You definitely get what you pay for. It wasn't really expensive at all, but the food was pretty good. We both left full. The server was definitely very young and inexperienced, but despite that he actually wasn't bad at all. Considering he was doing EVERYTHING by himself, I was very impressed. The glory days are likely behind them based on some of the better reviews.... But it wasn't a horrible experience like some of the other reviews.

I think they have so many stars because they have their friends leaving reviews. This place is filthy! They didn't have any of the first 3 items we ordered. I ended up listening my hand sanitizer to the people at the table next to us because their table was so disgusting they didn't want to touch their food or drinks. Time to shut it down and let somebody who cares about what they offer have the chance to take over the space

I went here for breakfast not too long ago and ordered the French toast with a side of turkey bacon. The quality of the food and service were both good. They didn't have much business that day so there was only one person working, but he greeted me warmly and cooked my food quickly. When I bit into the French toast I felt like it was buttering the inside of my mouth. I am only taking one star off since there were some boxes and what looked like recycling piled up in the back. Not that it was a huge problem, but it could have been kept cleaner. Ask in all this is definitely a place you want to keep in mind for breakfast.

I went here today. TERRIBLE. How do the have 4stars. Egg platter. Hash browns refried and hard. Eggs not scrabbled. Grill was dirty. Told young guy about potatoes. He offered more but I said that's ok..Don't go here.Young waiter was nice but I shouldn't have been given refried burnt potatoes..

Service was very good. The food was fast and good. Most was not the best I’ve had but the home fries were amazing and definitely worth coming back for.

The menue needs to be updated and their website needs to update their operating hours. I went there a couple months ago for lunch and I had to keep changing my order because they didn't have everything on their menue. I decided to give them another shot and get a breakfast platter. they're not open at 9 like their website says.so I waited until 10. The eggs and bacon were good but the home fries were terrible. I wanted scrapple bur ofcource they didn't have it even tho their menue says the do

Placed my order on the phone and they told me it’ll be about 15 mins. Gave them 15 minutes, walked in the place and wasn’t even greeted. They had 1 guy doing all the work by himself while serving to other couples that were seated. I walked out about to order from somewhere else but thought I’d give them more time. They called 10 minutes later saying my order was ready. Home fries were hard as a rock and the French toast looked shriveled up. I had ordered from this place years ago and the food and service was great and expected it to be the same but the food and service weren’t good at all.

So disgustingly bad... there are no words. I ordered 2 scrambled eggs, bacon and an english muffin with butter. I ate the bacon and it was ok (little under cooked), but wouldn't touch those brown, flat, stuck together eggs if my life depended on it and the 1/8 of an inch of what they want to pass off as butter... foul! Look at that, guess there is a word.

If I could give this place a 3.5 , I WOULD. However im gonna settle with a 3. Both the service and food was amazing ( minus the fact that the potatoes were over cooked. The place is small and intimate . The wait is little to none . The offer bottle and can refreshments which I like ( even though they didn't have sprite ). Definitely would come back

On a Sunday morning breakfast: my friend ordered an egg sandwich on toasted rye with scrapple. They didn't have rye and only one piece of scrapple. She switched to toasted white and told them she'd take the last piece of scrapple. I ordered an egg sandwich on English Muffin with bacon. We sat at a filthy table and I finally asked for something to clean it and then passed out have sanitizer from my purse for is she the table behind us. They didn't have glasses for ice water so I bought a can of soda. After waiting for about 10 minutes the counter person can't to tell us they don't have English muffins so we got our money back and escaped, counting our blessings because I'm pretty sure the one thing they did have on their menu was food poisoning

If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. 9AM on a Saturday. Usually prime time for a diner and the place is EMPTY. The two staff members who were there acted like we (party of 2) were intruding on their time and bothering them. The tables were sticky, and looked as though they hadn't been bussed in weeks. There was a strange odor in the air and the AC seemed to be not working right. They apparently don't serve coffee, unsweetened tea, or soft drinks as they said they flat out don't serve the first two, and had to go across the street for Diet Coke. The killer was when I ordered something from the printed menu that was handed to me when we were seated, I got "We don't serve that." That was when we got up and left. Is this place some kind of front or something? If they don't serve what's on the menu, why are they open? Needless to say, I won't be back.

We had a lovely meal at the Paradise Cafe. Ollie was amazing. Her made sure we were ok and got what we needed. The food was fresh and cooked based on when we ordered. The food was great. We will definitely go back.

So a couple of weeks ago we ordered our food with full anticipation and on the brink of hangar. We expected it to arrive within 40 minutes via GrubHub. An hour went by...my belly started to scream. I opened the app to check order status and it asked how my delivery went. Uh... WHAT DELIVERY?! Advance through the calls/moans/groans. I went out to get food, was about to eat a different meal and I got a call from Paradise Cafe. They apologized profusely and explained that my order never actually made it to their restaurant through their GrubHub delivery system computer. Paradise offered to give me a free meal to try them out again and promised it would be better. Its weeks later and we never took them up on the offer but I remembered that this place had some unique food and I was tired of fast food. Today I ordered the Onion Rings, Meatball Sub with Mozarella, Philly Cheesesteak, Gyro with fries, and ceasar salad. Everything was excellent, delivered within 25minutes (fast!) and hot and fresh. I absolutely love the full flavor of the meatball sub but found the Gyro lacking. I lived in Europe so I am used to the fresh shaved Gyro meat and this looked like pre-cut cooked slices. It still had a decent flavor but needed more umph with the red pepper and a different tzatiki sauce. The Caesar salad croutons were the best but they used iceberg lettuce instead of romaine which threw off the flavor. I enjoyed the spices they put on the huge croutons. Yum! The onion rings were normal, decent, possible slightly over-fried but I would order again. Definitely check out the meatball sub. That sauce and cheese...holy moly! My husband said he also enjoyed the Philly Cheesesteak. It was very filling. And the grubhub guy told me at delivery that he really liked their little restaurant. He said he never been so he said he'd check it out himself too!

Amazingly delicious foods that come out perfect almost every time. The staff are super friendly and take the time to get to know you especially if your a local or a repeat customer. Its a local spot and has a nice cozy atmosphere with quick service. I enjoy coming here for lunch and a grab n go breakfast

We went for breakfast. My wife had eggs and a toasted raisin bagel. I had the Denver omelette with home fries. Everything was delicious. Service was great. Simple cafe. We sat at the counter.

Good food and nice presentations all the time this place is worth the money you spend plus they got very affordable prices $ $$ $$$ besides other restaurants they take more from you than what you take from em. anyway shout outs to the young chefs who's cooking ‍ he's very friendly and communicative and that's a + the service is perfect in #Paradisecafe ambience looks pretty good too bad I been in rush to dine in but soon ima be back ready yo dine in . NO STARS. Out of towners looking for a nice breakfast. Get there at 8:30 and the door is locked. It's Sunday, so maybe the hours are different? Nope. The lights are on and there's a girl inside, walking around. Hubby called and we hear the phone ringing Inside but she didn't answer it. He motioned "what time do you open?" And she shrugged her shoulders. Tsk tsk

Stopped in for a lunch with a friend. After we came inside, I really wasn't sure I wanted to stay. The place was dim and cluttered and not clean looking. But, my friend was ok with it...so we did. The place settings were not complete, so the young man who served got us all new place settings. From behind the counter he asked what we would like to drink. We asked for sodas which were brought in the can. He ran across the street to the grocery store for ice and produced two glasses with ice. At some point he asked if we were ready to order and we had to point out that we didn't have menus. So he got them for us...the menus had dried food on them, so I was reluctant to hold it for long and just scooted it around the table. I ordered chili, but even though a menu staple, they didn't have it. He offered me crab soup instead, which turned out not very temperature hot, and much too spicy hot to eat the whole thing, but good with lots in it. If you like spicy, you would like it. I should have asked to have it heated up, but was busy catching up with my friend. The Old Bay fries were good. My friend ordered a BLT and didn't comment on it. The nicest thing about the place was the server, who was polite and left us alone to talk...so we stayed about 1 1/2 hrs. I feel badly that I entirely forgot the tip, as I was in the bathroom when the bill was paid. Hoping my friend did - and I will pay her back later. The bathroom was clean, though I don't think the door locked...I think the fan warns people there is someone in there. It is a very neighborhoody place and those that stopped in seemed to know the server and the lady (may have been his mom?) behind the counter. Looked like good people.

Saturday morning 9:17am arrived for breakfast. Not open. Supposed to open 6:30am. OPEN sign off. Tried the door and it was locked. Had to make a second plan for breakfast. When leaving and driving past the cafe, voila, the OPEN sign was on. Too Late!! Too bad. Was really looking forward to trying them out. Not sure there will be a next time.

Eeeee... the Paradise has back-slid on us. Badly. The cook who was in the process of re-vamping the menu? Gone. The owner's cooking now, and he's not that good at it. Plus, he's got no concept of how to deal with dining customers. I don't really want to have an extended conversation about the food and constantly be asked how things are. I'm not impressed that you managed to grill up some stuff on a flat-top and stick it on toast. Stop bugging me every two minutes and engaging in awkward small talk. Most of the time, I really just want to eat in peace. Not only that, but if there's more than two orders going at once, things tend to a) get forgotten, and b) made wrong. I've said the words "no, that's OK, don't remake it" more in the past two or three visits than I had in years of stopping in here. I wanted to see this place get better after Mary sold off the business, and it was briefly on track to do so. Now - not so much. The owner really needs to back off and hire a line cook who has a clue. I'll be surprised if they last another year.

Was totally disappointed with the service... I traveled 20mins to get there on my lunch break. I got there 11;20 and the young man stated lunch started at 12:30 but the internet stated lunch began at 11:30. I informed this young man that I came once before around the same time and was served. I truly believe that this was the same young man who had served me previously.....he claimed this was his brother. The establishment wad totally empty and he was sitting in the corner on his cell phone. I stated to the young man that the place was empty and he was not busy. He said v" well these are the rules. I don't know if this was an act of prejudice or not. I am a black woman not being served when the internet states Lunch at 11:30

Ever since the dad has pass the business to his younger children the place is not the same none of the his kids has customers service are very rude when you call to place a pick up order the food is not the same

My sister and her boyfriend invited me to breakfast at Deusenbergs but that place was PACKED! 1 hour wait! I then checked to see if there was another place near the area that served breakfast. This place was it. We came in and it's a small family? diner. Really small but cozy! We sat down and the menu was small, yay! Small, simple and had everything you wanted for a good breakfast. I got 1 order of 2 eggs and sausage and another order of just 2 eggs. 4 eggs sunny side up, 2 pieces of sausage, and 2 slices of bread. Pop the eggs onto the bread, having it soak the juices up, then putting a sausage on it and taking a bite?.... This is why I love breakfast. Home cooked meals that makes you happy! The service was fast, food was good, and the owner was very friendly! They don't accept tips from credit/debit cards but luckily there are ATM's nearby at the 7 Eleven and liquor store.

They only take cash ATM is across the street inside 7-11 This is what my belated dear grandfather would have called a dirty spoon in a good way. I can picture him in a booth every morning for coffee and newspaper. Knowing everyone's name that walked in. The food is cooked to order and you get the feeling of being at her (chef) dining room table. The portions are huge.

No nonsense diner/grill. Four or five booths along the wall and a few seats at the counter and that is it. They now accept credit cards but have a $6 minimum. Went here for breakfast early one morning after helping a friend move. The two women that run the place found out my friend was new to the area and told him about the community association and gave him a copy of its newsletter. While we were there, several regulars came in and were all greeted by name. Very small town feel not too far from Baltimore, quite nice (this is what gets Lucy's its 4th star). I've only had breakfast here and its solid. The home fries are some of the best I've had (I like how thinly they are sliced) in awhile. They don't do poached eggs, but they fried my eggs to just the right degree of doneness that I still had runny yolks to mix in with my home fries. I ordered two eggs with ham and the ham was the only disappointing part, I was expecting something like a ham steak and instead I received slices of deli meat. In the end, Lucy's is a comforting place with decent food. It is also open early and within walking distance of my friend's place so I know I'll be back.

I ordered from door dash . Just a simple bacon egg and cheese on whole grain sandwich for me . My fiancé ordered a French toast platter . I don't know if its because I'm pregnant but my stomach virus hit asap . On the toilet for hours . My fiancé not until the next day . Same thing . I didn't contact the store because I don't want anything from them . Not a refund or a replacement. Just don't do it .

I live nearby, and never knew this place under the old ownership, so I can't compare to how this was in the past. That being said, I like the place. It seems to be family run now, and everyone seems nice. I haven't had long conversations with them, but that isn't what I want when I'm ordering some food to go. The burgers are consistently ok. Not Five Guys good, but tasty. The brioche buns are really good. I've had the cheesesteaks several times and I like the quality. Breakfast is always good. Oh! I went in for a burger, and was told the crab soup was super fresh...they had just made it. It was *really* good. Lots of veggies, tomato based broth and tons of crab. It was a bit spicy but not overwhelming. Definitely give it a shot if it is on the menu. Overall, this is where I go when I don't want to cook, and don't want to deal with traffic on 40. I like that it is a small family run place, that makes the food onsite. The price is fair, I've never had anything bad, the menu has a solid variety and they are fast.

If you're in the area and haven't gone here- you should!!! Paradise cafe is a go-to for me. They are consistent, delicious, and cheap. They serve some of the BEST home fries (roasted potatoes) I've ever had. I always get the egg and cheese sandwich with a side of home fries and a coffee for around $7-$8 maybe ?? This place has a hometown diner vibe, because it's just about that. Paradise cafe I believe is family owned and run. I see the head cook and his sons (I'm assuming) there every time I go. Great place. Classic food done well. Fair price! One of my favorite breakfast places by far.

Friendly staff. Food is pretty good. I usually order for pick up and they know my preferences. Nothing fancy. But a neighborhood hang out for a quick bite.

I live right around the block from this place and it's my fave. Really cute greasy spoon vibes and the staff are usually all very prompt and nice. Some people working there are the owners kids and family (I assume) so if you don't mind being served by a 12 year old I recommend. Everything on the menu is great, breakfast, subs, specials, and the prices are really cheap and reasonable. They had great Maryland Crab soup a few months ago too. Great diner, doesn't hurt that I can walk there in my pj's hungover for some comfort food. Support this local business! (also please extend your hours)

This is a small diner with a lunch counter and 4 or 5 booths. Seems like it could be a friendly place, but with only 4 customers in the place, I thought we were pretty much ignored after being served. I liked my cheese omelette, but it's pretty standard. My fries were pretty good, but they were oddly a mix of regular and crinkle. Is this what they always do, or did I get a mixture of batches? My brother's breakfast sandwich was "alright" but the coffee was so bad, he had to get one at Dunkin' Donuts to remove the taste from his mouth. Some areas of the place appeared in need of a cleaning. Additionally, we saw one iffy practice (cooked steak meat was put directly on the preparation counter) and one disgusting practice (the cook poured a drink into a customer's USED water bottle by pressing the bar soda gun right against and into the water bottle's opening. This actually made me glad that no one asked about our food or offered refills.

Stopped by on a random whim after shopping in the area and found this little cafe to be warm, welcoming and good ole comfort foods. Service was good. Food was diner style and what I expected. I'd go again.

What a cute little diner. The owner Mary( most people greeted me very warmly). She was the cook/host/ waitress. I ordered the pancake platter. Which had pancakes that were light as air. I was naughty and went for the carve with delish home fries, crispy bacon and perfectly fried eggs. I just love this area of Maryland. They are cash only so just bring some money :-). The service here is outstanding. The food is reasonably priced and served promptly. What more could you ask for?.

Cozy old dinner feel. The owner and staff are very personable, and were adamant about our food being all we wanted. I couldnt stop eyeing my friends breakfast sandwhich, which makes me want to drive the 20min drive from home just for a bite.

Very disappointing breakfast. Very thin pancakes, not fluffy at all. Scrambled eggs were overcooked. The scrapple was cooked well though. Honestly, I could have made a better breakfast myself, at home. I'm not sure where all these 5 star ratings come from, but this place is below average. You'd get a better breakfast at IHOP or Dennys.

Great place for lunch or breakfast. Simple, hone style food in a local diner. Owner Mary here most days. Love supporting local...the now take credit cards. Had a BLT and it was great. Most items under $7. Stop in if close.

do not order fish tacos..idk what this is..what flavor idk period. it looks like mush. omg never again. i liked the hot wingd they were fresh and tasty.

I would give zero stars if possible. This was my 3rd attempt with this place in 18 months. New people each time. Ordered coffee and the creamer at my table was curdled, ordered an omelette and when I cut it open raw egg ran all over my plate. She offered to throw it back on the grill. That's a health code issue in itself. The home fries were deep fried and hard as a rock. Never go here.

Great experience! Went there for lunch and had one of the best chicken club sandwiches. Owner is very friendly - service was great!

My fiancé and I wanted to check out Duesenberg's close by but the wait was too long and I just got off night shift & was starving. Thanks to Yelp, we found this gem of a place. It's a cosy, no frills restaurant with a limited menu of breakfast and lunch. I had Cheese omelet, home fries and pancake & added a side of scrapple. I appreciated the fast and polite service. Will be back to check out the lunch items :)

I love quaint neighborhood places. This was the first time I've been here and I've lived less than a mile away for 2 years. Food was made fresh and had great taste, coffee needed a little more heat. I ordered a southwestern omelette with wheat toast. But, it's the perfect neighborhood place to grab a quick bite to eat, meet friends and catch up since you can actually hear each other talk and not be overwhelmed with loud music and other patrons trying to be heard. I'll definitely be back.

Tried to order several menu items that they said they were out of. The food we did manage to order was terrible. I ordered a chef salad, which came with no dressing, and the chopped carrots were visibly rotten and smushy. There was a 13 yr old (he said so!) running the register, and his teenage brother was in the kitchen. Never going back there again.

This place is horrible disgustingly dingy inside dust and dirt all over the place. Workers were very nice before I realized this place was too unsanitary to eat there I ordered hot chocolate cute presentation BUT STALE sprinkles and low quality swiss miss hot chocolate disgusting I had two spoonfuls and left! Don't waste your time.

My boyfriend and I have been to Paradise Cafe for breakfast and lunch. Both times were incredible. Today was the best because we decided to go for lunch and after every staff member came over to us to see if we were ready to order, we only waited about 10 minutes to get our food. He had the buffalo wings. The sauce is made in house and you can tell. The chli peppers were fresh and we could tell because the pieces were bigger than you would get in a bottle at the grocery store. I had the philly cheesesteak. One word, EXCELLENT. Not only was the taste phoenomenal, but the sandwich stayed hot the entire time I was eating. I'm so used to food getting cold fast. I think the difference is that the plates are also kept hot so the food is not plopped onto a cold plate. The Chef was incredible. We saw him wash his hands several times and wipe the sweat off his head before he cooked anything and after touching something like a pen and a pad of paper. He came over to us to ask how everything was too. This is by far the best local place. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their food and they stand by the quality of it.

We orders Philly Cheesesteaks and they were good. Service was a little slow (only one guy was working the grill), fountain sodas were a bit watery, the inside was kinda hot (they turned on the AC while we were there). For a local diner, it was ok; might be the perfect place after a drunk night out.

This place is exactly what a small town diner should be. All day breakfast, yummy food, and friendly staff. The a/c doesn't blow super strong so on this hot summer day it was a little warm but not too bad, and certainly not hot enough to take away from enjoying our food.

It's mediocre, cheap diner food so if you're not looking to be wowed, just to eat, it's pretty good. It's family owned and the people who work there are super nice though.

Love this place! Great food at a better price. Completely craps on the double T diner. Great home fries, great everything. The father and son who run the place are very personal and give you that home town feel.

Just had breakfast this morning and they now accept MasterCard and Visa. There is a $6.00 minimum. One of these days I am going to try them for lunch. Always have a good, hot breakfast.

Great little cafe with a good atmosphere. The food was really good. My roast beef platter was a tad on the cool side, but that's not something that would prevent me from coming back.

I've started to eat breakfast here on days that I walk to UMBC. It's small, personal, and friendly, and they do a good job with breakfasts.

A greasy spoon, but if you're not expecting anything fancy this is a homey neighborhood diner. They don't mind if we bring in the Sunday paper to read and longer over our breakfast and coffee.

I'm staying on campus at UMBC working this summer with a summer research institute. My daughter stays with me off and on. I am trying to save money by not going to the on campus spots that are a bit pricey and have weird inconvenient hours. Found this spot on Yelp and was pleased with the low prices. I don't usually eat pancakes from any place other than iHop. The pancakes here were really good as was the cheese omelette and potatoes. My daughter got a sausage, egg and cheese bagel. We both enjoyed our food. There are no special airs about this place. It is what it is, a straightforward American diner with simple fare and nothing fancy.

This place is a hole in the wall for sure, but I was excited to try it after reading such good reviews. The service is excellent but the food greasy and seemed like it was made from low quality ingredients, everything just felt a little dirty.

Awful! Low quality food. The pancakes were like rubber and coffee taste like instant. Slow service and the place is dirty. The waitress/cook handled money and then started cooking without washing her hands. This is one of the worst places I've ever eaten. Simply awful!!!
