Google
Im impressed! I didn't expect birria tacos from a chain to be thia good and the prices are okay in my opinion. Son tried the chicken and asada tacos ans liked them both. I let him have some of my muleta and he ended up eating the entire thing. Loved the consome. Everything was great!

Fadi A.

Google
Came here with the family reasonably priced quick service The food was actually really really good. We had a little of everything. The only thing is if you're not into spicy food I would avoid the berea beef. That was my only complaint. Also a plus Halal meat and chicken is available. They also have a really nice outside seating area sit down and eat. My favorite was the carne asada tacos!

Google
These tacos were so good that we came back twice in 24 hours…. The next time i’m in california this is going to be my first stop as soon as I get off the plane. They were absolutely incredible. Chefs Kiss. Full of flavor but not heavy on sodium.

Marvin H.

Google
The food was actually good even though I was expecting the food to look like the pictures that I've seen from other customers especially the papi OG burrito. It was supposed to have this red look to the burrito but it was just the plain looking burrito. Presentation is everything. Also I ordered a side of the Mexican rice and they did not give it to me. I didn't realize it until I got back to my Airbnb and I wasn't walking back just to get some rice. But other than that I would go back just to see if they will get it right the next time.

Google
It was good! The outside seating was clean and had a warm fireplace in the middle. The tacos were very tasty, and the amount of meat was great for the price. I’ll definitely go back. The staff was very friendly :)

Google
One of the best birria and soup I've had. It is also halal. We got the birria burrito and plate. Comes with radish and lemons. Left very full and satisfied

Google
Holy smokes this place was good. We had the tacos, the quesatas, the mulitas and were blown away with how good they were. The pollo asado was delightful, the carne asada was perfectly seasoned and delicious, and beef birria was out of this world. I personally loved the mulita the most, the crispy cheese makes it just dang delectable. We will be coming back over and over again. Oh and for dessert we got the churros with ice cream and chocolate drizzle and they were equally incredible. This place rocks!!!

Belly

Google
Got the birria tasting / combo platter and a chicken burrito with consume. The consume was lacking a bit flavour, was mostly just oil but still good to dip in. Birria quesatacos were the best! Took about 15-20 mins to receive food after ordering but it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Everything was a bit expensive especially if you add on avocado slices. Nice to have some halal birria & burritos nearby. Bathroom has a key you can ask them to use.

Yelp
Delicious!! My bf and I stopped here on our trip to SD on the way in through LA. Absolutely amazing little pop up restaurant. Excellent service very efficient, delicious food, and relaxed ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
Really good food and a great space overall, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Prices are on the higher side but pretty standard for the area. My only complaint would be that the customer service felt a little meh.. maybe the cashier was just having an off day. Other than that, I'd definitely come back again. Oh and they don't have a large drink selection; but do have some substitutions available.

Yelp
Fairly institution chain feel with a large crowd sitting outside on this warm September The og plate is pretty filling, a taco, mulita quesadilla.good value and is a taste of everything I saw someone eatting a loaded baked potato and a Mexican ramen fushion Next time!
google avatar

Regine S.

Yelp
This is my first time ordering from this place It is very tasty ambut I only gave them 3 stars because the size of each item in the OG plate were "mini sizes", so extreme small‼ Yes, I understand they called them street size‼ Everything was very good , and by ordering the OG plate I was able to taste just about all the items they sell there: Mulitas ( meat between 2 corn tortillas) Quesataco ( meat and melted cheese on a grilled corn tortillas) Regular Quesadilla (Street Size|beef with cheese melted in our grilled flour tortilla.) Taco ( meat and melted cheese on a grilled corn tortilla) And a small consume ( taco dip) I also ordered a side of Mexican rice By the way I noticed that they have more than one location My order came from the Hollywood location on Vine Street Yummyluscious

Yelp
They don't let you use their restroom if dining in. They don't say thank you or give you a receipt. Just unhappy workers here. Not a vibe but good food to take to go

Yelp
Papi's Tacos & Churros keeps Mexican classics very simple. They have birria, chicken, and carne asada, and all of their meats were very good. They are also halal - which was perfect since I stopped by here on a trip with a friend who eats only halal meat. I personally got two quesabirria tacos and a chicken taco while my friend got one taco for each meat. The tacos themselves are loaded, however, they are a bit small and pricey for my liking. The meat was juicy, marinated well, and the birria was nice and tender. The people working behind the counter were friendly, but I did notice that one of them was not really paying attention a couple times, so I did have to kind of wait for them to notice that I was there asking for a few items. We also tried their horchata, and it was watered down to me. I think the ice might've melted into it, but it just wasn't as strong as I prefer it to be. We also tried the churros with chocolate, and they were pretty good. As far as the restaurant itself, it's definitely a vibe. There are a lot of cars going down the street, so that threw off the ambiance a bit, but I'm sure this spot is best enjoyed at night. Either way, a solid spot for halal tacos.

Yelp
These little are to die for! They are small but deadly in a good way :) I got asada, chicken and birria. The salsa really packs a punch. All the condiments come included which is great
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
Ordered the OG burrito with beef birria, large quesadilla with birria and churro with dulce de leche. I'm not a big fan of birria in general but this place was pretty good! It's a simple menu and the main focus seems to be birria. The consomne was pretty good - flavorful but not too heavy. The quesadilla was thiccc with cheese which was a lil too cheesy for my liking and needed more onion but still really good! The churro was a little doughy but p good overall!
google avatar

J L.

Yelp
Beef birria taco was out of this world good. The beef is cooked for 16 hours. Also tried the smoked chicken. Love their sauces. Spicy and amazing.
google avatar

Alison L.

Yelp
Outdoor seating with fire to keep some of the tables warm. Kind staff. They were extremely busy on a Thursday night so it took a little while to get out to go order, but they kept things organized and it was totally worth the wait. The price is great and the quesatacos had incredible flavor. The salsa is delicious and the meat was amazing. The churros were so crispy out the outside and soft on the inside and tasted amazing with the dulce de leche. Their horchata and watermelon agua Fresca were also amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Alright, alright, alright--there's just something special about a place with a simple menu. To me, that means they've perfected every item, and this spot delivers. My partner and I came here last year, and let me tell you--it was so good. We had the Birria taco and burrito, and it was so delicious we even drank the Birria broth. Where do I even start? The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the beef was juicy and tender, and every bite was packed with flavor. On top of that, the inside was clean, and the staff was super nice. When a place gets the basics this right, you know it's the real deal. Definitely a spot worth checking out!
google avatar

Erica H.

Yelp
SO GOOD I came here with two friends and here's what we ordered: - OG Burrito with beef (2x) - OG Plate - Churro with chocolate sauce I haven't always been a big fan of birria but this place really changed my mind. The consomne comes in paper hot cups + lids so it's really convenient to take to-go if you don't finish. Everything came out relatively quickly on trays and included a couple lime and radish slices. The outdoor seating patio is great and they even have heaters when it gets colder. The perfect area to enjoy your food and have a nice chat with friends. I was able to finish everything from the OG Plate order by myself.. I was either really hungry or it's just that good! The staff was friendly and the place was well maintained and clean. They even have a restroom located at the outside of the establishment. You just have to ask and they'll give you the key.
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
They have great birria tacos and burritos. When you order them, they give you consome so you can dip your food in, which adds extra flavor to the food. You have to order your food before sitting down. The staff are quick to take your order and make the food. There is plenty of outside sitting enough for large parties.
google avatar

F D.

Yelp
Let's just say I left satisfied with absolutely ZERO complaints, a stuffed belly, and a smile on my face.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great place. It was our first time to go and we were starving after a fun night at American Idol. We had everything on the menu and it was all fantastic! We will be back! Quesataco what?????
google avatar

Yelp
TL:DR I'd rather go a few blocks up to Hollywood Blvd or Sunset and find good tacos The food is not good. Staff is all over the place. The place is just not what it could be. There's one cashier working for a line literally out the door. She's very sweet but doesn't pay attention and forgets to input items or inputs them wrong. We ordered some tacos, drinks, and few add ons. My friend wanted avocado in his burrito, but when we got the food, the avocado was added to two of my tacos. We told her we wanted two horchatas but she only rang me up for one. When we asked for the second one, she rang us up again. Food looked decent and I like that they give consome with each order but the consome isn't good so it's just a waste. The quesa birria tacos barely have any cheese and the tortillas are falling apart. The birria is soft but bland. The asada tacos were dry and fatty. The consomme was just straight grease. I know birria is typically a greasy anyway but a good place knows how to enhance the flavor through the broth. The horchata was watery and bland.
google avatar

Bayan M.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with this place. Hands down best birria tacos in town and the consome is a 10/10 I could drink it. It's a small menu but you still have many options, the burrito is great when you're super hungry bc it's huge. The churros are also amazing. There's a few parking spots and plenty of outdoor seating. However the service is not that great. The guy who took our order was a bit rude and seemed to not want to be there but ordering is quick so it wasn't a long interaction. Food is def worth it tho

Yelp
Mind-blowing. We found this halal Mexican spot on our second day in LA and proceeded to have our next 4 meals from here; it's that good. They have 3 meats to choose from (birra, chicken, carne asada) - we tried all of them with the burritos and plates (which come with one each of taco, mulita, quesidilla), and they're all delicious! Portions are enormous, prices very reasonable, and clean seating. Staff was very friendly too. Would highly recommend the birra and smoked chicken in particular, with their burritos being absolutely stuffed.
google avatar

Carrie R.

Yelp
I was in the mood for crispy tacos & this place didn't disappoint. I got a hard shell taco ($2.75) with birria & a soft shell chicken taco. Comes with limes & radishes. The tacos are street size & absolutely delicious. Shared parking lot with Winchell's Donuts. Great customer service.
google avatar

Cole S.

Yelp
Papi and Teddys red tacos are my favorite birria spots in all of LA! The consume is always so good you can almost drinkin it straight! The OG Burrito is almost my go to with birria of course! Some of the hottest but tastiest roasted hot sauce comes with it and make sure you have enough napkins cause right when you think you do, you'll need more! Papi always leaves me so full but worth it every single time to make the drive off Vine! If you're looking for good birria in LA, look no further cause this is the spot for you!! Don't sleep on the churros either! 10/10
google avatar

Wallace L.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! On a super hot LA afternoon we stopped by & got an OG Plate, some Birria Ramen & Churros. Girls who work here are cool & down to earth. Food is amazing. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Papi Tacos & Churros is AHHMAZING!!! It's really good and they give you enough food with a lot of consomè! I would definitely recommend !!!

Mary V.

Yelp
Totally disappointed with my recent visit to this place. I had seen very good reviews and was expecting a much better food experience. The asada burritos were dripping with grease, and our party of five was generally unhappy with their food. While they claim to offer authentic Mexican cuisine, we found this to be untrue, especially regarding the "homemade waters of natural fruits." These appeared to be made from concentrate and were overpriced. overall, I found this establishment to be overrated and overpriced. Additionally, the churros advertisement is misleading, as they are " dip it yourself" and you charge an undisclosed $1 for a tiny dipping sauce. I will not be returning to this place. The food was horrible! Not one person enjoyed their food, and we ended up leaving and eating somewhere else.
google avatar

Ellie R.

Yelp
Very limited menu, only 2 protein options but choice of taco, cheese taco, multias, quesadilla or burrito. The food came out pretty quick, but we quickly noticed the burritos were fully folded. Luckily the cheese held it together ok, but sauces and consumme were dripping down our hands. They had a lot of napkins at each table, but no hand sanitizer which would've been very nice. The food itself was solid, the salsa especially was amazing. The consumme was good, we drank some for fun. Overall a solid option with good parking. DAY AFTER UPDATE: took off a star because this definitely messed up my stomach. If your diet isn't already a ton of meat cheese and beans you're gonna end up in the bathroom for a while.
google avatar

Xavier L.

Yelp
You already know that I must make a point of visiting this place every time I'm in town. The tacos with the consome are simply delicious.
google avatar

Kiki K.

Yelp
I live nearby Papi's and had been wanting to try for a while and it didn't disappoint! I got the OG plate with beef which had a variety of items including a taco, quesadillas, mulita, quesaraco, and burria. I liked how it allows you to try a variety of types. The plate was delicious and I loved dipping them in the burria! They had a cozy little outdoor seating area with a fireplace but I ended up taking it to go! I'll definitely be back again :)
google avatar

Brigitte N.

Yelp
Both times I've been here have been exceptional! The food is delicious and always on point! First time there I got the birria tacos and OMG delicious! The second time which was just this past weekend I got the large quesadilla with birria meat and the salsa they gave me was soooooo yummy as well! It added a little extra spicy kick to it which I'm always in the mood for! Also I can't forget about the churros!!!! Super yummy and delicious and the chocolate sauce to dip it into

Barbara G.

Yelp
The food is delicious! My complaint is with ordering on line! Three times my order was not correct. This last time, they tried to blame the driver, which was absurd, since the bag is sealed and the driver just picks up the bag to deliver!!! Short changed and very disappointed with this location!!!
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
Amazing food!good service, and the ambiance is very nice here.the drinks are also very nice and cold!
google avatar

Saqib M.

Yelp
Our first food stop in LA was a taco place that serves halal tacos. The Bria tacos were one of the best I've had--so juicy and flavorful. I also got a burrito, which was huge but delicious. I just wished they had displayed halal signs, but upon asking, I was told it's halal and to check their website for more information.
google avatar

leyna d.

Yelp
First time having Birria! We got the large birria quesadilla and birria burrito. Super tasty, liked the quesadilla the most. The burrito was mainly just rice so flavor kind of disappeared a bit. The salsa that comes with it was rly good too, great spice level.
google avatar

Hovhannes K.

Yelp
Don't even get me started on how dangerous the churros are in this place. For those that wanna step it up, you can have chocolate and condensed milk drizzled all over it and add scoops of ice cream as well. It's definitely not something I want to be looking at if I'm on a diet and I am. So no ice cream or churros for me today but the service and food is good and the people are nice. I love sitting next to the fire and enjoying my food. You're gonna have to get here before 9 PM or else the patio will be closed, but they will still give you food to go for an hour after that. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing at the moment and the music that they play helps with that a lot.
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Just stopped at Papi Taco on my lunch break and I have to now mourn all of the years I've been working nearby and haven't stopped into this place!!!!:'( I had 3 birria quesatacos, small consomé, and a churro and everything was amazing! Some of the best birria tacos I've ever had! They are street size so I'd suggest ordering 3 or 4 tacos per person, but the small consome was plenty for me to split with another person. The churro was also the die for, crispy outside with a soft middle. Probably one of the best I've had! It was really easy to order at the counter and only waited a few minutes for our food. They also have a small parking lot if you're driving here and there's plenty of street parking in the area. I will definitely be coming back here!
google avatar

Gule C.

Yelp
We visited this establishment at 9:00pm with my family. We had a large party and there were no seats open, but there was an entire side that was open. We sat there because we had assumed that it was open to sit on. Then here comes one of the employees, Johnathan who tells us all that we could not sit there because they closed the side off. We had no problem with that. We waited in line to order food when the same employee who told us that we could not sit there, allowed us to sit there. Not even 5 minutes later he comes back to tell us that the side was closed. At that point everyone was confused. He began to argue with us about his own contradiction. The worst part about this was the fact that all the other seats were taken and that one of the members of our party was handicapped with cancer. After that we left. The customer service is down right dispicibk
google avatar

Azonde G.

Yelp
Food is bussin, staff is mid. Unhappy as hell. Wishing them the best of luck. Won't be back
google avatar

Yvette C.

Yelp
I have been to this location twice and I really like it! First time I went I wanted to try a variety of their tacos and each one I tried was delicious! The asada taste delicious and not cheap. The chicken was also great. The birria was amazing as well! The second time visit I had a burrito with asada, beans, rice and cilantro. If you're Mexican like me, you're not used to burritos with sour cream and cheese, but I'm sure that taste great, just wanted to feel at home. The burrito came with consume, and oh em geee it's mind blowing delicious! Their salsas also taste amazing, not watered down or lacking flavor. The people on the register both times have also been helpful and nice.

Yelp
My grandson and I were going to a new venue for a show and what is better than trying new eateries. My grandson, Buddy, was insistent that he wanted Mexican food. As we drove along he looks at all the restaurants and waits and waits until he finds Papi Churro, a new restaurant, that is mostly outdoors ( fully enclosed beautiful patio with a fire pit). but it has a large indoor ordering section. They are a street food type Mexican restaurant and they have a decent, but not huge selection. You walk in and order at the counter. You pay and they start straight away making your meal. We ordered a lot of food so we could really try everything. Once your food is ready you can take it to go or eat in the really pretty enclosed patio right out the doors. The service is really nice. Everyone there is super friendly and will help you with the menu. We loved their quesadillas and the churros. We also had rice and beans with avocado on the side and a burrito as well as chicken tacos. All of it was made right in front of us and all of it was so fresh. It really is great Mexican Street Food. Now, for me, it was a tad too spicy so if you don't like spice go elsewhere. But other than that it was truly great and I will be back, just mindful of what I can't eat. You will love it. Parking is free and easy in their lot. The prices are fair, not cheap. The service, again, is perfect, Have fun.

Yelp
So, I'm an old school fan of this place since they were in South LA back in the day. I've been supporting them from day one. Their signature items are their red consommé dipped taco shells and their delicious Birria and Smoked Chicken. It's such a simple and tasty menu. And you know what they say. If it ain't broke DON'T FIX IT. But for some reason, they decided to recently change the entire preparation of the Chicken Tacos without any notification to customers or any update to their actual menu to let folks know about these changes. To my extreme dismay, last time I ordered I received a box of chicken tacos with regular bland white tacos shells, undipped, and covered in some green jalapeño salsa that had a slightly creamy consistency that I hated. I thought they had somehow messed up my order, but nope, that's their new way of serving the chicken tacos for some strange reason. Why would you do this?! You've been serving them one way for years and now you decide to make them a new way without updating your menu. What if I'm allergic to that salsa...what if I would prefer the tacos dipped like I've always had them...why not give customers at least a heads up on the menu that your preparation has changed so they can request dipped shells and no green sauce, like always. And currently on the delivery apps, they have it restricted so you can't even add a note to say please don't put the new salsa on my tacos or please dip my shells. It's disappointing for longtime customers. I can get a white shell chicken taco at a million places in LA...if you've hit on something special don't screw it up. Give people options to order these tacos like you used to serve them please.

Yelp
I wanted to visit Popi Tacos & Churro because a YouTuber I watch Brennen and Jake Taylor reviewed this place. Well, we came to the wrong location. They were at the Santa Monica location. The churro just came out a basic churro nothing special with a side of caramel. Not what I see in the pictures. I hate to say it but I might be able to get a better one at Sam's Club. We were greeted when we came in, and gentleman was nice taking our order.
google avatar

Eliseo R.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I saw this place while looking for a place to eat dinner. And I am so happy we saw this place for sure!!! The place inside was decorated for Dia de Los Muertos and it was so cool!!! They had banners and a table that said Remember Me from the movie Coco. We were greeted as we came in and the lady who took our order was so nice and patient with me. I was in between OG Plate and the OG Burrito. I ended up with a great decision of choosing the OG Plate bc it comes with so much that had me feeling so full by the end. The OG Plate came with basically one of everything on their menu and it was so tasty with their consume!!!! I definitely recommend trying out the place. They have outdoor seating only and there is a fire to keep you warm near by.

Stacy S.

Yelp
Today I sent my husband to get me some tacos and the young lady was coughing so much with a bad attitude. He asked if she was alright and she said was smart mouthed so he politely said have a nice day and left no tacos for me n my baby.
google avatar

Maricar D.

Yelp
Wow! The fireplace on the outdoor seating area (no indoor seating) and the title "PAPI tacos and churros" sparked curiousity. We were headed somewhere else but decided to stop by here instead. Not one regret! The prices of the tacos, etc. were all fairly decent and the atmosphere of the place was bright and lively with Latino music playing. You place an order at the cashier and head outside to the outdoor dining area to wait for you to get called. We sat next to the fireplace and it was super convenient because it helped keep me warm as it was windy tonight. The area was clean and well-maintained. The O.G plate was so good! Having a taco, a quesataco, quesadilla, and consome all for $15.99 in one order sounded so delicious. She asked if we wanted avocado (which is extra, as expected, going for $2.50 more) and I said yes! There's only red salsa so that is very spicy, definitely be careful eating too much of it. I got super full from this order and am super happy that we came here instead. Also for dessert, the agua frescas, churros, etc all smelled so good inside, can't wait to eat those too one day! Thank you to the kind lady for taking our orders on Halloween night! - restrooms outside (need a key) - outdoor seating only - good pricing and good taste! - limited salsa
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
Excellent and flavorful! The birria and churros were fantastic! The customer service was great too. I'll different be back on a sunny day. There's plenty space outside to enjoy the food!
google avatar

Sergio G.

Yelp
Food- I was never a big birria person, yet I'll have this any day and the chicken is a different taste (smoked) then many other places, so it's good, love the consome. Service- It gets busy yet they get to the orders as soon as they can, thanks. Ambiance- Love the Mexican music, keeps the place original, authentic it self and it's clean.
google avatar

Sheena G.

Yelp
Amazing food and vibe. It is outdoor seating so was a little chilly. Food was really yummy! 5 out of 5 for food.
google avatar

Mandy H.

Yelp
The best birria tacos!! These are delicious and always hit the spot. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
google avatar

Imo O.

Yelp
Gonna keep it short and simple! Pros: the flavor of the quesatacos is 20000/10! So so good and everything that I needed! The churros (not pictured) were super fresh and warm! Cons: Though the folks working there are nice, the service is very slow so prepare to both wait in line and wait about 15-20 minutes for your food, no matter how small your order is. The quesatacos are smaller than other birria tacos that I have had at other places so take that into account when ordering. I would definitely come back here again because though the wait for anything here is long, the tacos make up for it.
google avatar

Juan G.

Yelp
Cool spot to have casual meal, I had the asada tacos and birria burrito, prices are reasonable. The service is a bit slow but good and friendly. Everything is made as you order. Portions are decent for the price. Definitely be coming back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Avoid this place at all costs. The customer service is absolutely abysmal, and the staff is shockingly rude. Despite leaving a 15% tip, I was treated like a criminal just for paying for my meal. I asked a simple question about the consomé at the register, and the woman behind the counter actually yelled at me to hurry up, as if I should somehow already know their entire menu by heart. She was far more concerned with rushing me through than actually helping a paying customer. The way they treat people here is downright disrespectful. I will never step foot in this place again-- they treat their customers like garbage.
