Pappas Burger

I ordered the fried catfish with onion rings, and both were absolutely delicious. The catfish was perfectly cooked, and the onion rings were crispy and full of flavor. The service was excellent as well—friendly, fast, and very attentive. Great experience overall. I will definitely be coming back! ✔️🍽️

I used to frequent Pappas Burgers 15-20 years ago and somehow lost touch with them, but after having lunch there earlier this week, I can confidently say it's just as good as I remembered. Big, juicy burgers paired with fresh cut fries and crispy onion rings. Simple, classic, and done right. This visit was a great reminder of why they were a favorite back then. I'll definitely be adding Pappas Burgers back until the rotation the next time I'm craving a really good burger.

I had an incredible experience thanks to Adam — truly one of the best servers I’ve ever had! From the moment we sat down, he made us feel welcome and taken care of. He was friendly, attentive, and had great recommendations that made our meal even better. Food was amazing

Went with a group of 5 on Sunday Dec 28 between 3-4p. It was crowded but not slammed. We were seated right away after ordering. We all had burgers(of course!) and various drinks (tea, soda, & yummy Butterfinger shakes). Our waiter was Excellent. He kept checking on us without being pesky. The food and drinks came out correctly cooked and served. Several of us asked for ToGo containers and they were brought promptly. Even though it was busy, we were not hurried out. We sat and talked for a bit after eating. Always good food and service!

Not impressed at all. The parking lot is very small. Almost full, went inside and at least 8 empty tables. Around 4pm on a Saturday. Ordered food, sat down, took over 10 minutes for someone to come to our table and check our ticket. Took a while just to get our drinks. Food came out before appetizer, which was at least another 10 minutes. A gentleman came over to let us know since food came out first he would comp appetizer, which was nice because we had not even said anything to anyone. Only 1 refill of drinks the entire time, sat empty for a while. The burger was not special, the fries were not that good. We will continue to try new burger places & continue to go to Fuddruckers when we just want a burger as well. Better quality, better service. No reason to return to Pappa’s Burger.

Great place to go with friends and date, just great food. Order at counter, but service at table is still a thing. Great salads, addicting, you get your money's worth in taste. The French fries are a little salty, but you can request no salt. Yummy, no matter what you order. Any out of towners, I would definitely bring here.

Absolutely loved our visit to Pappas Burger in Houston! The burger and fries were top-notch — juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and the food came out hot and fresh. Gaby was a phenomenal server — friendly, attentive, and made our experience even better with her great energy and excellent service. She made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. This has been our go to spot for premium burgers for years! I can't believe it's been seven years since I've done a review but nothing's changed. The service is still top-notch and they're serving some of the best burgers in town. These are the best burgers in town bottom line.! I did the review today because our waitress Zan and the new manager Yvanna did an outstanding job today! The place was extremely packed but damn doing such a great job we were able to get sat down and our food came out quickly. I've never seen this pack. They did such an amazing job, the entire staff. This is what prompted me to write the review. Everyone knows Pappas burger has the best burgers in town. Bottom line. But I wanted to highlight the customer service today. Zan and the manger Yvanna are simply top notch! Great food and great customer service!

Burgers bigger than your head. My sister and I split one and my belly is full! The fries are so yummy, salty and thin with skin on. Super fresh. I couldn't finish them though because the half burger & butterfinger shake were enormous. I love this place and the people who work here are top notch nice.

I haven't been here in years only because it's sort of off the beaten path for me now because I moved. I had a nickel burger, which is a small version of the regular burger and it was so delicious. I can't even tell you. It's the best burger I've had like in years except for mine and the french fries which I don't need to eat were absolutely crispy and delicious and my Diet Coke was tangy and yummy too. Everybody loved their food. We had great service. Her name is Gabriela and she was so helpful so nice kept up with conversation laughed. She was just great. There were some other servers there that looked like they were doing the same thing. It was a great experience and I'm not gonna wait so long to go back the next time. It was absolutely jampacked with people of course it was Saturday at 1 PM. I'll definitely be going back when I have an urge to have a really good burger. Mine was the barbecue cheese and bacon burger in the smaller size so it's absolutely perfect for me. Now, if Pappas would just get back their seafood place on Shepherd which I miss terribly.

Stopped in for a nice lunch with some of my team from culinary school. The ambience and vibes were amazing along with everything being made fresh to order. Service was great and they did an amazing job making sure that our entire group was served with great professionalism and in a timely manner. Definitely will be visiting again.

We love Pappas Burgers! This is by far one of the best burgers you will find in Houston! (And that's saying ALOT!) It's my husbands favorite food, and this is his favorite place for a burger. We went for his birthday recently and they did not disappoint. It's a cool Diner type vibe with a relaxed feel! It is counter service, but they are at your beck and call every minute. A server is in charge of your table when you are seated. The chips and queso are so delicious as well as the fried pickles too! If you're in the mood for this type of food, don't look any further! Excellent place!

I have finally come and eat here, it was definitely one of the best burger I had in a while. You order at the counter and then you bring you slip to your table and then your server will confirm your orders and they will bring your food out to your table. It still have the old school burger diner feel but lots of TVs on the wall, it feel a bit chaotic in a good way. The burger may seem expensive. You do get a pretty big burger with high quality meat for the patty. It is worth it here and you can see why they are busy for a reason.

Has been some time since we visited Pappa's for burgers and they won on a Sunday night from a list of great choices. The place was hopping around 7:30. Has a Diner feel and decor with a smaller Bar. You order first and then wait for seating- if there aren't any open tables, they come over and find you to take you to your table. We had about a 15 minute wait. Most of us ordered burgers from the Guacamole burger to the Peppercorn Burger and there was a shrimp basket, Buffalo Wings as well mozzarella bites. Fried Shrimp and Wings were good/standard with the mozzarella bites as the crowd favorite. My guacamole burger was tasty with a few toppings coming together and playing nicely. I remember from previous visits thinking if they have house ground prime beef why is the only choice for temperature medium well?-it doesn't really add up and although I do like the taste of the burger, I think it would be much better if they offered it medium or to your temperature liking. Service was fun and attentive and our server took great care of us. They managed the peak quite well. Good one for the atmosphere and could be a top contender in the H-town Burger scene if they changed the meat temperature options.

I love the Burgers from Pappas BBQ so I had to finally check out the Pappas Burgers restaurant. I went simple with the Cheeseburger but let me tell you this burger packed a punch with flavor, you can't go wrong with steak based burgers, apparently they source their beef from next door at Pappas bros steak house. Our server Valentine was excellent he explained everything about the restaurant and the menu and had our drink refills on par. We will definitely be back.

Walked with my bro been here years back and just about walked right out almost 20 bucks a burger! Regardless gave it a chance and ordered a papa's cheese burger and sweet tater fries. Buger came out fairly quickly. Presentation was good and the burger was big. It had a good helping of fries. Cheese Burger 7 outa 10 solid number Sweet potato fries 7 iuta 10 Flavors were good but don't know about that price tag pretty steep but I guess it's a gourmet burger.

Dear Management, I wanted to address a situation at your facility that occurred when a group of us arrived to eat at your restaurant. The process by which your servers and tables are done to order the food really seems so time consuming and wasteful. Why should we A stand in line to order, only to sit down and restart the process over. I found it to be such a painful process.... Then we had multiple groups split up in the restaurant, so your waitstaff is frustrated and would make faces because the orders were on diff tickets at diff tables. Well that's cuz your ordering system is flawed, we clearly told them that we were on different tickets. What was the issue all of a sudden. Why did they not mention it then. Your system it's time consuming and really painful to your servers who made it very apparent that this is an issue to us as customers.....after the fact of all of the above. Why didn't they tell us this when we walked up to the counter. Why didn't yall tell us when we sat down. No, your upset waitstaff .... Fluffed his blonde hairdo in the air and puffed "like this isn't going to work".... Come on.... Try something diff..... give out a freaking buzzer, pager. That was not needed.

Great service, burgers are so good and huge better than any other place I've been too. Fries and onion rings are delicious as well as the milkshakes! Had the mushroom Swiss burger and it was delicious! Will come back to try different things for sure! I recommend

Service is amazing, quality of burger also amazing. Flavor wise...the most bland burger I've ever had, had a hard time getting it down like seriously, I do not see the hype. And my stomach hurt immediately after. I hope they learn to season a burger I'll be at the last fudruckers in Houston till then.

Down home vibes. Casual dining. Service was very attentive and cheery! I had a great meal here and definitely recommend. It IS on the pricier side for a burger but the burgers are massive. I got the mushroom Swiss burger and it was incredible. So yummy and delicious. My boyfriend got the Lucy juicy burger and he added an egg - it was insanely delicious. Very oily but wow just so good. I highly recommend both burgers just totally different vibes. I personally upgraded my fries to be sweet potato fries while my boyfriend d kept the traditional fries. Both were good but the sweet potato fries were much crispier and just overall better so if you're considering upgrading the fries, do it!!

Quick service , wonderful food Happy Hour M-f , food is super fresh and flavorful. Never had any bad experiences at pappas burgers !! Fried pickles (few fried jalapeños ) were delightful !! Fish platter is plentiful! Give 'me a try

Such a confusing place to me. It's a self order, self seating, server having, burger restaurant. Ordered two burger combos with a soda. Was given the receipt and told I would check out with my server. Found a table and sat down. Server came and checked the receipt and reviewed our order. Another person brought our burgers, but with cheese. Walked off so fast I couldn't tell him about no cheese. Finally got our server's attention to tell him no cheese. He took the burgers back and later came back with the correct order. So when we received our receipt, they had charged us for all burgers. Had to remind him to take off the remade burgers. He said that's how he had to let the kitchen know to make a new order, but he forgot to remove. No biggie to fix for him. The bill was about $50. I'm not too impressed with this burger restaurant. Nothing too special about the meat's taste or atmosphere. I don't see myself returning, but I am glad to have experienced the location because I pass by frequently.

The burger was very large and a good deal if you are hungry! The french fries came out extremely fresh, hot and crispy, however, they were just a tad salty. The place had traditional style papas restaurant seating and offered margaritas as well. The location was great right off the busy road and easy parking access. Service was straightforward and prompt with our order.

Wonderful burger and shake options off the Grand Boulevard Westheimer. Pappas is known for their service and staff here has it together. Straight up modern Americana-type diner.

I being a Papas Burger fan and customer for over 9 years. I always appreciated their good portions, combined with great taste. However things keep going down after Covid. This last Monday I was ready to give up with this restaurant base on the parking lot issues, smaller portions for same prices ( still good flavor ) and a weird treatment from shift manager ( green shirt ) seems in a hurry to get us out. The BEST thing that happened to our family during this visit was by our server RAY; he is the best server you could ask for; attentive, fast and with a great attitude.

I enjoyed my visit here! The burger was good quality. Lots of parking available too. My burger was a bit too decadent for me (very cheesy and eggy) so I might not get the same one again but it was really tasty. The fries were great too and the service was really attentive. Three different waiters came to check on us while we dined here!

I have nothing to say but good things about his place Loved the general vibes of this place. So many Houston Sports pictures and memorabilia around. They burger was huge, and delicious! Loved how soft the buns were and seasoned the patties are

I only write a review if the place I visit moves me to do so. Thank you Randy Tumlison for suggesting Pappas Burger on Westheimer in Houston, Texas. It was quite a drive from Kingwood but well worth it. Thank you Morgan (manager) and Edwin (our server) for treating us like honored guests. Quality meat flavor! The fries you can mix with onion rings or sweet potato in style. The shake was theeeeee best. Staff was friendly but Morgan made sure to ask if all was well and that mattered to me. Im just happy of how they treated us! WORTH THE VISIT!

So fun!!! had a great time with my son. Has all the teams from texas ( except Rangers because there bad). I hope Ryan Trahan reads this review for a video. It would be a dream come true!!! By the way I'm only 9 years old so that's why you see all the spelling and errors in this message. And why I'm writing to you and Papa's burgers is amazing and the food is the best. Large meals, a little pricey, but worthwhile given the size. They no longer serve chicken fried steaks. Burgers of course are premium and excellent! Tried their fried chicken on a salad most recently - was better than expected. Higher quality chicken, lightly battered and friend, did not feel greasy. May be they use a higher quality frying oil, change it more often. Tables seem placed a little too closely together. I don't understand waiting in line to place the order, then once seated having someone come to the table to double check it - slightly annoying quirk.

Luke was so amazing! Couldn't believe it was his first time serving. Great conversation. Friendly demeanor. Hospitality was A1 steak sauce!!! Keep him around please!

It was a casual burger & fries kinda place Food was good but not outstanding Service- now the server Nick that we had was great. Very personable and friendly. The front counter girl needs some re-training. Spoke the the manager about that situation. We love Pappas restaurants but this was not at the top of their lists.

Marquis was awesome!! So helpful and on it with everything including not forgetting the ranch!! Which was on point and tasted amazing!! You can never go wrong with Pappas Burger!! Tonight I got a grilled chicken sandwich with their pepper jack cheese and an Oreo shake! Perfection! and no I couldn't finish it because it was huge!!

Service was quick, you order at the counter but you have a server that brings you your food and gets you anything else you need. My boys and I ate here and we got some fried pickles, buffalo bites with Asian sauce and their homemade blue cheese (which is to die for) and some mozzarella bites. So yummy. The fried pickles are one of my favorites and they give you some fried jalapeños too! We all got shakes too, Oreo, chocolate and my favorite, peanut butter. They come in cute diner style shake glasses! We all got a different burger and sweet potato fries, regular fries and onion rings. You can get half and half of whatever you'd like. Everything was so fresh and delicious! Cute dinner style restaurant with stools to sit up front and plenty of parking . I highly recommend this place!

This was my first visit to Pappas Burger. When we walked in you see the menus on the wall. Then you place your order at the register and then get seated. After your meal you'll pay. There were plenty of seats filled with folks and plenty of parking on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered their fried catfish sandwich with sweet potato fries and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was an average kids mac. The fish sandwich was pretty good. I like my sweet potato fries with a glaze or powder sugar or atleast fried crispy. So when they are plain they're just ok to me. I don't have to have them or the mac again. But I will try a burger and maybe a shake.

When you go inside the restaurant you order ahead of time and they give you a number. Its decor is like a diner. I ordered the Pappas burger and mozzarella bites. Everything was very solid. I would rate the burger a 8.5. The burger was juicy and delicious. The way they cook their fries and my absolute favorite, like shoe string, very thin. I would rate the fries 9/10. The mozzarella bites were my favorite thing I ate, 10/10. They were served hot and probably the best I have ever had.

3.9 - Burger, regular. 4.2 - Burger, BBQ. 5.0 - Fries (delivery, thrown in air fryer) 4.0 - Hot dog, queso. Great bread. 4.5 - Shake, Oreo.

Excellent service! Valentine, our server, was incredibly hospitable and attentive -- always on top of drink refills, condiments, and making sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was warm and family-friendly, with plenty of TVs for those of us who love catching the game while enjoying a meal together. Chase, one of the supervisors or managers, was also great and made us feel welcome. Overall, a wonderful experience. whether you're dining solo or bringing the whole family, I'd definitely recommend coming here.

This Houston favorite never ceases to deliver from a perfect medium rare burger, amazing fries, and onion rings, and even a chocolate shake to top it off. The only thing better than the food was the service. Although Pappas burger maybe a bit more expensive than others it definitely delivers every time.

Love their food. They never disappoint. There's so much food you have to share or have left overs. The mozzarella bites are so good!!!

Service was great, along with the hamburger. But I was very disappointed. The Greek salad had changed to a Mediterranean salad that added falafel.(that I don't like.) along with sprouts(that I care less about) along with Shrinkflation of the portion. Wow, would you mess with one of the best Greek salads around?

Marquis was kind and quick. Very genuine person, willing to help at any second. The whole staff had smiles and were working hard. Food was delicious. Recommend the buffalo bites as an appetizer

Must expensive burger I've ever eaten lol.... But it was good! Mozzarella bites Bleu cheese burger Bacon cheeseburger 2 fountain drinks With a tip it was around $80!!!! Yikes I get it, food costs are up. But $80??? Won't say I'll be back but food was good and service was speedy.

We had a wonderful lunch at Pappas Burger. The waiter Marquis was lovely and knowledgeable about the menu. He was very nice and polite. Fresh food all the way around. We will definitely go back again. 10 stars for Marquis

Honestly, if not because I know this 3 thousand calorie meal can kill me, I would have buy these more often. I love their bacon cheeseburger and their Mushroom and Swiss burger. Huge and tasty burgers that you can tweak to your liking. These milkshakes are amazing, I ordered the butterfinger one this last time. Overall awesome and delicious meal.

My favorite burger in Houston. Big chunk of beef, just the right amount of pepper, lettuce, tomatoes, pickle and mustard. Epic! Perfect house cut skinny fries. Cool tap beer. Milkshakes. Next to Pappas Brothers Steakhouse, one of the best in Houston serving 100% prime, dry aged and other top steaks, not surprising this is excellent. One of my go to spots in the Galeria.

Good: Portion Size and taste of food was great. I had the fish and shrimp. Super filling! Bad: The service. I was cool until my waiter brought out the food. When he sat the plate down, it knocked my shrimp onto the table.... I asked him could I get a replacement, he told me to eat it off the table. At the end of the day, it's something I'm paying for.

They use to have a really good burger. I was surprised by the ordering process. First step order at cash register. Second step waitress reviews your order. Somehow between the two steps they messed up the order, so thanks for second step. The burger was ok and versus the price way better other places. Burgers are an art and many places around Houston treat them such. Just not Pappa's.

You can tell they source their beef from the steakhouse. Incredibly juicy and flavorful patty cooked perfectly to requested temperature. No need for heavy seasoning or toppings with the beef is this good. Onion rings are obviously not frozen. Excellent as well. Sat at the counter and got great service from Avery who was very friendly. Shake was good too. I'll be back whenever I'm in Houston.

This is clearly the place to be on a Friday night! Come early if you intend on having a weekend dinner because the parking lot fills up quickly, and the place gets packed. If you're going to dine at Pappas burgers, you must get a milkshake. The peanut butter and Oreo milkshakes were the stars of the show. The veggie burgers are of better quality here than most places. The patties are homemade, and they use almonds and cranberries. Pro tip: we switched out the mozzarella cheese with pepper jack cheese and added fresh jalapenos! Each burger comes with a side, and our waitress recommended we do half fries and half onion rings. The portions of the sides are also humongous, so plan to share or have leftovers. While we largely enjoyed our experience dining here, a big pain point was the temperature of the food. Our mozzarella bites and fried pickles/jalapenos were room temperature at best. Fried food should be served nice and hot! And beware of the salt content in the food - the fried pickles had too much, the fries and mozzarella bites had none.
