"Paradise Biryani Pointe is an Indian restaurant chain with several locations across the country. They specialize in—you guessed it—biryani, and servers here carry these rice dishes full of marinated meats and spices around the room like piles of gold. Paradise Biryani Pointe can certainly fill up on weekends, but ultimately serves as a mellow spot to grab a quick dinner during the week. There are usually music videos playing on the TVs above the bar and a couple of families feasting on huge bowls of chicken biryani." - Nikko Duren

Used to be really good. I'm not sure whether the chef has changed, lately most of my favorite dishes are bad, oily, and less flavorful. Hopefully they look into it and make changes.

Masala dosa comes with very old potatoes in a cold watery rotten soup/curry, definitely not cooked fresh. Goat pepper fry is like eating deliciously flavored rubber tires. Don't waste your time or money. If you try to go back for a refund as a single mom with an infant and a 7 year old at 9:30 pm at night, when you should be putting your kids to sleep, after expecting a night off from cooking and hoping to feed your babies some yummy food, they won't easily agree to return your money. You will have to seriously fight for it, argue your point, convince them to try and take a bite of their own disgusting food, and not all of them will have the courage to do so. You will also have to be faced with 3 or 4 men giving you and your children a hard time and dirty looks. Then after several minutes of this debate, they will still not return your money. Now they will try to force you to deal with the manager post their interrogation. They will also stare at your children and make them feel uncomfortable as well. Zero humanity. Don't make the mistake of ever ordering near closing time. They will give you everything they were about to throw in the garbage.

Second time to try this Indian place and it is good. I got a chicken biryani, a butter chicken, garlic naan and a cheese naan and everything was good. The spice level is good and it does not cover the taste of the food and so. 4 stars is enough for this place and it is recommended one.

Google
This hidden gem in East Lansing is great. Family and I have had the food a couple of times, and every time, it was really good. Not just one particular dish, most of their dishes have been good. Pretty quick service. Food and staff is amazing. I would rather have paper cups than the cups they have. Thumbs Up should not be 6 dollars. Cleanliness needs to be improved. 2 small coke products was the cost of a full dish. The bill got expensive quick. Will come again, but will pay attention the cost of sodas more.

Google
A pleasant experience! Food was rich and full of flavor, just as I'd expect from a good Indian restaurant. Service was, however, a bit slow to start, but food was quick to come out.

Google
I absolutely love this place. Every time I call and place an order or come inside, I get greeted and the person who I speak to is always so kind and helpful. Let alone, the food is absolutely incredible. I’ve grown up with lots of Indian people in my life, being a white woman and I was so thankful when I found this place because they make the food just the way my friend’s family would make food. I always order the Chicken Tikka Masala with cheese or garlic naan, and it’s always perfect. I’m moving out of the area in a few weeks, and this place will be so greatly missed. There is no other Indian restaurant that can top this place in my opinion. I cannot say thank you enough to the people who work here. You have truly made my experience here exceptional. Thank you so much for everything.

We called to see if they were open. The restaurant was closing at 9:30. The front desk suggested we order the food over the phone so it is ready by the time we get there and we’ll be able to dine in. We ordered chicken 65, karmpodi chicken and paneer kulcha. Everything was really good and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend for dining in.

It was pretty quiet in here on a Thursday late lunch, but I can't complain about it being quiet. The food was good, the spice level was perfect (I asked for hot/spicy). I will definitely be back here.

Yelp
Paradise is located in a nice strip mall in Meridian Township that offers plenty of parking. Upon entering the team members welcome you and show you to your table. Everyone we encountered was kind and helpful you are given a bottle water and napkin dispensers are at the table. There is plenty of seating and the restaurant is clean and organized. The food was decent, definitely fresh but the strong Indian flavors I'm accustomed to weren't present. I had a hard time selecting my meal and the team member that assisted me in making my selection was patient. While I didn't end up with what I envisioned, I blame only myself, the food was tasty. The garlic naan is terrific and a nice accompaniment to the fried paneer. The chicken fried rice was served with a side of ketchup. I asked what it was for and was told it was for my rice. Bizarre? Perhaps but it was tasty and I had rice for two other meals! I will perhaps try Paradise again but there are several other local Indian restaurants that I will return to first.

Yelp
Happened in when a closer place was too full. So happy we did! The place was clean and the staff were friendly. The food was exactly the amount of spice I wanted without being bland. Enjoyed the samosas and goat kurma. The garlic naan was exceptional. Must of all, I thought the serving sizes and prices were quite reasonable. I'll be back again!

Samantha M.

Yelp
My mouth starts to water when I think about the lunch I had here. The mildly spicy shrimp vindaloo was served with fresh carrots, onions, cilantro. Great flavor combination! Buttered chicken was delicious. Also glad we tried the garlic naan! It was all very good. We went mild on the spice level for shrimp vindaloo & that was the right call. Be careful if you don't have strong spice tolerance. They are located in a small strip mall. If you blink, you will miss it.

Lina E.

Yelp
Love their food...always good ..curry chicken, fish are good too and their naan...yummy

Marlene J. W.

Yelp
The food here is delicious. I love the biryanis and the kurmas. The service is great too!

Allison R.

Yelp
Lunch buffet was terrible. Most of the time there was zero naan available and when they brought out the 8 pieces, it went in 30 seconds. The only thing I liked was the vegetable masala, but I only got a half a scoop as they never refilled it. No one came to get our dirty plates, check on us nor did they ask us if we wanted any more water. (Kirkland room temperature bottle of water.). Every other bite, my husband had to spit out a non-consumable piece. I avoided the chicken dishes after biting into a narly chunk. A half hour before the buffet ended the staff started loading their plates with no new food coming out. I wouldn't go back if it was free.

Yelp
We were visiting a friend in Lansing the 4th of July weekend and visited this Indian restaurant. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Great portions for the curries and it was served with rice. The service was very good. Highly recommend Malai Kofta and Phool Makhana Curry with Onion Kulcha or Garlic Naan.

Ashlie T.

Yelp
We had dinner here tonight, and everything was delicious. The paneer Manchurian appetizer was perfectly spicy. I had the chicken kurma, which was spicy without being overwhelming. That chicken was tender. My husband had a dish with prawns that he said he couldn't stop eating even though he was full. The portions are a good size and we both took home enough food for lunch tomorrow. Also- don't forget a mango lassi! Can't wait to go back.

Steve M.

Yelp
I had an issue and Management took care of it. They do have delicious food I'm glad our misunderstanding was addressed.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Last minute stop and did not disappoint! Chicken corn soup, garlic naan bread, shrimp tandoori and a kashmiri chicken dish. All were excellent and just the right amount of heat! Definitely worth it! We will be back!

Skip G.

Yelp
I came here a few years ago for the lunch buffet and remember loving it - it was all so good. Today stopped in for lunch. No one else was in there. Menus lack descriptions so if you are not familiar with Indian food it could be a challenge. Paneer was clearly spoiled and 2 vegetarian entrees were greasy and had no flavor other than some heat. Servers never came to check on us. Finally went up to pay after barely eating anything. Explained paneer was spoiled and they still charged us. I politely asked they remove the dosa from the bill and he did but still $35 for bad food. Next time will go to Sindhu or Swagath in East Lansing.

Michael W.

Yelp
Arrived when they opened for dinner. I was the first to order. Only naan. Took 45 min.

Collin M.

Yelp
Amazing food - don't let the menu intimidate you! At first, I didn't know what anything was, but after my server recommended the goat dum biryani, I was hooked. I've now tried almost half the menu, and everything has been really delicious. My advice: pick something randomly and you'll love it!

Yelp
Best Indian food I've ever had in Michigan!! Seriously....awesome! Went to visit our daughter up at MSU, she wanted Indian and said this was great; she was right. Decor of the restaurant is spartan at best ( I know... MSU...Spartans..I get it). This place resembles a fast food restaurant with vinyl booths and Formica tables, but it's clean and if the food is great (and it is), then who cares. Staff was really friendly and things came out pretty quickly. Everything we had was delicious. It was very fresh, not the reheated prefab stuff served at many Indian restaurants I've been to. The thing that sets this place above all others is that the spicy versions we ordered weren't just painful, bland heat or just plain bland unspicy food; they were FLAVORFUL heat that made your nose run but you couldn't stop eating it because it was so delicious. Portions were good size and plenty of tender chicken in all the entrees we ordered. Unfortunately, we live an hour away. But you folks that live close should go here, perhaps try taking out if you want some booze with your meal (no liquor license here). Needless to say, we will be returning here when we visit our daughter again.

Alex F.

Yelp
This is not only the best Indian food in town, it's probably the best restaurant in the Lansing area. I eat here regularly. The spice is at just the right level, everything is fresh, the cuts are chicken are high quality, and every curry on the menu is delicious. I highly recommend

Allison R.

Yelp
Paradise had an decent selection on their lunch buffet this weekend. The butter chicken was good, as was the chilly chicken, although I don't recommend the chilly chicken if you have a low heat tolerance as it was pretty spicy. I really enjoyed the mushroom dish, as well as the rice, veg Hakka noodles and naan. As for the desserts, the Pista Kulfi was delicious, but the mango left a little to be desired. I also loved the gulab jaman, which was like a warm, dense, sweet, donut soaked in sweet syrup. We thought the price was reasonable for the buffet and we will probably be back.

Erin K.

Yelp
Possibly the best Indian restaurant in the area. The hours are a bit annoying if you want to eat before 5:30 but worth the wait.

Kristy K.

Yelp
The menu has a lot of options, but based on what we had, you probably can't go wrong. Had shrimp biryani and paneer tikka masala with butter naan and bullet naan. The bullet naan had green chiles on top, I really enjoyed it. The food was all very tasty. I will be excited to come one day when they have the buffet. It would be nice if some of the menu items had a bit more description, for example the desserts.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious, everyone should come here. I got the Malai Kofta, it's a must. Samosas are fire too.

Amy K.

Yelp
This place was amazing! I got the panner tika masala, the naan, and samosas. I recommend all plus the mango lassi!! They also got great service. Very friendly!!

Wendy P.

Yelp
First time here and I was blown away! I've had Indian quite a few times (even at the border of India and Myanmar) but this place tops it all! I got the Hyderabadi Chicken Curry, and my husband got the butter chicken. There were SO many options to choose from... we'll have to go back during the buffet to try out more! The staff were very kind and friendly, and the ambience in the restaurant was top notch.

Forrest R.

Yelp
This place was very good. It is really nice to have a good quality authentic Indian restaurant in the Lansing/East Lansing area. Butter chicken, shrimp masala, naan with the ground lamb and Tandoori chicken were what we ordered and they were all very tasty. Service was very good. I would recommend they invest in a fountain pop machine as soda is in cans. Also a beer/wine selection would also compliment the cuisine. We will definitely eat here again. I would like to try their goat dishes and garlic naan on the next visit!

Rob S.

Yelp
By the far the strangest restaurant I have been to in the Lansing area. The place had dirty booths even we came in at most 15 minutes after they reopened for dinner. Without asking our preference, they offered us bottled water at the outset (my wife and I hate single-use plastics). Two different radio stations were blaring (one in English and one in an Indian language) over each other. The last straw was a phone that was allowed to ring at least 15 times right next to us with caller ID and the ringtone at maximum volume. We cancelled our order and went to the pho place next door. Beyond weird.

Andy M.

Yelp
New India Restaurant in Okemos is worth a visit. Large menu and friendly staff. Generous portions. Chicken in my Natukodi Chicken Curry was very tender. Be warned - I love curry and the medium was very hot. Looks like they have a buffet which wasn't open - maybe at lunch?I'll want to return to try.

Jason R.

Yelp
Polite and just plain delicious! Their spicy chicken curry is to die for if you're not already dead.

Deborah O.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Some of the best, and most authentic, Indian food I have had. Value for the money, too!

Sri K.

Yelp
Worst meal - ever!! Ordered a very basic Indian food. All i got was a piece of garbage. Food is mostly frozen and re-heated food. Prices are too hight for the food they serve. People work there has no common sense. When i asked about the food they just took the plates back to kitchen and never come back except to charge the bill. No courtesy.

Georgia G.

Yelp
After traveling around South Asia, and tasting many Great dishes, this restaurant is by far the BEST Indian food in greater Lansing. If you don't know spice combos of the Indian culture, then this is not for you. The people who work there are super helpful, and polite and explain the dishes. We eat here regularly and have NEVER had a bad meal or service. It's annoying to see reviews where people critique the food they clearly don't get and if you get pick up, check the order. It's a 2 way street. These guys are working hard and there's a lack of appreciation for the actual elevation of cuisine this brings to the area.

Renee B.

Yelp
My friends and I have been going to one Indian place for a long time because that's the only place we like. We stumbled across Paradise and decided to try it out. SO. DELICIOUS! Quick service and the food was fantastic. I was going to take a picture, but ate it too fast since it was so delicious! Will definitely be going here again!

Nicole H.

Yelp
The food and service was amazing! Probably one of the best Indian spots we've ever had (our other fav being inTexas!)! We will definitely be back! We ordered Chicken Tikka Marsala with Garlic Naan, and it was Bomb! They give you enough for a couple meals! We are customers for life! We may even order it again today! LoL Thank You!!

Deb K.

Yelp
Placed an order for pickup today. When I went in to pick up my order employee wasn't wearing face mask or gloves.

Caley F.

Yelp
Walked in and there was a lunch buffet. Felt really awkward as soon as we walked in, didn't know if we sat ourselves or went to the counter. Waited at the counter for an awkward amount of time and no one said anything even though they saw us so we just sat down. As far as the buffet, everything was out, the guy at the table next to us said there was nothing and asked for them to make more... we ate, then went to the counter and paid. No interaction. One of the strangest experiences ever. The food that we had (like one dish- butter chicken) was very good. But that is all I had :/

Aqib J.

Yelp
The food was mediocre at best, and I am taking liberty with the term mediocre. I ordered the fish tandoori and it was not cooked properly, my partner ordered the Briyani and boy was that underwhelming. The only plus point is the staff are courteous and friendly. But than again you are going there to eat and if the food is not good what good is the courteous staff. In essence the food leaves a lot to the imagination.

John M.

Yelp
When this place first opened the food was good and consistent & like many places the food becomes inconsistent - sometimes it's good other times it's bad. The other thing is that they are always late and don't give appropriate time frames. Often they say ready in 20-30 mins and you get there and end up waiting an extra 30 mins. Also, I have had multiple dashers wait and leave and then you get screwed by door dash.

daphne r.

Yelp
I would say the 3.5 stars overall is a legit standing on yelp. Some dishes are definitely better than others. If you have a craving and pick the right stuff off the buffet you will be happier than if you pick the wrong stuff. There is absolutely a chance of being disappointed. On the up-side: it is clean, plenty of parking, rices and desserts are really good. Downside: all chicken was dry and masala chai was pretty watered down tasting.

Sarah K.

Yelp
This place is so good. We had a masala dosa and biryani. My new favorite place in Okemos.

Bert G.

Yelp
+This was a terrible experience. it took them 45 minutes to bring all of orders and most dishes were brought at separate times with as much as five minutes between orders. Bread and rice also came sporadically and not with the dishes. Nobody in this restaurant knows how to serve customers and the "waiters" need to go to waitering school. My family and I were laughing at how bad the service is. The food is not worth the lousy service. Not going back.

Virajitha R.

Yelp
I have had food catered from Paradise for my baby shower and I couldn't be happier. Every item on the menu was tasty, customized to our needs and packaged well so we could transport avoiding any spillage. Every body at the party enjoyed all the delicacies. While everything on the menu was finger-licking good, my favorite was chicken biryani, tender mutton curry, curd rice and hands down the best Gulaab Jamun I had in a very long time. Thank you guys for catering for us and we look forward to ordering from you guys for our future events.

Lauren A.

Yelp
Food is excellent! Authentic spice and very flavorful. Service could be better. Will be coming back!

Lvly A.

Yelp
We ordered mutton dum biryani. What they gave is mutton tomato gravy curry topped with basmati rice. We called them and informed to exchange or refund. They said next time we will look into that. What about this time and they charged $13:99 for worthless food

Robert B.

Yelp
Great food. Some of the best Indian food I have had in a long time. Great variety of dishes with great service. Clean inviting roomy atmosphere.

Shelby G.

Yelp
An Indian friend recommended this place to us, and we couldn't be happier with our meal! My bad habit is to always get the same things at different restaurants, but I resisted the urge and went for all new things: masala dosa, phool makana curry, gongura chicken curry, hyderadad goat curry, and the chicken dum biryani. The texture of the Phool Makana threw me for a second since I was expecting it to be harder like a chickpea, but it was much softer. Overall, the three curries were less creamy compared to a lot of more Americanized dishes, but still very flavorful. Our spice level ranged from medium to hot; there was some nice heat in the dishes, but I think we may ask for Indian spicy next time. My only minor issue was that the rice that came with the curries were regular short grain rice rather than the longer grain basmati rice, but since we got the biryani, that ended up not being a big deal. They had great Covid precautions, and pick up was super easy. Highly recommend!

Stefani S.

Yelp
Good for lunch!! Great flavors. Very authentic, clean, friendly staff. Will make this a regular Lynch spot.

Joe B.

Yelp
Looks like they've only been open a few days when we went. They had a wonderful buffet, all the food i had was fresh and flavorful. There was a variety of Indian dishes I never had before; I consider myself a pretty adventurous eater, so this was great! It doesn't happen very often that I find something I've never had before. The dining room was clean and spacious. My three year old daughter was obsessed with the bubble wall that divides the main dining room from what looks like an event space or overflow dining. We were happily surprised to learn that our daughter ate free. The staff was attentive and friendly.

Vinod S.

Yelp
Went on the opening day. There was long line of food lovers for buffet which is a positive sign for opening day. Food was amazing as expected from Paradise brand. There were few glitches as expected for any opening day but not worth mentioning as they will be fixed over time. Restaurant was also very spacious with enough seating. Overall had a good experience.

Sam S.

Yelp
This place doesn't have the consistency. Once in a while you will get delicious biryani and if you you expect the same things next time you won't get it. The same goes with other appetizers as well. Appreciate if they can maintain the consistency in what they serve.

John D.

Yelp
Outstanding Indian food and lunch buffet... new, clean, trendy... love this place. I've yet to try a dinner there, but imagine it would be just as good as lunch. There's a poor review from opening day, but what restaurant has their game dialed in on opening day? Don't let that dissuade you, highly recommend :)

Jess T.

Yelp
I get that times are tough but when you pay $35 for two entrees and you get a container full of curry that is basically soup with 1 piece of brocolli and a handful of carrot slices, it may be time to call it a day...it was NOT worth $13 an entree.

Una I.

Yelp
We have had several very enjoyable meals at Paradise in Okemos. The food has been consistently outstanding and delicious. Best value is 'all you can eaT'. Offers a great variety of Indian fair. Staff are friendly and helpful and will take the time to explain the dish's if in doubt. Paradise Indian restaurant is a great addition to Okemos.
