Google
Love the new vibe at PappaRoti! The new owners are super friendly, and the buns are as amazing as ever — soft, warm, and full of flavor. Pairing them with their chai was just perfect. Definitely coming back!

Google
Plenty of seating here, so finding a spot to sit and enjoy shouldn’t be an issue—definitely worth hanging out for a bit. The menu leans toward sweets, especially buns with options like ice cream, toffee, and more. I’d recommend trying the karak tea (basically strong, spiced tea)—it was a great pairing with the bun. We went with the Biscoff bun, which was good overall with butter inside adding a nice flavor. That said, at $13, it does feel pricey for what you get. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, with symphonic music playing in the background—more of a cozy coffee shop vibe.

Google
We had a terrible experience at this establishment. The chai we were served was 5 hours old, as admitted by the owner/manager , and it lacked both flavor and color. Despite ordering 6–7 chais and 6–7 buns, the quality was extremely disappointing. When we raised our concerns, the owner was rude, abusive, and argumentative, instead of addressing the issue professionally. While he later attempted to serve fresh chai, which was slightly better, the damage was already done. The poor service, combined with the owner’s attitude, ruined the experience for us. We left without finishing our chai or buns, feeling like it was a complete waste of time and money. I would not recommend this place at all!!! Our first experience was the same still thought of giving second chance but waste of time and money then, and now!

Google
This place was fantastic. I’ve never heard of it & just wanted a coffee, but the menu looked interesting and I decided to give it a shot. Did not disappoint.

Google
I have never been to this place despite many of my friends having recommended me to taste their signature buns. Now I understand what I have been missing out on. Last week we finally stopped by this place. I’d say although the ambiance is elegantly casual (if that's a valid term), their service, the assortment of floors they offer make this place really sophisticated. We treated ourselves with a Turkish coffee, hot cappuccino, an Oreo shake & a basic bun. Turkish coffee had an intense flavor, never had anything quite like it. The bun had a super light & airy texture. Melting in the mouth plus the right amount of sweetness that paired seamlessly with unsweetened coffee. Had a good conversation with the owner, quite a decent gentleman. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice cozy space to share coffee & cake with friends/family or otherwise.

Google
Third-Class Service!!! The service at [Papparoti, Naperville Location] was absolutely atrocious! The tea was served after being stored in a thermos for at least 5-6 hours, and this was confirmed by the server/manager (I'm not sure who the disrespectful and intolerable man was). The tea was incredibly disappointing—bitter and harsh, with no discernible aroma, like drinking burnt leaves. Attached photos shows difference between 5hrs old tea on left in comparison to fresh team on right.

Google
Amazing Karak Chai and Signature bun. Seems to be family owned, very friendly people and wonderful vibes! Will definitely be back

Google
Karak Chai and Signature bun were really good. Staff were friendly and service was great. There appears to be some sort of odor in the seating area. Would recommend addressing the issue asap if you want the business to be successful.

Yelp
Walked in right at close with a basic knowledge of what they did but not quite getting it. It's basically a coffee/desert restaurant. I got there close to close so I didn't get the chance to try the coffee but the machines looked VERY IMPRESSIVE! I bought two deserts (way more than one person could eat but I figured it was a good investment into a new business. The fruit was EXTREMELY fresh with a crisp finish, the roti was very good though I've never had it so what do I know. A sweet crisp on the outside, fluffy like a cloud on the inside. It really is a delicate well done desert that isn't overpowering. The guys who were working were very friendly and answered my questions without any concern that I was there at close. I don't know if this is the type of place I would frequent because it's so specialized and I just don't drink specialty coffees and such but it is def going to stay on my radar for when I'm looking for desert for me and the kids..... and the place is brand new I think or atleast it felt brand new, everything was sparkling and clean.

Yelp
Amazing place!! Went here for the first time :) had their famous Bun and kadak chai! The dough for the bun comes from Malaysia !!

Haley P.

Yelp
Went here with a group of people and they had plenty of seating. Most of us got the classic bun. Didn't know what to expect and it was pretty good.

Mathew N.

Yelp
Too pricey, $12.99 for a loaded bun and the portion size is smaller compared to the ones I've had from the same franchise in Malaysia. The ambience is meh and barely 3-4 customers on a Saturday afternoon. Overall, the flavors are good but will need to cut prices to attract repeat customers. Service was okay.

Kelly G.

Yelp
First time visiting this place and we were shocked! The staff who took our order were super nice and welcoming! The place is quiet, and clean. We ordered the up north bun and it was delicious, just the right amount of sweetness we were looking for a Friday night! I will 100% be back for more buns!

Ishani B.

Yelp
Beautiful cafe with lots of space for friends and family to enjoy. I was happy with my drink although it was a little extra sweet. The biscoff bun was tasty with a crunchy outside and soft center however the mango strawberry bun was slightly disappointing. Overall experience was neutral. I would go again since the couple that owns it were super sweet.

Naveen W.

Yelp
It was worth the drive to go here, owned by a very nice Pakistani family.. the place was very clean and very spacious, the owner was super accommodating about everything, and everything we ordered was just delicious.. we ordered biscoff, signature buns, and Nutella buns; everything was delicious. If I ever go back to Chicago I will definitely go again here cause of the service and the fresh food.

Juveriya M.

Yelp
I'm glad this PappaRoti is open after the downtown location closed. This place serves chai, hot buns, and ice cream. The karak chai is great and has a great spice profile. It does come sweetened but it's not overly sweet like other places. The buns are delicious, soft but also has a crunchy exterior. I got mine drizzled with caramel! The Bun costs $5 and the drizzle costs $2. I think the extra drizzle should only cost $1 though. The place has many tables and comfy seats to chat away. The menu did not have any savory items like small sandwiches though. Lastly, the place closes at 8 pm so I wish it was open later like the Chai places on Roosevelt Road.

Vivian H.

Yelp
Blown away by these coffee buns, I got the mona lisa which comes with the coffee bun, vanilla ice cream, strawberries and bananas drizzled in chocolate and caramel sauce. The top layer of the bun is a "coffee caramel butter" cookie layer packed with flavor. Definitely coming back again~ I also got the biscoff shake but honestly think it could use more biscoff flavor. Would I order again? Not really unless they change up the recipe for this. Their menu is actually quite vast, it's a little more than just coffee buns and shakes, they have coffees, smoothies, buns with ice cream in them, and more. Store is clean, brightly lit, has many seats. Service was good as well, definitely give this place a try, I've come across it so many times on yelp and never thought much of it but now it's one of my favs for desserts

Yasmeen E.

Yelp
My husband and I decide to try out this place since their desserts looked unique and good. We got the Ferrero Rocher one which was great. A nice combination of crunch, sweetness, and fluffiness. My husband got the Karak tea and he enjoyed it. We felt that the atmosphere could use more character and the space was too large.

Ngoc D.

Yelp
This is a good place for you to enjoy amazing sweet coffee flavored buns and a cup of coffee. The store is very spacious with great smell of coffee and buttery buns lol. I just can't describe how I love the buns here. I got them everytime I come, it makes me feel like where I usually got paparotti in my hometown. Service is fine, it can get a bit busy sometime but I never waited more than 15mins. Great experience so far.

Kristine S.

Yelp
Amazing place! Excellent coffee and the coffee bun was delicious. Great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and read. Clean, spacious area and friendly staff. Coming back again soon!

Rakesh L.

Yelp
I picked up an order from this place and the buns were good. However, I also ordered two paneer paninis and when I went home, I noticed they had no paneer in them. When I called them, their response was whether I wanted to eat them or bring them back. That was terrible service by them. First of all I was served a sandwich with just chutney and onions and then he asks me to bring them back. Update - The owner called me back and apologized and said he would refund the amount for the sandwiches. Rating was updated to reflect the taste of everything else.

Brian P.

Yelp
We bought a pack of 12 buns to go. Dined in to try a bun. It was super delicious. It is definitely worth the drive. Drove from Chicago because my wife really wanted these buns. I highly recommend it. The guy on the counter was super nice. Check this place out.

Amy P.

Yelp
First time here. The owner was very nice and gave us a little back story. We had three buns and a shake. The biscoff, Mona Lisa and Nutella buns were excellent! The Oreo milkshake wasn't great. They make it with ice and there were large chunks of ice. However, we will be back and will just skip the shakes.

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying PappaRoti after a friend told me a local branch was opening. I believe they're still in the soft opening phase, and they still have some growing pains. It seems like Qahwa House handled their launch more effectively. The interior of PappaRoti is spacious, but the design is not as exciting as Qahwa House. They open at 10 am on Sunday. We went at 11:15 and were told the buns would take another half hour to be ready. So we drove down to Panera to grab some coffee and came back. A couple other customers also had to leave. Anyway, we did come back and ordered an iCloud to share. It came to $12 with tip. I've had roti buns before when there was a stall located within Fox Valley Mall some years ago. PappaRoti's bun was very good. Crisp on the outside, and fluffy and buttery on the inside. The iCloud was topped with whipped cream and had a few strawberry pieces. While it was tasty, I'm not sure it was worth $12. I believe a plain bun is $4.25, so it was quite a markup for whipped cream and strawberries. I can make a similar dessert at home. My local Mexican bakery sells conchas (Mexican sweet bread) for $1 each, and I can top that with Reddi-Wip and strawberries at home, so maybe $2 in total. To be fair, a concha doesn't have the buttery goodness of a roti bun, but a fresh-made concha is pretty good. Overall I would say the dessert was good, but not the best value.

Allison M.

Yelp
Walked into the restaurant and the cashier was on the couch picking his toenails while on his cellphone... gross! Didnt wash his hands when he got up and proceeded to talk on his cellphone while walking up to the cash register. Never coming back. Aren't you supposed to wear closed toed shoes working in a restaurant and why are you picking your toes??? my appetite was ruined and walked right out won't be back ever again.

Florence G.

Yelp
Use to have this in Malaysia and when I heard Pappa Roti is n town I was estatic. The signature bun especially is simple but so so good! Crispy exterior and soft gooey interior.

Jason P.

Yelp
Must try! Before I give my review I want to give you a backstory to this establishment. 20 years ago I visited Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and went to this coffee place called Roti Boy that had coffee but was known for this bun called the "Mexican Bun". I always thought it would have been cool to make that Mexican Bun here in America because it's so good. Pappa Roti seems to be a spinoff of Roti Boy as everything is exactly the same, but they call it a "Signature Bun" instead of the Mexican Bun. In Malaysia these buns are served mostly in the mornings with coffee similar to how we sell donuts here in America. I was blown away when I saw this Pappa Roti and their signature bun so I stopped in to give it a try. It wasn't even in Yelp yet so I set this up for them and excited to be the first to review and give everyone this backstory..... On to my review. The Signature Bun (Mexican Bun) is a fluffy dough ball that tastes like coffee and cinnamon.... Who wouldn't love that? The Mexican Bun in Malaysia has a lot more butter inside, so it's practically dripping. Comparatively the Signature Bun has much less butter and juicy drip.... Maybe after this review they can add more butter. It's a really tasty bun but doesn't seem as sweet as donuts, so you don't feel so bad eating them. They have a bunch of options if you want to flavor your bun or just eat it plain. A bunch of coffee and drink options as well. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Stephanie N.

Yelp
Delicious food! It was extremely busy but service was still good. The ambience was fun and the location was clean.

Trang V.

Yelp
I have always been coming to this place to get their bun. I have eaten this bun since i was little. Moving to the states i can not find it anywhere but here. Their coffee is also good. Their service has always been amazing, people here are really nice and helpful. Love love love this place.

Secil A.

Yelp
The 3 stars are for the bun. Upon entering I noticed how loud the dance music was. I ordered bun with ashta and honey.also cappuccino with oat milk. 20 minutes later she almost gave my order to somebody else but I was fast to take it. Cappuccino was very bitter and no foam at all. I couldnt drink it. Bun was very delicous. But the loud music, cold temputure and the wait was not worth it. I suggest taking your buns to go.

John A.

Yelp
Best Bun ever. I had on in Dubai a few years ago. Glad to see one so close to home. Get the signature special with chai tea. You won't be disappointed

Ummehani M.

Yelp
Recently went after many months. They have new owners. Everything was delicious and served on time! I'll be hanging out there more often now.

Han D.

Yelp
This is a REAL Pappa Roti brand! It tastes Exactly the same as the one I had in Vietnam!!! Please support the owners. She's super sweet and friendly. They have a large variety of beverages for you to choose. The shop looks very nice and cozy. We love this place! When we come back Next time we'll get a box, not only 2 buns

Asma A.

Yelp
The karak tea and buns are delicious. They have a fairly extensive menu but those two items are what I always order. There's plenty of room to sit and the ambiance is pretty relaxed. Great place to grab a cup of tea and relax.

Anna kate H.

Yelp
Horrible place. Ordered a regular coffee and watched the guy drop the coffee cap on the floor then pick it up and put it on my coffee. He was also walking around in flip flops which seems like it should not be allowed in food services industry.

LL B.

Yelp
This is the 3rd time I have been to the Naperville Pappa Roti. The first time, after seeing them advertise they were open, I walked in about noon, and was told they were open, but unable to make any food or drinks. Huh?? So I asked when they'd be open for service, and they told me in about a week. I went back a week or so later, and they were able to make coffee and tea and their Signature bun, but my two friends and I were told it would take about 20 to 30 minutes to get two plain coffees and one tea. We were shocked, but had already paid when we were given this info. We sat and watched for about 25 minutes with no one else in the store, and 1 employee making the buns, and the other two just standing there wiping the counters. Umm...no one even attempting to make coffee or tea! My friends and I began laughing as was this really happening? Finally one of the employees came to our table and brought a signature bun, "on the house" with an apology that the wait was so long for two coffees and a tea. She told us they were waiting for directions to be sent via email to use the machines! ugggh...we left. Fast forward another week, today my friend and I went and there was a sign on the door that said they were open but you could ONLY order what was on the screens above cash register. Well here is the pic of all you could order. Black coffee and a signature bun. So that's what we ordered. With only two customers in there besides us (they were already seated and having a bun and coffee), employees just stood around, and no one began making coffee. This is like the twilight zone lol. Then we finally were brought our buns, and given coffee in a paper cup. I asked for a coffee cup (ceramic type - that I saw stacked on shelves), and was told coffee doesn't come in those cups, only paper cups. OMG!! Who goes to a specialty seemingly world-famous coffee shop to sit inside and drink from a paper cup??? A family with two children came in and immediately left when they were told all that was available was coffee and plain bun. WHY IS THIS PLACE EVEN OPEN????????????? It has to be a Candid Camera situation!

Jessica P.

Yelp
First time here and staff were very helpful as we were unfamiliar with the menu. All the food was very good. The buns were soft and fluffy and tasted delicious with the cream and honey. The tea complimented the buns well. We will definitely be back for more.

Ann M.

Yelp
I was looking for a new coffee shop around Naperville and saw Pappa Roti pop up on google. The building itself isn't too hard to find and the inside is very clean. After looking through the menu I decided to get their signature combo. The signature combo includes a sweet bun and kanaka tea. The tea was delicious and had hints of cardamom. The sweet tea was warm and sweet. I will definitely be returning for this wonderful combo.

Paul H.

Yelp
This place is a joke. First the cashier needs to either find a new job or get an attitude adjustment. She is rude taking orders while playing on her phone at the same time. Unfortunately, she is also the only one working the place. I was the only person here. I paid for my order and waited 20 min to get one drink and signature bun. Yes the bun is delicious but not worth the poor service. There are plenty of other delicious foods available that don't come with an attitude.

Asma H.

Yelp
my visit here was great! they made everything exactly like it looks on the menu and it was delicious would recommend coming again must come and try!

Boo P.

Yelp
Horrible service! 1st time I went with friends and we all ordered 4 coffee buns. The girl that was working there wasn't that friendly and looked annoyed that my friends and I were each ordering 4 buns. But, ok. I thought the buns tasted good and my kids enjoyed them. I went back the 2nd time, but they were closed, even though, it was during the hours they were supposed to open. So, I tried again today 3rd time. And what a horrible service! I wanted 12 coffee buns, but the girl said she can't give me because she has to save them for other costumers. They would be mad at her if they come and get no buns. She only can give me 8 buns. Ok, so I ordered the 8 buns that she can give me. Then I ordered a cup of coffee to go. She went to her phone and texted someone for like 2-3 mins before she made my coffee. Then slammed the cup of coffee on the counter and walked away and went to her phone texting. I wasn't sure if she was done with my order? Or what was going on? So, I asked if I was done and if she needs anything else from me? She gave me a face of annoying grin and said no, bye! I thought that was the rudest costumer service ever! The buns are good, but service was horrible! With this type of service, I will pass on the buns!!!

Lisa B.

Yelp
While searching for new coffee places I came across this place and since I was in the area, I had to stop in. While I did not get a coffee, I did order 2 of the Signature buns. They are hard to describe but so delicious, just like the other reviews said. Very different but in a good way. Warm and slightly crispy with a light coffee flavor on the outside and fluffy on the inside! Not too sweet, but perfect!! Can't wait to go back!!

Lilian A.

Yelp
This place is a joke and I will not be coming back. I ordered online and arrived for pick up when they said it would be ready(30 min). The girl working there was so rude acting like she didn't want to be there. I told Her I was picking up my order and she said ok, walked away and started making my order. Wait, what is the point of ordering ahead of time???? There were no other customers other than one lady who ordered coffee. I had to wait another 30 minutes for my order. She proceeded to just drop the bag of buns in front of me without saying anything and walked away. The whole time she was on her cell phone, in fact two customers walked in while she was on her phone and she kept talking on the phone while the customers were in front of her waiting for their order to be taken. Why is this place even open?

R V.

Yelp
The menu items are good and as is the karak chai. But the place is never clean - all the tables are sticky and unclean. They are understaffed everytime we have been there. And they are missing or out of basic things like forks spoon cups etc if ever there has been a rush time. They need to do better in terms if ambience and service or reduce operations

E R.

Yelp
Came long way for Pappa Roti. Always amazing! Yummy bun and chai. I can eat this almost everyday. Staff is friendly

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This was our first time to Pappa Roti. Everything was so delicious. I forgot to take a photo until we had eaten it all. I highly recommend the cinnabun.

Priti S.

Yelp
Yummy food! Must try the buns... the honey one in particular. The Karak chai was too good! Loved the salad and sandwich too!

Husna S.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The bun literally melts in your mouth. The karak tea is sooooo goood. The cafe is very spacious and staff is extremely friendly. My favorite hangout spot in Naperville.

Kristine M.

Yelp
I've been here twice now in the morning and every time the service is slow and it's dirty full of dishes from previous day. Seems like only one person working. Why open the business at all? Went in here on a weekday morning. The individual working was on the phone. Took our order right away but we waited 25 minutes for 2 coffees and a snack wrap. No one else in establishment. She didn't even start making our coffee until we had sat there for 20 mins. I thought it was because the food was taking longer. She handed us our coffee and then went to go make our food. Unbelievable. The place smelled horrible too.

Afreen M.

Yelp
Papa Roti has excellent Buns and Strong teas ! They wide sections of signature buns and various types of beverages hot and cold !

Tawfiq O.

Yelp
Loved the chai, and buns. The buns are from Malaysia, and well worth it with the chai.

Anna L.

Yelp
Great experience! Buns are delicious; they're so fluffy and soft on the inside and have a nice crunchy crust on the outside. There were lots of different topping choices. The cheese and honey bun was my favorite and my boyfriend got the cinna-bun which was also very delicious. They've also got lunch, coffee, and ice cream. The staff was really friendly as well and made the experience even better with recommendations!

Kimberly G.

Yelp
Love this place! I'm so happy that there's a roti cafe near me. The drinks and great and fillings are fun but you can't go wrong with the original

Savina S.

Yelp
Horrible place , unfortunately there is this one girl who works there and is always grumpy extremely unprofessional and they are always locking the door !!!!!! I have tried to go there atleast 6 times and even though I can see her inside the store, she literally sends people away by closing the

husna s.

Yelp
'This place is amazing. The bun literally melts in your mouth. The karak tea is sooooo goood. The cafe is very spacious and staff is extremely friendly. My favorite hangout spot in Naperville.'

Nabeeha S.

Yelp
The buns are soft and have a beautiful presentation. These will be great for insta-worthy pics!

Khurram K.

Yelp
If I could give them negative stars I would. This place is beyond ridiculous. Every time u come here they are out of the buns and chai. 3rd time is the charm, and they are not even apologetic for it, we called 15mins before coming and were told yes we have them and when we get there they say they don't have anything. This place is a f***g joke ! Will report them to BBB as well for rude customer service
