It's been over eight years since I last visited Pappadeaux, but this year I decided it was one of the restaurants I wanted to go to for my birthday. Even better, I got to bring my sister--actually, she treated me for my birthday! If you live in Marietta, you know there isn't a day when this place isn't packed. I mean, never, not even on a Monday (which happened to be a holiday). Despite the busyness, there was plenty of seating, and my sister and I chose a booth. We had a great server named Jevonte--shout out to him for being efficient, informative, and fast.
Now, I know you want to hear about the food, so let's get into it. For an appetizer, my sister and I went with the crab and spinach dip. Not going to lie, that dish alone was filling, but we were just getting started. We each ordered a salad: I chose the classic Caesar salad, and my sister opted for the house salad. Honestly, those could have been meals by themselves, but we weren't done yet. For my entrée, I had the fried shrimp platter with red beans and rice, while my sister went for the Jumbo Shrimp Brochette. I loved my food--the shrimp was perfectly cooked with a nice crunch, and the red beans and rice were some of the best I've had, fresh and delicious. Although I'm not a fan of tartar sauce, both the tartar and cocktail sauces were amazing. My sister enjoyed her meal as well, although she mentioned the bacon-wrapped shrimp was a bit salty, but the dirty rice she had as a side was excellent.
Overall, I won't let so much time pass before visiting again!
