Paradise Biryani Pointe Review - Artesia - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Paradise Biryani Pointe is an Indian restaurant chain with several locations across the country. They specialize in—you guessed it—biryani, and servers here carry these rice dishes full of marinated meats and spices around the room like piles of gold. Paradise Biryani Pointe can certainly fill up on weekends, but ultimately serves as a mellow spot to grab a quick dinner during the week. There are usually music videos playing on the TVs above the bar and a couple of families feasting on huge bowls of chicken biryani." - Nikko Duren

We walked into Paradise Biryani in the San Diego location and noticed how clean the place was + the staff and our server Melroy was very nice and attentive! We ordered the Chicken Dum Biryani & the Hyderabad Goat Masala both of which were very Flavorful & Tasty! After our meal our server gave us a complimentary Double Ka Meta which was so Delic! We will definitely be back here again! Thank you :-)

Google
We ordered Paneer Butter Masala Pizza, Chilli Toast, and vegetable street noodles. Paneer butter masala pizza was a nice fusion of Indian curry and pizza. It was little bit on a sweeter note but tasty nonetheless. I will give it 5/5. Vegetable street noodles was also perfectly cooked. The noodles were cooked to perfection and so were the vegetables. The only thing I didn’t like is lack of cleanliness. The booth wall where we were sitting had spatters of food which is quite disgusting. It does raise questions about they must be keeping their kitchen. The prices were affordable and there is plenty of parking in the center.

We used to love Paradise, and it was our go-to for boneless chicken biryani last year. The quality and taste were consistently good back then, but our recent experiences have been disappointing. We had to wait a long time to be seated because the tables weren’t cleaned, even after we requested multiple times. That was very disappointing. Boneless chicken dum biryani now has more breading than meat, lacks flavor, and is excessively oily. Murgh Tangdi was slightly undercooked and also too oily. One major turn-off was the dirty and smelly cloth wrapped around the sizzler plate handle—it really affected the dining experience. Mango lassi was good and tasty.

My son brought me and my daughter here for lunch. I am a vegetarian and loved all of their lunch specials and meal choices. The food was delicious and flavorful! The server was very nice and attentive. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Google
I love the boneless chicken dum biryani here. This is my ultimate go-to for biryani. The chicken is so tender and full of flavor! I always ask for extra spicy (basically extra masala) and I think that enhances the flavor even more. They have booth seating on one side of the restaurant and the rest of the space is filled with normal tables and chairs. It can accommodate big groups if necessary. I noticed that they have started selling Indian pizza now! I might have to give this a try at some point, when I don't fall prey to ordering my usual. lol.

Google
The food was amazing, the employees were kind and quick. Not a long wait at all. We had a great first time and will be back! Prices are also hard to beat.

Gourab Dey

Google
Authentic South Indian biryani with exact combination of spices. Delicious food with reasonable price.

Google
This is probably my favorite Indian food restaurant in all of the county! Their fusion foods like wings from heaven mix in a Chinese fusion vibe but they also have curry and street noodles that are well seasoned and spicy. I always ask for everything super hot. Their naan is fresh and delightfully chewy. Everything is made really well and fresh.

Yelp
This week, I stumbled upon a culinary gem called Paradise Biryani Point, and let me tell you, it was a delightful adventure for my taste buds! First up, I tried their Butter Chicken Pizza. Yes, you read that right! It's like Italy met India and decided to throw a flavor-packed party. The creamy, tangy butter chicken atop a crispy, cheesy pizza base was a match made in foodie heaven. Next, I dove into the Chicken 65 Chicken Wings. These little wings of joy were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and spiced to perfection. Each bite was a crunchy, spicy explosion that had me licking my fingers and reaching for more. The Chicken Tikka Masala was another star of the show. Rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor, it was the kind of dish that makes you want to mop up every last drop with a warm piece of naan. And let's not forget the hospitality! The staff were incredibly friendly and made sure our dining experience was top-notch. It felt like they were as excited about the food as we were, which added to the overall amazing vibe of the place. In summary, Paradise Biryani Point is a must-visit for anyone who loves good food and great service. Whether you're in the mood for a unique fusion like Butter Chicken Pizza or classic Indian flavors, this place has got you covered. Can't wait to go back and try more from their menu!

Yelp
What an incredible food adventure at Curry Pizza Point and ST Paradise Biryani! SocalTasting indulged in the most amazing curry pizzas and wings that left our taste buds dancing with joy. We tried two types of paneer pizzas: the Paneer Curry Pizza with Chili Paneer and the Malai Chicken Pizza, as well as a Curry Chicken Pizza. Each bite was a flavor explosion, and you could truly taste the difference between traditional and curry pizzas. The mouth-watering flavors of the curry pizzas had us coming back for more, with the delicious sauces adding the perfect touch. Along with the pizzas, we savored the Curry Wings and Curry Chicken Wings. The aroma alone was irresistible, and the flavors were just phenomenal. The Curry Chicken Wings reminded us of Chicken 65 wings but stood out on their own with a unique, delicious twist. Amazing job, Curry Pizza Point! This is a must-try spot in San Diego. We'll be back soon for more!

Yelp
ordered a butter paneer pizza to go and it took a long time to make, but it was definitely worth the wait! i recommend adding some cayenne pepper instead of the pepper flakes they provide; it's so good :)) staff was very friendly and hospitable.

Yelp
Tried new curry pizza from paradise biryani Pointe, and it does not disappoint us. Tried chilli paneer and butter paneer masala,Taste was amazing. I was always hesitant to try Indian curry pizza but I would love to try more flavor. I gave 4 starts because of the service, order took longer than expected.

Yelp
Ordered delivery after having a craving and man this place is good! CHICKEN DUM BIRYANI was amazing! So much flavor in the biryani rice, and good amount of chicken too! Rice was perfectly cooked. Light and fluffy. Not too much of the masala curry which was a plus point. Big portion size too. Definitely value for money! Enough for 2 people (unless you're real hungry)

Yelp
A new Indian restaurant opened in Mira Mesa. They have curry pizza and it's really good! Highly recommend.

Yelp
I've eaten Biriyani take out from one or two paradise Biriyani pointe locations and it's always been delicious! This location was no different. First, we ordered the tandoori chicken to go and were given half a chicken for portioning, which I was grateful for! The tandoori chicken was absolutely delicious and had me sucking on the bones :) The chicken was moist and flavorful. It wasn't overly spicy and I was happy not to be stuck with any dry part. The biriyani was served traditionally with a boiled egg. It came with multiple sauces like Biriyani masala sauce as well as raita. The dish was flavorful and not overly spicy as well. The chicken pieces included in the rice were bone in and large pieces. I felt like both dishes were just what we wanted and made thoughtfully!

Yelp
Tried this place out in Mira Mesa. There's plenty of parking and the place wasn't busy at all even on a Friday night. It seems like a lot of people get catering here and I can see why. We ordered the goat dum biryani, garlic naan, pakora, mango lassi, and dum ka murugh. Every dish that came out was really good and really flavorful. I can tolerate spice but I think we order did the levels when we ordered. Definitely good to order a couple of dishes less spicy to balance out the others. The servers were also really nice and helpful. We wanted to get other dishes besides the usual butter chicken so they were patient and explained other dishes to try out. Would absolutely come back here and try more of their dishes!

Yelp
This will be my favorite restaurant for getting biryani in San Diego. Ordered Boneless chicken dum biryani. The rice is soft and flavorful. Rice is on top and chicken at the bottom. It came with 2 sauces, yogurt and curry. The other dishes - butter chicken, garlic naan, Hyderabad goat with masala sauce were tasty and properly spiced. Service was fast. NOTE: entrees don't come with rice or naan. A bowl of rice was $2. An order of garlic naan was $4. Add that to your entree price. Marked this down for worthy re-visit restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Great lunch specials The butter chicken was very tasty and the naan was very crispy Everybody in my party enjoyed it

Yelp
Hands down the best Indian cuisine, especially a late night meal. They have a large clean area to sit, staff is very friendly and attentive. We got the chicken tikka masala, Tikka kebab, garlic naan, rice, and a side of raita. The waiter even brought us a complimentary samosa! This place is a must try if you're craving this delicious cuisine.

Zainab A.

Yelp
Good food. Ordered veg n non veg biryani. Wonderful servicewould love to go there again .

Yelp
We have been coming to Paradise for years now. Their boneless & bone-in chicken dum biryanis are sensational and consistently good. We also enjoy their appetizers such as cut mirchi and pakora. Overall, it would be a great experience if they could serve rasmalai at the end when it's nice and chill. Attentive staff. Less crowded during weekdays.

Yelp
Got take out for dinner and had wanted to try this spot for a while. The Paradise Boneless Chicken Dum Biryani and the Bullet Naan was some of the best Indian food I've had in a long time. Only regret is that I didn't find this gem of a spot sooner.
google avatar

Yelp
This will be my favorite restaurant in terms of Indian cuisine. The one that I liked was already close in business. So sad. This place saved my day. Their food is rich, flavourful and diverse' I love it. The place is extremely clean and decent serving. The service is excellent and very accommodating. I would love to come back again.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing spot in Mira Mesa for Indian food with flavorful biryani and rich curries. The portions are generous and the food is delicious here. It was a chill night when we visited, so the staff ended up giving us a dish that resembled chocolate-filled samosas for free. Great spot that I will definitely visit again.

Farah M.

Yelp
Amazing food- flavors are so authentic and just spicy enough, but not too spicy! I recommend trying this good food and also supporting a family-owned business!

Ty H.

Yelp
Butter Chicken Pizza, new item to their menu 10/10 recommend. Customer service was amazing and the pizza was ready within 10 minutes of ordering.
google avatar

Hiral S.

Yelp
This used to be my go to place for some delicious Indian food. I hate to add this review but the last couple of times we have noticed that the quality of the biryani has gone down. The vegetable biryani is oily and very few veggies are now added. Well- I am going to have to stick to Charminar now unless I hear from others that paradise has made changes to improve their quality.
google avatar

Susamoy A.

Yelp
Chicken vepudu is described as street style fried chicken. Also confirmed with the server that if it's fried chicken, he said yes. We got chicken cooked in thick gravy. Asked the server, he had no idea what the item should look like. He sent me to the cashier & she said this is how it is. I pointed at the menu & she said that's how it is. Since I didn't know the how the item actually is, I had to take their words. It'd be nice if they'd acknowledge the mistake in the menu. Now comes the spiciness level. I eat spicy food, but even for me the medium spicy food was way too spicy. We were struggling with the food. We ordered Chicken dum biriyani, chicken vepudu, fried rice, paneer manchurian. Nothing stood out as great food. It was ok food. I've had way much more better food in LA. Only saving grace was salted lassi, which was actually mint lassi & shahi ka tukda. The sitting arrangement is nice & it's ideal for large group. Maybe asking for mild would be nice if you're not a fan of super spicy food
google avatar

Matthew A.

Yelp
Good food. Consistency and hot and tasty and great for delivery. This is one of my go tos.

Irene F.

Yelp
If you like Indian food, then you are at the right place. I've not tried everything on the menu except for my favorites. I love the goat biryani the best. It is clean and the staff are nice and friendly.

Yelp
Enjoyed a delicious dinner here the other night! What the place lacks in aesthetic, it makes up for in the food. The place was near empty at the beginning of our meal but began to fill up with patrons and get busy towards the end. We went with the egg curry, paradise paneer dum biryani, with an order of garlic naan. We ordered the dishes to be spicy and they definitely were. Service interaction was pretty minimal but we got everything we needed. Definitely recommend the food and try takeout if you're not interested in dining in.

Yelp
Delicious Indian food in Mira Mesa. I loved the chicken Briyani dish with bone in chicken. They gave huge portions of meat, like at least 4-5 pieces, which I really appreciated. It was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. It also came with 2 traditional sauces. We also got the butter chicken which was super flavorful as well. It's made really well but a little too flavorful for my bf. As sides we added on garlic naan which was SUPER good. It came out fluffy, fresh and delicious!!! I think pricing was pretty fair, with the curry and briyani being $13-14. One downside was that rice or naan wasn't included with the curry which usually happens at other places. Hopefully they can add a side of rice for free with the curry so it can be a full meal.
google avatar

Manvita M.

Yelp
Ordered Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani, Triple fried rice and chai. All of them were pretty good and the service was super quick
google avatar

Krypton C.

Yelp
One of three go-to places for when we crave Indian food. We recommend any of the biryani dishes here - most authentic flavors, quality ingredients, and decent portions, and the garlic naan: We knock a star here for the other food options. The two curries we ordered were full of flavor, but there was barely and chicken (two drumsticks) in one dish and paneer (countable) in the other. Additionally, they don't come with rice (ordered separately). The mango lassi was good to try once, but NOT a must.
google avatar

Lily M.

Yelp
It was an unassuming restaurants when my friends and I first walked pass. But we are very happy that we gave it a shot. The food was amazing and the wait staff was very welcoming and friendly. It is nice that they can adjust the spice level upon request, so even my friends who can't tolerate spice well can enjoy authentic Indian food. 1000% would come again. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
First Biryani Experience made me a Fan! I eat Asian food, often, but Indian food is a once a quarter event. I usually get Indian with an Indian; it's important to find the authentic dish. Ate every bit, felt full through the whole movie unlike most Asian meals. Eat it!
google avatar

Timothy L.

Yelp
This place has the best butter chicken I have ever had. I'm not even joking! We came for the biryani but the butter chicken blew my mind. It was super creamy and very spicy which I didn't expect. There's a lot of chicken chunks so the portions were generous. We also got the chicken dum biryani and that was also very good. There was 2 giant drumsticks underneath all of the flavorful rice. Everything was super flavorful. Service was ok but the food was the star.

Yelp
Yesterday, I was included in an outing with two other Knights of Columbus members for lunch, one of whom was from India (Goa) and he selected Paradise Biryani Pointe with us as an excellent example of fabulous India food. Approximately 18 years ago, I spent approximately 50% of my time in India for work, but really, . . . . staying at the Grand Hyatt Mumbia is not like being "IN INDIA." The dishes selected my fellow Knight host were AMAZING!! We started with the Apollo Fish, a dish from Hyperbad that was so tender and every bite was wonderfully spiced - NOT spicy hot, but flavorful! Then for the main course, he selected the Chicken Dum Biryani, the Dum Ka Gosht, the Paradise Dal Fry and a Butter Naan and a Garlic Naan!! Ohhhh my goodness, . . . . . .each dish was so flavorful. The biryani, normally a meal in itself, was so delicious! And the Dal Fry, . . . .wonderfully cooked lentils, was the perfect compliment to the Biryani as a wet dish compared to the dryness of the rice in the Biryani. And then the goat meat in the Dum Ka Gosht, . . . . a wonderful curry made with ground cashews was soooooooo delicious - it was my favorite dish with the subtle taste of the cashews. And the butter Naan and the Garlic Naan - I could eat that at every meal, Indian cuisine of any other cuisine!! I can't wait to go back!!
google avatar

Rahul C.

Yelp
Excellent byriani and butter chicken. Very happy I found this place. I have eaten byriani at a lot of places and this is the closest to the kind you get in India.

Yelp
I love Indian food but never thought of getting at Paradise Biryani Pointe. My friends coworker recommended this restaurant. The restaurant is located in the same plaza as Rite-Aid and Mcdonalds. We went around Sunday lunch. They weren't busy at all and were seated fairly quickly. I did notice that they did have a bunch of catering orders that day. We decided to get some our favorite dishes like Butter chicken, Samosas, and Garlic Naan. My friends coworker told him that we need to their Biryani. 1. Samosas: Its not on the menu. We asked our server if they sell them and he said they do. The order came with 3 samosas. They were classic Samosas. 2. Butter Chicken: I think this was the bet butter chicken I've ever had. When he dropped the dish, you can see the melted butter on top. I had a kick to it which I appreciated. Love the flavor and added spice. 3. Garlic Naan: They didn't skimp on the garlic. The naan was covered in garlic and it was delicious. 4. Chicken Dum Biryani: His coworker was right. This is a must try dish. It came in a bowl full of rice, spices, and a hard boiled egg. Under all of that, was the chicken. You would have to grab your rice first then the chicken. The chicken was juicy and had a lot of flavor. The dish came with yogurt and curry on the side. Out of the two sauces, we preferred the yogurt. Overall, I slept on this Indian restaurant. I cant wait to go back.

Milan K.

Yelp
This was my second time at this restaurant and I loved it. The wait staff was very friendly and treated us like family. We had Gobi Manchurian, chicken tikka masala, and goat biriyani. We even had gulab jaman. My wife and mom both loved it and they treated my daughter like their own. Highly recommend!!!!!!!
google avatar

Sushi L.

Yelp
Portion wasn't great for the Apollo fish but it was tasty. We had plenty for the Tikka masala and goat curry and garlic naan was good as expected. Biryani which should be their specialty was good also but everything was a bit spicier than expected and we asked for medium level. Table next to us was super loud with screaming kids and babies so that kind of ruined our enjoyment but not the place's fault.
google avatar

Sony M.

Yelp
I was so excited to see paradise biryani pointe open up in San Diego. For initial year their food was amazing and tasty. From last year it's nothing but a bowl of spicy mess no matter how mild food I order from here. I am seriously not sure why they decided to make each and every item on their menu so spicy even after repeatedly asking for mild versions. I hope they fix it soon and I can go back to enjoying some nice Hyderabadi biryani here.
google avatar

Nusra L.

Yelp
Some food r good some r not good. Paneer 65 was awful have to throw away. Butter chicken no good. Paneer tikka masala was great. Cheese naan the best. Bullet naan was burnt naan very sad.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
This spot hits the spot. If you are looking for good biryanis that is flavorful and spicy, this is the spot to go to. We got a couple of dishes but the biryani took the spotlight. Be aware that this spot makes their food very spicy. We got a medium and it was almost too spicy to eat but it was good. I would come back to this spot.
google avatar

Ree S.

Yelp
The food was really good! We went on a Tuesday and it was pretty crowded. Seemed like mostly locals, which is great! We got medium spice and it was on the spicer side for me but was perfect for my husband. The service was okay! They were attentive enough, but it's not like a sit down restaurant where a waiter is going to come over and ask how your doing etc. No real ambiance, It's a local spot that has great food!
google avatar

Swetha A.

Yelp
The biryanis are tasty but a bit spicy. It's a great place for anyone looking to have some Hyderabadi style briyani. Portion sizes are less , just an fyi
google avatar

Murugan P.

Yelp
Can we give negative 5 stars for this business? Very poor service. No respect or basic courtesy for customers time or money. Food is sub par quality. Made me wait 20 minutes longer and no apologies for making me wait. Staff forgot to pack condiments with my to go order. Staff we're joking and talking amongst themselves about me while I was waiting. Poor management and operations. Food is not great either.
google avatar

Rafael B.

Yelp
The best biryani in San Diego. Also the best butter chicken in southern California. The balance of flavor is perfect. The service could be better but I don't have high expectations from any Indian restaurant in San Diego on that front. I love their mutton (goat) biryani. Reminds me of India. It is always fresh and looks amazing too! The ambiance is good for taking friends and family, but this is definitely not a first-date restaurant. Apollo fish is amazing too! Other Indo Chinese food is not that good.
google avatar

Kenny C.

Yelp
We decided to check this place out for lunch on a Saturday and were able to get a table quickly. The inside of this restaurant is pretty big and clean and our service was decent throughout the meal. We tried an order of naan, a chicken entrée (I forget which one), as well as the veggie biryani. Everything came out quickly and our favorites were definitely the naan (hot and fresh!) and the biryani which had a ton of flavor and a nice kick. The chicken entrée we ordered was a bit disappointing as it was essentially just fried chicken tossed in some light sauce. Overall, I was happy with our meal here and would come back again to try out the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Ann N.

Yelp
I love their chicken masala and chicken butter both being extra spicy along with garlic naan. They are sooooo creamy and thick. Give it a try if you have never tried Indian food before.

Cherilyn L.

Yelp
Found this restaurant very spontaneously as we we're actually planning on another place in the plaza. The flavor in each dish was impeccably amazing. The fish curry we were warned was spice, and yes it was. Can't wait for the next visit!
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Sauces were very flavorful and unique - seems like they're cooking from scratch rather than from a bag. There's really no ambiance, but if you're looking for good food at affordable prices this is a winner. Pro tip for non-Indian folks: be conservative on the spice level. We ordered medium and almost couldn't eat the food. We eat Mexican spices, so we're not plain jane eaters, but this was another level. Servers were very attentive.

Babak M.

Yelp
These guys are simply the best. I have been trying every new Indian restaurant in town and nobody comes close to the tasty range of options available at Paradise Biryani. Their food is a bit on the extra spicy side but the flavor and quality are fantastic. I have tried almost everything on the menu and loved it all. Last friday we tried their Lasooni chicken as well as a new whole chicken dish along with several types of Naan bread. Wow! That Lasooni chicken came on a sizzling plate and was extra succulent with an intersting and fragrant flavor (Saffron maybe?) The whole chicken dish, whose name escapes m,e was filled with some sort of nut and herb mixture and was beyond wonderful. I can't wait till my next visit!
google avatar

0heisei0 C.

Yelp
The food here is great! Even though everything here is quite spicy, i still loved it. The food came promptly and despite the size of the bowls, the portions are larger than you expect. I would consider coming here again!
google avatar

Erik B.

Yelp
You may not realize this is a chain, but it is a chain of very good restaurants. Here in Mira Mesa, where we have excellent Indian food of different styles, Paradise stands out for fantastic biryani and late hours. The food is fresh, very authentic, and therefore potentially fatal if you think you like spicy food but don't understand what it really can be, haha! Don't worry, they will talk with you about how spicy you'd like it in advance, but if you say medium prepare for that to be someone to very hot at a local Mexican restaurant, for example and comparison. My favorite is the Paradise boneless chicken dum biryani, an explosion of color, flavor depth and spice. Steaming hot, delicious and worth driving here if you haven't been. Now do you like naan, the stone fired Indian bread? Well they've got a new one: Bullet Naan. It's loaded with chili peppers, and it's freaking great!

Fyrad A.

Yelp
This place was my go-to place for Byriani. It was nice and spicy and full of flavor. After trying 3 times it appears they have changed the recipe. Unfortunately, the quality has gone way down. The flavors are bland with fewer ingredients. I hope they bring the old recipe back.
