The 17 Best Restaurants In Allapattah

"Papo Llega Y Pon is a sandwich counter that serves a good, simple, and very affordable pan con lechon. They also have tamales, congri, and a few other things—but you're coming here for the pan con lechon. Both the small and medium size clock in under $10—and the small (about six or eight inches, we’d guess) is plenty for a quick lunch break. It’s a simple sandwich: lechon they chop up right in front of you, diced white onions, a little mojo, and hot sauce." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo

The Best Meals In Miami For Under $15

"The Meal: Pan Con Lechon, $8-10 Papo Llega Y Pon is a sandwich counter in Allapattah that serves a solid pan con lechon on cuban bread. The small size is just $8 while the bigger one is $10—and the small (about six inches, we’d guess) should be plenty for a quick lunch break. It’s a simple sandwich: lechon they chop up right in front of you, diced white onions, a little mojo, and hot sauce. Places like this are becoming harder and harder to find in the City of Miami, so pay them a visit and whisper “thank you” into your sandwich." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino

The Best Things We Ate This Week

"Pan Con Lechon Another great thing from that $10 guide was the pan con lechon from Papo Llega Y Pon, which is an essential Allapattah spot. It’s getting harder and harder to find affordable sandwiches this good in the City of Miami. Papo Llega’s version comes with shredded lechon, diced white onions, a little mojo and hot sauce, and soft Cuban bread. And I wouldn’t change a single thing about it." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea

We visited this spot because someone mentioned it. We walked up to the place, the music was blaring, and it smelled like outdoors. Inside, there was a dining area, pool tables, bar, and gaming machines. It seems like a place that would get very busy at late night. We ordered the pork sandwich. We were asked if we wanted sauce, to which we said yes. The sandwich was very vinegary. Honestly, I wasn't a fan. However, the lemonade was really good. Moreover, the portion was good for the price.

It IS the best Pan Con Lechon in Miami and Zion, the Jamaican chef is THE man. This may not be a hipster spot but it is not to be missed. Cubans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Jamicans all converge here. The "Flauta" is an entire Cuban loaf double stuffed with pork and onions feeds 4. We had leftovers because we ordered a small with no onion for Laurie. It's massive. Juicy, garlicky. Haunting.

The sandwiches were good. I saw on Instagram that they were supposed to be top notch only drawback was they put ketchup on the pan con bistec which my wife hates. Overall the food was three and a half out of five stars. Not bad but I expected more

I stopped by after reading a review to try the pan con chicharron. There is no such thing. They have pan con Lechon or pan on bisteck. I tried tbe Lechon option and it was ok, nothing to rave about. The atmosphere was not the best. I would not take children to this place, at least at the time i went (2 - 3 pm).

This is my second time coming to this place .It’s even better than when I came the first time . I’m from Georgia and came to Florida for vacation and stood in Orlando. Had to drive down to Miami just to eat PAN CON LECHÓN ! Just delicious the pork is juicy and well seasoned . Onions vinaigrette and hot sauce is a must . Ladies in the front are super friendly and always smiling . Strongly recommended .

A true hidden gem in the city. Papo Llega y Pon might not grab your attention at first glance, but don’t be fooled. It’s one of my go-to spots when I’m craving a to-go pan con lechón. The place doesn’t stand out visually, but the quality of the food speaks for itself. Perfect for those seeking authentic, unpretentious flavors. Definitely worth discovering!

We came for tripleta but was told only pork or steak . They didn't have a menu to look at so I just said pork . It didn't look good its only pork, bread and onions but it was actually delicious! It had crispy fat renderings in it too.
