So I had just seen on Instagram that Papi had resumed their £1 oyster offer on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays earlier that week and since I was having a few pints nearby with a friend, we decided to pop in for dinner.
Unfortunately, the oysters had already sold out, so we’ll have to come back another day and hope for better luck. Instead, we ordered from the main menu. We chose the Coppa, the Crab, Leek and XO Sauce, and the Pumpkin and Sheep’s Curd Ravioli with Whey and Gorgonzola.
To go with the food, we picked a Spanish wine from Castilla La Mancha (my hometown), so I had to order it.
The ravioli was one of the highlights of the evening, but the crab, leek and XO sauce dish was especially delicious.
The service was excellent, and the best part was chatting with the sommelier, not just for recommendations, but also because of their impressive wine knowledge.
A great experience overall, and highly recommended if you’re in London Fields. But bear in mind, it is not cheap.
