"Paradise Bar and Restaurant, a neighborhood gay bar, was purchased by the owners of Black, a quiet LA bar. It is Long Beach’s oldest gay piano bar and has maintained a steady presence within the city’s LGBTQ community. Some fans are wondering what will come next as the new owners, Bethany Black and Shannon McManus, cater to a straight, skate-focused customer base. It’s unclear what changes will occur after the new owners take possession. Speculations are that the bar struggled to fill its room nightly since 2013, and the gay piano bar scene in greater Los Angeles has been struggling for years." - Mona Holmes

I am usually very critical of Paradise Bar & Restaurant but my most recent visit was better than the time before. We had a party of 8 celebrating a friend's birthday; the service, provided by Los, was EXCELLENT! He is obviously a well seasoned waiter who knew the menu and how to interact with his customers. Although the food was delicious (which has become more consistent), the only negative I have is that both mine and my partner's meals came out late when most of our party were nearly done with their meals. All-in-all, it was a good evening. Thank you Paradise, we'll be back!

Haven't been here in a while. We stopped in for dinner and a drink. The food was good - we ordered the blackened chicken sandwich and grilled cheese with soup - both were great! Ambiance was nice - they need to generate more interest in the restaurant side, as I think they're headed in the right direction.

I expected a much better experience because of other reviews. I was very disappointed however. The server was extremely unattentive and made it seem like it was such a chore to simply speak to us, let alone to do so in a friendly manner. My friend and I went for all-you-can-eat tacos on Taco Tuesday. After our first round of tacos, we sat for 12 minutes just waiting for the server to come back around and get our next order of tacos. We got four rounds of tacos and they all came out cold. At another point in time, we wanted to order more tacos and he had come around 3 times without so much as an "I'll be right with you." He thanked us for our patience when he should have been apologizing for the wait. I was extremely disappointed with the service.

Fun and friendly atmosphere as well as staff. Our waitress was great for taco Tuesday and the food was delicious. My self, my Wife and our three kids went and we got all you can eat taco Tuesday as well as one of each taco and a pitcher of margaritas (we live close to the restaurant so we walked, no drinking and driving people.) They also had entertainment, Mr Woods on the piano. It is a gay bar I guess but everyone was friendly and the bar is separate from the restaurant which is casual classy (making up my own dress class. Welp have fun and be safe. It's a big world and we are very little bit. Kyle Senteno

Lindsay was amazing, her personality and kindness, plus attention to our order was awesome! When you order a Moscow Mule with Lemon instead of Lime people often say no, and think you're crazy, but not Lindsay!! Oh and great prices on happy hour!😊

This is our semi-regular Saturday night hang. They host a local musician who plays the piano and takes requests, Kevin Wood. He's great and we enjoy the fun atmosphere that night. I haven't tried a lot of their menu but what I've tried I've liked quite a bit.

Went for brunch with my sister. Wow! The egg sandwich w cornmeal bun, egg, cheddar, tomato jam, avocado, bacon was to die for. In the background the piano player is singing on the bar side. Our adorable server, Moses is super nice. Will definitely be back.

Loved this place the minute we stepped in! Loved the atmosphere and the band was great. It just so happened to be Ladies night so it as half priced wine, beer and wells! Staff was friendly and the vibes were great.
