Papi’s Cocina & Cantina

The food is delicious, the drinks are yummy, the atmosphere is fun. The floors could be cleaner, and the table was wobbly but the food sort of makes up for it. Oh, and I think the place turns in to some sort of club at night. The back room has a stage, band equipment, and lights.

My husband decided to venture here from Nixa for an adventure. Upon walking in, I wasn’t a quite sure what to think. But it ended up being really good. The homemade salsa was tasty. Our waiter Noah was very kind and helpful. I tried a combo plate with a tamale, cheese enchilada and a chile relleno. We come from a city that has the best green chile all over, so it’s been an adjustment not having this option here for our Mexican food. That being said, the food was actually quite tasty. There is a stage for live music, and we look forward to coming back when we can hear some live music. Overall good dinner. Apparently they are remodeling the flooring and that will make a huge difference in the atmosphere.

Very good food and great service. We had a large party but the managed our orders and tickets flawlessly. The salsa was great with chip, definitely better than a lot of places. My mother's order came out wrong and they corrected it immediately and quickly. Everyone in our party left there with full a belly and a satisfied appetite. We will come back for sure.

This was one of the best Mexican dining experiences I have had in some time. The FOOD was EXCELLENT, the SERVICE was FANTASTIC, and the ATMOSHERE was PERFECT! You can watch sports, enjoy live music, or have a romantic date. The food was seasoned perfectly, even the refried beans were delicious. The salsa was definitely made fresh and had a little kick! You'll love the music and overall vibe of this Tex-Mex cantina. You definitely have to give them a try.

The food is always fantastic! However this visit wasn't as pleasing as the first. The service was subpar at best this time. Our waitress waited hand and foot on a couple that came in well after us! Even taking their order before ours. She wasn't very attentive at all. In fact she was the opposite, neglectful! *UPDATE* UPON FINISHING MY MEAL I NOTICED THAT MY BURRITO ONLY HAD MEAT IN THE VERY MIDDLE!! THE LAST 2 INCHES ON EITHER END HAD ABSOLUTELY NONE!! THAT IS LITERALLY HALF OF MY BURRITO WITHOUT MEAT!! NOW I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Sooo good and good service as well but we went at a slow time the shrimp cococina I think is what we got and ong yummmm!

Don't let an empty parking lot scare you away! My party of 3 decided to try this restaurant for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Fast friendly service from employees and delicious food. Tortilla chips were hot and fresh, and the unsung hero was the flavorful and spicy salsa. We had a variety of different dishes and all were fresh and tasty. Even the special request of "no cheese" for one member of our party was taken seriously and there was no cheese despite the beans coming with a garnish of cheese. This may seem like a trivial detail, but it is appreciated and takes a careful staff to pay attention to detail. The only criticism I have is a minor complaint, but customers should be aware that this restaurant charges over $2 for card transactions. Given the economy, I get it, but customers paying attention to their bill may be disappointed.

Great birria tacos, queso dip, tamales, and enchiladas. Will return!! Edit. Returned and was not happy with what we got. My shrimp dish was made with bagged frozen veggies that were cold in the middle of the big pieces. Was not impressed for $14. And my girls chicken dish was beautiful but completely lacked in flavor and for being an "artichoke" side, there was not a single artichoke on the dish. No salt was used either obviously. It was not good. Best part was the rice. Even the $15 margaritas was lack luster. Didn't taste like any liquor was added. Probably won't return again. Don Pedro's always impresses us! Hands down Edit to the edit: went back today June 20th and had the birria tacos again and they did not disappoint. I guess I'll stick with these bad boys. Margarita was alot nicer too! Thank you
