Paperfish Sushi is an absolute gem if you love fresh, beautifully made sushi with amazing flavors. The vibe is modern, cozy, and super aesthetic perfect for a date night or a cute dinner with friends. The presentation is gorgeous, and every dish tastes as good as it looks. The fish is incredibly fresh, the rolls are creative, and the menu has so many unique options that it’s hard to pick a favorite. The cocktails are just as impressive, and everything comes out with great attention to detail. The staff is friendly and attentive without being overwhelming, which makes the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall, Paperfish Sushi is a must-try for sushi lovers. The quality, atmosphere, and flavors make it worth every visit.

Update 10/9. Paperfish replied "Paperfish applies a standard service charge that is fully disclosed on our menus and receipts, and it’s distributed among our entire service and support staff to ensure fair and consistent compensation across the team." To this I respond. It is not the Publics responsibility to pay your staff. Compensation-That's your responsibility. And if audited I'm sure more than half of these restaurants would not pass the sniff test. Food was great — but the forced service charge was shady. The food at Paperfish was excellent and the server did a great job. But I left feeling frustrated and misled. A mandatory service charge was added to the bill without any clear explanation or signage. When I asked, the server said it gets split among staff and she only sees a small portion — but if I tipped extra, that part goes to her. Which I felt obligated to do. This feels like a manipulative tactic targeting tourists. I’ve eaten at several restaurants in Miami this week, and this was the only one to quietly add a charge like this. If you’re going to force guests to pay extra, be upfront about it — don’t make your staff explain it awkwardly after the fact. Tips should go to the server providing the service, not get pooled by ownership. Be transparent — no one likes surprise fees on their bill. Legislation should be written to force restaurant owners to pay staff properly and not tack it onto their patrons.

My friends suggested this place for a happy hour on a Friday evening. I got there a little earlier than they did and sat at the bar and was handed the menu for the Miami Spice month. It looked good, but I really wanted to try the happy hour menu my friends spoke of. So I had to ask for it. My friend arrived shortly after and we ordered drinks from it. The drinks not only were delicious, but also very appealing to the eye. The bartender was a little inattentive. She was on her phone for a long time, and genuinely I really don’t care, but I clocked it because we were one of the only group sitting there, and there was two of us, and then there was another person sitting by themselves, and we constantly were trying to have to get her attention. However, a second bartender arrived within 15-20 minutes and really turned the night around. We ordered a lot of sushi off the happy hour menu and all of it was amazing. So overall, this is a solid place for sushi and an adequate place for happy hour.

We stopped by here for happy hour and go enjoy some sushi. Please note the location is pretty interesting. It's before the train station, behind a restaurant..it's as if you're going into a parking lot and it's tucked away. Yeah u know that's a lot but it really gives the feel of hidden gem. The service was great we had a lovely waitress who was very knowledgeable of the menu. It was a Wednesday evening so it wasn't crowded or so busy. The decor and ambiance was really lovely. Now on to the food. We were not blown away by the options on the happy hour menu. We only ordered cocktails and the edamame from the happy hour menu. The cocktail was a big size for the price BUT it tastes more like juice. We decided to order rolls from their regular menu. We had the ACEVICHADO and SALMON FURAI rolls. I can't say we would go back because we are not in that area often. However, we would recommend it to our friends in that area of Miami.

Google
Pros: amazing atmosphere! Absolutely loved the creative and immersive decor. The food and drinks were, for the most part, delicious. And great happy hour deals! The highlights were the tropical yasai roll and chocolate ganache cake! The miso shishito peppers were also decent, but definitely was lacking in sauce. Cons: my friend thought the truffle fried rice was bland (I disagreed with her!). The restaurant was quite loud (mostly from the music, but also because it was crowded on a Friday night), making conversation difficult. The main thing detracting from our dining experience was that our waitress was extremely unfriendly and inattentive.

Google
Ordered the rainbow roll and hot truffle nigiri and it was sooo good! More than anything our server, Ana was so sweet and attentive. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and made sure we had everything we needed. Hope to be back to be served by her.

Fantastic food in a beautiful room . Highly recommend . In my top 5 for Rock shrimp tempura

What a find! We were casually strolling around Brickell and saw the cute entrance to Paperfish. Intrigued by it we decided to have lunch there and my I’m so glad we did. Service is top notch. Food is delicious. Everything we ordered was fantastic. My Bento box was full of flavor and plentiful. The zucchini spiral salad was fenomenal as were the sushi and truffle infused fry rice. Dessert was also decadent to close a fabulous meal. We are coming back with our friends for sure.

One of my favorites spots for drinks and good for Happy hour in the area! Nice ambiance and music as well

Yelp
We came here on a semi busy Friday night for some sushi. We ordered the baby corn, the jalapeño sushi and the Wagyu. I didn't realize that with the wagyu that you basically have to cook it yourself. you have to be quick because the actual hot stove cools off within a few minutes, so it felt a little rushed to eat it since we were sitting outside. I wish we were more about that prior to ordering. The sushi was really good. It was a little bit spicy, but still great. The baby corn was great. It was very unique and very well seasoned. I was also really happy with the shrimp that we got. It was perfectly coated in a sauce.

Yelp
This was for sure some of the best sushi I have ever had. We made reservations but did not really need them because it was pretty empty on a Sunday night. Service was very fast and we got our food within 20 minutes of being seated. Everything is so fresh and flavorful! Additionally, they have an amazing happy hour until 7pm. 5 pieces of sushi are $8 during the happy hour. they also have a few drink options on there for only $8. I highly recommend anything on the menu and would definitely dine here if you like sushi!

Yelp
Bogo spicy tuna roll on Grubhub? Yes, please! I ordered two along with a miso soup, and it made the perfect meal. The rolls had just the right amount of heat, and the fish tasted incredibly fresh. No complaints here. I'd definitely order again or even stop by in person!

Yelp
Went here for a friend's bday dinner last weekend and absolutely loved it!! The crispy rice app was a favorite, but truly ever roll was delicious and unique. The fish was fresh and the flavors were great. The fried rice was the only thing we ordered that felt a little simple and needed some spice in my opinion. Service was good, outdoor patio was cute and spacious, and martinis were great!

Yelp
Went for happy hour but it was almost over the server was nice enough to let me order two drinks and appetizers 4mins before happy hour was over. The drinks were very delicious and the ambiance was very nice. Was able to order Acevichado that was 10/10 the flavors burst into your mouth!! As for the Hamachi Jalapeño it was okay I wouldn't order it again it was lacking flavor. Overall it was a great night out.

Yelp
Paperfish is a good restaurant with a great vibe. Food wise, it has some options that are better than others but good overall. Service is definitely attentive and friendly. Menu has lots of options, and the wine list is simple but has some really good wines and sake. For those who like cocktails or hard drinks, it has a full bar nicely stocked.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem when it comes to their vegetarian options. I will be back. Bento box was delicious. It had the fried rice, edamame and salad. Staff super friendly

Yelp
WOW! What a great experience. Been trying to come here for sometime and the stars never aligned till this trip. Service was spot on and the food was an orgasmic experience. A hidden gem with everything to make you want to come back.

Yelp
On our way back from the Keys, I used the trusty YELP app to find this most amazing sushi spot. Started with a lychee martini and it was telling of the rest to come. Highly recommend the Black cod bites and Waygu gyoza for starters! I ordered the Paper tuna roll and again, awesome! The light citrus style sauce brightened up the dish perfectly! My husband ordered the spicy tuna roll and it was also delicious (I liked mine better...) we finished off the meal with a chai crème brûlée and cappuccino which was fantastic! We had Nicole as our server and she was very sweet and provided fast yet unhurried service. It was lunchtime so it was a little busy but still nice and quiet enough to carry on a conversation. We highly recommend this spot if you're ever in the Miami area!

Yelp
This place may be one of my favorite happy hours right now! First, a daily happy hour from 4-7 pm, as in yes, even on weekends! Second, you tell me how many happy hours you have found in Brickell on the weekends, much less a happy hour you actually want to go for. The entrance is certainly the most creative one I've walked through, with a replica of a torii (a temple gate) surrounding the staircase up. It was kind of hard to find, despite my putting in the correct address in an Uber. My friend and I had to walk around the block and past Barsecco a couple times before being able to find it. I couldn't even find it and it took a worker in the back of a building, asking if I was looking for the restaurant, and he pointed me towards the entrance. Once you find it, though, it is a treat to be inside. The ceilings are high, and there are cherry blossom replicas decorating the booth ledges to give it a cute Japanese feel. The cocktails are $7.95 each during happy hour and are well crafted. I had a Passion Fruit Martini which had plenty of fresh fruit flavor, without being overly sweet, as well as a Dragon Mule which is a Moscow Mule made with dragon fruit. The purple color of the dragon fruit made an ordinary fresh mule so delightful to drink. We sat at the bar and could see our drinks being carefully made, which explained the great quality of the drinks. The lychee martini was also incredibly great/strong, combining the candy sweetness of puréed lychee with the punch of vodka--- exactly what you want in one. They have sake, white and red wine, and beer for $6.95 during happy hour as well. Pretty amazing pricing for Brickell! The food offerings do not disappoint either. Each happy hour food item is $7.95 and are satisfying to have. We had two orders of the sashimi chef selection, and it came with thick cuts of very fresh akami tuna, hamachi and salmon. We shared a 5 piece roll of the Hamachi Jalapeño which was also fresh and flavorful but not overly dressed, so I could taste the fleshy hamachi inside with the zesty micro greens on the outside. Salmon Nigiri is also offered for four pieces in a dish, and I'm glad we got two orders of them. The sushi rice amount was just right for nigiri, and the salmon was the perfect amount of flesh and fatty that I wanted about 20 more of them. This was a great way to have some wonderful bites and drinks in the start of what turned into a night out in Brickell! I've already told friends about the drinks and menu items, and I'm already thinking about when to go back! You should try it too!

Yelp
Wasn't the easiest to find using Apple Maps walking directions but make sure you look behind the metro mover for the cute red stairs. The decor inside was so cute. Started with the spicy edamame, then ordered 1 Tuna Crispy Rice & 1 Salmon Crispy Rice and for dinner I had the Truffled Scallops. Let me just say the Salmon Crispy Rice & Truffled Scallops are AMAZING. Can't wait to return to order both items again.

Yelp
Food: overall a solid and casual japanese sushi experience. The selection isn't vast however that's a good thing when we're talking about keeping an inventory of fresh sushi. The uni nigiri was a bit fisher than I prefer but otherwise, sushi rice was perfectly seasoned. I enjoyed the fact that they offered furikake on top of sides of sushi rice. The miso seabass was a smidge too sweet otherwise it would have been five stars. Atmosphere: all of the other restaurants were blaring loud clubbing music. I'm really glad this place didnt.

Yelp
I was wandering down Brickell, half lost in thought, when a soft glow caught my eye. A paper lantern swayed gently above a sleek entrance, its warm light spilling onto the sidewalk like a quiet invitation. Stepping inside felt like crossing into another world. The chatter of the street faded, replaced by the rhythmic chop of knives and the melodic hum of conversation. The air carried a delicate perfume fresh tuna, toasted sesame, and the faintest hint of yuzu. My seat at the sushi bar became a front-row ticket to a performance chefs in crisp whites moving with the precision of artists, each slice and torch flame deliberate and beautiful. I started with the signature nigiri buttery salmon that melted before my mind could catch up with the flavor. Then came the Paperfish Roll, a masterpiece wrapped in soy paper, crowned with sweet mango and drizzled with truffle ponzu. It was bright, velvety, and electric all at once the kind of bite that makes you close your eyes and forget where you are. The bartender slid me a glass of sake, chilled to perfection and told me the story of Paperfish Sushi. A place built not just for dining, but for moments where Miami's heartbeat meets Japanese precision. I realized then, this wasn't just sushi it was a love letter to flavor, atmosphere, and experience. I left that night with the lantern's glow still lingering in my mind, knowing I had stumbled upon a place worth telling everyone and their mom's mom about Paperfish Sushi.

Yelp
Traveled to miami for the weekend and was craving sushi. This place had the best reviews/ambiance in Brickell, so made a reservation and came here for dinner. Love the decor inside. Dimly lit, yet modern. All of the food we got was delicious. My favorite was the crispy rice and the scallops that were torched tableside. Favorite drink was definitely the lychee martini. Amazing. Was a little had to find the entrance because it's tucked behind a parking lot, but definitley want to come back!
google avatar

Rajiv K.

Yelp
Beautifully designed, you walk through a Shinto inspired shine resembling entrance, a very pure Japanese experience. Hostesses were efficient, a little delayed from my start time but got me seated within a reasonable time. Our server was very kind, almost perfect but could have been a little more attentive with water fillings and checking in. Overall consensus was the food was spectacular but perhaps expensive for the quality you get. The sushi quality was fresh and tasty (I got the truffled scallops nigiri and the miso inspired roll). To be fair, you're paying for location and ambiance too, so all n all I felt it fair. I'd recommend and return!

Yelp
Love love this restaurant! Everything - food, vibe, and service - was perfect! And their happy hour is such a good deal too! For anyone who loves sweet drinks, I recommend the passionfruit martini. Their california roll is delicious, and their veggie roll is actually the best veggie roll I've ever had. The spicy edamame is great as an appetizer too! If I lived closer, I'd be visiting for happy hour all the time!

M B.

Yelp
Happy hour is a great deal. Service tends to always be a problem here but put up with it for the happy hour offerings and prices. Would be higher if the service was better.
google avatar

Isabella V.

Yelp
I got takeout from Paperfish, so I'm not sure how it compares to dining in, but honestly, it was very mediocre for the price. I paid $48 for two tiny rolls. They tasted fresh, but nothing special--definitely not worth it. I was disappointed and wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Yelp
All of food that I ordered was good but I loved the Wagyu-ni! Could not resist ordering a second round!!!
google avatar

Giang T.

Yelp
very pretty restaurant that reminds me very much of Japan from many cherry blossom trees to the orange gates (fox temple in kyoto) we had the PaperFish bento sets that are served with miso soup, 4 pcs tuna rolls, 3 pcs salmon aburi (torched salmon, truffle oil, lime zest), house salad, and pork+shrimp gyoza 2pcs and the chirasi poke bowl :) that comes with salmon, tuna, hamachi with edamame, avocado, cucumber served with soy truffle service was really quick, staff was so friendly and helpful
google avatar

J. Andrea Z.

Yelp
Tried the happy hour and it was great! The food has decent number of options for $7-$8 the plate, pf course is a happy hour portion that is smaller but adequate to try many small bites. The drinks are also good and tasty and in regular size. Would definitely go back. Parking is not as easy in the area so it depends on what your budget is, street parking is more difficult to find than flat rate garages.
google avatar

Eve Z.

Yelp
My friend suggested a girls' night out and recommended this place--I'm so glad she did! The ambiance was very chill, and although it was a bit far from home, it was such a nice, relaxing spot. Now, the food... absolutely amazing. When something is simple, it should be done exceptionally well, and this place nailed it. The quality and freshness of the ingredients really came through in every bite. Between the refreshing drinks, delicious food, and friendly service, it was a fantastic experience. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was great. Food was really good! Miso was some of the best I have ever had. Will definitely go back! Women's bathroom was not the cleanest, but could have been an off night.

Yelp
Came here for a quick sushi date w/ my bestie. Paperfish definitely exceeded our expectations. The food tastes amazing and fresh and the quality is top tier. I tried nigiri for the first time and their 'salmon furai' nigiri is a 10/10 . I had a blueberry lemon drop martini and a lychee martini. Both drinks were strong and the presentation was so cute. Very pleasing and beautiful aesthetics/decor. Our server was very attentive and even the runners were sweet and helpful. Definitely would came back and maybe try their happy hour!

Yelp
Saw a bunch of videos on TikTok and thought I'd check their sushi out! I came in on a Monday early afternoon, not much people, my friend and I were seated immediately. Food: 9/10 Everything was soooo good! Saw a bunch of reviews on the Truffle Fried Rice and it did not disappoint! Another favorite was the Rock Shrimp Tempura, so freaking good. They have a lot of sushi rolls to choose from which I loved, as well as Nigiri if you're interested. Drinks: 100/10: Shoutout to the bartender that was there, drinks were strong but so good. We have the Blueberry Lemon Drop and Lychee Martini, chefs kiss. She did her thing! Service: Our waiter Nikki was the sweetest, very helpful, checking on constantly. She was great! Decor/ Ambiance: This is what stood out to me the most, the minute you walk in, the cherry blossoms fill up the middle of the room which I loved. The dim lights give a moody/ cozy feel. Although we came during the day still had a great vibe. Overall, I absolutely loved my experience and will 100% be coming back

Yelp
Wow. Usually I don't write a bad review but this experience warrants at least a manager to review what is going on. They did not ask us for Acqua Panna but kept refilling our waters with it. We figured maybe they just refilled their water with tap in Acqua Panna bottles since it was not Acqua Panna. But no, they charged us. If you DO order Acqua Panna, please make sure they open it in front of you. Not sure why some items were on happy hour and others were not as we ordered everything at the same time. Food was mediocre and as good as a mainstream generic sushi place. I expected more from Miami but this was very disappointing. I generally do not write bad reviews or if I do, I still give 5 stars but if this review can deter possible customers from coming here, I hope it does. Sorry bro. This restaurant sucked.

Yelp
I had thee most amazing lunch experience here! When you look over a menu and want to order one of everything, then you know you've found a great spot! Our server made perfect recommendations for our table and both the inside and outside decor is beautiful! I can't wait to come back again for lunch or dinner!
google avatar

Nandi A.

Yelp
Good food, service, and ambiance. I went for happy hour, which I recommend if you're in a sampling mood. But the portions aren't super tiny so you could still get full. Some of my friends ordered mojitos and they also enjoy them. The cake was no standout though, and the bananas definitely could have been left out.

Yelp
This place was amazing! I heard about this place from my hotel and snagged a late reservation. Even as a solo dinner- it was great. The host was super nice in accommodating my request for a table and the staff was friendly! I got to aviccido roll which didn't live up to the hype but it was still really good. I was just expecting to be blown away by how others talked about the roll and it wasn't the case. The shisito peppers were delicious and the miso cod was divine! Even better than the other place where it's famous in my opinion.

Yelp
Love their HH menu and creative cocktails, for example: they do a spin on an old fashioned with tequila and mezcal; and a wasabi martini. Gorgeous interior and spacious outdoor seating. A+

Yelp
Was in Miami for work and my friend recommended that I check out Paperfish, said it was one of her favorite spots. It's really cool in there, love the vibe and decor. I also love the Japanese style entrance with the Torii - nice touch! We sat at the bar and ordered a beer and wine to start. We got the crispy rice which was okay, I didn't like the texture actually. I've had better.then we shared the omakase because we wanted a little bit of either. It's a perfect size for 2 people! Presentation is also just wow! So pretty. Everything was really delicious. Wasn't the biggest fan of the scallop but the fatty tuna, hamachi, ceviches... all fantastic. Clean cuts, fresh, good quality sushi. Nice spot!

Yelp
Paperfish has a really cool vibe and we were happy to stumble upon on it on our layover. We were surprised to get a table on a Friday night but we arrived just early enough to get a table. The restaurant filled up shortly after. Our server was very nice and really helpful. One in our party has a gluten allergy, and our server was happy to make recommendations on gluten free options or adjusting certain recipes so she could enjoy them too. The menu is family style so you order for the table. There were four in our party. We ordered two apps, 3 items from the menu, and the omakase for the table. Our server said the omakase was for two, but we thought it was plenty for 3-4. Overall, it was the perfect amount for our table. The sushi is some of the best I've had in a long time. Additionally, the cocktails are great. We enjoyed some of the house recipes as well as a spicy margarita off-menu. All were delish! There are even a couple mocktails on the menu, though I found them very sweet. I would have loved a tart option (no-jito?) or something more savory/spicy (like ginger).
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
This place is all style over substance. We ordered the truffle fried rice with added wagyu on top and split a couple of rolls and nigiri. The worst part is that there was a hair in one of the sushi rolls. When pointed out to the waitress she took away the plate and did not say anything/acknowledge the issue. She then tried to make us pay for the roll that had the hair in it and only took it off the receipt when explicitly pointing it out to her. Serving hair in your food is an extremely unsanitary practice and on top of that not acknowledging the issue and then making the customer pay for the hairy food is so gross.

Yelp
Paperfish is one of my favorites places in brickell. The combination of fresh delicious seafood and a very cute pink forward ambiance inside gives you the high scale dining experience without needing to wear a suit and tie. The staff is always so kind and helpful with recommendations. While not the most vegetarian friendly menu in town you can still find things to enjoy if you are looking to dodge seafood entirely. One of my favorite dishes is actually the miso soup. It's very simple yet flavorful and a great appetizer before you get to the main course. I also really love the inside / outdoor option. If it wasn't so hot out I would have definitely preferred to sit outside, but the inside was still a great atmosphere.

Yelp
Love love this place! I have been wanting to go back since the last time we went! I went during happy hour again, there has been some change to the menu but nothing major! Parking is so hard there , i did valet right in front of the restaurant but not related to the restaurant for $15 Drink: I had two lychee martini, so so good! Very strong. My friend had a passion fruit martini and it was not as good! Food: The sushi is really good there! Really freshh. My friend ordered the miso soup (not pictured) and it was really good. I had a gyoza (not pictured) it was good, the sauce is really good. Ambiance & Service; When we arrived, it was very quiet and then it got really busy. Joana was a server, she was very nice, ready to assist! She did make a few errors on our order but nothing big. Overall her service was amazing. Price; Our total for sushi and drinks that were on happy hour for two people came out to be $119 including an 18% surcharge that I'm not always a fan of but inflating is at an all time high so i guess i understand! I would say it was pretty expensive but the decor and service made up for it i guess‍ Maybe adding parking somewhere or complimentary valet would be really nice!

Yelp
Every roll was A M A Z I N G. Crispy Rice was perfect. Service was stellar. Music was a bit too loud but it wasn't really hard to hear my friends. Overall had a fabulous time here!

Yelp
Ultra hip sushi in Brickell. Four stars -- not as a criticism, but because there are TRUE five star sushi experiences around Miami (at much higher price points to be sure). Fun, buzzy room with house music and outdoor area (where we sat). Attentive service that had the same hipness (in a good way) as the whole place. The crispy rice tuna and salmon appetizers were awesome. We worked our way (slowly) through the nigiri, trying their scallop, their wagyu beef, and a couple of others before finishing off with their five-hand-roll plate -- all relatively small and all delicious. The also offer their version of omakase, which was really the chef's choice served all at once with a lot of fanfare with dry ice or sparklers or something that seemed out of place for an otherwise pretty cool and pretty good sushi place -- it was sushi-joint meets TGIFriday's for this diner. Pricier than the run of the mill sushi bar -- you wouldn't order from here for take out -- but good food and a fun night.

Yelp
It's giving Peruvian sushi, which is a nice and common fusion I've been seeing! The sushi portions and smaller than usual ;cut smaller so it fits nicely in your mouth which is nice! Interior and exterior was very nice! I will say it took a bit to find the restraunt because we took an uber and got dropped off, the gps said it was in a parking lot but we eventually found it. I would more so recommend this place during happy hour to take advantage of the drink deals! They do great drinks and service is awesome! Sushi itself for me is 3.5/5 for me! Nothing great but still a lovely time!

Yelp
Ambience has a soft touch to it. Lovely spacious setting and bar area. Food was so delicious and will add this to my favs when in Miami. Service very efficient. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service was very welcoming. The entrance can be a little difficult to locate due to it's positioning and lighting at night. However, this is some of the freshest sushi I've ever had. It was simply delicious. The crispy rice was so good, I ordered it twice.

Yelp
paperfish sushi is one of my go-to spots in brickell and it never misses. the service is always quick, the food and drinks are consistently great, and the vibe is lively without ever feeling overwhelming. this time we each had the shiitake miso soup and shared the spicy tuna roll - both were excellent. on a friday night the atmosphere was buzzing, but our service was still fast and attentive. i've been here countless times and will keep coming back. it's an easy choice for sushi in brickell.

Yelp
Had a great time here, even with our 1 year old! Our server Richard was incredibly warm, attentive, and accommodating of a dairy allergy, making sure to bring our kiddo veggies she could eat and keeping her veggie rolls separate from items that contained dairy. Love the mini torii gates leading up to the entrance & the decor. Being from Seattle, we have high standards for seafood and our meal met all of them. Nigiri and sashimi were very fresh & all the garnishes added great flavor. Black cod lettuce cups were perfectly cooked and delicious. Definitely would be coming here often if we were local! Plus, just steps away from the monorail.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere but the food unfortunately tasted like a cheap chain restaurant. I wouldn't come back

Yelp
Paperfish was on my list before ever coming to Miami. And they did not disappoint. We easily got a reservation for an early dinner on a Monday night. Our server was great and gave us suggestions from both the happy hour and regular menus. She was attentive and kept our glasses filled. Everything was really good. The fish is fresh. Here are the stars of the night. The wagyu bao buns are fabulous. The bun is soft, beef was soft with a crunchy outside and the sauce is not overpowering. The black cod bites on the appetizer menu were amazing. The cod was perfectly cooked. With a little squeeze of lime, they were perfect. Last, the acevichado roll was one I saw reviewed on Yelp and everyone was right. The light crunch of the shrimp and the sauce were great. Inside was nice. The sound with the music was hard for my husband to hear everything the server was saying. But didn't take away from the great experience. Well worth every penny spent.

Yelp
Stumbled across PaperFish after scouting to find a nice "girls day" happy hour spot. Finally settled on PaperFish and boy aren't we glad we did! First off the deals are pretty good (7 dollar rolls, select 7 dollar cocktails, etc.) Rolls were super good! I wouldn't go as far to say the absolute best I've ever had in my entire life, but they were still great and super tasty all the same! Loved how it paired with the soy sauce and the presentation. I also recommend topping it with the wasabi added a nice kick to the dish that was spicy but not too much where I felt overwhelmed or like I was fighting for my life . Just a heads up the hamachi jalapeño roll is surprisingly not spicy at all (and my spice tolerance is low). Only downside was that although everything was yummy, we definitely still walked out a little hungry. So happy hour portions weren't big or filling, but it's definitely enough for a light bite to pair with cocktails. Cocktail was very nicely crafted! I was super impressed. Presentation was also good. Service was definitely great! Our server was Maydel and she was super quick/efficient and suggestive! Ambiance is also perfect! Place is super cute from the entrance to the inside. Not too noisy or crowded or overstimulating. It was actually perfect for what we needed which was an intimate girls night. Definitely will be returning at some point and would definitely recommend.
