venue I was at and I was starting to get a bit hungry and decided to check it out. I ordered 1 Chicken Empanada and 1 Beef Empanada (~$8). The chicken empanada was stuffed with seasoned diced chicken mixed with cheddar while the beef empanada was stuffed with slow cooked shredded beef. I also tried their Cilantro Sauce & Curry Sauce available at the side of the truck after getting my order. The Empanadas were extremely fresh and super hot! They were oozing with flavor with every bite. It was slightly too oily for my liking, but I still ate them. Both sauces are a MUST. I've had cilantro sauce before the curry sauce really caught me by surprise. Both went well with either empanada. For ~$4 per empanada, they are really worth it. They're pretty big and was a solid snack! It was a good try and I'm glad I swung by.

Wow!! Where do I begin?! This place is phenomenal. Everything was amazing. I ordered the pabellón, guava & cheese tequeños, and a plain arepa. The stewed beef in my pabellón was so rich and flavorful. The plantains were cooked to heavenly perfection. The tequeños was so delicious; I never knew guava and cheese would be such an awesome pair. The sauces were great. Spicy Cilantro was my favorite sauce! The arepa was pretty good- I dipped the arepa in my pabellón bowl. Also the restaurant (including the bathroom), was very clean. I am so glad I found this place! If you haven't already, you should definitely give Paparepas a try.

I've been here a few times, as I've been lucky enough to have them bread work recently. Their food may not be the "prettiest", but I haven't had anything that wasn't tasty. The first time I went, I asked what meat they recommended and they said the beef. I got the arepa topped with beef and cheese. I got a bowl the next few times, the most recent being chicken with plantains and black beans- I mean, you just can't got wrong. The plantains were fried perfection and the chicken! Love it. Lastly- I HIGHLY recommend the guava and cheese taquénos- the bees knees right there! Soooo good. They usually toss in a couple packets of their sauces, I've had the curry and most recently the cilantro. DO NOT overlook these sauce packets- they take it al to the next level. If my love handles could take it, I'd eat here weekly.

This is for the Kent location. I found this place by accident while in the area. Delicious food, friendly people. I do not speak Spanish well but they were kind about it. I had a bowl featuring shredded beef, accompanied by black beans, rice, plantains, and cheese. This meal was delicious. I would drive out of my way to eat here. Priced well, and prepared quickly.

I ordered a bowl with chicken. The chicken was nice and soft and seasoned but the rest of the bowl with plantains and the dough pieces was quite plain. I ordered one cheese Arepa and put the chicken from my bowl inside of it and it was 10 out of 10 delicious. Their website also states that the empanada dough is gluten-free. I am not allergic only gluten sensitive and did not notice any issues after eating it.

Fantastic street food cart! Stumbled upon this in Westlake square. OMG, the filling of pulled pork and cheese in the arepa and the shredded beef in the empanada was fantastic! Full of flavor and amazing! They gave us cilantro sauce packets but you don't need them! Super hot, mage to order! Come here, it's amazing!

Very friendly service. I preordered via Uber eats and Uber eats said it was ready but when I walked in it was not. However, Uber eats is not the most reliable source. The gal at the counter was so sweet and so apologetic. Anyways, food. Today we ordered a shredded beef arepa, shredded pork arepa, and a BYO arepa bowl. The build-your-own arepa bowl is great because you don't have to hold your arepa and have the filling spill out and you can choose up to 3 toppings, to which I chose beef, Monterey Jack cheese, and plantains. The beef is tender and appropriately moist. I will have to try the other meats they offer the next time I visit! The guava tequeños were absolutely divine. They are fried golden and filled with guava paste and queso blanco. The saltiness of the cheese pairs well with the sweet guava.I'll definitely will be going back to try the tostones.

Highlights: - Pretty good combo option for lunch (especially as a food truck) - Food truck that takes all major cards (yay technology!) - Tasty tasty food made by friendly people After procrastinating on my visit to the Venezuelan kitchen for too long, I ended up getting arepas at Paparepas while they were in Bellevue. It just seemed like the best option and I hadn't seen them before. The line was long, but it moved along at a pretty good pace and I never felt like it got stuck along the way. I ended up getting a beef and chicken arepa (not the chicken salad, though I want to try it now) and had a taste of a friend's beef empanada. Across the board, it was all very tasty. They're very much fried meat pockets, and the bread is a corn-based Venezuelan staple that they definitely do very well. The meats are well flavored and not overly done or dry. The empanada pocket was also very well fried and it was just wonderful to bite into. If you're looking at their sauces, just slather that cilantro or spicy cilantro sauce over everything. Their curry sauce isn't bad, I just don't think it meshes well with what I ordered (but would recommend if you're into it).

Daaanggg! What a great food truck! Arepas, Empanadas.....I'm in! Came by Westlake Park in downtown, there they are...I had my sights on them so I zeroed in and got in the short line. Took me a sec to decide which arepa I wanted but I decided on getting the "Shredded Beef Arepa".The arepa itself was nicely made, crisp, warm, just enough dough to hold the meat in place. The slow cooked shredded beef was very flavorful, they stuff the arepa very generously with meat, the melted cheddar inside the arepa was wonderful too with perfect oozing as you take a bite. The beef n' chedda at Arby's aint got nothing on this!!! I also decided to get a "Chicken Empanada" for later, that was wonderful as well. Good amount of seasoned chicken with cheddar, the empanada shell was nicely fried up and crisp as well. I ate this later and it was still crisp. Get some dipping sauces, like the cilantro sauce and you will be so good to go! Staff was real friendly, the gal taking the orders was real nice, calls you "love" when taking your order and dishing out your order. Didn't take very long to get the food. Prices are actually pretty good for the amount of meat they stuff the arepa with. Overall, glad this food truck is around, definitely worth returning in my book. If you go to their website, they post their schedule on there if you are trying to catch them around town.

Good Venezuelan food is not easy to find in WA, which is why I'm always so happy to see the Paparepas food truck on my office campus every few weeks! I first discovered this food truck by chance at our office reopening event and was blown away by the flavor and quality of food. My go-to order is the traditional Pabellon - for $12.99 you can get a balanced meal of stewed beef, black beans, rice and plantains topped with melted cheese... delicious! Highly recommend pairing it with the spicy cilantro sauce as well. I've also tried the empanadas which are good but you definitely want to eat those fresh instead of letting it sit with the oil soaking through. 10/10 recommend checking out this food truck if you ever spot one in town!

One word: Delicious. We have only tried the shredded beef arepas with mozzarella and/or Monterey Jack cheese. The arepa is fresh and with good sazón! The tequeños are good also. The green cilantro sauce can have a kick of heat to it, but tastes great! Overall it's a must try, highly recommend!

After my workout, I came to try my first arepas! Ordered the shredded beef & reina pepiada(homemade chicken salad and avocado) with the cheese empanada combo (saved $1 as combo btw, steal). The cheese empanada was a 10/10 for both my brother and me. The cheese was super rich and full of texture. I would definitely order this again. Between the shredded beef & reina pepiada, I would get the reina pepiada but only because I love anything with avocados (9/10). My brother loved his shredded beef, rating it an 8/10. Overall, it really felt like a homemade Venezuelan food and I would definitely come back to try some more of their menu! Plus, their spicy cilantro sauce was to die for & I highly recommend all to try it with whatever they order. FYI They have a website for you to track down their food truck location.

Got the vegan bowl with guacamole and beans. Food was fresh and yum! The fried plantains were sweet and delicious.

So glad that Paparepas now has a storefront to sell their delicious food. They are very generous with the fillings for all their arepas. Highly recommend the chicken and cheese arepa, try it with the spicy cilantro sauce. The reina pepiada (chicken salad and avocado) arepa is like your regular chicken salad sandwich's more exotic cousin and at another level with the curry sauce. We also tried the beef and chicken empanadas - dough was soft, not too thick, and plump with well seasoned and yummy fillings. The family and staff who run this place are very helpful and explained a lot of the traditions with their food. We bought a Hallacas based on the tempting description of a tamale like bundle filled with various meats, olives and raisins that they only make around the holidays. These are made with imported ingredients and you can take one home frozen to cook for the family later. Excellent addition to the 84th Ave / 212th international food row right here in Kent! We'll be back to work through the rest of the menu! Look out guava and cheese tequenos - coming back to get you!

Note: this was a delivery order. I decided to order one of the signature arepas (chicken) and a side of plantains. Since I'd never had Venezuelan food before, I just rolled with it. The arepas "bread" is corn based, making it gluten free, and it was light and crispy--a texture that made it even through the delivery process :) Chicken had a lot of flavor and wasn't dry at all. Plantains were packaged separately and were cooked to perfection. My only two nits (and again, this is related to delivery): 1) I read all the awesome reviews about the sauces and made a note asking some to be included in my order--this was missed. The food had good flavor, but I really wanted to try this. 2) The order didn't have my name on it... sounds trivial, but this was a lunch order to my office and the driver said s/he didn't have a name, so she dropped it with the front desk. Fortunately, I had been monitoring via the yelp app and saw it was delivered and was able to get it, but even the receptionist was unclear who it was for. A simple sharpie on the bag or stapled copy of the order with my name would have resolved this (and is typical of what I've seen when ordering from other spots). Had a pork arepa and plantain chips from their food truck. The arepa was delicious, slightly crispy and stuffed with well seasoned pork and cheese, so yummy I'm now craving another one just writing this review! The chips were flavorful and not too salty, went well with the arepa. I will definitely have to check out their restaurant locations to try more of their menu!

It was so good. The outside pastry was made with a corn bread kind of base? And it was the tastiest, crispy and yummy in all the ways. Paired with the green sauce it was a delight. I don't usually eat empanadas but this one is making me change my mind.

First time having Venezuelan food in a loooong time and it was worth the retry! Food is very flavorful yet simple dishes. Very nice staff that will help you with picking which sauce for which dish. They are located in the old M Bakery space so just as before not much seating area. However driving past daily there is always a string of people grabbing to go so seating is never really a issue. I got the chicken arepas and cheese sticks w both the spicy and mild cilantro sauce and the curry sauce. All very flavorful and each gave the arepas a very distinct flavor change so much to my employees dismay I used a different one each bite lol.

Authentic Venezuelan cuisine in small, neatly packed bites .... excellent for office lunches... I tried the chicken and cheese empanada, beef empanada and the guava pastry wrap .... all around great, delicious beef empanada but having a "spicy tooth" I would added on some red pepper variety sauce like Sriracha ... but their Cilantro sauce (mild) it made it excellent ... food comes with Cilantro sauce mild-hot .... they've got a restaurant in Kent and a roving truck in the north end .... a must try !

Fast, friendly service. Delicious arepa :) I especially liked the cilantro sauce that came with it.

Woo-Hoo! Looking for some yummy food on the go that will not only get you full, but also hit that spicy and smoked flavor craving you're got? If so, you'll find it at Paparepas! We had their food truck at a work event a few weeks ago and boy was I glad to see them. I had never had traditional Venezuelan before, so I didn't know quite what to expect; but assumed it was be spicy and flavorful. I was right, but it was better than I was expecting! I had a Shredded Beef Arepas. It's served on a delicious bread with cheddar cheese. I added some spicy cilantro sauce to it (oh yeah, it was spicy alright), and it absolutely made the meal. Now, it was hard to eat while standing and totally messy ... but don't you know that some of the tasty food is messy, so it's worth it. They also have empanadas, which I love too, but was too full to get into that as well! If you happen to see Paparepas in the neighborhood, trust me ... stop there and have a bit to eat. You'll love it!

Paparepas is a wonderful option if you're looking for great Venezuelan food, everything from empanadas to custom papabowls. I love the the custom bowl with seasoned rice, shredded beef , avocado chunks, and Monterey cheese. Also when I walked in they were very busy but they still made the time to greet me and take care of me as soon as possible.
