I am elated to post my amazing experience at Paper Source in Georgetown,Washington DC the last 2 Fridays. The store manager, Lara, who is the epitome of excellence worked with me finding the perfect decorative paper wrapping and matching ribbon for each gift I needed gift wrapped for my well planned event. I walked through the beautiful highly coordinated store for glitz and glamor unique items that would make my event memorable. Every employee charismatically approached me asking if I needed assistance. I felt special and that I was in fact in the right store and with the right highly skilled employees. Needless to say I left the store with multiple breath taking extraordinarily gift wrapped goods that was fit for a king or queen. I returned the following week and needed more items for another event. I briefly spoke with Lara and thanked her for an amazing job and that all of my guests inquired about how to find the store and get similarly wrapped goods. On this particular occasion Lara directed me to one of her very talented employees who wrapped my gift so amazingly that most of my guests lost their breath for a brief second upon seeing this gift sitting perfectly on a pedestal when they entered the room. This store is the place to shop if you are looking for the pop effect.

What makes this place shine is their staff! They great you when you walk in and they’re so helpful! I almost never know where anything is and sometimes I think of new things as I’m there looking around. They are never too busy to assist and they’re so friendly. The selection of items in paper source is always really unique and plentiful. I also appreciate that they have snacks haha love this place!

I love Paper Source. While they are on the pricier side, they have a good selection of super cute fun things and a great selection of gifts!

This is one of my favorite stores in Georgetown. The location is huge. They always have the most beautiful wrapping paper designs. Their card selection is unique and super cool.

I purchased 2 pet rocks for my nieces only to see that one had been already torn open and deceitfully taped shut.... now I can't give them as gifts or one of the girls would not be happy about getting a torn box... the cool box is half the fun..... horrible business for doing this.... you should be ashamed trying to save 10$ by tricking a customer into buying a used and ruined product.... not cool

They have a lot of your paper needs...pens, stationery, party goods, crafts, baby books, stuffed animals. They have a wide selection of cards. It was difficult to leave without a purchase.

Vanessa is an angel!!! She went up and down the stairs helping me, and she was the most patient and kind person ever. She helped me assess what would colors and quantities would be best over the course of an hour. I felt super bad about taking up so much of her and the staff's time, but they always were so patient. The whole staff is so joyful and excited to help! Love the store!

This paper source location has a wonderful selection of seasonal gifts, fine paper, journals and cards. My wife and I ordered our wedding invitations here many years ago and the staff was so helpful. I come here often to get my wife little gifts for her journals. Just a lovely store and a favorite of ours on M Street NW.

It was such a cute store to walk around in DC. They had books, candles, and some small fun gifts. The staff were very nice wrapping our pretty delicate item in paper before sending us on our way. We would come by again.

Oh how cute and fun this place is. I loved how spacious it was for a gift store. You could walk around even while they were busy and not feel like you were going to knock everything over. I have never seen so many beautiful wrapping paper options to make all of your gifts extra special. The gifts and goods were endless and unique. I loved the journal and pen section. It was so pretty how they had them curated by color. I picked up a few things for a Holiday Gag Gift Party but could have done some major shopping if I wasn't traveling from out of town. I thought prices were great. Very reasonable. The staff were super nice and the store was beautiful. I will most definitely go back on my next trip. Check them out if you need something extra cute.

I would live in this store if there were one near me. It's a journaling, hobbies, aesthetic, stickers lovers dream! Great place to grab a gift or just shop around. There should be a sale section though it's owned by Barnes and Nobles so maybe older products get shifted there.

I hadn't been to a Paper Source in aaaages when I walked in while window shopping in Georgetown. I love this brand and there's always such cute things to pick from! I found a Christmas gift for myself there -- a mini vintage cat monthly calendar. I can't even; it's so cute. If you're looking for a cute little gift, a nice greeting card, or some fancy stationary, this is definitely the place to check out.

Popped into peruse through. Lots of cute knick knacks including office supplies, jewelry, and accessories. Would recommend others to check them out considering their prices were relatively reasonable.

I remember this store for its epic collection and distribution of comic books and paperbacks about comic books in the Golden Age of that medium. It still haunts me thinking about the Secret Origins series, and how that led me even unto Howard the Duck and the X-Men.

Paper Source is a one level stationary shop on M Street NW in Georgetown. They have tons of cards, fancy paper, toys, etc. It's all a little pricey, but if you go in and buy a fancy piece of paper to hang as a poster, it's a cheap poster ($5-$7). We bought a cat poster for our daughter's room! The employees are friendly and helpful from our experience!

Lots of nice cards and gifts !!! Conveniently located in downtown Georgetown (not convenient for parking though). Nice employees. DO NOT buy balloons here!! The balloons themselves are fine but they charge you $9 to blow up balloons with helium (that's outside of the price of the balloon itself). So you have to pay $7 or so for the balloon and then $8 to blow it up. That's absolutely outrageous. Once I was desperate so I bought a balloon and had it blown up with helium there - the girl didn't tie it onto the ribbon properly so the balloon came off the string very quickly after I got it home! Unbelievable!!! So I paid $20 for nothing. What a waste of money. Get your balloons done at Logan Ace Hardware on U St- they're down to earth and well-priced.

Awesome location with plenty of seasonal, birthday, and everyday themed items. I hadn't been to Paper Source for a while, and felt like their selection has really expanded. The best part of the store, for me, was the craft station they had to be creative with the products. I made a really cute card to mail to my friend, and this inspired me to pickup a few more crafts, which is something I wish I did more of during the pandemic. Will be returning!

Paper Source is Papyrus on crack. They've quite the selection of paper products, arts and craft stuff like stamps, stationery, and fun items like pricey patchwork dolls, junky plush virus dolls, Hello Kitty lunchboxes, and coloring books. This Paper Source location is spacious and attractive, fun to window shop in, with discounts every so often to take advantage of. Staff asked if we needed anything - we were fine by ourselves - and I picked up a Listmania book for my friend.

had a great experience! the cashier complimented my corduroy shirt and helped me find what i was looking for immediately. the best customer service i've ever had :)

Wonderful store, nice and attentive staff, lovely selection of items (though fairly limited), but they don't have contactless pay (e.g. Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, etc). In 2022, are you kidding?! While I waited in line to try to find my CC number somewhere on my phone (difficult, since I never anticipated walking into a store nowadays that doesn't accept contactless pay), three other people were told the same thing. Two left without their items, one started rummaging furiously through her bag to find a physical credit card. Also, there's no sign informing customers they don't accept contactless pay, so you don't find out until you're at the register with your stuff. Really no excuse in today's age.

Paper Source is like AC Moores on steroids in terms of price, but the quality and creativity of the "raw materials" here far beats other craft stores. By raw materials, I mean the quality of their paper and the pre-made items with such creativity. This place is heaven for people that love to letter and have hobbies in making nice cards as gifts. It's a little different than Papyrus which has more pre-made cards for many occasions. This store lets you explore your inner artist. I've also been to other Paper source locations, but this one in particular is very nice. The store itself is very nice and well stocked. They have a second floor which is for employees only. It won't hurt to step in here while you are in Georgetown. Get yourself a planner/journal and a nice pen. Write down your life journey and keep moving forward!

My friends and I are big card makers and were in Georgetown shopping when we saw this little place. We went in and found a lot of supplies which were unique and that we had not seen before. The shop was clean and had a lot of really great and varied items. We loved looking around. The prices are pretty spendy though, which is why it lost a star. People working were nice and helpful.

Hello Paper! Goodbye Paycheck! When I was in college, my art major best friend Casey P and I would literally spend hours trolling all of the paper porn that was held within these walls. We would pass our fingers through the brightly colored, slightly textured, letterpressed cover stock and ooh child...did it just get hot in here? I have found so many clutch cards here that it would take me days to list them all. To make things short, let's just say I've been holding on to a screen printed Bea Arthur "Thank You For Being a Friend" card for approximately four years now. This card is so awesome that I have not found a friend worthy enough to gift this card out to yet. Since college, I have graduated from purchased pre-made paper products into making my own crafts. I've experimented with their flower making, gnome building, and banner creative kits with much success. When I got engaged, I signed up for their wedding crafts class before I even updated my Facebook status. Thanks to Paper Source I can now emboss and stamp like a pro. Their desk calendars are the only reason that I am able to keep track of my copious work related events. My handcarved wooden recipe box is lovingly lined with Rifle Paper Company note cards. I have found my "Le Pens" on the desks of sticky fingered co-workers. My wedding thank you cards was actually a box of vintage comic book postcards purchased from this store. There is currently two boxes of paper source products sitting right next to me now. To sum things up: If you want me to love you forever, get me something from Paper Source.

I will admit, d store is decidedly cute, with a bunch of fancy knick knacks I absolutely loved.. however, their selection for fathers day cards was super limited. One tiny wall thats about it.. Also, the lady ringing me was obnoxiously rude! I was so surprised, because I have never been to a paper source with rude service! Not only did she make a face when I asked her if they had any more fathers day cards, she rang me up and thrust my cards in my hand WITHOUT a bag or an apology for not having a bag! I was like - can I have a bag please.. She rolls her eyes at me.. We are out of big bags, would u like a large bag? umm.. No thank u.. Good bye., hope to never see u again.. I would have happily come back to check out their other stuff, now I won't..!

when I stepped in this store, I couldn't help myself to take pictures before the staff said' "no picture, please!" bitch!!!! I was screaming like a 5-year-old girl whenever I saw the funny cards and cute little toys + dolls, and played with those.. LOOK at this! LOOK at that! LOOK! LOOK! LOOK! YES, I did it.. =P this is the place where you need to go, if you are looking for special brilliant ideal greeting & event cards. actually, I didn't get anything from here, but next time or through the online store, I will! it's much better than other Cards & Stationery stores ever! we need this store in NYC soon! or should I say, NOW?

After years of receiving their catalogue, I was finally able to visit an actual location: Paper Source, the creative junkie and graphic designers dream. I absolutely love this store! It's inspiring, warm, colorful, bright and the staff is very helpful and welcoming. Whether you're looking for a gift for yourself or a friend, any type of custom made or pre-made invitation/card, rubber stamp or any type of helpful craft item, they'll have you covered. I'm in love with all their calendar/organization items (they sell designer names too, lots of Kade Spade, ban.do products and more). Also, this isn't an only female friendly store: they have male products as well! If you have any type of crafty itch or appreciate graphic design, you've got to step inside this store. It's definitely worth that first step!

Very cute shop with stationary, gifts, and cards. Very unique cards. Very pricey, unique cards. During my visit, a table was available in the back of the store for kids to create crafts. That's really nice! Second level was closed during my visit, so I was not able to view the entire store. The sales associates were very bubbly and perky. I know they are just doing their job, but too much perky in a short amount of time is a bit much for me to handle. . .at least next time I'll be prepared, lol

I've worked at the Paper Source in some capacity for over a year as both a customer service associate and workshop instructor. Paper Source is a "chain" store based out of Chicago, started by Sue Lindstrom (the quirky lady you see demo'ing on the PS website). There are 22 stores across the U.S. and PS has been slowly but steadily growing over the past 15+ years. If you've ever seen "Waste Not" products in other stationery stores (The Written Word, Tabletop, Pulp) those are from Paper Source, too! On the main floor, and what most people seem to know Paper Source for, are stocks of greeting cards by the bundle and of an ever-varying style. Stock changes as we get new cards in, so I've taken to buying cards on a whim and saving them up until the right occasion. The first floor is also home to KOLO albums and scrapbooks, ribbons and embellishments, journals, office supplies, novelties, teas, books (art, coffee table, how-to, novelty, etc), bookbinding supplies, and allllll the flat paper you can ever want to have (which ranges in price from $2.50-$12.00 a sheet, depending on style). If you don't meander upstairs you're likely missing out - PS has over 40 colors (with fun names like "Night" or "Rhubarb") in a myriad of sizes and styles of card and envelope. The second floor also houses pre-printed stationery and invitation sets, wedding invitation options galore, embellishments (eyelets, brads, paper punches, tape, scissors, stickers, rub-on letters and designs), scrapbooking stuff, rubber stamps, origami paper, pens/markers and a few other "in-betweens". I personally love envelope liners and templates. There's something about making your own envelope with magazine pages, or lining a boring envelope with cupcake paper that totally motivates me to write more letters, send more cards, and wow people with my awesome creativity (which is perhaps the biggest secret of all, as those things only take five minutes to do). Planning a party, wedding, new job, business? Everyone at PS is more than happy to help you work through your project whether or not you have no idea or too many ideas for what you want. Building something from scratch, working with pre-printed cards and kits, or letting PS take care of the printing - there's a ton of different options and combinations for any project or event here. Despite having never been through the milestones myself, I can confidently say I could throw a surprise 50th birthday party, baby or bridal shower, wedding, or bat mitzvah and create a bazillion different invitations, favors, and decorations all from PS. There really is no limit the possibilities of paper. Near and dear to my heart are the Workshops. If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone utter, "I'm not creative," I would probably be able to buy everything the store. In response, PS offers workshops in everything from bookbinding to cardmaking, paper flowers to wrapping gifts. Most classes are three hours and range in price from $45-85 - you'll learn from experts, be provided all your materials needed, and walk away with great ideas, tricks, and tips to get started on your own projects. The classes is fun and easy; you receive a 10% off coupon to use in the store, and classes here are much cheaper than taking a class from an art school in the area. Check out the website to find out what classes are coming up in DC or Alexandria. The most frustrating part for shoppers and employees alike? Stock. You can't predict when someone will come in planning a 1,000 invitation event and wipe out your supply of Chocolate envelopes, leaving the bride-to-be who walks into the store an hour later near tears. If you're planning any event or project my advice is to plan ahead - you'll be happy and end up with something super fabulous to boot. As anyone who has worked in retail/service for a period of time can likely attest: you can never look at a store the same way again once you've worked on the "other side". My eyes do not fill with glee when I enter the store as they once did, but I now fiercely love my bone folder, can make paper flowers in my sleep, and appreciate a good window display (which PS Georgetown is commonly known for). I left PS' employ as, with most retail jobs, the pay just wasn't cutting it, but you'll still find me moonlighting from time to time or teaching a paper flower course.

I went to this store yesterday after calling to make sure they stocked the same specialty wrapping/envelope liner paper as the Reston Town Center location. Immediately upon walking in, I start looking at the paper which is at the right of the front door. After about 30 seconds, an older white woman who wandered near me was approached to ask if she needed help. NO acknowledgement was made of my presence even though I was obviously selecting and holding several sheets of paper. As the associate helped her, and then proceeded to check her out, I walked to the register to see if I would be greeted and offered assistance. Yup, no such luck. I walked around this store for about 20 minutes obviously looking for something I could not locate on my own. During that time the young woman behind the counter continued to ignore my presence and came from behind the counter to assist those I have to assume she deemed worthy of shopping at Paper Source. Numerous people after me were greeted and offered help. I never was. I walked to the back of the store where I saw another associate, and I was ignored by her as well. I came in the store looking to purchase numerous supplies ($100 and up) for a housewarming that I am throwing at the end of the month. I parsed that out to about 20 dollars as I was being ignore. Each minute just resulted in me putting another item back on the shelf. I guess I don't fit the mold of what a PaperSource shopper looks like in their mind, but that's ok, I will just find another store that provides what they have, where I am treated as if me and my money matters. I also plan on calling the manager after posting this, so she understands that I will NEVER bring my business back. I would give them zero stars if I could. Businesses need to learn that you can't pick and choose your customers based on how they look or assumptions about them. If they have money to spend, and follows the rules of the store, they are worth having. Period.

What is it about women and stationary? If a girl ever looked at me with the same look of anticipation, excitement, longing, and joy that you see on the faces of the many ladies walking into this store, I think my heart would explode. Gentlemen pay attention, should you ever have the urge to be surrounded by a crowd of attractive, giddy women head over to this store on a Saturday afternoon. Loudly announce to the clerk that you would really love some "letter pressed personalized stationary" and whether there is a large selection of styles you can patiently browse through. Women standing around you will raise one eyebrow appreciatively and check you out. I have been dragged here a couple of times over the years. What can I say; It sells paper. In a bewildering amount of sizes and functions. This store proves that women are just more thoughtful and caring then us guys, for they sell a cute little card for every possible occasion. There is an upstairs, but before having to go up there to see what it was about, I was able to negotiate an early exit from the store by promising to buy the girl I was with dinner; there may be a bar and dumpling store up there for all I know. Point being, if you come here with your girlfriend, you will have to drag her out kicking and screaming. And probably drop at least $20 on paper. Otherwise, Mie n Yu is close by so you can pop over there for some drinks and wait it out. I really could care less about stationery, but because women love this store, and I love women, I dedicate 4 stars on their behalf.

***4.5 stars, but I'm rounding up because I'm feeling generous*** I have a confession to make. I have a font fetish. It's sort of like a foot fetish, only I love to seek out and collect unique and fun fonts to write letters the same way some sweaty pervert has a thing for his wife's rancid Naturalizer pumps. Only this has nothing to do with feet. Or sex. Or crippling shame. Come to think of it, the two aren't really similar at all. Eh... moving on. In any event, I had a thank you note to write, and even though electronic media has pretty much replaced traditional ink and paper notes for me, when I *do* make the effort to get all 20th Century and send an actual letter, I like it to look sharp. And to do so, I needed some paper that really stood out. So during my lunch break, I hopped a ride over to Paper Source. I was really impressed! They have a nice, bright, airy storefront with all the paper, cards, envelopes, stamps, pens, etc. you could want. And the prices were quite reasonable. There was plenty of nice, bright, fancy stationery to choose from. It took me about a good 15 minutes to make my selection. I like being forced to have to make up my mind as opposed to forced to have to choose the least undesirable thing on the shelves. And I also had a really positive customer service experience that I'd like to share. You know how a former server can't help but start stacking up their plates at a restaurant to make their server's job easier? Retail people have a similar camaraderie. I *hate* asking someone if they have any stock left "in the back." You see, if you've ever worked retail, you know how "the back" is this sentient, all-powerful entity that magically pukes out WHATEVER the customer wants, on command, even if you've told them you haven't seen a given item on the shelves in weeks (or God help you, if you've ever tried to explain just-in-time shipping to them). So it was with a hint of guilt that I asked Danay, the sales associate I flagged down, if they had any more plum paper "in the back." I really, really wanted it! Not only did Danay check on the sales floor for me, but she also checked the computer, which insisted there was at least one pack in stock, and cheerfully checked "the back" for a good 10 minutes. And while they were out of stock, it was honestly nice to have someone willingly take the extra time out of their day to try and hunt down something that in all likelihood wasn't anywhere to be found (or as she put it when I thanked her, she was actually upset because the computer said they should have an order in, but she couldn't find it). I really appreciate that extra dedication to customer service. I'm only dinging them half a star because they were out of certain color combinations of paper and envelopes. While it's definitely not their fault, it was enough for me to notice. But it's nothing major, and it certainly won't stop me from coming back. The verdict: While I'm sure most of us really don't write traditional letters much these days, if you find yourself wanting to do so, dress up your message a bit at Paper Source. For only a few bucks, you can pick up some paper, envelopes, and colored pens to really make your letter zing!

I love this store. Even though there are whole forests-worth of paper products within its four walls and the treehugging Birks-wearing hippy dippy San Franciscan side of me cringes at the carbon footprint, I can't help but fawn over the quirky tchotchkes (Halloween window clingees alongside fishing lure pens), the clever and cutesy greeting cards ("So you are having a birthday this year, too. Stop it! You're always copying me!"), and the sheets of beautiful specialty wrapping paper that this store boasts in abundance. It's my understanding that this is a chain store with branches in a number of cities (but not, alas, New York). However, chain or not, this is no Hallmark. Something tells me that this little gem would never compromise its charming and individualistic integrity to participate in those dreaded Hallmark-created "holidays." I mean, really, Hallmark...how many "Sweetheart Day"s, "Stepbrother's Cousin's Day"s and "My Dog Just Had Puppies Day"s do we need? Shame on you, corporate America.

I have a serious addiction to expensive paper products the way that some women have an addiction to shoes. It is not unheard of for me to go to Paper Source multiple times per week, or to walk in for 1 birthday card and walk out with $70 worth of Japanese paper that I'll use to line envelopes. Needless to say, I love this place. It has a healthy selection of interesting card brands that I like (they carry Tokyo Milk which is a personal favorite) in a variety of styles. They also have lots of little books and gifts, photo boxes and albums, and a pretty big selection of card stock, envelopes and sheet paper for the crafty among us. If you're old school and want to do invitations with a stationer, you can also do that the old fashioned way through this store. Some may complain about Paper Source's prices, but if you're a paper snob then you're used to it for the quality and style. If you're in Georgetown and hunting for a cheaper birthday card option, Barnes & Noble is just down the street and actually carries a ton.

Any store where most of the reviews are made by women, that's a store that I can get behind. Here in Jersey, we just have Staples or Hallmark or even Carlton's in various malls when it comes to paper presentations, cards, etc. But when I came in here, I was like a little girl in American Girl Place. I couldn't keep my hands off anything in here. The birthday cards alone are worth coming to Georgetown for, they are that cute and funny and beautiful. The store itself is just a wonder to walk through. Plus, the music playing in the store was awesome. Yes, they did play some Fiona (yes, six months later I still remember that) and they played The Decemberists as well. Needless to say, I walked out with a few birthday cards and a little sketch book for my niece. Just an amazing place in Georgetown.

Oh my God, Georgetown has changed so much since I've been around there. This place is definitely one of the better additions. First of all, just the space and the way it is decorated is beautiful. The gift-wrapping is so unique, the agendas and calendars pretty in their simplicity, and the invitations, save-the-date and thank you cards are so nice and a wonderful reflection on whoever decides to send them. The greeting cards are really pretty and some are incredibly funny and inspirational. i just wish they had a better selection of birthday cards, as I was on the hunt for really good cards for a couple of members of my extended family who are celebrating their days in October. OK, and I also skipped around hugging the adorable stuffed animals, saying "Wook at da boonie!!!!", so extra star to transporting me back to age 6. The ladies working there were not all up on us, which I definitely appreciated. One of them was actually from Lexington, Kentucky. One of the things I love about DC is that it is such a crossroads for Southerners. That's why it has a certain charm mixed with the urban that makes me homesick and will never be surpassed in my eyes.

Paper Source is a great place for arts & crafts - lovers. High-quality materials that fit a wide range of needs. The place is well laid-out, staff is friendly, and the store has an overall pleasant feel to it that'll have you wondering where the last 25 minutes minutes went. I recommend stopping by if you've got a small project in mind, or need to spark some present ideas.

It really is impressive, all the things that you could do with paper. And all the things that you could imagine to do, you will find at Paper Source. I came here looking for a birthday present for a friend. Finding a card was pretty easy, although I stuck around to read all the other ones on the never ending wrack because they were just too cute or funny. The present itself was a little harder because I had so many things to chose from. You have your photo albums to your funny books to your Ugly Dolls. I was really tempted to get her one of those actually, they are adorable. They also have an interesting range of Japanese products. I would have been really happy to see some Japanese (or generally Asian) stationary, but there was none of that. But I did find nice calendars that were drawn by Japanese artists, which were very pretty. All in all, the diversity and imagination of the store is very nice. I think that it's a bit on the expensive side and that the staff could be a little more helpful. I also didn't appreciate the Christmas songs in the middle of November, but that's just me.

DELIRIUM AND PAPER CUTS! DELIRIUM AND PAPER CUTS! Those are the only two things that come to my mind upon entering a stationery store of the caliber of Paper Source. I went in this weekend in search of a greeting card, but I managed to happily drown in a pool of monogrammed stationery, wedding invitations, and wrapping paper. I mean, I just don't know what to say. It's like the Anthropologie of paper things. There's just so much. And most of it costs a fortune, but it's all just so darn nice, so, like, does price really matter in light of effervescence and happiness and rainbows and such? I really don't think so. But, anyways, yes, wonderful selection of everything formerly tree. The greeting cards are hilarious, btdub. And the wedding invites are beautiful, if you need those sorts of things! And the workers all wear boho chic things that I would make me look like a hobo, but because they work at Paper Source and smile a lot, it works. And I smile.

Its a slightly expensive store, but so worth it. My god, I walked in and I thought I was in heaven. There were so many different supplies of every single colour imaginable. From planners to thank you cards to note books. From calligraphy pens to markers to clay. It had everything. The store is extremely neat and organized by colour and type of activity. There's a section for children's items as well. This is a place you want to go if you don't mind splurging on yourself a little and making yourself happy. I bought myself a blue planner from ban.do that says "I'M REALLY BUSY RIGHT NOW," and I swear it is my prized possession. The store is massive but the workers all know where everything is. They're also extremely friendly, but not those workers who constantly ask you how you're doing and if you need help. You can do your thing without them breathing down your neck. A little background. My sister is getting married in SEVEN DAYS. She is so anti-Bridezilla that she has become her own mutated and sick "Procrastination-I hate weddings-Zilla". There are so many things left to do that, as we met this morning over breakfast to work up a checklist, we were both unable to finish our food due to nausea. We must have looked like two frightened, feral animals as we entered Paper Source. Pupils dilated, heavy breathing, overstimulated by so many options. We stared at the wall containing various gift tags for a solid 5 minutes without any forward progress before an extremely friendly associate named Jenna offered to help. Not only did she help, she Saved the Day with a capital S and D. She showed us all the options, gave us guidance, helped us knock everything off our list and then some. She was amazing. She found hidden stock in the back room, printed up and labeled lists of items that we needed to find at other stores, just generally provided fantastic customer service. Turns out her Mom is a wedding planner and Jenna runs the wedding section at Paper Source - she's an experienced wedding person and it shows. She was amazing and I highly recommend visiting her at Paper Source if you need any wedding-related paper products. As for the store itself - Paper Source, like Whole Foods, makes me wish I was a different, better person. The kind who hand stamps gift tags with coordinating fine wrapping paper after home cooking an organic meal for my family. That person sounds nice. It's a great location with beautiful products. Will definitely be back.

This is a great store with some of the friendliest service I've ever had. The worst part about this store is that it's always so busy. They have great things here though, both little gifts and anything wrapping. My favorite part of the store is all of the wrapping papers that they have. You can literally find anything! They had some really cute dog and cat parent gift in the back left that were so cute. Since my boyfriend got a dog, we've both been obsessed and they have some great items. Highly recommend this place for any stationary needs.

I had been tracking Paper-Source on their website for a couple years now. They have a bunch of great demo videos to teach you some things to do with their supplies. I was so excited to find that when I moved here, there was an ACTUAL STORE in the city! The store itself, was absolutely awesome and more than made up for the downsides. Since so many reviews already talk about the pluses, I'll instead add some minuses based on my own experience. As an artsy/crafty person, my biggest frustration was parking. We found a lot a few blocks away but paid $16 for a whole day. That put some pressure on making a purchase and feeling like the trip was worthwhile. Often times I'll check out art supplies and then come back after I already have a solid 'vision' and know exactly what I want. I didn't feel I had that luxury. This is certainly not a store I'm going to visit just to get 'ideas' unless I'm already in the neighborhood. Second, I felt a bit mislead by the invitations and the cards I found in the catalog. There wasn't a good resource at hand for finding what I needed on my own, and everyone I asked pointed me towards the 'we'll design your invitations for you at a mark-up price" table. I definitely wanted to make my own cards but found that the store only sold packages of 10 or so products at a time OR a twenty dollar kit. The kits didn't have the paper designs I wanted and in order to get enough supplies to 'play' with some ideas I had, I would have to have spent a couple hundred bucks and have a HUGE surplus. That felt incredibly frustrating. In the end however, I found a girl upstairs who was kind enough to listen to my artistic vision and quickly explain to me the way their artists create their in-store demos and catalog models. it came down to the inserts for A7 products being slightly smaller than the standard A7 paper, because the inserts are designed to fit inside of envelopes. I would have thought that anything listed as A7 would have been the same size, so I felt I had gotten some 'insider' info. Enlightened, I was well on my way to getting the supplies I needed, but ended up spending about 3 hours in the store and 5 hours total for the trip including traffic, parking, etc. Oh, and the paper boxes and some larger elements that are on the website aren't actually in the store.I don't think they have enough storage space downtown. All in all it was a good experience. I don't think I'll drag my sweetheart with me next time cause there's not much for boys to play with once they get bored reading the funny cards and playing with the puppets.

It might seem silly to be so in love with stationery, cards and the like, but one visit to Paper Source may easily lead to love at first sight. They have great cards and gift wrapping and calendars. They have kits and classes with cute names like "wrapper's delight" to help you discover your inner Martha (sans the insider trading). They have amazing DIY options for invitations. Something really cool is that they're partnering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which can be a wonderful philanthropic endeavor for anyone in need of place cards or other favors. If I ever have to move out here at least I'll be able to find my favorite sources for things, Paper Source being one of them. Found them in Berkeley as substitute for Amsterdam Art's eventual cutting of specialty papers before they closed down completely. Great way to access samples and a la carte pieces, but even better for specialty items you are trying to track down. Has expanded to full array of gift items in addition to everything from gold-leaf papyrus to invitation jackets and pre-cut papers you can run through your personal or business printers. Gift items include some of my favorite trend-setting toys and companies from over the years ( Knock Knock, UGLY dolls, various letter press companies ). Do have practical items - i.e. tape - on hand, but not to be confused as an arts and crafts store. PLUS great presentation of vast assortments of items so you can quickly glance without having to rely solely on sample books or digging through bins -- pet peeve of mine when I am in a hurry for design ideas and quick shopping!

I had a dream last night that I was a Transformer. And I thought I was dreaming again when I walked into Paper Source today looking for materials for our wedding invitations! Two floors of wall-to-wall PAPER or anything related to paper that you might need! Beautiful colors! Friendly staff! Reeeasonable prices! The only bad thing is that just walking around that store makes me want to buy buy buy things that I never thought I could ever need. Like an embosser. Or business-card-sized envelopes. Soo cute! I was at Michael's the other day and was sorely disappointed by the selection of wedding stationary they had. Pretty tacky and trite. But the designs of all of the kits and packages that they had were absolutely adorable, tasteful and unique. Love it!

In the few months I was in DC, I would often find myself at Paper Source. I loved broswing through all the staitionary, cards, notebooks and all the other random knick knacks they have there. I would spend hours looking for a cool cards to buy so I could write to friends. Right before I left DC to go back home, I signed up for their catalog list and still get it in the mail. It brings me back to good times of DC. Now I think there are Paper Source stores close to me in Orange County but I haven't been to any other locations but this one.

Little pricey but what do you expect from these kind of places that sell overly cute paper for any event. All the stuff here seems one of a kind for that special time which adds to the uniqueness. Beautiful colours and very well organized I wish I lived closer to I could visit this store more often.

When I was planning my wedding last year, I kept Googling about DIY instructables and tutorials for paper products and EVERYONE was blogging about how they got their materials at Paper Source. Being as I lived in Orlando, Florida - AKA all I had to work with was JoAnns or Michaels, I just whined about it. I saw how glorious Papersource laid out their materials in the shops and could almost feel the cool breeze drifting through the doors upon the delicate sheets of paperstock and envelipes. WHIMSICAL SIGH. Finally, about six months later, I was able to pay this store a visit whilist on vacation (and en route for cupcakes, of course) and it was everything I had dreamed and wished for. Now, we live here in the DC area and I cannot wait to return again!

I love this place. Maybe because I used to go to their small store in Massachusetts. They have a wide assortment of paper, of course, and craft stuff!!! I made all of my wedding invitations, thank you cards, table cards, place cards, etc through them.... Have a great time there and check out their classes! If you cant get to dc, the opened a smaller in old town alexandria

I looooooooooooove stationary.... one of my friends has even go so far as to say, if I give her another piece of stationary as a fill-in-the-blank gift, she will hurt me lol and then I will never be able to buy stationary again... That said... I found Paper Source to be delightful... It is a little pricey for some of the stuff (you could probably find comparable items at Michaels or AC Moore for less) however there are some things here uniquely to the store... If you are looking for a quirky gift for that quirky girl in your life, look no further, you are bound to find it here... and it helps that it's on the main drag in Georgetown... Great card selection, great card stock...I can go in here and spend hours just looking around its two floors and feel like a kid in a candy store.

Oh, how I heart you, Papersource. I wish you would move to Hawaii so that I'd be able to get my paper/craft fix whenever it hits. On a very short trip to DC, my husband and I made it point to get to the store to see what it was like. Because we don't have one in Hawaii, I had been limited to drooling all over my laptop when browsing their website. The visit to the store did not disappoint! I could have spent hours in there! Shelves and shelves of cardstocks, stamps, papers, photo albums, books, and so many other goodies were there to tempt me. I picked up some letterpressed card sets and a stamp. I would have bought much more but it wouldn't have fit in my small suitcase. =(

I know this place as the former art store, where I bought all the brushes for my painting class in college. It's too bad they don't cater to painters anymore, but what do you expect--artists make for lousy patrons, whatever business you're trying to keep afloat. I like this store for all its niche book binding glues and whatnot. I didn't know there was such a market for these supplies, but judging from the size of the store, revenue must be good. Stop by here to pick up supplies for the family calligrapher, book-binder, or card maker.

This place is so cool. I go here to find stamps and fun papers for thank you cards for clients. Great staff. Always helpful. Always upbeat. Even during Christmas!

I came here to make bridal shower invitations and wedding ceremony programs. Both times the staff were very helpful and offered so many creative ideas (complete with example programs). I LOVE their different options for invitations - allows lots of room for individual creativity and for your budget (e.g. embossed invites vs. printed). Mine cost me a little over $2 each, including postage, which is significantly cheaper than ordering from an invitation service company. And the Paper Source has so many different options for design paper that you can find something for every taste. Here's my chance to brag that the wedding programs I made from my purchase here came out so nice that the wedding photographer kept the picture of them on his website. This is also a great place to get unique cards for mother's day, birthdays and for thank yous. I heart paper source.

I also love this shop. Made all my wedding invitations using quite a bit of their materials. It ain't cheap, but you have a ton of selection and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and generally very sweet. My fiance, now husband, even somewhat enjoyed it. They let me do some crazy stuff with a huge map on one of their work tables, which was nice. One warning: sometimes they run out of some of their popular supplies and have to get stuff transferred from their Alexandria store (which is also great). So be sure to give yourself extra time just in case.

I always wandered in this store, touching and feeling up all the paper in stock. I was not sure what to do with all the stuff. I then took a stationary class and it opened my eyes to all the things I could do with all of those products. The class was intimate, the instructor extremely knowledgeable and accessible. I learned so much with the short class, that I now I know about several tools, papers, and tricks of stationary making. I am now pretty set on making my own wedding stationary, not only because it's cheaper, it's really empowering to make and use all the neat items in the store. Michael's will NOT have this wide variety of paper, paper crafts, envelopes, liners, or embossing needs. Cons - Most of the tools sold here are much cheaper at Michael's. So, if you know what you need, go to Michael's, otherwise go here for the atmosphere, eye candy, friendly expertise and help.

Great store! I have to limit my trips there because I CANNOT go in there and not buy something. Paper Source has a wonderful selection of cards, gift wrap and craft supplies. They also have lots of unusual items and gifts. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Georgetown. Their website is great too. I ordered Christmas gifts through it this year and the ordering process was great. They also had deals on shipping.
