Google
Why is this place rated so highly? The food was very mediocre - beef pho was OK, the beef pieces were a bit tough, the broth didn’t have much flavor. The shrimp spring roll with peanut sauce was also surprisingly bland. The banh mi with pork belly was mediocre at best - pickled carrot and radish just a little off, meat without enough flavor, and the only thing I liked about the baguette was that it was soft, which may be a negative for some people who like the crunch. The yam fries were the biggest disappointment of all, mostly limp and inedible, undercooked. The golden IPA from Pike Brewing and Pinot gris were fine. Why haven’t they converted the bathrooms to all gender bathrooms? There’s one for women and one for men; as per usual, the men’s was gross and women’s had a line. Exasperating experience.

I had a fantastic experience lunch time at this restaurant! The lady in the front was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely delicious, there was a Karen who tried to make a scene and almost ruin our lunch, but the staff handled it quickly. Service was prompt without feeling rushed, and our waitress checked in just the right amount. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is priority here. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food and excellent service

Google
Pho was good, portion was generous. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Her great attitude and excellent service really made our dining experience enjoyable. We’d be happy to come back just to be served by her again! Highly recommend

Google
Convenient location across from movie theater, great place to grab a bite before or after the show. Their menu is kind of fusion Vietnamese, but their Pho is very tasty. Also their thit bun, which is noodle salad with grilled pork. 😋 Their Banh xeo crepes were surprisingly delicious and authentic, had more fillings than the ones I enjoyed while visiting Saigon, but that's a plus for Papaya !!

Google
Papaya is a well-regarded restaurant located at The Landing in Renton, known for its exquisite Vietnamese cuisine. While the customer service is generally commendable, I did experience a problem in getting a refill of water. I had asked the male waiter for more ice and water, but he didn't return until it was time to settle the bill. Despite that minor issue, the restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere where patrons can enjoy delicious meals and then take a stroll along the strip or catch a movie next door. My favorite dishes include grilled pork belly with egg over rice in an iron pot, papaya salad with shrimp skewers, and oxtail noodle soup. If you find yourself near The Landing in Renton, I highly recommend visiting this establishment. Additionally, they offer a 10% discount for Boeing employees, which can be claimed by showing your badge to the waiter. Just make sure you genuinely qualify for this discount.

Google
The Thai tea is amazing!!! Beef Pho is great although the meat is rough and hard, and the broth doesn’t have much flavor, the fried egg rolls are delicious though

Google
Tough to review because in part great and in part terrible. On the positive side, this is about the best food I've had in the Seattle area! All the choices I have had are fantastic, but of course the pho is a cant-miss. Definitely recommend on the food alone. Unfortunately, the service needs to improve. I've repeatedly had a poor experience with one of their female servers (don't know her name). Doesn't greet, doesn't talk, pouty, "drops" items on table, no eye contact...just overall angry and unfriendly. I've come to the point where if I see her working, I'll go to Nibbaya Thai next door (also excellent). I will say the other employees are quite the opposite: very friendly and fun to talk with. I guess every place has that one bad apple. It won't keep me from eating here, but less often...and a lower rating for that reason. Still all in all, worth trying.

Google
Overall a very excellent place. We visited on a super busy Sunday evening, and could not have had a better experience. Service was great, especially our waitress. She was running the whole front end of the restaurant!! The food and drinks were really good, their Thai tea was amazing! Keep up the good work

Yelp
This place is surprisingly spacious. There's a big outdoor area plus a large indoor space you wouldn't expect from the outside. The employee who greeted us was friendly and helpful with recommendations. I got the grilled prawns and pork skewers noodle salad bowl. It was amazing and a generous portion. We also shared the fresh rolls appetizer, which was solid too. It came out to $30 per person including tax and tip. I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
Always a great experience. The waiters can remember orders without jotting them down, love the aesthetics such as utensils etc... the food is always good I had been craving it so my family and I went. The food this time was okay and I had the lemongrass chicken with a small beef pho broth. My daughter had a kids beef pho and hubby had the beef stew. The Thai tea was also a favorite for everyone and was really sweet

Yelp
Food comes fast and tastes. This food is come with fish said and garlic. It is perfect match with the sauce. The service is good too

Yelp
The ginger chicken pho always hits the spot! Bahn mi is pretty decent as well. Generous portions and friendly staff. This is my new go to place for yummy Vietnamese cuisine.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty solid restaurant for the Landing but nothing too special for me. The service was solid and is great to bring family to. I had the bun bo hue which was okay and missing the congealed blood (even though I opt out of eating it most of the time). The pho was pretty good and I think you should give it a try!

Yelp
One of the locals took me to try the coconut steamed chicken in a hot iron pot. This is legit. We ordered this house special and asked for extra crispy of the streamed rice. The flavor is quite delicious! The entree came out in a hot iron pot, silimar to the Korean dol sot bibimbap, with the crunchy rice at the bottom of the bowl. The hind quarter chicken leg over the rice top with fried challis's and green onions and cilantro. A mixed fish sauce accompanied it and if you add a little chili paste to kick it up a notch. I need to go back and try their Bánh mì and other specialties. So good. Pleanty of parking, off stree or parking lot behind the place. The staff are so accommodating and nice seating area as well.

Yelp
Excellent garlic beef noodle salad. The beef is tender and flavorful! Large enough for a hungry diner or to split.

Yelp
OH WHAT A RESTAURANT!! If teeth are the arms of the mouth, i welcome this locale with open teeth. If chickens are the eagles of the bird world... the crispy honey eagle with substituted fried rice was splendid. It's not often that an old dog like me feels my heart pumping with elation for new tricks, but something about a mysterious item on the wall made THIS canine's tail wag. it was something of a banjo/sitar halfbreed, blurring the line between American hillbillies, and India's subcontinental music scene. The chicken was doused in honey as though bee hives had been tossed in relentlessly with reckless abandon. If my hunger prior to this delicious adventure into the world of sustainance could be compared to a dehydrated fruit, I now feel akin to a plumb bursting with juice, drenching its surroundings.

Yelp
Happened to drop by at the Landing today and found this restaurant. Had lunch with a few friends and we all enjoyed what we ordered. I got the Beef pho which came with Brisket and Raw Beef. My friends ordered the chicken pho, beef friend ride, and vermicelli bowl with pork skewers! They were all tasty! Prices were on the higher side though. The restaurant was full for lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
I visited this place for the first time in about 5 years or so....and my.....god..... They now charge 18+ dollars for beef pho and 16 dollars for chicken pho..... Bahn Mi is...15 dollars.... Food is okay and service is good.... But no thank you at that price point.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
The food is so good! The customer service is a 10+. The restaurant was clean, the bathroom was clean. I will definitely go back and take family with me to enjoy the yummy variety of delicious foods.
google avatar

Seth J.

Yelp
Will give this place a solid 4 stars and this is why: Pros - nice and clean easy to get seated quickly. Service is good. Prices are super solid for the Landing. Food portions are good and drinks are good. Cons - my food is always a tad on the bland side and I have to add a lot of spices. *NOTE I am not a Pho lover so they might have amazing pho I am not sure. The parking is in the garage so can be a pain. I will come back again.

Yelp
Arrived on a Tuesday afternoon for a late lunch and it was a bit packed. One thing i tend to always look for is the broth. The broth here was watery, not as heavy with flavor as i wanted. The chili oil helped spice up the pho. I ordered the Oxtail pho. Their phos are all one size, which are medium sized. I only finished about a quarter of it. The oxtail wasnt falling off the bone with one bite. You had to bite and pull as hard as you can with your chopsticks. Overall, I wont come back here again. Not the quality of pho i was looking for.

Yelp
A nice, chíc and mellow atmosphere. This restaurant hit all the marks. Good service, tasty food at prices to match. The chicken pho had plenty of tender chicken and perfectly cooked noodles. Lovely cuts of ginger and onion. The broth was very nice and warming. The shrimp spring rolls arrive nicely cut and taste even better than their very lovely presentation. They're wrapped perfectly with nice bits of shrimp, cucumber, lettuce, mint and noodles. The peanut sauce is also very good. A tasty, creamy sauce with bits of peanut. Loved this. Also ordered fried rice and bahn mí to go. The packaging is hefty and well branded. Very modern and environmentally conscious. The service was kind. They were attentive and friendly. My water glass never reached more than half full. They kept refilling with fresh water and lovely ice. Will definitely be back again.

Yelp
I stopped by this place quite a few time already because I'm the type of person who usually eat at a place for 3-4 times before giving a thorough review. The food is quite decent for it's price and the place itselves is cozy. Moreover, there's usually plenty of parking and it's never too crowded, which makes it a comfortable spot. On this Tuesday, I was pretty disappointed with the service. A female server showed us to our table and was friendly when we first ordered. But after that, she went back to the front desk and stayed glued to her phone. I had to try multiple times just to get her attention for a small request. A few time prior, there were male servers who are actually putting the dedications into their job; just not this time. This made me feel uncomfortable and quite irritated to say the least. The server only came back when she thought we were done with the foods and ready to pay, which, yes once again, make me feel really uncomfortable.

Thuy N.

Yelp
The ambiance here is great, it's at the Landing across from Sharetea. We came here for lunch, the service was outstanding. They were very attentive. We ordered the oxtail pho and the bun bo hue. It was very flavorful. The price was reasonable. It's one of the best restaurants at the Landing that I would recommend for Vietnamese cuisine.
google avatar

S L.

Yelp
So the food is authentic and taste good and the space is clean and good size, however the price is real high. The bun bo hue is 18 and the banh mi is 15! This seems to be the price of Kirkland (and even more). So not sure what's the Renton landing rent is but I feel a banh mi of this caliber at 15 is 5 dollars more than it should be. The bbh could be priced at maybe 16 or 17 - because the broth is good and light and has good amount of meat but the actual quantity is low. I say that because I was able to finish 80% of the bowl vs anywhere else I could finish like 60%. Would I go back - yes because I like Vietnamese food but probably not as frequent as I would like because of the price.
google avatar

Asoke P.

Yelp
Cozy little Vietnamese restaurant with all the standard dishes plus a few unusual ones. All were well executed with upscale presentations. I had the noodle salad bowl with grilled chicken, my son thought his banh mi was much better than normal, my other son's fried rice was huge and tasty. My wife absolutely loved the pork belly and fried egg in stone pot. She had enough for 3 meals.

Big B.

Yelp
Upsetting I paid cash for the meal. The waiter closed the ticket but the manager comes running out accusing me of not paying the bill. If I had dined-dashed I wouldn't be walking slowly holding my girlfriends hand. Common sense is lacking and jumping to conclusions without investigation leaves a bad review.
google avatar

Trinae C.

Yelp
I've been coming here since around 2013. They've always had quality ingredients and clean atmosphere. Still to this day it's my favorite pho spot. Also the service is swift friendly. I'll always recommend this place
google avatar

Shelly S.

Yelp
The food here has always been amazing! Granted, I only had chicken noodle bowl and the classic Pho. Still, it's all about the broth, right? The food here is great, very personal, diner out on the patio you get to watch all of the Renton landing life walk by. The classic beef pho I ordered is great because you get a mixture of sliced brisket and steak. The portion is very filling and you will leave as if you at a ton! Unlike other places that you get a few pieces of meat and feel like you got robbed! This place is great and you wll love it!
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
I recommend the pork belly and fried egg stone pot with a side of fish sauce, it's my favorite thing on the menu. You can never go wrong with a taro smoothie. The staff are friendly, fast and made sure we were good and that our table was clean. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I wish I could give 100! I always find myself at the landing in Renton but never ever tried this gem of a restaurant and I've been missing out bad!.. My buddy is a regular with his significant other so he brought this place to light for me and I'm so thankful because now I'm going to spread the love and tell everyone I know to stop by asap. Food is amazing and came out fast that I was shocked , flavor is jam packed into every bite! Literally! I had the grilled pork chop with fried egg and rice (my favorite rice dish at Vietnamese restaurants) and my buddy had the ox tail pho with the spicy house broth I believe which is a few bucks up charge but it looked amazing as well. In my opinion I rank this restaurant the best Vietnamese restaurant I've been to since the late 90's when china town in Seattle had so much great places but nowadays it's tough to find anything close to the good old days. I will definitely come back and try the pho and other classic dishes like Banh xeo (Vietnamese savory crepe) and more! Thank you to the team at papaya will see you again soon!

Yelp
We went for some good food and we did have great food. The Pho, Bahn mi sandwich and steak vermicelli bowl were all delicious! However, our server was very unwelcoming and truly made our total experience there poor. She did not smile once, we had to ask for condiments for the Pho and when she brought it she set it at the end of the table without a word, where one had to stretch to get it. We asked for tea and a soda at different times and when she brought them, she asked us if that was all we needed then in a manner that said, "if you want anything else ask me now!" Wow, I get requesting drinks at different times might be bothersome but her attitude was VERY rude. When we left she was at the front and she didn't even say thanks or thanks for coming in or see you again. In these times you would think restaurant staff would be happy to have people come in. We are very nice and not high maintenance but it was clear she was there to only collect her paycheck. Food was good which was great but if you go hope you get a different server.

Yelp
Decided to go here for lunch, and I was so excited! I did a phone order. Upon walking in, the lady was super nice. I got the pork belly baguette and it was BOMB. The sauce that came with yam sauce was BOMB. The reason I have it 1stat was because the lettuce in my rolls were dirty & looks like it was decaying or something... with dirt on it. Very unsanitary. I wanted to puke because I ate majority of it but I didn't look at it. Then I saw the last piece and it was so dirty... they don't wash their lettuce? That's crazy. I would make a big deal about it but I won't. Please make sure your guys food is clean if you order from here.
google avatar

Grace Angel H.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in the landing! Order the salad rolls! It's delicious! The service was great as well!
google avatar

Vivian L.

Yelp
This place is pretty pricey for pho but it's delicious! My husband is relatively picky about his pho and this is one of his favorites. The broth is very rich and sometimes a bit salty but when you add in a squeeze of lime juice it is perfect. The classic beef pho comes with a lot of meat, which maybe justifies its higher price point. I haven't tried too many other dishes but I also like their beef and oxtail stew. Their Thai iced tea is also quite good (a bit on the sweet side but you can ask them to adjust the sweetness).
google avatar

Jm P.

Yelp
Man I really liked this place. I usually order the banh xeo and tofu/avocado roll but I was craving something light for dinner so I ordered the grilled shrimp papaya salad. When I opened the box it looked amazing! Skewered shrimp all toasted and the salad was so colorful, I was salivating! But then as I started taking the shrimp head off and the shells I noticed THEY DIDNT CLEAN THE SHRIMP POO! How are you going to charge $16 for a salad and not take the extra steps to clean out the shrimp intestinal tract? It's just gross. If I was eating inside the restaurant I would've sent it back cuz there's no way I would eat it with the poo intact. I don't mind paying $16 for a salad but that sh*t better be clean.
google avatar

connor O.

Yelp
Had chicken pho and tai tea, both were great. Service was friendly and efficient and location is good right in the center of the landing. Very nice inside and offers a good vibe. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
I order from here often and the food is consistently good!!! Price can be a little bit higher but you're partly paying for the ambience since it's a little nicer inside. Service is mostly good except they have messed up our take out order a couple of times. Mistakes happen, but food is still consistently good that we keep coming back!
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
We got the beef rice dish and the wonton egg noodle soup. Food was mid and overpriced for the serving size. The broth lacked flavor and the veggies in the rice dish were bland. They didn't have a spice rack, only sriracha, and the staff were not friendly. There's so many better Vietnamese spots nearby that you can support. Won't come back.
google avatar

Sophala P.

Yelp
There's so many dining options at The Landing (Renton). I've tried so many of them but this place has always been my go to. Today I decided to go with a rice plate and ordered Steak Cubes & Fried Egg. It was incredibly delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly, very juicy and tender. The vegetables were also amazingly flavorful, it was perfectly stirred fried in the sauce. Overall, I really like this place, prices are affordable and the service is great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
google avatar

Souliphanh V.

Yelp
Five stars Good authentic flavors Clean restaurant Awesome waitress 10 stars I ordered the stew, with ox tail soup was delicious all fresh vegetables Lemongrass spring rolls, good dipping sauce

Ruthy M.

Yelp
I called 30 minutes before I got to the restaurant. I ordered beef avocado salad, NO ONIONS, NO PEANUTS!!!!!!!! I got to the restaurant, told the cashier my order and I asked THREE times to make sure there's NO ONIONS. The cashier reassured me there's no onions, he even said, "there's not even any onions actually." WTF!!! The menu says there is which is why I asked for NO onions!!!! They asked me if there's peanut allergies, I said, yes... I just DIED TWICE!!! Can't go back to a place that can't cater to my allergies!!!! $20+ WASTED!!! There isn't any flavors in their salads at all; I've tried all of them before, NO ONIONS or PEANUT. This beef avocado had flavor; the flavor comes from marinaded meat. The beef is EXTREMELY chewy.

Katie N.

Yelp
It was honestly very good, the pho was delicious and bomb, The food came out really fast too but that depends on whether the restaurant is packed or not. They were checking up on people and honestly the whole atmosphere was really chill. They were really nice and served us really good food, 10/10 would recommend for a nice place to go eat out with friends or family only opinion I have on the restaurant is maybe they should have some bigger space and add more cultural decors but besides that it was really great

Thanhquyen N.

Yelp
I like the location and the service was great. Just wished it would use traditional ingredients and not use substitutes. Banh xèo...missing bean sprouts, don't use BBQ pork...use pork belly, don't use shredded green papaya...give more Vietnamese herbs (mints, purple/Thai basils, green mustards.
google avatar

Trav H.

Yelp
The staff was nice, I tried something I've never tried, the chicken lemongrass rice meal. It was a bit too strong of lemongrass flavor for my personal enjoyment, probably not their fault. I'll stick with curries in the future if I come back.
google avatar

Sean H.

Yelp
Very solid Vietnamese restaurant in the landing! Came here on a Saturday afternoon and got seated quickly. Forgot what I ordered exactly but the food was suuuuper good and flavorful. Crispy and hot. The food came out pretty quickly too, which was good because we were sort of in a rush. Water refills came quick and my friend's to go banh mi came out with our checks. Prices are pricy, but worth the money. Definitely coming back.
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
Ordered the papaya salad with grilled shrimp and the pork skewers. The papaya salad never made me disappointed, not even a bit
google avatar

Stacey P.

Yelp
Papaya is a cute little Vietnamese restaurant in the Landing. It has such a nice atmosphere - it is cozy without being crowded, great color scheme, and warm hues. I enjoy it! It is more expensive than many other Vietnamese restaurants but I was terribly impressed with the quality of the food. I shared the shrimp noodle rolls as an appetizer and they were fantastic! The rolls were perfectly balanced with shrimp and veggies and noodles with killer peanut sauce. I ordered the garlic beef baguette and was super impressed with it. The bread fell apart a bit, which made the sandwich a bit messy, but the beef was amazingly marinated and tender, the balance again was great, and the sandwich was amazing. I loved it! I drank their secret garden hot tea and I will probably pass on that in the future. It sounded tasty but even after seeping it for the duration of our meal the tea had a very mild flavor. It was more than enough tea for the two of us but I think I will try a different flavor next time. It was a great experience!
google avatar

Kc N.

Yelp
The food was okay but I don't think it was worth it. The place is pricier than most places. I ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl but it was kinda dry and bland. I did like the crab wontons but I really don't think it was worth the price. Service was great tho!
google avatar

Roger Y.

Yelp
Another delicious meal at one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants. The food here is seriously good. The house chardonnay (didn't pay attention to what vineyard it was from) is a bit lacking so I will go back to beer next time.
google avatar

Huong L.

Yelp
We came here for dinner and was pleasantly surprise. Service was good. They got us the menu and got us seated pretty quickly. After we order, the food came out super quickly as well. Food: we got the tofu appetizer and the coconut chicken rice bowl in the iron pot. The chicken was very tender and flavorful, the tofu was soft on the inside but crispy outside. The only thing was that I couldn't taste the coconut at all and the rice wasn't crispy even though it was in the iron pot. Otherwise, everything was good. Portion was good for the price. THis is not the typical authentic vietnamese place, but the food is actualy pretty good and they also have low carb options for certain dishes so that is pretty nice.
google avatar

Yelp
This me and my boyfriends go to place ! The staff are always super kind and they are super quick as well even when it's quite busy they are always tentative. The food is great as well ! The garlic steak noodle dish is my always go too. I can eat so much of it!
google avatar

Edna D.

Yelp
I used to like this restaurant for the foods they offer. But our recent visit for my daughter's birthday was not as I expected. The pho broth was not hot at all, the Vietnamese crepe I ordered was too oily. Not really satisfied with our recent visit here!
google avatar

LoAnn P.

Yelp
When I was living in Washington and just up the hill from the Landing, this was my to go place of choice. The pho is delicious and the egg noodle soup is out of this world. I now living in Arizona and whenever I am back in town, this is still my place to go. The food is so deliciously authentic and the service is awesome. Come here if you are looking for a good authentic Vietnamese place to eat!
google avatar

Sara J.

Yelp
My daughter and I ordered a lot of food because we like to share different kinds of food so we asked for extra plates. Both times the dishes had dried up food on them from not being washed properly. My daughter was about to take a bite of the fried rice and she found a bug in the food. I don't know about all of you but I don't want to get my extra protein that way.
